We enjoyed excellent fish and chips and a fabulous rib .All beautifully cooked.wonderful old building full of character. Great service as well .Highly recommend .We enjoyed the walk there along the river from our city centre hotel .About 20mins ,or an easy drive .
Food pub grub
Went here for dinner Found large selection of beers at reasonable prices Good food for the money Friendly polite staff If you’re looking for a hearty meal that’s not too fancy this is your place
You have to try this place
The food was amazing The service was first class The staff are so friendly The place was spotless The beer was out of this world I will be back
2 out of 3 ain’t good
Cosy bar quite busy on a Thursday night. Met up with colleagues for dinner. When the food arrived we were advised to taste before adding salt. Good advice! My seafood chowder was saltier than the Dead Sea which had been over compensated with an abundance of lemon oil. Inedible. I did inform the waitress who said she would tell the chef. I guess that was it, no feedback, no apology, no further comment. To add balance, 2nd colleague had sausage and mash, salty but just acceptable, 3rd, fish and chips was lovely. Maybe just a bad night but less can be more
So sad how things have changed
Pommeroy’s was once the exemplar of a community pub - A place of community and hospitality. It was a sanctuary during the upheaval of the earthquakes. Unfortunately after several visits in recent months, it can be characterised as an overpriced pub with limited bistro food and poor bar service - with no interest in making punters feel welcome, or a sense of getting to know the community. Why spend $15 for a beer with poor service & disappointing food? Better off at a Speight’s ale house for value & service… Times were more inviting when Steve met you at the bar and even if he didn’t remember you or your whānau he would still make you feel like he did. After being a semi regular since 2004 we won’t be back soon

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
