Restaurant Pantagruel Paris Reviews from The Last Year
My friends and I came here on a Saturday night,
My friends and I came here on a Saturday night, unfortunately feeling quite ill, but really wanted to try dinner so made it out anyway. We didn't get any drinks but did get the duck liver as it seemed to be the most popular dish on Yelp. We all loved the traditional version, couldn't get behind the pan seared version. If you don't love odd textures I would stick to the original. We got cucumber soup and french onion soup. The cucumber soup was okay, I mainly ordered it for the refreshing aspect to help with my stomach. If you are going to order a soup, go for the French onion soup. For entrees we got the duck which was pretty good, the mussels which does come with a lot of them, and the lobster and scallops which was an incredible dish. And a side of truffle mashed potatoes which were also very very good. By the time we finished these we were starting to feel better and didn't want to push our luck with dessert. Overall the food was great, the staff was nice, the place was decorated nicely and gave the vibe of an anniversary dinner which was nice. I'm excited to come back when I'm feeling better to be able to try more!
Such a lovely restaurant.
Cheese platter was delicate. Wine was delightful- anytime we can find a RED Sancerre we are happy! Such a pretty spot to have lunch on a beautiful day!

A typical French brassiere from your onion soup to your steak frites . The best dish was the sole meunière, fresh and well prepared. Otherwise an unremarkable meal in a somewhat noisy restaurant. Would not return, many other options available.
La Voile .
.. One of the worst experience of my life. Horrible smell at the entrance followed by an odor plume of filthy sweat. Food was a bad caricature of french cuisine. We got the menu a la carte and the main course, the canard confit, came out of an hospital canteen. The service was sloppy and filthy. Food fell on the floor when removing plates and nobody came to clean. Finally, when we asked for a digestif drink, waiters refused to serve us. Apparently the bartender was gone. It seems very hard to open a bottle these days... I sincerely recommend to avoid it.
Live the experience and enjoy
Well. The welcome has been very cordial, they take care of you and make you feel as if you were at home. Even though they don't speak Spanish very well, you can see the effort and great effort to communicate everything you eat, truly those are things that one values a lot. I had to sit in front of the kitchen where I could see the professionalism of everyone in the kitchen, how they prepared every detail. Food and pairing are a fantasy and an opening to a portal of unique flavors that will be part of a great experience. Should we go? Absolutely. THANK YOU SO MUCH
Worthy of its Michelin star
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Pantagruel. The lunch menu was priced at 65 euros and included an entrée, a main course (fish or veal to choose) and a dessert. As a trademark of chef Jason Gouzy’s cooking, each beautifully presented and delicious course showcased a single ingredient and comprised 3 complementary dishes. There’s an interesting interplay of textures and flavours. I paid a supplement to try croq-homard, a signature dish of the chef. It’s definitely the best part of the meal. The restaurant was full on the day of my visit so it’s advisable to book ahead.
We had a tremendous dinner.
i had duck breast cooked medium rare and it was perfectly prepared- sliced over dark lentils. My wife had roast chicken which was a large portion and she loved the remainder for lunch today (note it takes 45 minutes to cook so decide ahead and order upon seating). Our server, Mauro, was excellent. He was there anytime we wanted him and never Interrupted us when we were in obvious conversation with the couple who joined us. Great value and a very good time. We would happily return.

A one-star Michelin restaurant with a unique and original concept, modern French cuisine in Paris
Lunch course €65+ Lobster sandwich €20 ・A beautiful yet relaxed atmosphere with a white and blue theme. ・Three dishes are served to the table as one plate, each with a common ingredient and approached in a completely different way, creating a new concept ・All staff members provide warm and polite service ・In the stylish toilets, French conversations are played as audio during meals, which is interesting ・A restaurant that incorporates original ideas in many aspects, giving you a sense of creativity
Great French food in a cozy place.
The service and food were great ! Great location

Great customer service, the waiters are so attentive and take the time to explain each dish on the menu. Food is great especially Foie gras.
Went to Boston for vacation.
Was walking pass this place so decided to check it out. Great food, service and ambiance.
Christmas Eve at La Voile was amazing.
From the service, to the food, to the ambience it was top notch. The Onion Soup was perfection with great flavor and the perfect amount of cheese. For the main course it was the Le Filet de Boeuf - Beef Tenderloin with a peppercorn sauce. The beef was not only flavorful but melted in your mouth. With dinner and a glass of wine, we passed on desert as we were full. And our waiter was amazing. Friendly, funny, and the perfect service
My sister and I had dinner reservations this evening.
We usually go watch the Nutcracker every year since 2014 but we switched it up this year and decided to make it a tradition to hit every French cuisine we can in the city of Boston and we're so happy we made this our first choice! From the moment we entered to the very last moment we left everything was fabulous! Loved the dim lighting had a nice cozy feel. I highly recommend the pouched pear for dessert! Thank me later. Great experience Cheers
Perfect for a special occasion
We chose this restaurant as the main event of a day trip to Paris from London. It didn't disappoint, the service was exceptional with friendly staff who were polite without being obsequious. We went for the three chapter tasting menu, but added the lobster sandwich extra course and the goats cheese course. The lobster sandwich was sublime and well worth the extra. Round that off with a well thought through wine pairing and we had a thoroughly satisfactory experience. This restaurant is perfect for as special occasion and going at lunchtime gives space to give the food the respect it deserves.
Must be tried to be believed…
Pantagruel came recommended, but by far outstripped expectation… Is a small ( but perfectly formed…) brigade of just 9 staff, but with just 24 covers the attention to detail was fantastic… Welcomed into a cosy crescent shaped banquette with views across the open kitchen the menus ‘looked’ sparse … and perhaps the choices ARE simple…but the level of complexity and thought that has gone into each chapter (course) is something to behold… Flavours, textures, colours, aromas and combinations have all been painstakingly developed to produce miniature masterpieces every time… Thought provoking, talking points with every ‘introduction and ‘reveal’ expertly explained and delivered. Wine pairings …masterful and again presented with a level of individuality and professionalism worthy of the meal. Can’t pass on the recommendation highly enough… Obviously
Weak and bland.
Weak in terms of flavors, cold and mechanical in the waitress and sommelier service. No one was interested in pleasing our table. My family and I went to celebrate my eldest son's graduation and it was horrible. The chef wants to appear friendly by going to the tables but he is presumptuous, stuck up and worst of all, he doesn't accept criticism. The triad of dishes tasted like nothing. The food at my house is much better. It would have been better to go to a restaurant whose Michelin star was justified.
Michelin star??
It intrigues me how on earth should such a poor and tasteless food entitle this pretentious restaurant to a Michelin star ... waiters are rude, sommelier not knowledgeable, sassy and self-righteous chef that doesn't take comments or sugestions ... looks rather like a Monty Python screenplay!
The beautiful and great French gastronomy
Here, in my opinion, is the perfect balance to illustrate great French cuisine. Pantagruel is precisely the right balance between bistronomic cuisine (not elaborate enough) and the overly heavy coding of the big Michelin stars (not to mention the score). If I were a foreigner and I was offered this meal that demonstrates French gastronomy, I would ask to come here. The dishes are magnificently well thought out, hyper-balanced in flavors, the presentation is sublime. The service is a well-practiced ballet. Only happiness so go for it!

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
