Old style! Too old for modern Toronto!
Noisy restaurant with an old style style interior design. Tagliatelle with mushrooms overcooked and with a bit of too much wine flavour. Tiramisu was ok but service is really not adequate for this type of place and for the bill. A lot to improve to offer a modern and original Italian cooking menu.

Very nice small and cozy restaurant with great Italian food. Our waiter Frank was a star. Very friendly and efficient. We come again.

Lunch in Yorkville. The Caesar salad with a side of chicken was good but not the best we’d had on our trip. The burger was however very good. A good wine list accompanied the menu very well. A great location too and the service excellent.

Great location, great food and excellent service. Big snowstorm outside but the place was busy, showing how popular it is. Try the Braised Rabbit!
Be the first to ReplyThey are not interested if you have a concern.
I sent my concerns to the restaurant over a month ago. Nobody, has had the courtesy to respond to me. I made a reservation a month before my visit. I was never told that I was going to be seated in a tent at the back of the restaurant. After being seated in this tent I discovered that the floor of the tent was completely uneven and heaving/caving in certain areas. Every time the server walked by me the floor buckled lifting my whole chair up by multiple inches. I was also bumped multiple times by wait staff walking by. The movement of my chair multiple times was so uncomfortable that by the end of the night I felt motion sickness. This all could have been addressed by a courteous response to my complaint directly by the restaurant. Unfortunately, it appears that they are not interested in responding to complaints.

My daughter is a huge Drake fan and heard that he often frequents this restaurant so she wanted to go for her birthday on the chance that she would see him - FYI he showed up 30 mins after we left :( We had a large group so between us all we ordered quite a variety of dishes. It was good Italian fare, but certainly not the best considering the price. So if you go, just know that you’re paying for the prospect of “star” gazing, not the food. IMHO, Zafferano in Vaughan is SO much better for food quality and taste. Take note @champagnepapi

We had a wonderful date night at Sotto. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and the wines to pair with our dinner. Loved the food, the wine, the ambiance. 5 star experience.

service was attentive and friendly. Place is not stuffy, they packed and seating tables late into night - make reservations well ahead of time. Dress smart. Everything we had was good. Grill shrimp, pasta and veal. Would go back and want to try more dishes. Vince is the floor manager (or more?) checking everything,

I had a business dinner here in April 2022. I ordered fettuccini Bolognese which was very filling and delicious. My two guests also enjoyed their pasta dishes. The service was very good. The neighborhood near the restaurant on Avenue Road is very interesting and it is about a 10-15 minute walk from Bloor Street.

When you’re craving pasta and can’t decide between three dishes, you get them all!!
Have not dined in this restaurant for many many years. It was so nice to be back. Feels just like you’re eating in a restaurant in Italy. Everyone around you is speaking Italian and thoroughly enjoying their meal and company. Great ambiance and service!

Yorkville visit
The Hazelton booked a table for me at lunch. Great place , excellent environment .
Reminded me some of our restaurants in Nyc it’s small enough for different atmosphere yet still energetic with business people along with few visitors.
Food and service were top notch. I ll be back.
Delicious food and good service
We had lunch there, the food tasted delicious and good presentation, especially the octopus dish. The environment is elegant. This reminded me our previous trips to Italy. Also, the service was excellent , the staff members were nice and polite.

My husband and I had a super lunch at Sotto Sotto Toronto yesterday. I had the seafood spaghetti with a light tomato sauce. The squid, mussels and crab were perfectly cooked, sauce rich and delicious, and the pasta al dente. My husband had the Mediterranean sea bass. Grilled and deboned, again cooked to perfection. It came roast potatoes and broccoli. Pauli provided excellent service, frequently adding a little of the house Chardonnay to our glasses so it was always chilled. We finished with some fresh berries and coffees. Five stars!

Excellent service! The staff were absolutely lovely... everyone! They didn't have gnocchi on the menu and so I enquired about it, and they made it for me and it was superb! My husband enjoyed his pasta dish. Our desserts were fantastic. A very pleasant dining experience. Covid protection was in place. Felt very comfortable. Definitely coming back!

Fabulous
This was our second visit here. Exceptional quality. Presentation and taste of the meals was excellent. The appetizers, including the scallops, soups and salads were excellent. The pasta and fish dishes were great.

I guess space is a major factor with Toronto Downtown restaurants. The space is small and you just manage not bump into each other whilst eating 😊. The waiter was a very nice, chatty young man that was willing to go the extra mile. We asked for pina colladas, even though they didn’t have it on their drinks menu, he still made sure we got it.
The bread was a bit too hard for me and when we asked for it to be warmed up, it was toasted & partly burnt by the time they brought it back. If you don’t like noise and want some privacy, this is not the place for you.
Not authentic food at a high price
Not authentic food at a high price. Staff not up to standard for a restaurant of this price range. Not recommended if looking for a real Italian experience.
