It was our first day in Sorrento,so we tried this place and were impressed. So we went there and there was a decent amount of people eating. It was 7:30 and we asked our hotel concierge where we should go. She reccomended this place and this was after a very tiring day of 1 cab, 3 trains and 4 buses and taking a tour of Pompeii and hiking Vesuvius. This pizza was really good and it was really fancy. It was a nice environment. There was one thing about the pizza, there was a little bit too much oil but the pizza was still great. The staff was really real nice but there a lot of ants on the railing near my chair. Also, there was a lemon tree that leaves kept falling down from. Over all it gets a 5 star because of the pizza being really good, and the environment was nice. Also the service was super super fast. Ordered 1/2 minute after we came and drinks came 30 seconds later and food came about 3-5 minutes later

Food was good but pricey for what was served. 5 large grilled shrimp for 15 euros not served with pasta or risotto . The penne zucchini with ham was delish and rrasonably priced st 8 euros. The decor and garden of eden atmosphere is the selling point. I was turned off by all the smokers sitting near us that I could not really enjoy my food. It appears they are known for their pizza and sold many.Service was slow and we were there around 9pm ish.Food was good but not the best value as well as the second hand smoke did damper our dinner as well as the slow service.

We were persuaded into the restaurant by one of the employees standing at the gate. The service was okay - it took awhile to get water and take our order but the food came out without 15 minutes. The waiter was helpful with suggestions for what to order. The lasagna was tasty and the mussels were delicious. A definite recommendation from us if you get the opportunity to try it.

Food was decent. But what disgusted me the most was the giant line of ants crawling up the wall.

After spending a whole day exploring the Pompei ruins and hiking up Mt. Vesuvius my wife and I just wanted to sit at our B&B on the terrace and drink wine. I suggested pizza and unfortunately I drew the short straw and had to run out. My wife has a gluten intolerance so a quick yelp search suggested Villa Rubinacci to me. I walked the three blocks (exhausting) and approached their staff. I inquired if they did take out and after some miscommunication was told they do. I ordered a gluten free margarita pizza and was surprised that it was only 5 dollars. I asked the staff member how many people it would serve in my broken Italian. He responded 1, so I asked 1 or 2, and said emphatically 1. So with such a low price tag I ordered 2. I waited a few minutes and when they came out I was shocked. They were big enough to share. I walked back and told my wife and she was amazed at the value. We bit in and I immediately said to my wife that it was the chewiest gluten free pizza I had ever had and she agreed. The gluten free pizza was really good and the closest to the real thing I have tasted.

We visited Villa Rubinacci as we saw on their menu that they advertised "senza glutine". My partner and I are visiting Italy from the US and both have celiac disease. She ordered the four-cheese pizza and I ordered the margarita pizza "senza glutine". We were truly surprised! This was the first gluten free pizza we've ever had that had the crispy air-pockets of regular pizza and the first gluten free pizza we've ever had which had stretchy and springy crust. For those of you reading this review who don't have issues with gluten, it won't mean much but for anyone who pines for the taste and feel of pre-celiac pizza should know that this is the closest I've had since being diagnosed. While in Italy I was considering a "cheat day" when I'd just order a normal persons' pizza. After having this pizza I don't need to do that. This was one of the best pizza's I've ever had.

This restaurant is attached to the Hotel Eden and is a short walk from the main square of Sorrento, Piazza Tasso. Our balcony at the hotel overlooked the restaurant and it was jam-packed with customers every night. When we went in we noticed as well that most of the customers were Italian (always a good sign if the locals are eating there). Also it is set away from the bustle of the main streets so is nice and quiet. The food is excellent (except for a bit of overseasoning on the mixed grill) but our meal was ruined by extremely bad service. We were told by two waiters as they walked past that we couldn't have a table at that time and then a third seated us immediately while we were trying to find out how long we would have to wait. Trying to get a waiter's attention once we were seated was almost impossible and, as it turned out, practically pointless as our requests (one was for cutlery so that we could actually eat our first course) were only met after we made them several times. One of the waiters didn't have the wit to clear our plates from the first course before trying to deliver our second course and was hovering with dishes in each hand over the table for what seemed like an age before I couldn't take any more and cleared the old plates for him. I have a whole list of other gripes which I won't bore you with. We didn't leave a tip. I would say go for the food if you're in Sorrento because the prices were very reasonable in a notoriously expensive town and it was delicious but be prepared to wait and wait and wait.
