What a disappointing experience we had last Saturday, March 11. We have eaten at Petit Trois many times & were so happy to be able to take out-of-town guests who had researched great restaurants in LA & were eager to go. The food was good, as expected, although my omelet was cold, but as the wait person was essentially MIA thru-out the meal there was zero chance of having that addressed. But to go back to the beginning: first of all, the hostess could only be described as "snarly", both in her interaction with us upon our arrival as well as with other guests waiting to be seated. This was in contrast to the perfectly charming personnel to whom I had spoken as I made, changed, & then checked on the reservation. Our guests were quite taken back by the hostess' nasty attitude toward us & other guests. The wait person was friendly, took our orders & then disappeared. Let me repeat: she disappeared. I would search for a sighting of her & could see her in the restaurant, but she never came back to the table until the very end of the meal. We had to flag down another wait person to ask for milk for coffee at the end of the meal although it had been requested when the coffee was ordered. Here are the other items we had to request during the meal: additional sauce for the hamburger, the French fries which were ordered as an afterthought but were extremely slow to arrive, more water as the table carafe wasn't automatically refilled, our coffees which hadn't arrived about 15 minutes after they were ordered. We literally did not see our wait person between the time we took our order & the time she delivered the check with a cutie drawing on the escargot on the bill which she stated was a view of my head from the back. (Huh???) We did not leave anything more than the 18% tip which we would always normally do. By the way, she also did not point out when she delivered the check that the 18% tip was already on the check. We were aware of this practice having been to Petit Trois many times, but I think it's a gracious thing for restaurants to point out if it's their practice as many people would not read the small print. This was such a disappointing experience. We won't go back as there are many others places to go where the service IS as good as the food.
