ROOH Palo Alto Reviews from The Last Year
The food at Rooh is possibly the best Indian food so far.
Our server Kiran was extremely knowledgeable about the food. All of his recommendations were on point. Our favorites were the Lamb Chops, Paneer Chillirolls and Malai Broccoli. All in all the food makes it a must visit place but the service makes you want to go again. Would highly recommend anyone who likes progressive Indian food to go here. 10/10
I love Rooh.
We have come here about 3 times so far. It's worth the drive and price. The food is always amazing! Service and atmosphere is always great. They're very much on the "upscale" side.

I've been to Rooh at least 4 times by now with different groups. Have had various experiences. But figured this review is long overdue. The most recent experience was for my sister and brother-in-law's anniversary. The customer service is excellent. Special shout out to Arsh! He made our celebration so special. Very attentive and celebrated their anniversary in such a beautiful way. When he found out it was my birthday as well, he did a special thing for that too! Very professional, courteous, warm, and attentive. Will definitely ask for him when we go back! The food is definitely unique. Depending on what you like to eat, you can try various items. I like how they are innovative and creative. Fun to try different things if you are in a group. Looking forward to going back and celebrating my sister's birthday soon!
Came to Rooh on a weeknight for dinner after work.
I've been to their SF location a few times and enjoyed the food, service, and experience. As expected, our food was good and the cocktails we tried were great as well. Unfortunately, service was a miss: inattentive and slow and almost nonexistent despite the restaurant not being all that busy.
Much more than your usual curry
Much more special than a standard curry, super tasty and everything a little bit different. Liked the modern, quirky decor. Not cheap.
Went back for a birthday celebration.
Quality of food has gone down drastically. Nothing had that wow factor about it. We were a part of 7 and indicated during reservation that we were celebrating a birthday. Nobody brought it up, forget any form of complimentary dessert, or anything really. I expect a so-called fine-dining establishment to be a lot more attentive. If I wanted a mid-grade highly overpriced dining experience, I would have gone elsewhere.
I was originally going to book at the SF location but palo
I was originally going to book at the SF location but palo alto was closer for us and less traffic so we decided to try Rooh in Palo Alto. I was skeptical at first because of the many reviews about their service.., but overall, i didn't have a bad experience! The waiters were nice and attentive to us and our food came out quick! The food was pretty good. The garlic naan was ok. Our favorites of what we tried were the tandoori chicken and the butter chicken! Soo good! I liked the Ratnagiri cocktail a lot, it tasted like a mango mousse!! The ambiance was pretty as well! Very modern and upscale inside.
Rooh is a high end modern Indian food restaurant in a prime
Rooh is a high end modern Indian food restaurant in a prime location. The food itself was amazing, very well composed, unique (try the Potato Tikki Chaat), and delicious. This includes traditional dishes, like the Butter Chicken. The service, timing, and follow through was disappointing, especially when the restaurant was 3/4 empty. Maybe it would be fuller if this was better organized? Forgetting ordered dishes twice is inexcusable. What was more disappointing was the bill. I know what it takes to make Butter Chicken, and the dish was grossly overpriced. Again, the restaurant might be more attractive if there was higher value for the great, yet made with inexpensive ingredients, food.
Dined at Rooh for dinner.
Ambiance inside is very nice. It's dimly lit and perfect for date tonight. Servers were very attentive and fast with bringing the food. For drinks we order a Ayurvedic cocktail called Ratnagiri Sour and a mocktail called Pink Guava. Both drinks were good. I couldn't taste the alcohol on be Ratnagiri Sour so I didn't get a second one because I wasn't sure if it's one of those drinks that creeps up on you later. For starters we ordered the Chicken Tikka Kulcha which was piping hot with some nice butter and Indian pickle on top. It was pretty solid. We also ordered Dahi puri. The whipped yogurt was interesting and different but we liked this dish as well. For the mains we ordered the paneer pinwheel and butter chicken along with garlic naan and avocado raita. The butter chicken was delicious and the chicken melted in your mouth. The paneer pinwheel was also very delicious. Naan was good but didn't come with many pieces. The avocado raita was nothing special. The avocado slices were just sliced on top. For dessert we got the saffron and pistachio kulfi which was not good at all! The kulfi had like a pistachio coating and wasn't tasty. It was also hard to share because it came on a popsicle stick. Next time we will definitely skip the dessert. We ended up getting Somi Somi after the disappointment. Overall this is a good restaurant with a nice ambiance especially for date night, but it's a bit pricey for the quantity of food and I would definitely skip their dessert.
We came here for our valentine's dinner on the day before
We came here for our valentine's dinner on the day before Valentine's day. Definitely need to reserve before going. Ambience is great as always. Service could be better, there were no pleasantries, was hard to catch hold of a waiter and the dishes took forever to come. This time we tried the tandoori chicken bomba, paneer pinwheel with some naans. The Bomba was interesting and the paneer pinwheel was amazing. You can definitely come here for a special occasion as it is on the pricier side.

Good: - Dessert - Mango Tres Leches - Chili Garlic Prawn - Lamb chops Disappointing: - Butter chicken - Brie pakora (a full block of brie just deep fried) - Naan (how do you mess that up?) - Non-alcholic drinks (really just bottled OJ for 12$) Service was fine. For the price, it was really disappointing.
I have been here many times.
Food used to be really good for a fine dining fair until last year. We tried it on Valentine's Day this year. Experience We made our reservation and when we entered we were told we made an outdoor seating reservation that was never mentioned on their reservation system. Despite telling that we had a kid and a newborn, they didn't agree to provide indoor seating despite many tables being empty. We agreed to sit outside and we got bad seating with us and our food got wet due to rain. Upon request they changed us to another outdoor seating despite so many of the same indoor tables being empty which I personally checked after a while which they denied again when asked for. All in all a very bad experience for a rip off fixed menu bill. What this fine dining place needs to understand is people go for experience and not just food on a special occasion. Food Wide food options for fixed menu selection. Appetizers were very salty and lacked flavor (edamame bhel). Paneer based appetizer was good but too much salt again Main dishes were hit or a miss. One was too sweet (kofta curry). Desserts were really good which was the only best part of our meal. Call ahead of time to confirm indoor seating if you are particular about it. I wouldn't go back ever again to Rooh.
Will never go again.
Went on valentines. Terrible service and sneaks on 20% mandatory charge. Entire focus is on turning around tables fast and making money.

Had a reservation for Valentine's dinner at 5:15, and was seated inside promptly. Great decor, great aesthetic, atmosphere, dim lights, very romantic. Waiters were dressed and very polite, had a candlelight and roses on our table. We ordered from the special Valentines menu which was $95 per person. For small plates and apps, we had a small kulcha with daal in the mini cups (daal was a bit too salty), and mini bread bites with seasoned butter. So good. Onto small plates we chose shrimp and the chicken Ghee roast. Very flavorful and spicy, highly recommend! For big plates we ordered the paneer pinwheel and the fish. Had garlic and plain naan. Alongside we had the guava mocktail. Overall great experience, great food, definitely recommend to come!

TLDR : Amazing food, lovely ambiance (squeezed seating), quick service We visited Rooh for my wife's birthday and we will definitely be going back. Food was so good! The butter chicken and panner appetizers were the best of the dishes we tried. The lamb shank biryani presented so beautifully with the lamb easily falling off the bone made for a great meal! The spicy chutney is really spicy! Drinks were nice- the old fashioned and pink guava were our picks Service - We asked for recommendations and we did follow them and loved it. Ambiance - The ambiance was darker than other restaurants but that made for a more intimate setting. The tables however were really close to each other and every time someone was getting up or sitting down it couldn't be done without bothering the tables around. Only reason for not the 5star review this would've otherwise been.
The food was good, lots of unique twists to Indian dishes.
I really like the ambiance at this place and it was made even better by our server, Arsh!
delicious food and warm staff
Appetizers were the highlights in this restaurant! very attentive and helpful staff when they helped accommodating our big family along with my dad on wheelchair as we were celebrating a family occasion! The ambience, service and delicious food made the event special for the whole family. Dahi puri was blast of various flavors that we had multiple repeat orders for it, same for paneer chilli roll. Jackfruit cutlet were flavorful, crispy and stuffed cheese kulcha were extra ordinary. We loved the Lauki kofta preparation in Entrees. Chole and paneer pinwheel were alright. The portions could have been bigger in main course. But overall food was authentic, delicious and the whole family thoroughly enjoyed the dinner experience including drinks and desserts. Very friendly staff. Worth the money for the experience.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it? |
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid? |
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted. |
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from? |
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered? |
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.

How to list a Nobu Malibu reservation
Hi, I have a reservation to Nobu Malibu, but since they don't do text or e-mail confirmations I haven't been able to get my reservation posted. I have posted a screen shot of the phone conversation on the listing, but it keeps getting rejected. If anyone has an idea how I can get it approved that would be much appreciated, thanks!

I posted a request for a reservation this Thursday between 6:30 and 8 pm and initially the potential seller said it would be fulfilled by today. Now they changed it that they will only fulfill it by 5pm that same day. Basically I would have an hour and a half to get to the restaurant. Is this allowed?

This app is a catfish and overrun by people programming “bots” and algorithms. It makes it frustrating for someone not well versed in this to have any movement. I thought this would be a fun side hustle, but unfortunately it’s become like any other “side hustle”. Don’t waste your time with this crap. Not a question, just a suggestion. Also don’t pay these fake “gurus” hundreds of dollars to teach you. Might as well sign up for a software class. 😕
