hawk walk!!!
Have done a couple of other visits to birds of prey centers, this one stands out, did the walking hawk tour, highlight of trip to area. Traveling w 14 yr old son who is knowledgeable about the creatures and he was enchanted. Great guide and beautiful setting. Didn't spend much time in the center it self, but it appeared nicely done.
Be the first to ReplyOne of the Best Experiences in the Burren... and that's saying something!
Such a valuable experience! Every time I visit, I learn something new. This time was no exception. Instead of a Hawk Walk, which I do heartily recommend, I 'adopted' one of the birds and was privileged to have a few minutes of private flying time with my adoptee. The falconers are quite professional and show true caring and respect for the birds they handle. I have donated to the WWF for the preservation of endangered species for years, and now truly wish all of those monies could have been donated to this centre. They do such amazing work, and are provided such a valuable function! Do visit if you are in the area of the Burren, or, perhaps make a special trip!

Absolutely loved this experience. The handlers were informative and funny and the birds were great. Highly recommend!

This is well worth a look. The display by the birds and the commentary by the guides are excellent. I’ll bet the adults would also like the birds on their arms!
Be the first to ReplyCan't do the show on it's own anymore
I've been to see the birds of prey show many times over the years. Used to be you could just buy a ticket to see the show for 15 euro, however now you need to buy it together with an alliwee cave tour for 24 euro, why they removed the ability to buy a ticket to just see the bird show I don't know but it's an awful decision in my view.

Well thought out show. Very good for kids, but enjoyable for adults as well. The birds are well cared for and a delight to watch.
Be the first to ReplyCost prohibitive if only want to do Birds of Prey and not the caves
The Birds of Prey centre itself was fantastic! The staff doing the flying displays were brilliant..so informative, engaging and funny. If it was just down to the birds of prey centre I would hands down be giving it 5 stars. Unfortunately though you are now being forced to pay for the caves visit even if you choose not to do it. We have been visiting the birds of prey centre every year for years now with our 3 children and we have loved it everytime. We have visited the Aillwee caves before also but due to health reasons it is not something I can now do. I feel it is so unfair to force visitors to pay for both the caves and the birds of prey and not give the choice to just do one as has been the case every year up to now. So disappointed as we will not be returning next year due to the cost involved when only going to the Birds of Prey. Such a shame they have changed their policy.

We really enjoyed our visit and it was a treat to see the birds flying and walking close to us. Each bird was introduced by a different handler who gave an interesting talk about the lifestyle of the bird, and asked questions of the audience. My husband was lucky enough to be able to hold the barn owl and this was quite a treat.

Loved!!!! Fantastic experience seeing the impressive birds in their aviaries and then getting to meet some close up, when we got to hold one ourselves. Dyson the condor made quite an entrance and all birds did their best to perform in near gale winds. Handlers were knowledgeable and informative and entertaining. Clear to see the birds are well cared for and also good to know that this centre contributes to conservation of species around the world. My youngest got a little bored but he made a stone picture instead. Highly recommend.

Brilliant experience, fascinating shows (managed to catch two with a trip to the cave in-between!) Very informative and entertaining
Be the first to ReplyAmazing place to go
Birds of prey centre, what a place to visit! So many birds and we also took in the flying display..jenny and James were amazing with the birds and had loads of information..so amazing to see these birds up close and some of them flying in the display.. My son was so excited to go see these birds and wasn't dissapointed..left one happy chap!! Birds are well looked after and cared for.. Would recommend to anyone to go suitable for small children to adults, times vary from 31st Aug for the birds displays but you can do the alliwee cave first and have time to go back down!

We visited the Birds of Prey centre this week. Sorroundings are spectacular as was the weather. The flights of the birds was amazing. Their speed, agility, stealth (Owl) all impressed. The staff were friendly and passionate about these beautiful birds of prey. I'd highly recommend a visit
Be the first to ReplyDisappointed.
Extremely disappointed. It is not cheap. We were here probably 10 years ago and were excited to be returning, while the grounds and aviaries have improved, the show was very disappointing two birds! We have been to many shows around the country and Europe and this has to be the most disappointing, a barn owl and hawk ten minutes, while the staff were informative, the duration was not satisfactory, most other shows are at least an hour. Wont be recommending this tour and I don't give a dissatisfied review lightly.
Be the first to ReplyINCREDIBLE!!! Walk with a Hawk and Birds of Prey Show
NOT TO BE MISSED. The whole experience was amazing from start to finish and the highlight of our weeks holiday in Doolin. Walking throw the woods with Juan the Harris Hawk was bucket list stuff. Being so close to such a beautiful bird was exhilarating. Lucy our falconer was so knowledgeable and was so good at handling and coaching the bird. Myself, my husband and my 6 year old son all got the opportunity to call the hawk and we literally could have spent the whole morning with Lucy and Juan. We will definitely be back to do this again.
