Empanadas I had were very tasty but too salty.
Both were beef. I like the thin dough crusts, they were baked so not greasy at all. The chimichurri sauce is soooo good though! Plan to come back to try a steak, smothered in c-sauce, yum! Large variety of these available. Reasonably priced 2 empanadas and wine for happy hour. Pleasant service. Very small place inside, a few seats on enclosed sidewalk. Have to check to see if they have heaters outside!

Authentic Argentine food! Service was great, this took me back to Buenos Aires! Highly recommend
Be the first to ReplyVery impressed with Sabor Argentino.
The Argentinian-style empanadas are great. They are flavorful, and not greasy. The steaks are solid and fairly priced. The flan... is amazing. Service is attentive.

Charming lil spot! Has a cute enclosed patio area facing the surrounding neighborhood. My girlfriends & I were visiting from CA & were in the mood for steak & wine. We ordered the filet & prime rib. Meat was cooked perfectly & the chimichurri & spicy sauce is so so delicious. The side of grilled veggies were very flavorful & paired with the Argentinian wine made it the best combination! Topped it off with the dulce de leche flan that was phenomenal. We had great service, super friendly & attentive. & had the patio to ourselves, which was a surprise since this place was so good! Also nice that we felt like we splurged with the quality we received compared to the actual bill. So happy to have found this hidden gem. Definitely a highlight of our trip, thank you!

I've sous vide plenty of great ribeyes at home but have to admit this one was a notch or two above. Very tender and juicy and with a nice chimichurri. We also sampled the Argentinian wines and everything was reasonably priced for the city. Looking forward to coming back again.
Be the first to ReplyLove love their spinach and cheese empanadas.
It's baked to perfection. Although I do wish they were a bit cheesier I still enjoy them very much. Their spicy chicken empanadas are good too. My only complaint is sometimes I call to place an order for pick up and they never pick up the calls. The last time this happened I took my business elsewhere.

Some prices are slightly higher than what's listed online (such as the parillada.) Use people's photos until it's updated.I went to this Argentine place with 5 others several days ago and we sat comfortably on one of the outside tables. The service was friendly. I ordered the Cordobes as a cocktail which is also known as fernet con coca. This is as per the name a mix of fernet(-branca,) an amaro very popular in Argentina (as well as Uruguay apparently,) and Coca-Cola. The drink had a refreshing flavor almost reminding me of spearmint and it was unique but tasty. They also have a wide selection of wine both full bottles and by the glass. For food, I started with the provoleta, split the parillada, and finished with a panqueue. The appetizer which is simply grilled provolone cheese with oregano was good though not as good as at some of the other Argentine spots I've been to. Some of the sections were nicely grilled but it wasn't as even as other spots but it was reasonably priced at $9.95. For my main, I split the parillada as noted with one other which is essentially a mixed meat platter. They have two options like most other spots with one being all different types of beef and the other one being the tipico variant which is more of a mix of offal. Surprisingly the offal one is more than the mixed steak being $90 instead of $75 but perhaps the portion of that is bigger. The steak parillada was a mix of vacio (flap steak,) costilla de asado (short rib,) prime entraña (skirt steak,) and top sirloin cap (picanha.) The steaks had a mix of tenderness with the thinner steaks in general being more tender but they were all tasty. The short ribs were a bit hard to cut separate but they were tender in terms of eating. I split this with one another and I think it would be easily possible to split this with two people and get perhaps an appetizer or two and be very comfortable but we were able to finish the majority of the meat. Surprisingly, the dish only came with one side like most other mains (even though it's for two) and the other person wanted the potato salad which was fine with me. This salad, also known as ensalada russa, is a mix of potatoes, carrots, peas, and mayo. Other people enjoyed their main dishes a lot. My dessert was a panqueue which is one of my favorite desserts. This is essentially a long thin crepe stuffed with dulce de leche and it was served with some berries on top. The dessert was around 10$ which is reasonable for the area though of course less so than in Queens. Other people had the flan, ice cream, tiramisu, and a cake called postre balcarce which I've not seen on any other Argentine menu in the city which had a meringue base and everyone liked their desserts. The food overall was tasty. Sure the prices could be better and perhaps one of the steaks could have been a bit more tender but it's the Village so the prices are almost expected. Low 4.

Meh. Went when they said they would be open (according to their website) and they were closed.Later learned they were on vacation. No sign on restaurant door/window or indication on web site about their vacation. Not sure if i'd go back to give them a try.
Be the first to ReplySo this place probably deserves 3-3.
5 stars. However, friends and family have likely inflated the ratings to a perfect 5 so this must be done. This place is just OK. Steak is very average and a bit chewy, I guess what can you expect for $25ish dollars in NYC. Empanadas are nothing special either. Everything is meh, a bit bland, not high quality.Come here for cheap wine and French fries, eat dinner elsewhere.

After seeing the reviews, we went to check out this place and we were pleasantly suprised. Food was amazing and service was top notch. Waitress was on point, making recommendations, very friendly and engaging and checked on us multiple times but not over the top so we really enjoyed the meal. We had the Argentinian grass-fed ribeye which was to die for! Tasty, juicy and perfectly cooked. We also had the burrata which I loved! Wine was very good too and quite affordable considering it's NYC. Of course, we started with the empanadas. Highly recommend the place. We will be back!
Be the first to ReplyPhenomenal food overall.
Freshly baked empanadas, and the staff was fantastic. Thanks for the great hospitality!
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, great service, great location.
Must start with empanadas. They are really good. And finish with the panqueque de dulce de leche. Of course all the food is good but those stand out. Wine and Quilmes beer also available.

I came here with my family, since my mom saw their posts on Instagram and essentially begged me to take her. We honestly weren't expecting too much, but the food was beyond our expectations! Everything was perfect, from the drinks to the dessert. This is an absolute hit, and considering that this restaurant hasn't been here for too long it definitely deserves the attention it's getting. The service was spectacular! It was a little busy considering it was a Saturday, but our server did an amazing job with bringing us food and drinks. The appetizers were spectacular, especially the provoleto! Their entrana was perfect, it wasn't too big or too small, it was the right size to fill me up alongside a mashed potato side. Their mash isn't chunky or watery, it's the perfect consistency! I have a hard time finding that in a lot of restaurants. After we ate the main course, we decided to eat some empanadas to try a little bit of what we could fit before we left and God they were great! We ate the ham and cheese, philly cheesesteak, and guava and cream cheese empanadas. Every single one was perfect, the dough was nice and soft and complimented the fillings nicely. To end the night, I ordered their crepe which was spectacular! It was so full of dulce de leche and every bite was great.Needless to say, I might have a new favourite restaurant. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!
Be the first to ReplyOverall service was slow and the server was not attentive.
Had to request water and the check after waiting too long for both. The empanadas were great but the steak was extremely chewy. Overall was a bit disappointed, especially because there are so many great restaurants in the area. I personally wouldn't return
Be the first to ReplyLocated in the always bustling West Village, Sabor
Located in the always bustling West Village, Sabor Argentino is a quaint little spot on 7th Avenue. The interior dining area is small, but they do have covered dining outside as well. On a comfortably cool winter day last Saturday, the outside dining area was busier than inside dining was. We made a reservation in advance and our table for 7 was ready upon arrival. For starters, we all ordered empanadas. They were big and flaky and served piping hot. We all ordered different entrees and most of us enjoyed our order (save for the one order of Milanesa de Carne. I ordered the Prime Entraña (skirt steak) with a side of Mashed Yellow Squash. The steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare and was juicy and tender. The chimichurri sauce was light, not as packed with flavor as others I have had. It could have packed a bigger punch of flavor. The squash was nice and light and had a great texture - not too dense or too "whipped".We ordered sangrias but they didn't have it available...at least not when we ordered it. As we were done with our meal and were leaving, it looked another party that arrived well after us was sipping on sangria, so maybe the house made it in between (?).Our server was nice, and while she was very present when we 1st arrived and the place was not so busy, once our apps were on the table and we wanted to order our entrees, we had to wait quite a while for her to come and take our orders. It could have been that she was overwhelmed with the outside tables - so not really her fault - but we waited far too long for our liking. All in all, it was an enjoyable meal, and the prices were fair given the quality of the food.

I've been here for brunch before - the empanadas and choripan are solid. I finally came back to try their steaks for dinner and wasn't disappointed! My bf and I started with the calamari and shared the Prime Entraña/Costillas de Asado. It was delicious! The sweet potato fries were super crispy and perfectly salted. Grilled veggies were ok, just personally would have liked more variety. Food is authentic and reminds me of my time in Argentina. We ended with their Vanilla Cake dessert and cappuccinos. Great intimate spot for brunch or dinner.

Very tasty authentic Argentine food: Baked empanadas (not fried), Quilmes beer, and you have to get the Argentine combo app. Friendly service and an unpretentious approachable vibe

This place has a good dessert selection! Super tasty and friendly service. We ordered the dec special that comes with a bottle of wine! Their sauces for their empanadas were also yummy. Their meat platter is also good for a group of 2/3! Yummy dessert as well!
