Saturday brunch w friendPros:Good location, good view of Central Park, if you get the window table. ;) Good service, nice and attentive stuff.Quiet environment, suitable to have conversations. They gave us a complimentary dessert for the table, it was a nice gesture for not giving us a window table...Cons:food and coffee, was just Okish...
Be the first to ReplyNice place for brunch with a view.
Came here for brunch and didn't get a window seat but that's ok. If you're able to get a window seat that faces Central Park, it's a nice view. It overlooks Columbus Circle and Central Park. I ordered the Challah French Toast and scrambled eggs. There was too much salmon roe for me on the eggs making the whole dish very salty but it was still good. I also wish they gave 4 toast points instead of 2. I asked for extra but they only gave me one. The french toast was too soggy for my liking but the flavor was good. I tried some of the Lobster Roll appetizer which was yummy. I also had a cocktail, the Isabell (Prosecco and St Germain Elderflower liqueur) which was nice and strong. I would go again.

I've been here many times and it is always an incredible experience. Service is always great and the atmosphere is unique. Not to mention, the view is stunning. I appreciate the effort made to keep Robert one of the best xx
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful view.
Modern ambience with live pianist music. Entrees delivered extremely quickly. Portions slightly small, but delicious nonetheless. Solid option for an occasion that would be made special by the view of the circle and Central Park.
Be the first to ReplyInstantly, this has become my new favorite restaurant.
Everything is beyond exceptional: The location, the beautiful space, the friendly and professional staff, the creative cocktails, the quality and inventiveness of the menu, and of course, that jaw-dropping view all exceeded any expectation. After a warm welcome, my friend and I were lucky enough to be seated by the great window with that panoramic view - though there are no bad seats in the place. Surprising and delicious little extras were provided throughout the meal, the wait staff was so friendly and professional. The entire experience was out of this world and unforgettable. It's one of those experiences that make you feel so fortunate to be in NYC.

The ambience was fantastic, amazing NYC view, saturated and happy colors in the furniture, wonderful service and staff, esp Jose, our server. I went with 3 friends to celebrate the Chinese/Lunar New Year, and they gave us a quiet corner to celebrate and catch up! The food was fresh, delicious, innovative. Very interesting cocktails such as espresso martini and beautiful vie lilac! We ordered the Sunday menu - excellent market salad, yummy roasted acorn squash, tender juicy Cornish hen, delicious desserts! Would definitely return. Robert is atop the Museum of Arts and Design, so eat here, then visit the Museum!
Be the first to ReplyHoping for an exceptional experience but was disappointed.
Service was very slow and inattentive. The foodwas good... until dessert! The pumpkin chocolate mousse cake was not mousse at all, totally misrepresented on the menu. Really not interested inreturning.

Though a slight misnomer, the Sunset menu, between lunch and dinner, is a very smart idea. The restaurant is less crowded--at least on a Friday--and every seat, even if not immediately by the park-facing windows, offers great views, both internal and external. The burrata with roasted beets, candied walnuts, red watercress, and muscat vinaigrette was memorable: a fine blend of textures, perfectly coated watercress (an original choice in itself), and a plump, smooth serving of light cheese.

If you enjoy nice views and being dismissed, this is the place for you! I asked if I could just grab a cocktail and I was told by the host, "sure, if I am old enough and have the money" which was very off putting. After ordering my drinking I asked for a food menu and waited and waited.... until I finished my drink and asked for the bill out of frustration. Maybe this is because I was the only person of color in the entire establishment? Maybe not, but either way it's been very disappointing. My drink was good, however.

trip from the West Coast for my mom's birthday celebration at a Greek restaurant in The BX, hubs and I treated our kid and her friend to a more relaxed 8pm dinner here later in the day. Plus my non-Yelp husband, has been eyeing this place. Located on the 9th floor of The Museum of Arts & Design, Robert has street view AND the Columbus Circle view everyone wants smacked-dabbed across from Central Park. The last is what you want to request for that panoramic scene. While Robert isn't sky-high in any regard, dining on the 9th floor and sitting by the street view side likewe did, wasn't bad at all. I called and was told window seats of any kind were all booked- but still went ahead to reserve anyway. Elevator instantaneously opens to the lounge with low tables if you want to start with a cocktail before you sit for dinner, there are sofa chairs and those dinner tables facing the park that I so wanted be in. Let me not forget the piano guy tickling the ivories with tasteful tunes. Service is incredible. Thank you to Shirley(?) for working her magic and still sitting us by the window street view. Food was delicious down to desserts. And to that person who wrote that Robert "is not cheap", I'll disagree with that. I had a $34 Branzino dish (2 substantial fillets mind you) that was fantastic here. But I've also had a Branzino dish at other places that would run for 7 more dollars. Hubs got the $48 Petit Fillet Mignon in Medium here and loved it but has gotten it at other places way more than that. Get my drift? Or should I continue Mr. Cheap? I will say though, cocktails were at least $3-4 more than other places and desserts, were also a few coins more than other places- but seriously though, you will not break the bank. Considering the location, I feel prices weren't outrageous. Except for the $27 Mushroom Risotto listed as a "Main Course" that I brought home and realize how tiny the portion was. Did they treat the "Main Course" Risotto as an appetizer? Why would they??? Did they skimp on portion because it was a take-out order??? Why would they? I'm dumbfounded even as I'm writing because that risotto was fully loaded with several types of mushrooms, creamy and flavor-packed good. But listen..it's the location and food that make this such a find.

A small restaurant with a great view of Columbus Circle and Central Park. Awesome food too, for both the taste and the display.
Be the first to ReplyWent for dinner before the ballet.
Offers a gorgeous view of Columbus Circle and nicely decorated restaurant. Service was excellent. Food was good, nothing to rave about but also nothing to complain about. Felt a bit touristy. If you go definitely ask for a seat by the window.
Be the first to ReplyThe staff was specially kind.
I was helped by sherly. And the food was too good. I ordered tuna tartare and eggs and salmon Both were impeccable
Be the first to ReplyGreat views.
Good food and drink. Service, not so good. The waiter kept interrupting, without even saying "Excuse me." Then, abruptly, announced "We need your table momentarily." Out of the blue, I had no idea there was a time limit, it wasn't crowded, and we hadn't quite been there two hours at that point.
Be the first to ReplyWow! An incredible experience.
Amazing service, great food, great views, and great space. The branzino was delicious-- perhaps the best cooked fish I've ever had. I also ordered a "nice n' easy" cocktail which was fantastic. They also threw in a complementary dessert for an occasion. The views overlooking Central Park were also incredible. Would absolutely come back.

Be the first to Replyhonest to god possibly the best overall restaurant
honest to god possibly the best overall restaurant experience i've had in NYC. we got a table right next to the windows onto central park and the view was breathtaking. extensive wine list (and surprisingly reasonably priced IMO), fantastic range of food options and good portion sizes, and just a wonderful, upscale but welcoming atmosphere all around
Be the first to ReplyWe came here for drinks after visiting the museum.
The view of Columbus circle was beautiful! The decor was modern, and there was live music in the corner. The food and drinks were okay though.
Be the first to ReplyOverall Robert is a decent spot.
It's not cheap, but it's ok value for a somewhat fine dining experience (with amuse bouches and chefs compliments), has swanky decor, and is a great location with a view.Food 2.5/5: Overall the food is decent but nothing was standout. I had the spaghetti squash, which was underwhelming, the mushroom risotto which was good but a bit too powerful / oily, and yucca fries which were average.Service 4/5: The service was good, but ambience is where Robert really shines. There's great decor and a view of Columbus circle (ask for a window seat). The decor in the restaurant is quite nice too. You can definitely bring a date or friend here to impress them!
Be the first to ReplyNice view for a birthday day.
Service was great and prompt.Window seat tip was a beautiful thing!!
