First time in Roma I had overcooked pasta, never mind it
First time in Roma I had overcooked pasta, never mind it was Very salty . Is so buco was plain and salty as well. Service was ok but the owner kept chatting with one table without paying attention on other guests. Ampbiance is simple somehow a bit of old office canteen(

Service is on the slower side but food is worth it. One of the best meals our sons plowed through everything we ordered.Florentine steak was absolutely amazing. They will only cook it rare.

Great Food & Service, very laser focus service, anticipating your next request. Spot on great quality food, not the whim of some cooking caprice.
Be the first to ReplyWe were sent here from hotel Degli Artistry for dinner.
The restaurant is upscale with a Mixture of business and local patrons. The service was professional and efficient, not unfriendly but not friendly either. The dinner for our party of four were all well prepared and delicious. My spaghetti with clams was so tasty I would have loved to come back here again if we were not leaving for Florence. If you want to get away from the tourist traps at the Trevi fountain, this is less than 10 minutes walk from there on a quiet street. I also had fried zucchini flowers with sardine which was very interesting and unique taste.

It was a fun experience. The ossobuco was amazing! Spaghetti and tomato sauce with basil was also fantastic. Seems like reviews were mostly negative due to slow service. This is Italy, get used to it. They aren't in a rush to kick you out and turn the table. Just enjoy it.
Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant is very charming.
The decoration and ambience felt like we were sitting in an Italian grandma's dining room. We sat by a utensils and bread drawer. It was fascinating watch them grab bread and cut it fresh in front of you. The food was delicious and the service was good!
Be the first to ReplyNice menu.
Family thought the mozzarella was the best they ever tasted. Very large wine menu which is a plus. Dined outside which was decently appointed. Big issue was the terrible service. Locals treated like royalty but others treated poorly. Shame. We booked it 1 month in advance. Wish we had picked a better place.
Be the first to ReplyThe absolute worst meal experience in two weeks in Italy,
The absolute worst meal experience in two weeks in Italy, starting with the quality of food. Unremarkable and shockingly out of context with reviews. Meatballs and beans were not homemade and looked like they came out of a can. Sauce not homemade; meatballs were 1/2" thick and tasteless. Beans were just thrown on the plate with a bit of sauce. Artichoke hearts all was cold and tasteless. Another dish thrown on the plate; tasted from a can. Veal chops were thin and had some flavor, but unremarkable. Pasta Pepe was decent, as was the eggplant parm; but not top notch. Mellon and prosciutto presentation was strange. Two thin slices of Mellon on one plate; prosciutto just thrown on the other. Bread was day old. And to top it off, the server was unfriendly and unresponsive then got mad when we refused to enter a tip. Just a bad experience. There are so many Better options in Rome.

Food was decent, but menu was limited. We had our kids (14 & 12) with us but the menu was fairly limited. 3 out of the 4 of us ended up eating steak and the other had the cannelloni. All were good (not great) but not really the "Italian" experience we were looking for. Wine list is quite robust which was a huge plus. I was caught a bit off guard where our waiter told us gratuity wasn't included. Not a big deal, but also not so sure it was a truthful statement. Feel like I make have footed shaken down on this one because of the situation described above. This place is better suited for business dinners than a family traveling internationally looking for an authentic eating experience.
Be the first to ReplyCentrally located, this hidden gem is upscale, slightly
Centrally located, this hidden gem is upscale, slightly dated elegant, appointed restaurant of pristine white linens filled with Italian locals who are specifically there to enjoy fresh, Tuscan-style cuisine. Servings, by American standards, will appear on the smaller side, but all the dishes are traditionally prepared and wonderfully executed. The artichoke appetizer is to die for, and the pasta and fish were delicious. Everyone was warm and friendly. Do make a reservation in advance though as seating is limited.
Be the first to ReplyOUTSTANDING!!I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!!
OUTSTANDING!!I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!! The waitstaff was unbelievably attentive, engaging and charming!! Our concierge at the Hotel De La Ville said they serve the best steaks in town, I would like to correct her as this was one of the best steaks I have had EVER, ANYWHERE!! The pasta was otherworldly, Melt in your mouth goodness!! Hats off to Tony and Matteo, they made this evening amazing. We sat next to a local girl who was one of Matteo's friends and we learned just how friendly Italian people are, if she reads this I would like to extend a monumental THANK YOU (if you are ever in Colorado, we would like to extend an invitation to you!!) Thank you to every member of this fine dining establishment for making this an outstanding night in Roma!! We will most definitely be back and we will recommend your fabulous restaurant to anyone who will listen!!

We're told to go here and ignore the yelp reviews saying bad things. Got the pasta everyone recommended in reviews and it was awful. Best dish I ate was the sliced cherry tomatoes with mozzarella. Many better options.
Be the first to ReplyOur family has been here before and loved the place.
This is a classic "man, it's just not like I remembered".The atmosphere is.....dated. One can see it was nicely appointed about 30 years ago. The service was abysmal. 15 minutes before we received a menu. 40 minutes before we got a bottle of wine. Yes .... In Italy it's all about taking your time while you eat WHILE sipping on your wine.... on the other hand, the wine selection is incredible. We ordered a 2012 chateauneuf du pape. Incredible. Veal with potatoes was flavorless. Bolognese was edible. There are so many better options. Take one of them.
Be the first to ReplyWe were hoping for more in the way of interactive service
We were hoping for more in the way of interactive service like we had received the last two evenings at Rinaldi and Taverna Agape . The spaghetti my husband ordered was delicious, however my veal meatballs and potatoes (recommended by the waiter) was sub par and bland . Actually the best meatballs so far Emma pizza! Good atmosphere here, though, and we were flanked by two other American couples and had some lovely conversations.
Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant was really close to the hotel we were
This restaurant was really close to the hotel we were staying at, and recommended by the hotel staff. It was definitely pretty and fancy, but in my opinion a bit overpriced. The portions were really small as well!!We got the Beef Carpaccio, Dorado fish (sea bream apparently in English :)), and a side of asparagus. My sister and I split pretty much everything :) I thought the dorado fish and asparagus were a bit bland, so beef carpaccio was my favorite dish. It was delicious!! Just wish the portion was a bit bigger ^^ Btw when we arrived, another woman was trying to get in to eat dinner by herself, and they told her a large wait time but allowed us in - so it does get busy in the evenings, and probably helps to come with at least two people! The servers were really nice and attentive. Besides us were mostly elderly Italians enjoying their meals, though we also overheard some other Americans. One group celebrated a man's birthday at this restaurant! We all sang happy birthday and it was really cute :)
Be the first to ReplyVERY pleasant evening.
Fantastic, flavorful food. It is not often that I lean back, close my eyes, and feel the flavors explode in my mouth.
Be the first to ReplyWe had dinner there a couple of days ago.
It's a nice place but watch out. There are two dining areas - one very nice and one average at best. Despite lots of room they sent us to the bad area and tried to seat us next to the waiter station - which incredibly noisy. We had to ask for a decent table...The waiter was completely useless in terms of recommending wine which is very rare in Rome in my experience. Normally people take pride in helping you find a good suitable wine. Overall the service was awful with long delays and almost rude comments. Bill didn't come because the staff was chatting noisily for 15 minutes. The food was hit and miss. Some dishes great, some questionable in terms of freshness and preparation. Stock with the pasta...Probably a great experience of you get a table in the nice area, but a complete rip off in the tourist section. It's easy to have a great meal in Rome, but at Tullio you have to fight for it. On top of it it's overpriced for both ambiance and food.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food and great food.
Our waiter Tony added to the experience. The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly.
Be the first to ReplyIt was a rainy night and we arrived without an appointment
It was a rainy night and we arrived without an appointment and we weren't dressed nicely as we'd been out all afternoon touring the city. Another restaurant recommended them because they did not have space for us. When we entered their establishment they asked us if we had an appointment when I answered "No", the waiter thought for a moment and they said to follow him. As we walked to our table I saw plenty of "reserved" signs on most of the tables and only a few patrons. I was concerned that they might seat us near the kitchen exit, but the table seemed adequately far enough away from that door. We took our soggy windbreakers off and sat down. The waiter dropped off some menus and brought us a bottle of still water. A few minutes later he came by and dropped from some bread and then asked if I wanted some wine. I ordered just a glass of the house red as I'm not a wine affectionado and my wife does not drink. He returned a few minutes later and took our order. Our appetizer arrived and we started to enjoy that when the waiter then brought us some oil for our bread but no vinegar, though I saw it on the counter across from our table. The restaurant began filling up shortly after 8pm and what I noticed was as the waiter picked up the silverware from the door across the table he was slamming the drawer shut and the sound of this and the silverware rattling interrupted our conversation. One time he came and left the drawer open so I slowly closed it so I didn't have to listen to him slam it again. We'll that seemed to annoy him because he came back and started throwing the clean silverware into the drawer. I was now beginning to feel more like an inconvenience than a paying customer trying have a nice dinner out with my wife. It was probably another 35-40 minutes before our meals were brought to the table. My wife had ordered something that I equated to buttered noodles and I had ordered the stuffed shells. Her response was although the appetizer was good tasting her noodles had too much salt and I thought my meal was good tasting though the portion size was a little smaller than I was expecting. The food was ok, but I was really disappointed with the way we were treated. Our bill was 60 Euro, but was probably only worth about 30 euro (in my book). I gave him a 10 euro tip because in the US a 15% tip is standard, and I didn't have any smaller change but I wished I'd had 1 euro to give him as a tip and a message. If I could do this experience over I would have asked for a different table or just walked out in the middle, but it was raining, we were hungry and I didn't want to embarrass my wife. I hope the restaurant reads this post and decides to take some action.
