food was good, but ordered one of their signature cocktails.
It was awful. We told our server right away and he offered to bring us something else. I'm always afraid to ask for a replacement of anything with fear of retaliation, so we said no. We didn't drink any of it, but still got charged the full $14 for the drink.

breakfast was very good, service gets a little overwhelmed when the breakfast crowd shows up. ambiance is very good, sound dampening is needed due to large crowds. Amanda is an amazing bartender. very hard worker and always attentive to customers
We stopped in last night for dinner as our first time there.
Place was packed, but we were seated quickly. Our server was fantastic!!! In fact, everyone working had a great and upbeat attitude. Our server explained they were busy and kitchen was running slow... it's Saturday night, so you expect that... we didn't care. We were served our appetizer quickly and also didn't have to wait for our dinners. Food was great... we had chicken nachos and brisket melts. We will definitely be back! You have a great staff all around!! Thank you for a great evening!!
The vibe of a cool bar and fusion restaurant is spot on.
Live plants, industrial vibe, with modern twists is the scene. There is a patio, bar, and quiet dining. The service was efficient, friendly, and all you could ask from the experience. Thanks Casey S. The Sushi was good but normal. Their rice bowls were awesome flavor explosions. I highly recommend.
Good food Good service Lots of different choices .

Hard to beat the outdoor space, with a variety of tables, a lounge area, outdoor bar, and plenty of shade. The bar area inside is gorgeous too, with exposed beams and lots of light and plants. The food has never blown me away, although I've never had anything bad, and there's a lot of variety, as well as a good kids menu. The ambiance and friendly service are what keep us coming back, and it's good enough to justify five stars.

I have come here several times for a casual meal, a family get-together, and to have a nice Friday or Saturday night with some live music and good drinks! I always enjoy coming to this restaurant as they have a unique menu that combines American classics with some Asian dishes as well! Went yesterday and had a Korean Rice bowl that included Korean brisket, sunny side up egg, veggies, rice, and a nice chili kick to top it all off! My mom had the roasted beet salad which was perfect for a warm summer day! Our bill came out to $45 and we left happy and full! The wait staff is younger and work fast even when the restaurant is pretty packed! Definitely recommend if you are in the Palmyra_PA area! Quality: 5/5 Customer service: 4/5 Cost: 4.5/5
Food was excellent, the waitress was polite.
Condensation from air conditioning showered our friends throughout the meal. They were unable to do anything about it due to a party in the room. Conversation was limited, unable to hear one another due to the noise level. The Rising Sun has been removed from our list.
Door dashed.
Food came hot so a plus of course. Pierogies are amazing as always. The wings, either I forgot or haven't had them but they're baked not fried, just not my thing.
Great food, great waitress, thank you, Cassie! Wonderful
Great food, great waitress, thank you, Cassie! Wonderful atmosphere! We will be back!
A fun find in Campbelltown!
The outdoor patio is beautiful! The service was spot on and the loaded nachos are AMAZING! Enough to share and have leftovers!
Below average at best
Sat at bar, food took a very long time & was cold when it arrived. I get that prices have gone up but for $18 burger I expect it to at least be warm. Server (bartender) was pleasant. Atmosphere is nice.
Nice restaurant in the heart of town...good food!
The food was surprisingly really good! I say this as some of the reviews lead me to believe it may be mediocre, but I had the smoked turkey leg dinner (they let me substitute the leg for turkey breast meat), and my wife had the steak dinner. Both entrees were delicious, and the vegetable sides were fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced. We had to wait 15-20 minutes on a Saturday night, and it was good to see the place (both sides- bar and restaurant) packed with people, just enjoying themselves in a nice atmosphere. Service was very friendly, and efficient. Would highly recommend.
Went to lunch with grandson's girlfriend and had a good time
Service wonderful, server was an young lady very kind ,outstanding, and friendly . Food great. We had a lovely spot, loved the warm feeling.
Can not make reservation.
How does one make a reservation for this restaurant. I have been trying for the last 1/2 hour. I have called the restaurant. I was told They do not take reservations by phone, I must make them on-line. I told them their on-line reservation was not working. I told them I tried and was told to keep trying. This is not a good start to what was to be a fun breakfast.
Fantastic stop on a road trip!!!
We were leaving Valley Forge toward Hersey and saw this on the side of the road. It was 100% fantastic!!! The server was great - Angela I believe. She recommended the pretzel braid with warm cheese dip and the salmon sandwich. I would NEVER order a salmon sandwich, but Iโm glad I did! Pretzel and sandwich were fantastic!!!! They have outdoor seating. They serve coke products. Go to this gem!!!!
We ate here for brunch two days in a row.
The food was delicious and the service was good (even though they were pretty busy both days). We came back the second day because there was so much on the menu that looked tasty, it was worth the return. Would definitely recommend for anyone in the area.

Service and atmosphere were awesome, food was little lacking. Coconut curry mussels, barely either taste was there, they also provided no where for me to put the shells (bowl is usually provided). Ordered a medium burger and got a well done. Crab cakes were lacking seasoning, great thing was that they were mostly crab (very little filling) nice plus.

Absolutely loved this place! I cannot wait to visit PA and dine here again. My family and I loved the vibe and the food. The place was pretty and service was great. Our waitress was helpful with navigating the menu and suggesting things to do in the area. I definitely recommend coming here, the food is amazing!
The food, atmosphere, and staff are amazing here.
We ate here 3 times during our stay in the area. Everytime the food was great. It's a very cute rustic vibe inside and the staff were always so friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend to anyone coming to the area.
Great service and food.
Really enjoyed our dinner there. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

We haven't been here since they added the new outdoor seating and additional space and wanted to check it out. I must say the food was not as good as it used to be and while I know everyone has had to raise prices it just wasn't worth what we paid. The brisket was stringy and chewy on the appetizer we ordered and while I always loved the sushi here this time it was just so so. My husband got a burger as they were always good but this time he said it wasn't that great. Could have just been an off day in the kitchen...and will say the new outdoor space is very nice (lots of loud traffic that day though so it's not an quiet outdoor space if that is your expectation) and our server was great.

My wife wanted to treat me out for dinner so we picked the rising sun bar. Seated before our reservation time which was great. Unfortunately that is where the positives ended. Our waitress was too busy having conversations with every table except ours. We were done with our dinner before we received our second round of drinks and were told that we could not cancel them since the bar already made them. Food was ok. I ordered the prime rib sandwich which was served with a side aue juice . However the waitress spilled the juice so my sandwich was soggy. Our meal was complete and took almost a 1/2 hour for our waitress to bring us our bill. Actually we had to track her down.We dropped 80 bucks plus tip. Will look for somewhere else next time we plan a date night. Hopefully someone will find this review helpful.

Thursday night this place is packed! The food is amazing and the cocktails are refreshing. I got the Poutine Brisket Fries- oh man- delicious! That with a side salad- I call that a balanced meal.
Disgusting customer service.
Ignorant staff. Will not give them my business. Can't make a reservation online or on the phone really ? Then told we can't be promised a table ? It's a restaurant in a small town and you are rude to a future customer. I'll take my business elsewhere. No time for bull. Plenty of other restaurants.

The food and our server were good! However, I made the reservation and requested we be sat outside. We were told there was a 15-20 minute wait as all of the tables were full. Totally understandable, but what was frustrating was not even 5 minutes after we were sat, a party of the same size was seated outside. We also were brought a high hair by the hostess that was soaking wet. When she brought it to our table she noted it was a little wet (complete downplay) and just left. Not sure why it couldn't have been dried off before it was brought to us. My toddler couldn't even sit in it because he would've been soaked. I think it would go a long way if small details like this were paid more attention too.

This place came so highly recommended that i was terribly disappointed in the quality of the food. Our server was wonderful, although very busy. I will not go back. If you are not a foodie, you'll be fine here. As i said, it was crowded and everyone seemed happy, except us.

Great place to meet up with friends for breakfast, good menu with lots of options. Will be back
Bada bing
This spot has everything you could want. Indoor and outdoor dining with bars, casual seating, and great menu. Brisket sandwich was excellent as were the loaded nachos.
This is our fifth time.
All meals were great and do was the service. Early happy hour prices are good too
Great ambience and interior design! Just wish my fiesta
Great ambience and interior design! Just wish my fiesta breakfast bowl had actual pieces of seasoned steak (as described in menu) than what appeared more like ground beef. Also wish there was more of the fresh salsa and spicy hollandaise sauce on top of the eggs. I didn't taste much of the salsa and even though the sauce on top was good, it didn't last long. I ended up dousing mine in a lot of Tabasco and sriracha for the extra kick of flavor I wish it had from the salsa. I think they were trying to make sure the hashbrowns underneath were still crispy but for some reason, I felt like it was a bit more overcooked and on the dry side than crispy/well cooked. They were busy but we were still able to get the attention of someone passing by for any help. My other friends seemed to like what they had, would be still willing to come back to try something else or maybe give the fiesta breakfast bowl another chance.

First discovered this local little establishment during covid when we were out this way for a hockey tournament (they had cute little igloos outside to dine in) so when we were coming back to the area it was on my lost of places to visit again! We did dine in on a Friday night and it was fairly busy, our service could of been a little better. Our waitress was a little bit slow, so that is why I gave it four stars. However, the food did not disappoint. We had a delicious sushi roll to start. My child had the kids mac & cheese, which was delicious not the typical boxed crap! My salad was amazing although it did say it was a roasted beet salad but the beets didn't really taste roasted, however, I was starving so I didn't ask because it was still amazingly delicious. The portion was huge. I took half of it back to my hotel for lunch for the next day! We finished with dessert. I had the peanut butter pie, which was so rich that I could not finish it. I had a little bit the next day and still had some left. My friend tried the cheesecake (which she did not love) & her daughter had the giant warm cookie with ice cream and loved it. Overall, this is a charming local establishment with a nice menu selection. The restaurant itself is very cute and quaint with exposed brickwork and the modern industrial Phil my kid came out of the bathroom and said oh my God you have to go to the bathroom. It's so nice! They also have done away with the igloos that were there when we first came but now they have a cute little courtyard with outdoor dining and they have an amazing happy hour!
Big Portions & Good Food and Service
Stopped in for Sunday Brunch, we were seated quickly, the cappuccino was delicious and in a large coffee mug, the portions were huge and the food was excellent.
Hershey, Hockey and Happy
My nephew Joey was playing in a thanksgiving tournament at Hershey! They won the tournament!! We ate at the restaurant after the championship game and we were not disappointed. Great service and great food! I had the brisket with the seafood chowder and my sister in law went all in on the appetizers: wings, pretzel, pierogis, and cauliflower for the table. All were great. My daughter did the chicken tacos, said they were delicious! No dessert: too full but they looked good
Great place
Amazing place with great food Something for everyone on menu. Will definitely return. Love it here.
Perfection with a Capital "P"
My significant other and I dined here on a Sunday evening. We hadn't been on a date in a very long time and were looking for a place with great ambience that was cozy, had good food, and that we could have a sense of privacy, and we definitely found it in The Rising Sun. From start to finish this was an awesome experience. Our server Katelyn was terrific, the food was delicious (sushi and boneless wings for appetizers - blackened shrimp tacos and Slow Cooked Prime Rib French Dip Sandwich and Seafood Chowder). We had a quiet little table in the corner in the bar area which was private, yet where we could still watch the Steeler/Raiders game, the restaurant itself is gorgeous with the raised ceilings and lighting, the stonework...I loved everything about it. It was a amazing night and an phenomenal date thanks in part to The Rising Sun (11:11/83/312). I highly recommend.
Dissapointin Lunch
Lovely spot, shame about the food, can't fault the service it's what came from the kitchen that was unexpected. We ordered the "Ploughman's" I've yet to find a ploughman's lunch without any sort of salad, we had "wilted peashoots" that was the salad, with soggy pickled onions that had spent far too long in the jar!!!! Mush, mush. The cheese was local, heaven's, not a good local cheese by far.. Come on you waterside pubs on the broads, you may think you can get away with serving sub standard food to boating people, as they will always move on (and not return!!!) I've been visiting the Norfolk Broads all my life and I feel the pubs need to get they're act together, smarten up, get your act together, don't think, oh well we are on the river ways and can sit back.. It's not just visitors by land but, but you have got so many more visitors by river. Don't think you can get away by serving this sort of food, otherwise the Norfolk Broads will "Truly Sink" Think on!!!!!
Bad experience
The food was ok but one of the tables had a group of 10 kids maybe 12 to 14 years old. The parents were in another room. They made so much noise and ran around so much everyone was looking at them. They were so loud we could not even hear each other talk. What kind of manager runs this place he or she could not even tell the kids to settle down. WOULD NEVER GO BACK THERE.
Poor quality food-band way too loud.
I grew up in the Hershey area. I have ate supper 3 times at the Rising Sun in the past 12 months and Iโve had terrible food, burnt-crunchy annd I did not eat it. My wife wasnโt happy about hers the last 2 times. Very r recently they had a band playing loud music prevented us from talking with the couples we went with, and we were in the back room. Iโm not a guy who complains to the waitstaff and sends food back. Iโm done with the Sun. Too badโฆ. Seems Funks is buying up a lot of local restaurantsโฆ. I hope this isnโt a trend.
Nice place, good food but a member of staff spoilt our visit.
We had a lovely meal here. Nice location and food was good. Sadly the attitude of one of the female members of staff put a damper on our meal here so we will likely not return.
Now missing "My Place" in my golden years.
I am presenting my feelings about our old Rising Sun. I feel this and am sure many other local citizens feel the same way. "Alas, our place has gone away. New owners have taken over, claimed the name, shuttered it to remodel and restaff. They are open now, and no matter how bright and shiny their enterprise is, it won't be the same. Thus, I mourn."
