There appear to be problems with the chef
My wife and I had dinner at Rococo. The atmosphere and the service were very good. However, both my wife's steak and mine were overcooked. My medium rare steak came out between medium and medium well. My wife's medium steak came out well done. In addition, we had ordered a creamed spinach side. We received sauteed spinach instead. The chef apparently has no idea what he or she is doing.

This restaurant touts itself as a steakhouse. We had a ribeye that was dry and almost inedible. Leather for 65.00. We will be looking for a new steakhouse
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced and mediocre food
Given the apparent rating of this restaurant we looked forward to an excellent meal in high quality surroundings. The place looked tired, the fairly limited menu was grossly overpriced and the food was mediocre at best. I had escargot as a starter, a saucer with 10 button sized snails swimming in a lukewarm garlic sauce was presented, actually the worst Iโve had. My wife and son ordered fillet steak, 2 dry as dust fillets that looke like shoe heels were presented. I would have ordered my usual NY strip but 80$?? Instead I got Branzino fish swimming in butter, wonโt be back.

Amazing aged porterhouse, which is why we went. The price is steep, but we throughly enjoyed it. Excellent, warm pretzel & sourdough rolls, and we had the broccoli & cauliflower gratin with smokey bacon (seasonal veg). Cocktails were well made and there were reasonably priced wine offerings available in the very extensive wine list (we had an excellent Malbec). Our server was attentive and prompt, but not overbearing. We did arrive very early so the restaurant wasn't busy. Our only issue was the bass thumping from the private party upstairs. There was no music noted in the restaurant (we were in the bar area), and we were hoping for some classic jazz/blues that goes so well with fine dining (rap thumping doesn't work for me).

My wife and I went to Rococo for a belated birthday dinner. As requested we were seated on the patio. Matthew, our server, and Will, the sommelier, got us off to a good start with fast and friendly service. They answered our questions about the menu and their extensive wine lists. Our steaks were prepared just as ordered and as flavorful as promised. They have a nice selection of sides. We opted for the mushrooms and truffle fries which were nice portioned and very tasty. I had not heard of this place until recently and would not have found it without Tripadvisor. It was well worth the trip.
Be the first to ReplyCompletely Unreasonable Food & Beverage Minimum for Private Event
I just had a horrible experience trying to book a rehearsal dinner party event for 35 - 40 guests at Rococo Steak. When I was considering Rococo Steak for my son's wedding rehearsal dinner, I was e-mailed a menu with event dinner pricing. The Rococo "Signature dinner" was $103 per person,. I figured that was reasonable for a nice 3 course dinner and that the cost would actually be closer to $150 per person with hors d'oeuvres and alcohol added. Thus, for 35 -40 people, I was prepared to spend $5,300 to $6,000 before gratuity. Once the event planner and General Manager of Rococo Steak knew that I wanted to have my event at their restaurant, I was told that the minimum spend would be $7,000. When I objected to this high minimum, the General Manager of the restaurant actually increased the minimum to $8,000 (making my dinner $200+ per person)!! Needless to say, I will not be having my event at Rococo Steak. I hope the company that owns Rococo Steak reads this review so they are aware of how this restaurant is being managed.

Party of 4 on a Saturday night. This place is way overrated. Had reservations and was seated in bar area which was so loud you could not hold a conversation. Octopus appetizer was chewy. Lobster bisque was OK. Oysters on 1/2 shell good. Dinks were good. Server was friendly and helpful. Steak were OK but nothing special, and for a steak restaurant they were not worth it. Mashed potatoes were over mixed, starchy and to thick. Wedge Salad had brown leaves. Will never return.

We visited Rococo steak for my wifeโs 50th birthday. The pictures of the interior really do not do it justice. It looks rather unassuming from the outside but is really nice from the moment you enter through the front doors. They welcomed my wife by wishing her happy birthday before leading us to our table. The walls are dark (green/blue??) with enormous ornate seating and looked very classy. There is an exceptional wine list. There are some recommended wines or a QR code on the menu with hundreds to choose from. I was driving so only had one glass (a wine from Montepulciano dโAbruzzo) which was very nice. My wife had a cocktail and wine with the main meal. Of course we had a steak - we shared the Porterhouse and were not disappointed. I have to say this was the best steak we have ever had. The outside is seared with salt and creates a perfect crust which was delicious. We ordered sides of vegetables and asparagus with peppercorn (au poivre) sauce which was not overpowering at all, The restaurant gave my wife a complementary dessert which came with a little chocolate rectangle with happy birthday written on it. Our waiter was excellent - really knowledgable and engaging. He was perfectly attentive without going over the top. Thank you for making my wifeโs birthday meal so special.

Top end vey popular restaurant. Well furnished with nice decor. The food is fantastic and the service is very attentive and friendly. The steaks are amazing. Would also recommend the calamari and the escargots which were I think the best I have ever had. Will definitely be returning.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a disappointment
Wow, wow. Such a disappointment after seeing such rave reviews. Seated in the bar area, and was extremely loud, like a cheap tavern. I went to the hostess to get moved to the dining room and she said it was booked, even though half the tables were empty. And the diners were dressed in cutoffs and t-shirts. No dress code for an upscale restaurant... no, because only the cost is upscale. The escargot was served on a plate not in the shells, just there. Totally meat only in sauce...have NEVER seen that type of plating. Over cooked, and very weird to see that. My original steak order was out of stock, so they offered me two more, one at $65., the other at $98. I chose the $65 cowboy steak and was at first happy with the taste , then the salt kicked in. They coated the steak with salt...Are you kidding me....salt on an expensive cut of steak? They don't have Chefs, they have mediocre cooks who add salt to everything for taste. Disgusting and disappointing. Where have all the premium restaurants gone ?? And they knew it was my birthday, and didn't even offer a cupcake for desert. Totally unprofessional. Do not go unless someone else pays, and then they will be upset with you !!!
