Ramsay's Kitchen Naperville Reviews from The Last Year
Wont go back
Our waitress was great. I think her name was Diana. Other than that the rest lacked. Look at the photos of how empty the place was and it took 32 min to get two salads, a soup and a shrimp appetizer. The shrimp was tasty but come on a tasteless Caesar salad from Gordon Ramsey. Won be going back.
Five stars.
No question. Elevated food. Elevated service (Thank you, Christine!). We will absolutely be back again... and again... and again.
Gordon Ramsay's was Exactly what I thought it was going to
Gordon Ramsay's was Exactly what I thought it was going to be! Extremely prompt and wonderful service- seating was easy, the staff moves like fine machinery and beautiful scenery. Parking in that area is going to be a bit harder than usual since there is construction happening over there. I had the famous beef wellington, glass of red wine & sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Because the wellington was such a big deal on his show, I definitely went in with high hopes- it was good! Nothing shockingly amazing or insane flavor. Very simplistic, good and steady. Now the pudding???? Outstanding. I am not a big fan of bread puddings since they are usually loose in texture but this was a firm, delicious and sweet dessert. I know I wouldn't be able to get that anywhere else and that's why I had to rate it a 5 out of 5 experience. Would I do the Wellington again? Probably not now that I have tried it but the dessert, absolutely. If I had to nitpick, chopped nuts on it would have been perfect. I'm going back with one of my girlfriends on Friday!

Food: good (3*) to excellent (5*) Starters: Crab cake & tuna tartare - 5* Main entrees: Beef Wellington, Filet Mignon, and Idiot Sandwich - 4.5*; Bransino and Fish and Chips - 3.5* Dessert: Sticky Toffee - best ever... 5* Service (Roxy) - 5* - very friendly service, good recommendations. Only complaint is that our drinks were rarely refilled. But she more than made up for it by running to the parking lot to hand us our CC that we accidentally left behind. Thank you! Value: 3* - although the food was delicious... Very pricey. I suppose it was expected due to the initials over the revolving door. Overall: Celebrated my son's 21st birthday. Great experience. Thank you, RK staff. Other: Located in downtown Naperville. Parking lots near by. Casual attire. 3 stalls in small ladies bathroom - ok.

Recently stopped by to celebrate two birthdays - mine and my daughter's 16th. We had a great experience as soon as we walked in! Super friendly and helpful staff and amazing food options. I've always wanted to try scallops so we ordered some as an appetizer and they were perfection..and I'm not a seafood fan for the most part! I loved that they have specials that are off menu because our server recommended the roast and it was hands down the best birthday meal I've ever had (and I love to try different upscale spots for birthdays). The meat was so delicious and tender. My daughter had a steak with chimichurri on top and she said it was seasoned perfectly and was great. For dessert we tried the Strawberry Eton Mess. It was so light and not too sweet..a perfect dessert for us to share. The staff surprised us with sticky toffee pudding for each of us with a candle too! That was so nice! Overall we had a great birthday experience and will be back in the future :)
Top-notch service, delicious food, perfect ambiance.
I loved it. Idiot sandwich was terrific.
Went to naperville location last night.
The fish was wayyyy too salty, inedible. Beef wellington was ok but defineatly not a 69.00 dish. We had to ask a different waiter TWICE to fetch our waiter. We will not return!
I'm not sure that I will come back here))) I couldn't enjoy
I'm not sure that I will come back here))) I couldn't enjoy the food, the most offensive thing was that it was recommended by the waiter. My Fish and chips was raw inside.
Burger was dry and flimsy.
Definitely not $22 burger. Fries were good. The wife had the crab cake and she loved it, but to me, it was nothing special. Daughter had the "idiot" sandwich--I believe it's a short rib sandwich. She only ate half and didn't enjoy it. She preferred the ribeye sandwich last time she was there, but it wasn't on the menu. I don't see this lasting long. Also, they were selling the heck out of the beef Wellington. Maybe I should have spent the $69 for it.
The restaurant experience was fantastic, with delicious
The restaurant experience was fantastic, with delicious food and enjoyable atmosphere. I had a wonderful time with friends.
You may think this is just another famous celebrity chef
You may think this is just another famous celebrity chef restaurant with over priced items and sub par food. I can tell you that you are far from incorrect. Not only is the ambience of this place outstanding but it's the little things that add a touch. From the open kitchen that makes you feel as though you are part of home or immersed in a real life kitchen competition where you see the chef and all the action along with every dish that goes out. But you also have the details on the lights in the dining area which are shaped like the UK flag the more you look around you realize there is a mix of history from Naperville with a splash of GR's UK heritage. Ok so let's get to the food. The rolls, I mean seriously you can't go wrong with brioche buns with salted butter. Definitely a must. But let's get to the heart of what makes this man who he is. Along with why this place thrives. The scallops and pork belly with the apricot squash. The flavor from the sweat apricot then the saltiness of the pork belly with the melting of the fat and the buttery smooth scallop. No words can describe how your entire pallet is feeling, the party that goes on. Your taste buds go from 0 to 1k and then to sadness as nothing is left in your mouth but the memory so you go back for bite 2. The asparagus and the Parmesan cheese with the lemon zest and butteriness like how is this possible that an asparagus can taste so amazing. Oh and the snap but yet not over cooked nor undercooked. The brócolini and the spiciness from the garlic but not so overpowering that it's not satisfying and the toasted garlic that just makes you want more. I know you want to hear about the salmon and how it's just perfection with the crispy skin that's like a thin crack with flavor but not fishy not salty like I can't stop eating this chip. The steak frits and the sauces I mean every dish I tried I could smell the ingredients I could taste them they all worked so well together. The end the chocolate tart that chocolate layer that goes into the salted carmel it like being a kid again and tasting candy for the first time, like the sweet moment you realize this is life. Yes it was that good. I can't wait till my travels bring me back to this place. I dream of the Wellington and trying many other dishes.
Best fish fry I have had.
Huge portion of quality fish and good fires. Ramsey's is an expensive for the food but good menu.
Good, but not for a romantic time.
Food was very good, except the chips under the fish were soggy. Service was leisurely (went on a Sunday evening). Prices were what I expected at this type of restaurant. The place is long with doors at both ends. With both doors opening and closing, it was a bit chilly inside. It is also loud, tables are close together, so carrying on a conversation with someone at the other end of the table was challenging. This was our first time there to celebrate my son's and step mother-in-law's birthdays. Being about an hour from where I live, it will be awhile before we return. There are equally good and similarly priced restaurants closer to home.

Had an amazing dining experience with family here! Our servers Adam and Shelly really made the night memorable. Adam made the best recommendations. We enjoyed every dish. The Tuna Tartar was a fan favorite. Shelly was extremely attentive and took the time to connect with us. Our table was always cleaned, and she made sure our glasses were never empty.
Just celebrated myself, my husband and my sons birthday.
We're all March babies at Ramsey's kitchen. Big thanks to the staff, Adam and Shelly at the restaurant they did an awesome job explaining the specials and making great recommendations. Adam was especially knowledgeable in explaining the menu items and Shelly treated us like family, The hanger steak was amazing the crabcakes the best ones we've had outside of Baltimore , And the cocktails are top shelf. Thank you so much for making a special occasion truly memorable.
For me and my wife's first time going, it was okay.
The food was great, drinks were great and our server Shannon was awesome!! It was our 15th Anniversary and our server made us feel special, but the manager not chef did. Master of fact the manager never came to greet us at all the while time we were there. He visited other tables, but not ours. We thought that was disheartening since this was our first time there and wanted to celebrate our anniversary at a new place.
Well, what can we say except excellent place, great food
Well, what can we say except excellent place, great food great service, will most certainly be back
We had high expectations going in and they were all
We had high expectations going in and they were all exceeded! Food was excellent, service perfect and atmosphere simply beautiful. Crab cake delicious, the Beef Wellie did not disappoint and the Chicken Milenese was scrumptious. Dessert had to be Sticky Toffee Pudding and it was perfection. Yes, this is a pricey place to dine but worth every penny.
Hello everyone, I have a certain opinion about this
Hello everyone, I have a certain opinion about this wonderful restaurant, they just don't know how to cook ((((((The unfriendly hostess put us in the corner of this hangout, the girl waiter was at the height of her service and sold us ribs from a special menu, I did not agree) We ordered appetizers, they are terrible, it's hard to spoil tuna) the crabcake in Costco tastes better) if it weren't for the wine! it's impossible to eat! we ordered the main course, waited 30-40 minutes, fish chips are just disgusting fish in raw batter, HORROR, macaroni and cheese for a child is just nauseating, my the stadium was confused with meat they moved the wrong thing !!!!! Oh God how is this possible !!!! stop putting up with this !!!!! bill 200 $ pleasure 0-100 (my birthday is destroyed!!!!!! I'm not being picky, I'm stating a fact /// and there's also a bearded cook chewing in the kitchen ((((Naperville has a lot of delicious places!!! )))) it's better to watch it on TV (
Good food, good service.
Got in last second on a walk in. Beef Wellington was not all the hype but I think that is more of a regional preference.
Probably nothing new to add.
Expensive? Yes. Definitely a special occasion place. Service is amazing. Friendly, attentive, enthusiastic staff all around. Great suggestions from our waitress. Pace of the meal was good. Ordered tuna tartare as appetizer. A wonderful salty flavor served with meticulously sliced avocado. Main was beef Wellington, of course. My wife had chicken Milanese. The Wellington was wonderful as you'd expect. Is it worth $70? Tough to judge. When you think about a high end ribeye or filet, it's a close comparison. Like I said, it's pricey. The chicken also delicious, nicely fried in a light sauce. Drinks are top notch, a touch of sweetness. The vibe doesn't feel stuffy or snooty, but you do get a sense of high end quality about the place. My wife thought it was a touch loud. Went on a Wednesday night. It was well visited, crowded but not jam packed. Seemed to be well staffed and running at high efficiency. My one nit was at dessert (sticky toffee pudding, oh so good). Wife ordered an espresso martini and it didn't come out until we were about done with the dessert. By no means a disaster. Only noticed it because everything else was so well paced.
Food was really good! Crab cake was really good.
Sticky toffee pudding is the best dessert ever. The service was great. The decor was nice. The ambience is really nice . This is a must try.
Worth the credit card debt! Ask for Dylan as a Waiter, he’s awesome!
I cannot say enough good things about our experience. From the restaurant itself with the decor and ambience to the flavor explosions on our pallets. I am absurdly impressed with the response to my notes that I made on my reservation. When I made them, I honestly didn’t think anyone would pay attention to them, and was pleasantly surprised when our waiter knew everything that we were there for, and congratulated everything that we were celebrating. I feel like our group of six had the best table in the house and we loved our entire experience. The one thing that I would have even a tiny complaint about is the chicken entrée that we ordered WAS my favorite thing out of the five entrées that we had, and four appetizers. (Actually all the desserts were my favorite) But when it comes to the food portion, my first bite of the chicken was phenomenal but it became my least favorite aside from the salmon because I just don’t like fish. And the reason it became my least favorite was the chicken at one part of it was over salted and almost inedible, I ate it because once I had it with the other items on the plate, it was palatable, but it was hard to eat. It should be said that it was only on certain portions of the piece of chicken that we received. The parts that were salted normally were absolute perfection. I prefer a less oily fish & chips but I have a personal thing for excess oil. And I wished for more with the Parker rolls (they were great flavor, salted butter was perfect but I didn’t get any herb flavor. It was so enjoyable to watch the chefs do their craft and I think that is such a cool thing about your restaurant. Also want to make note of the serving plates and utensils. The porcelain was awesome and the steak knives were some of the best feeling knives I’ve ever had in my hands. My afterthoughts aside from all of the positive things that I’ve already said, and will stay here in a moment is of how much I wish more people had access to this restaurant and experience. I am left, feeling extremely privileged that we were able to save up the money to come and have this experience as a family. And I know that something like this is not feasible for a lot of people, and it left me feeling kind of ambivalent honestly. But I do understand that’s more of a societal thing and not necessarily an issue of your establishment. The last thing I want to highlight is your staff. The gentleman that was managing that night, I didn’t catch his name, was warm and attentive. He helped bring our food to our table, and I also spoke to him privately before we left about our server and he was personable and awesome. Now about our server. I cannot say enough good things about Dylan. He was beyond phenomenal. And I know it’s his job and I know that you guys probably pay him well to do his job, but I feel like he executed everything that he was supposed to do with excellence. We didn’t have to really ask for anything. He knew everything that we were there to celebrate, and he answered every question that we had about the food. He engaged in polite and friendly conversation with us. He was warm and inviting, and is seriously amazing at his job and I feel like he’s probably a pretty great human in general. When we save up some money and are able to come back again it is my hope that Dylan is still there so that we can request him as our server because he was seriously amazing! Thank you for this memory, we will carry it with fondness. Also didn’t have a pic of the sticky toffee pudding but it was one of our favorite things all night. Favorite app: sticky cauliflower wings, truffle fries, potato purée Favorite entree: filet & the chicken (minus the excess salt) Favorite dessert: sticky toffee pudding & cranberry eton mess Last side note: not to gloat, I know it’s Ramsays thing, and the Wellington was excellent, don’t get me wrong. That being said my husband said he preferred the overall flavor of my homemade beef Wellington. 😊😉
Food was very good, but not good for the price
This was a must since my family and I have been to Ramsay Burger in Chicago and Fish and Chips in Orlando. Now we have to try the signature dishes. Everything was good. I had the Filet, which was cooked perfectly and the sauce was great. The only side I got was charred tomato. All of that was $58. My teenage son had the Beef Wellington which was good, but not $69 mind blowing good. My wife had the Chicken Milanese which, in her words, seemed better at Cheesecake Factory. That was $28 Daughter had butter noodles which was $10 and had no complaints. Like I said, everything tasted great. The only complaint is small portions for high prices.
A good meal
Our first visit and son and I thought the RK burger was excellent. The toffee pudding was a big hit at our table. It isn’t cheap but a nice time
Fourth and last visit
This was our fourth visit and maybe our last. Service was sluggish, despite our well-meaning server filling in for someone. But food service has gone downhill since our first visit. I still like the tuna tartare but even that is sloppily presented. I no longer order the scallops (tasteless) or the beef wellington (cold). Tonight, even the the un-screwable salmon was not so good.
Great Expirience!!
The wait was very little since there weren't many people. Our server was very nice and polite, but when we asked for something, like a refill of drinks, it did take a while. The place has great lighting and the mood is very calm. The food was great! There was one item that didn't completely fit my expectations, and that was the Fish and Chips. It was way too oily for my liking. Everything else was amazing, the sauces on the wings and the sides of dishes, the meat was well cooked, and the veggies were fresh. For my first experience at a Gordon Ramsay restaurant, it was a nice place, though I'd order something other than the fish and chips next time.
Good food presented well.
We were there for lunch. We started with a mocktail of which they had several tempting to chose from. Nice departure from ice tea when you are going back to work. Ordered scallops. 4 large scallops perfectly cooked and elegantly presented. My friend and I split a garden salad with apples that was a great accompaniment. The wait staff was wonderful.
Another great Gordon Ramsay meal
This place was casual, busy, quick, delicious, but a bit a loud. We went as a party of 5 adults and a toddler with reservations at lunch and were seated right away. Our waitress was great! We kept asking for little things but telling her she could ring it out whenever she had to come back again or got around to it but she would bring it right to us, no matter how many times we asked for things. We got the crab cake, burger, fish and chips, chicken milanese, harvest salad, salmon, kids Mac and cheese, carrots, and truffle fries and it all was very good. The portions are large but if you’re hungry you can clean your plate. Would definitely go back at dinner for the beef wellington!
First Time. This Happened.
I went to this restaurant yesterday and sat for an hour with no food or basic restaurant hospitality. So, this is what I did... To set the stage. I made a reservation for 1:30. We arrived around 1:05 and they immediately seated us because they had capacity. Since it was our first time as guests, we carefully reviewed the menu and made our selections, then placed the order. My friend was served a salad, and when we inquired about the other dishes, we were informed that she had not put the order in. What?? 😳 We have been sitting here for 20 minutes since you received the order, and the kitchen doesn't have it??? 35 minutes later, I hailed the waitress and expressed my disappointment in wait time (considering the area had since filled with new customers who filled their bellies and were emptying their plates). Then, I canceled my order. The waitress goes to the kitchen and returns 3 minutes later to the table with food that we ordered over 50 minutes ago. Since I had canceled my order, I promptly asked her to return the food to the kitchen. She asked. "You don't want it?". I replied "No". But let me be clear....No. NO to the lack of attentiveness. NO to the poor hospitality. NO to sub-standard service. NO to the neglect. NO to feeling de-prioritized. NO to not being a valued customer. Absolutely NO. The manager stopped at our table to make amends. But since I had canceled my order, there was not much more that he could do. 🔪Was I disappointed? Yes. 🔪Will I return? I highly doubt it. 🔪Would I recommend this restaurant? 🤔 Sure, give it a try and let me know your thoughts.
Great Restaurant! Dishes are definitely specific to Chefs taste preferences.
The restaurant as a whole is great. The service was absolutely wonderful, and I could not ask for better service. My wife had the crab cake, and I had the sticky wings for appetizers. The crab cake was fresh and flavorful, and the sticky wings were to die for. My wife ordered the butternut tagliatelle, she was in heaven. I had the beef wellington, and well it was good, but the parma ham in the dish was a bit too perfumy for my taste. It took away the flavor from the beef and the dish did not really seem to come together. To round out our dinner with dessert we had sticky toffee pudding and cranberry eton mess. The pudding was amazing and i could have eaten that for all three courses! The eton mess was good but a bit heavy on the citrus which really thew off the overall balance of the dish. I guess the big question would be would I go again? My answer is absolutely YES. The atmosphere and service was awesome, and I would love to try other dishes.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability

Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
