We had a lovely lunch out on the patio our first day in Los Angeles. It did not disappoint. The service and food were excellent. The people watching was fun too— a couple of celebrities, ladies who lunch (with their Birkins), other tourists no doubt and maybe even a few film producers. It’s a must stop when in Beverly Hills!

I hate to write a bad review of such a venerated and old institution, but I feel that I have no choice. I went there a couple of weeks ago for a lunch with a friend and the meal was dismal. I had the peach and goat cheese salad. The peaches were mealy and the lettuce had brown edges. Honestly, the version I had had Mendocino Farms was so much fresher and tastier. And for probably a third of the price! Also, the whole place is looking a little seedy these days. Everything could just use a refresher. The place should not rely on its reputation only. Get back to making it what it once was please!

Checked it out for dinner with a friend who was in town.
Had a very kind and knowledgeable server who was able to perfectly plan our courses. Here's what we tried tonight: 1. Peaches and Gorgonzola salad: superb salad. Peaches were fresh and sweet. Combined with arugula , Gorgonzola blue, caramalized pecans, and perfectly dressed with vinaigrette. Yummy. Must order 2. Rigatoni Bolognese: braised beef Ragu with chive. Was ok. Have had better. Wish they would have used the big thick rigatoni instead. 3. Spaghetti with olive oil and citrus base. Assortment of fresh asparagus, cherry tomatoes, olives and zucchini. Spectacular. This was not on the menu but was specially requested by our server and it was splendid. 4. Had my usual ole fashion. My friend had a specialty cocktail but can't remember the name at the moment. 5. Chocolate soufflé: of course had to try the signature soufflé. And of course it was delicious. Make sure you order a little ahead of time as it take 20 minutes to make.

We came to the Polo Lounge for a special night with friends, prepared to spend serious money, and were met with the coldest, most unwelcoming energy from the moment we arrived. My boyfriend, notably, the only Black man in the room, was singled out immediately over his jeans, which had two small rips. The policy wasn't applied equally, as we saw guests inside wearing flip-flops, midriff tops, and open-toe shoes -- all against their posted dress code -- yet no one said a word to them. He left to buy new pants in the hectic Century City mall, came back in compliance an HOUR later and finally sat down -- only for the owner himself to walk over within seconds and tell him to remove his HAT!. This had never been mentioned when we first arrived; the only "problem" discussed was the jeans. He had a fresh gash on the back of his head, sensitive skin from being bald, and it was 90° in Los Angeles, so he wanted to wear a hat but then just needed a moment to eat a fry and settle in before taking it off. Instead, less than 90 seconds later, the owner came back even more aggressively, flanked by three security guards, making it clear Max would be removed if he didn't comply immediately. The entire thing felt unnecessarily hostile, selective, and humiliating. The staff was robotic, cold, and not once did anyone try to make us feel welcome. And after all of that, the food was a complete letdown. Drinks are over $20 and mostly ice. I ordered the spinach tagliatelle -- zero flavor. My boyfriend's lobster risotto? Bland. My friend's crab cake? Lifeless. Her husband's salmon? Equally disappointing. None of us are quick to criticize food, but there wasn't a pinch of seasoning in any of it. It was so bad I didn't even want to take my leftovers home. I've been to the GRAMMYs every single year, I have attended the white house christmas parties, attended the Oscars, and have been to the membership only boujie places at both Soho House and San Vicente Bungalows -- all places with dress codes -- and I have never experienced anything like this. To be honest it's not even the dress code specifically that upsets me it's how they act so aggressive and nasty about it like you're walking into the venue in a garbage bag or barefoot. it's honestly insane. There are far better places in Los Angeles where the food is actually worth the price, you can wear what you want, and the staff treats you with kindness. This place is all name, no hospitality. We won't be back
Iconic.
Delightful. Delicious. Three of us visited the Polo Lounge for a Saturday afternoon lunch. We arrived promptly at 11:00am--our reservation time. We were escorted to the enclosed porch area overlooking the patio--and directed to a booth. PERFECT. We were quickly greeted and cocktails were ordered along with a couple of appetizers--oysters and a crab cake along with two cups of fresh tomato soup. DELICIOUS. Onward to the main course--two of us enjoyed the BHH Seafood Salad and one of us enjoyed the Branzino. DELIGHTFUL. As we made our lunch orders, our host shared that the special dessert would be a Chocolate Soufflé. And of course, our answer was "ABSOLUTELY". We later added three Espresso Martinis when dessert time rolled around and all were enjoyed immensely. Tipped the piano man to play a little Sinatra and it was an afternoon we won't forget. Thank you Team Polo Lounge and Team BHH for making our day VERY SPECIAL. We'll return!

I used to be a fan of polo lounge but last time i visited changed my mind for sure. I felt the quality of their service has dropped quite a lot The plates lack attention to detail, and the flavors were bland and pretty much tasteless. Their desserts taste like they been made days earlier and stored in the fridge. Overall, well below what you would expect in Beverly Hills. Their valet line is always packed and they are so slow with moving. I had my service dog with me and asked for water for her, which they refused, another level rude ... This was my last visit to LA Polo lounge.

What is not to like about this famous restaurant? The only thing is the price - definitely shock value and not all items on the menu are worth the price. However, the outdoor area is just absolutely divine and it is a slice of classic Beverly Hills. This is definitely a special occasion spot and who doesn't love a good dress code? I saw them kick someone out with ripped jeans recently and I secretly loved it because not enough places expect class anymore. The cocktails are beautiful and the service is on another level. I just wish the $46 salad felt like a $46 salad. Food is good. Also brunch is sometimes a set menu so one time we chose elsewhere because of that. (Ladies who brunch don't need a huge meal)

I'm surprised that the iconic Polo Lounge is struggling to find a better Chef. We had the chicken wings 5/5 Lobster Risotto 2/5 lacked seasoning, not the same dish we had 4 years ago. Branzino 2.5/5 needed more flavor. Drinks 4/5 Table Bread and butter 5/5 especially that pretzel bread. Tuna Tartar 4/5

Beautiful hotel and a lovely atmosphere for our “dessert breakfast.” My husband and I each had a latte and we split the blueberry lemon ricotta pancakes. They were delicious and it was a huge portion. Splitting was the right choice! The staff was friendly and helpful. We sat on the patio. There was plenty shade from the trees and umbrellas. A hummingbird came and drank from the flowers next to our table.

My husband and I have stayed previously at the Beverly Hills Hotel and visit a few times a year for dinner/lunch or cocktails while in Los Angeles visiting our son. It's been one of our favorite places, until now. Yesterday, on Easter Sunday, we stopped in for afternoon cocktails and conversation. Sadly, the bar was full and we were told by the maître d' on duty that the small empty bar tables were being reserved for those wishing to partake of the Easter bruch. He suggested we try the downstairs Cabana Cafe, which we did, but were informed there that they had just served their last beverages and food and were closing for the day. You would think the maître d' at the Polo Lounge would have known this and would have not suggested it in the first place where we'd be turned away . . . again. The third strike was the Bar Nineteen12 being closed for renovations. It was extremely disappointing being turned away like that at a place we've frequented many times. It seems like there was just no room for us there yesterday and they didn't care. The only person who cared was the valet who noticed when we came out that we had been there only a few minutes. After he saw my sad face, he graciously asked if there was a problem. I explained all that had transpired and he kindly apologized waived the parking fee.
I Love the Polo Lounge!
I love the Polo Lounge. I will just go ahead an put that out there. I love everything about it...the food, the people-watching, the atmosphere, the service, and most of all, the people who work there! Wow! They work hard but make it look easy, and everyone there is always friendly and helpful. They make it fun to dine there and linger over drinks. When I stay at the hotel for several nights, I always dine in the Polo Lounge at least three times...usually at least once for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And if I'm lucky enough to be there on a Sunday morning, I always have brunch there! The menu has something for everyone. The hosts/hostesses are very accommodating. The management is friendly, engaging, and ever-present...a good thing. The chef (Josh!) is very accommodating. The members of the waitstaff are happy to be there, and they enjoy engaging with guests. Whether you dine outdoors on the patio (beautiful flowers!) or indoors, it's a beautiful experience. I love to think of all the deals that have been made there and all the people who have passed through those doors through the years! I always look forward to dining in the Polo Lounge, and I love sharing it with friends and family. It's iconic, and it's successful for a reason...because they take great care of their guests. Highly recommend.
Good food, not so good service.
Yes the food is good, but . . . the service is really bad. I waited for 10 minutes to get a refill on my water glass and even then had to flag someone down. No one ever came by to re-order drinks. The food took forever to come out. Again, the food was excellent, I had the filet mignon, my daughter had the $50 wagyu burger (which doesn't come with fries which are another $25) and both were very good. The atmosphere is pompous, and we saw a group of women getting turned away because they had jeans and did not meet the dress code- while at a birthday party at the next table two women out of a large party with jeans. Probably never go back, but it was an experience.
Busy, Noisy, Excellent (wow)
Arriving at 830pm on a Saturday night, this old school venue was pumping. An older crowd, couples, family and large groups. The service was steady (just right), Food was just delicious with the highlight being the Branzino. Good wine-list too. The bar was very busy with patrons waiting for tables.

Polo lounge is a Beverly Hills icon and it oozes old school glamour. The whole place is absolutely beautiful. I visited for breakfast on a quiet day and my server was beyond friendly and you could tell he had been there a long time and loved his job
Came to polo lounge for a girls lunch.
Not only were we disappointed in the service, but the food was terrible. We ordered a few dishes, the chicken had no taste to it, the beef tartare which is prepared table side (nice touch) was gross. Salad leaves were all wilted. We had a bottle of champagne, servers passed by a dozen times saw empty glasses and never refilled. Espresso is served in large coffee cups, champagne in large wine glasses. With the prices they charge, you would think they can afford to have proper glasses for each beverage. You go to a nice place for good food and service, and this was not that experience. Would not come back for sure.

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary tonight by dining at the Polo Lounge. We've been there many times before, but for drinks and dessert. Tonight we decided to have the entire meal there. The experience was AMAZING. Our daughter made the reservation and informed them we were celebrating our anniversary. Everyone congratulated us on the event. More importantly, the meal was extraordinary! We split the BHH seafood salad (so good). I had the chicken parm and my wife had the miso sea bass over garlic noodles (a special). Both entrees were off the charts delicious. Of course, the soufflé for dessert was unforgettable. Our waiter Jeremy was beyond perfect. If you want a special place to celebrate, forget the chain steak houses and come here and instead. It's well worth the money.
Anniversary Lunch
I have always wanted to visit the Polo Lounge after hearing so many people including celebrities rave about it and we were not disappointed. It was our 10th Wedding Anniversary so I emailed ahead of time & requested a booth. We got it and as we walked it we were greeted with a Happy Anniversary. We were seated at a booth and the waiter told us that this used to be the favourite table of Elizabeth Taylor. I love old Hollywood so i was all over that. The restaurant has a smart yet relaxed atmosphere we ended up chatting to 3 lovely ladies at the next table. The food was delicious & service impeccable. When the dessert came out they had gone to the trouble of writing Happy Anniversary in chocolate on the serving dish. The day after I got a personal thank you for visiting email from the restaurant. It’s small touches like that that really make the difference. If I’m ever in LA again I will definitely return.

The experience was wonderful! I ordered steak and pasta, and the food was fresh and phenomenal. The ambiance is amazing--historic, vintage, and naturally beautiful. However, I did notice some people staring and giving dirty looks. We were dressed appropriately and behaved politely, but it seems some patrons can be a bit stuck-up. That's why I'm giving it four stars instead of five. Our waiter was very kind!

Classic LA Hollywood ambiance that makes you feel like a celeb while you people watch other celebs. My girl and I came here just for dessert and champagne after my birthday dinner. Was it expensive? Hell yes. It was over $30 for a chocolate soufflé. However, you are paying for the experience and it was actually a lot for 2 people to share. Worth a visit if you are in the area in my opinion

Had a fun brunch here with a friend who was in town for the weekend and it even included a J.Lo and Ben sighting. The food was decent but not amazing for the prices, but that's to be expected at a Beverly Hills hotel. The service was very good as the waiters are real old school professionals and the live music was a nice touch. The interior of the hotel is beautiful. Definitely worth doing to experience at least once especially with out-of-town visitors.

Polo Lounge in the renowned Beverly Hills hotel was our destination for Father's Day with my wife and friends. Our favorite waitress, Michelle, invited us to this tropical haven. We were seated outside in a booth often reserved for celebrities, surrounded by lush greenery and warm smiles. The food was exceptional, particularly the tender steak and delicious scrambled eggs. Wifey enjoyed the chicken and waffle, complimenting the juicy chicken. Our drinks, lemon drops, whiskey sour, and espresso martinis, were also impressive. The chef and his team provided attentive and accommodating service, making our experience truly memorable. Thank Polo Lounge for an awesome time.

Truly atrocious service - trading off its history alone
We visited the Polo Lounge for dinner having made a long standing reservation. Our reservation was for 20.30. The restaurant was full at this time and we were advised to return in ten minutes and we would be seated. Not a great start ~ what is the point in making a reservation if it cannot or will not be honoured? Returning ten minutes later, as advised, the host then told us there was still no table available and we were asked to wait at the bar. Whilst the barman was friendly and professional, the bar area needed a good clean as there were used straws lying about and food on the floor. At around 21.10 (40 minutes after our arrival and reservation time!) we were finally seated at a booth table in the restaurant. Unfortunately we were then ignored… the waiter in our section was clearly unable to manage the 4 or 5 tables he had, as we heard others complaining about incorrect drinks and being unable to attract attention in order to settle the bill. At around 21.30, one full hour after arriving (and by this point very hungry) we decided to cut our losses and leave. I have never before had cause to walk out of a restaurant, especially not one purporting to be a place of quality and tradition (and you will see from my other reviews we are regular diners in “nice” restaurants). AVOID! There are much better places to spend your time and money in LA.
Full of promise but lacking delivery
Visited on a Friday evening with a reservation for dinner at 2030. Arrived promptly at 2020 and was told we'd be seated shortly and to have a drink at the bar or wait in the lounge. After 15 minutes we returned and were told the table should be available soon and to have a drink at the bar which, on this occasion we did. Drinks were good although the bar area was untidy (napkins and chips on the floor etc). Come 2100 we still hadn't been seated but eventually were shown to a table. Fast forward another 20 minutes and staff hadn't acknowledged us. So, having finished our drinks and witnessed a table struggling to pay and another table with an incorrect order, we left. We offered the host cash for the drinks we'd had but this was declined: the only positive customer service we'd received. For a restaurant which is expected to excel at service and quality we were left very disappointed.

Super great food! One of the best kale salads I have ever had. The burrata was a great touch to the salad. The staff was incredibly kind and there was a piano player. 10/10 recommend.
Polo Lounge Beverly Hills Hotel
As Beverly Hills as it gets. One of those places in LA where everyone’s looking around trying to spot celebrities. There’s usually one or two at least. Not sure why since the food is just ok. The service is on point and the wait staff is very experienced. I guess that’s enough reason to pay $150-200 a head for eggs and coffee.

The food was unfortunately so disappointing. Specifically, the oysters were good (but poorly shucked had some shell inside), the tuna tartare was lacking flavor, needed salt and acid. The worst part was the steaks, we ordered a filet mignon and a NY strip, both medium. The filet came overcooked, about medium well to well and not cooked evenly throughout. The NY strip was the worst, it first came out grey and totally overcooked, I hate sending food back but had to. When they brought it back a second time it was literally rare. Insane to charge $80 a steak and obviously not know how to cook it properly. I didn't say anything because our waiter was so nice. The desert was cheesecake and honestly it tasted frozen with some cheap jelly from a kids pb&j sandwich. Drinks (old fashion, pink lady, and Millionaire) were great. The service was also great. Ambiance was nice, too.

We've been here quite a bit but we usually go down to the counter. Lately we've been going to the Polo Lounge and have had the most amazing experiences here. Blake has been our waitress the last couple of times and she's simply amazing and a joy to be around. The food here is top notch. I've yet to have a bad meal. The ambiance is very Hollywood glam. With the green decor and booths that give it a warm intimate feel.

I've always found when a restaurant gets the hospitality right, the food tastes better. A great meal is about much more than food - and it's the people who work front of house who know how to make you feel special. Sadly, the polo lounge has been slipping in this regard the last few times I have been here. The food has never been particularly good, but the ambiance, service, and vibe have always made up for it in my mind. Not quite sure if it's an over-corporitization, ego, or maybe a result of nepotism but I have distinctly felt like I'm getting attitude from those working the host stand upon check-in as of late. It's quite unseemly and totally unnecessary at a place like this. I was so disappointed at my last visit that I felt compelled to complain to management about it. I had arrived a few minutes early with the intention of arranging the flowers and champagne I had brought to enhance the table before my mother's arrival for her special occasion. I was curtly informed that "we only seat entire parties." When I pressed that I had arrived early so I could arrange the flowers and champagne BEFORE my mother's arrival the hostess behaved as if this was an awkward and unusual request. She then indicated that they would "make an exception just this once" and proceeded to assign our table. When it's not even 11am and the restaurant maybe has 5-6 tables seated this comes across as patronizing and condescending. I understand if it's midnight and the place is packed, but, give me a break!!! Due to covid the restaurant had apparently created a side patio in order to accommodate the social distancing (again I understand we are all under a unique situation) my complaint here is that again, on Mother's Day, and when the PL is known for live music is to have guests seating in an area that does not quite have the same vibe. It almost felt like a "bait and switch." To have booked a table months in advance only to be seated on an empty side patio with the faint sound of live music playing in the distance is pretty underwhelming. I tried to take everything in stride but the final straw came when the heat lamp failed to work after requesting it be turned on when my mother became cold. I decided I had to complain. While waiting for the manager to arrive I had an opportunity to observe the hostess turn a young family away who had apparently shown up at the wrong place. All I can say is a little grace goes a long way and feel like a pro would have made the accommodation and found a place to seat them rather than turn them away. I know there were available tables because we had just finished dining in solitude after the hostess claimed "we're going to be packed" upon my initial objection to being seated on the makeshift patio. My most recent visit at Christmastime was equally underwhelming. After arguing with the host informing us that we didn't have a reservation only to be corrected by another employee that the name she was searching wasn't the name I provided at least 3 times. After the "clarification" we were immediately seated at a booth and the 6th seat was literally 10-12" below the table - the edge of the table rested at whomever was seated in that seats chest. It was literally a joke and I figured we were being filmed for our reactions! The guest seated in the "chair of honor" was gracious enough to not cause a scene, but, even after requesting two additional cushions he was still at an awkward position compared to the rest of us. How can any rational person literally expect someone to sit at a table like that unless you're in some Tijuana style slop house? $135 for brunch and you're literally going to seat someone in that spot? It wasn't my reservation so I bit my tongue, but, wtaf??? Go to the Ivy instead - much better experience all around.

This upscale restaurant located in Beverly Hills hotel offers some of the best service I've ever had. The drinks came out immediately and so did the food. All up to par and to my expectations. Started off with some espresso martinis which were delicious. As we sat we got a variety of bread with butter. We ordered some oysters and a salad. Topped that off with the chicken parm and peppered steak which were both delicious. The finale and what people order often is the chocolate soufflé . I have had soufflé at many places and this one has perfected the skill. The ambiance is old school catered to the Hollywood stars. The service was impeccable as the orders of drinks and food came out almost instantly. There was some live music and piano played which set the mood right. This place is as classy as it comes. There is a reason they have been around for quite some time. A must go to place if not for the food for their soufflé. Check out my pics for an idea of presentation and how delicious the food looked. We couldn't finish the food and asked to get it wrapped up. Even the to go boxes are presented with elegance.
Wonderful dining experience
My sons, daughter-in-law, wife and grandson (toddler) at Christmas night at the Polo Lounge, and it was a truly unforgettable evening. The food, wine, ambience, and service were all great. I love good food, and this meal was just wonderful. The price is high, but the quality is higher.
Incredible Experience
A night to remember! When we arrived for our reservation, we had to wait a bit and headed over to the 1912 bar for a few drinks. We had a great conversation with the bartender who gave us excellent tips for drinks, dinner and even things to do in the area. Once seated, in a romantic booth with partial privacy, our service was exceptional. We felt just as attended to as any of the other probably wealthy, famous people there. The Pretty in Pink cocktail was as tasty as it was beautiful. The McCarthy Salad was excellent. We had Chicken Parmesan and the Filet Mignon for dinner. They were both so, so delicious. Even the bread basket had us smitten. We had sorbet and chocolate cake for dessert. The presentation of each was gorgeous. The meal was well timed and again, our service was top notch. In my life I have about 6-7 meals that I recall in great detail with fond memories and this is now on that list. We intend to make this a must do whenever we visit LA. Thank you!
Treated Appallingly
After spending lunch at the Beverly Wilshere we walked up Rodeo Drive to the supposedly iconic Beverly Hills hotel. We were intended to have a few drinks at whichever bar was open or could accommodate us. From the door staff to the reception staff to the polo bar staff to the pool bar staff no one was welcoming whatsoever. No one wanted us there. I began to question had we walked in wearing rippped jeans? No. Quite the opposite we were very smartly dressed - all 4 of us. The door staff ignored us. The reception staff sent us to the Polo bar who turned us away & sent us to the pool bar / restaurant. The pool restaurant staff were the absolute worst. My daughter and I both wearing long very smart dresses were told there was no table for us - despite nearly every table being empty. It was so incredibly humiliating. They clearly just did not want us there and have a licence to turn away whoever they wanted to claiming lies like there is no table ?! I would simply never return to this place for a drink nor to stay. The hotel had some vulgar looking extravagant horrible wedding at the front which is presumably why they ignore & turn away other paying guests. The whole experience left such a bitter taste. Part of the reason for visiting was to see if we may like this place for a future stay. In that sense it was a successful visit as we will definitely choose the Beverly Wilshere going forward. We loved LA and thank goodness there is a choice and you can easily avoid this place and allow them to just house vulgar weddings. By contrast the Beverly Wilshere which had its faults, also had lovely staff who were very accommodating. It must be the difference between the customer service standards at the Four Seasons Group vs the Dorchester Group. Avoid if you can.

2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* FluffyStar64, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* FluffyStar64 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to FluffyStar64 for any questions Peter may have as FluffyStar64 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* FluffyStar64 now uses their connections at Polo Lounge Beverly Hills to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If FluffyStar64 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
