Excellent food and service.

5/5 by 👻 @Walter C. on 05/20/2024

Been to the NY locations several times. The steak is the same in Las Vegas. In my opinion this is the best steakhouse in Las Vegas. Go with the porterhouse. Best steak on the menu. My only negative is that all of their cocktails start at $24.95 lol...too much money for a cocktail.

$$$ but great food and service

5/5 by 👻 @pillowsofwanderlust on 05/19/2024

I enjoyed a great but pricey dinner at the new (open less than a year) Vegas location of this Brooklyn institution. Big plus--it accepts credit cards, whereas the NY locations do not (debit card okay). It's located in the Caesars spot once occupied by another NY icon, Rao's. Yet another NY transplant, Old Homestead Steakhouse, was Caesars' main steak place previously, but is now Bobby Flay's Brasserie B. But Caesars does have a second steakhouse, Stanton Social Prime. Luger has some tables just inside the entrance, then a large oval bar with seating and a few tables around it, then a large rear dining room. Reservations are recommended. The menu is pretty traditional. They only serve 2 types of steaks, porterhouse and ribeye. The porterhouses (NY strip + filet) are just called "steaks" and sized for 1-4 people; note the single steak is just the NY strip, no filet. The ribeye is for 2. The complimentary bread service has 3 types--Parker House, onion and a long roll. Here's what I ordered: 1) Iceberg wedge salad with tomatoes, bacon and blue cheese. Luger also serves their famous bacon as a hot appetizer or as a topping to any salad. 2) Chilled Shellfish Tower (sized for 1-2 or 3-4 people). The "smaller" tower had 1/2 lobster, crab cocktail, 6 shrimp and 8 oysters. Everything seemed quite fresh. The cocktail sauce had a BIG kick of horseradish, the spiced mayo for the crab was a bit bland. The mignonette for the oysters was fine. The staff didn't just box my leftovers, he thoughtfully put the container over a bag of ice. 3) Single steak. Luger doesn't weigh their steaks, but they estimated it to be 12+ oz. Steaks are famously served sliced on a sizzling plate; the waiter then rubs the slices on the side of the plate and spoons some of the fat/juices over them. The steak was cooked as ordered but slightly under seasoned. However, a boat of Luger's famous steak sauce is served alongside. It's a cross between a cocktail sauce and a BBQ sauce with definite hints of horseradish (much milder than their cocktail sauce). I gnawed off every bit of meat left on the bone since I was paying $$ for it. 4) Creamed spinach. My go-to steakhouse side, and Luger's was pretty good and a good-sized portion. I usually order creamed corn as well, but Luger doesn't have that. 5) Pecan pie. Delish, served, as are all their desserts, with 2 large dollops of "schlag" aka whipped cream. Service was fabulous, They work as a team, but my main guy was Curtis. Overall a great albeit pricey dinner,

I guess I should preface this review by saying that Lugers

5/5 by 👻 @Richard D. on 05/19/2024

I guess I should preface this review by saying that Lugers in Brooklyn is one of my favorite places in the country. So of course I was thrilled when I found out that they were opening one in Vegas. For those of you that have never been and are checking reviews to see if you should visit, here are some helpful tips for you from someone that has been eating at Lugers for over 25 years. First, I am reading a lot of reviews from people that were confused about what steak to order. I keep seeing that people are ordering ribeyes. This is a huge mistake. Ribeyes are a fatty cut of meat. If you love ribeyes, go ahead and order them at your average steakhouse. Not at Peter Lugers. THE ONLY STEAK THAT YOU SHOULD BE ORDERING IS THE PORTERHOUSE. End of story. There is no better steak in the entire country than the porter house at Peter Lugers. The only way to order it is rare or medium rare. They are served on very hot plates and the steak will continue to cook. Your server will give you a slice of the fillet and a slice of the strip. Both are incredible, but both are different. And yes, while $160 is very expensive for a steak, porterhouse will serve 2 to 3 people. And again, if you were dining with someone that likes their steaks, medium or medium well, make sure to order your steaks, rare or medium rare, and they can leave theirs on the plate an extra minute and it will be cooked perfectly for them. Also, I'm reading several reviews where people are complaining that their servers were gruff. This is part of the shtick. The Brooklyn restaurant has waiters that have been there for over 50 years. If you need someone to coddle you, go somewhere else. You are the kind of person that only cares about ambience at a restaurant, go somewhere else. If you are someone that needs the sides to be exciting and better than the entrée, go somewhere else This is simply the greatest steak in all of North America. End of story. Is the Vegas location as good as the Brooklyn location? I'm afraid that I am going to have to say no. The Brooklyn location gets the top 1% of all prime meat in New York City. I'm not sure where they are getting the meat for Vegas, but I definitely noticed a difference, but having said that, the Vegas steak was still better than any other steak that I have had at dozens of high end steak houses in Vegas, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Miami, etc., etc. Is it too expensive? Yes it is. That's Vegas. The best way to look at it is that you can drop 500bucks on an incredible dinner, or you can lose it on a couple hands of blackjack???

The appetizer, steak and sides are average for Vegas . Grab a speciality cocktail at the bar but there are better places on the strip to grab dinner.

I was really excited when I found out that they were coming

3/5 by 👻 @Matt P. on 05/19/2024

I was really excited when I found out that they were coming to Vegas. I was not a fan of it coming to Caesars though as they charge $15 for parking on a weekday. They should at least validate since we are spending so much money here. They are located right next to Bacchanal and Giada's Sandwich place. We were informed that there was 3 people that would be serving us, which was great because their service was outstanding. There was always someone around to ask for things and our water kept on getting filled like clockwork. Ended up ordering the Porterhouse for 2 $165 for about 20oz. Had it cooked medium rare and honestly, $165 seems excessive for the amount of meat they give you. But I was just going to sit back and wait before I making that judgement. We also ordered the tomatoes and onions. I think it came out to about $20 for about 3 slices of tomatoes and 2 onions. What a rip to be honest. How do you justify charging that much for just tomatoes and onions. They did not taste extraordinary, just plain old tomatoes and onions. I thought the tomatoes were going to be sweet, but it wasn't'. Now the sauce that they give you was great. It's like a vinaigrette dressing that I pretty much used on everything. From the bread to the tomatoes/onions to the steak. It went well with everything. The bread basket they give you was just ok. It wasn't the softest or fresh tasting bread I've had. It was a little hard and not fluffy at all. But luckily, we didn't have to pay extra for that. Now for the main event, the porterhouse. It came out drenched in butter and sliced up in to pieces for us. That was much appreciated. I thought that the steak was just ok. It was great or anything. In fact, It was a little tough and I thought the butter was too much and didn't really enhance the taste of the beef. Charging $165 is just outrageous, but the fact that the steak was up to par, I'm a bit disappointed. My poor wife was kind of stuck in between two other tables that got sat down after us. She was kind of boxed in and the servers should have realized that when they sat her down. Overall, I would not come back here again as there are better places in Vegas that serve better steaks and much cheaper. I think people come here because of the name, but in all honesty, I don't think it's all that. If I were you, go somewhere else and save some money.

. so the expectation is to pay more, especially at the Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino.. but I was not impressed.. the food was average, customer service meh.. and I had to stop at the diner to actually feel like I had dinner (after leaving). I guess if you want to go to a fancy restaurant.. this might fit the bill, but don't expect to be completely satisfied. PS.. I literally took zero pics of my food.... So here's the bill!

The steak was 11/10.

5/5 by 👻 @Kristina A. on 05/18/2024

It's not a party place by any means. The restaurant is boring and basic, but if you're into steak, they really know what they're doing. I came here for my birthday to celebrate, but the environment is not celebratory. It's a German steakhouse and the environment is cold, dark, and harsh, (black interior) not warm, fun, and friendly. Our server didn't even seem excited about the menu, kind of like a what you see is what you get type of attitude, frankly was a little off putting as you come in wanting the experience (I guess my expectations are high ). Anyway, the steak was simply amazing, cannot take that away from them, but I would not recommend this for a celebratory dinner. I wish the server was a little more educational about the menu and or restaurant, that just wasn't there. It's not a five star experience, just five star steak. Either way as previously stated, I would recommend it if you love steak and looking for quality meats!!

Visited for my steak-loving bf's birthday celebration.

4/5 by 👻 @Tina T. on 05/17/2024

He's got quite a thing for steaks, is fascinated by all-things-steak, from grilling to dry-aging them but most of all eating them. Upon entering, I loved the ambiance and the moodiness of the dark decor. Their starter bread was an onion bread, a bit heavy for our liking. We also ordered the oysters, not the plumpest or moistest oysters we've had, so-so. The jumbo shrimp on the other hand, quite the opposite. They do their steaks very well, as expected for an establishment well-known for their steaks. After being cooked to perfection, they were drenched in a buttery concoction, then perfectly sliced and served directly to our plates by our wonderful server. We ordered rib steak for 2 and steak for 2, shared amongst 5 people. The broccolini was cooked well, however left something to be desired. We ordered another side but I cannot remember what it was, not very memorable I suppose. We finished with an apple strudel, pecan pie and cheese cake. Everyone with me raved about the dessert, it was ok the sweeter side for me. What I did love was the fresh homemade whip cream served with all the desserts. Overall, lives up to the reputation! Would visit again, still leaves me wanting something with a bit more, will def be checking out other places before returning.

The food here is the star.

4/5 by 👻 @Ryan H. on 05/16/2024

The steaks are unique and the flavor of the meat itself is exceptional! The service here is top notch and I felt like we had two servers for each of us. We had everything we needed and we're well taken care of. The ambience is nice and quiet. The layout is good and seating felt private even though there were lots of people. Plan to spend at least $100 a person. If you get drinks and more than one or two appetizers, then add more to that. We had an appetizer and steak for two and left bursting! The portions are huge and delicious. I would recommend ordering the steak at least a temperature below what you may normally get, as the plate is so hot the meat will continue to cook on the plate. We ordered medium, but by the time we got to half of the steak, it was medium well and a little more cooked than I would've preferred. I should have ordered medium rare, and the steak to cook. The meal would be medium. The steak itself is really the experience you were here for. The unique flavor and the homemade steak sauce is one of a kind. I would definitely give this place a try if you've not been.

Ridiculously over priced.

2/5 by 👻 @Marty W. on 05/16/2024

The menu doesn't say what the steaks are or how much they way. They just single steak, steak for 2, steak for 3 and ribeye steak for 2. I had to ask what the cuts were and the size. The ribeye for 2 was $200. When asked she said they are all hand cut so they don't weigh them..but it's about 32 ounces. We ordered it and when it came it had about a foot long bone and maybe 12 ounces or less of meat. Absolutely silly. Nothing special about the place. Would never go there again. You can get just as good steak but double or triple the size for that money almost any steakhouse in Los Angeles

Beet Steak ever!!! ( From a dedicated Carnivore!) The dry age process is a game changer!!!

5/5 by 👻 @Russ M on 05/12/2024

The king of all Steakhouses!!! As a proud and very active carnivore, I thought I had eaten at all the great steakhouses across the US and had the best steaks available. With so many great options available, somehow Peter Luger 's in Vegas, climbed to the top of my "never thought it was possible list! " The dry aged beef combined was just AMAZING! Match that with the unparalleled and somehow mind-reading level of service we received from of Iggy and Rafael, the cool and sophisticated ambience of the room, and the company of amazing friends all made for a magical evening!!! It may be a bit on the pricey side but it is SO worth it!! You want to make a big Impression on your boss, your in laws, your buddies or a big prospect? Take the leap and i assure you, it will be an investment in your happiness!!!

My husband and I went for his 60th birthday dinner and we were disappointed from food to servers. They took our order like we were at friendly 's restaurant. The steak was over cooked. The shrimp cocktail sauce was so hot without warning and no water available to drink because they were too busy. The rolls were cold and dry. I have been to any high end steak house and Peter Luger was a disappointment the spinach side was like slop with no flavor and bitter. The bathroom was filthy and it's the manager it needed attention

Ate here recently with a group of business folks. I didn’t find my steak to be very good. Service was great. But it was overpriced for what you got ($81 for my steak - least expensive one on the menu). Steak portions were huge, but my steak was chewy. There was a limited menu as far as choices go.

Worth the wait and $$$$

5/5 by 👻 @Peggy C on 05/04/2024

If you want a once in a lifetime experience (unless you are the 1% and can regularly afford it) save up and make a reservation. Get the full effect by dressing up and making it an event. If you love wine, you're in luck with a great selection, but there's plenty of other drink options. Get the bacon for an appetizer, and don't bother with sides unless you have a large group and everyone takes a little, because you want to devote your stomach space to the steak. Some people rave about the homemade steak sauce, but it didn't do it for me and it certainly wasn't necessary. Order a desert to share with a group so everyone can try a little, the whip cream (which they don't call whip cream because it's something more) is insane to see and tasty too. Be prepared for a slow walk away from the restaurant, my advice is to get a cab to anywhere else, because if you ate your money's worth, you will be wanting to just kick back, loosen your belt, and soak up the carnivorous splendor.

Worst steak for two ever had.

1/5 by 👻 @Yummies B on 04/18/2024

We were excited to try Peter Luger in Las Vegas only to be beyond disappointed!!!! We ordered the steak for 2 which came overcooked, no taste whatsoever. We had to ask for salt and pepper but it really didn’t help. Server kept saying how it’s dry aged and lightly seasoned to let the meat shine. I’m convinced we got a bad steak. We hardly ate any of it because overall it was not edible. The potatoes and salad were great bread basket was nothing special. We have had several steaks for two in Las Vegas that have been excellent in taste and the meat just melts in your mouth. This was not that! Servers were very apologetic but they did nothing to correct the problem instead they thought giving us a free dessert and some chocolate coins were enough. Very disappointing place.

Not hitting the signature service points of Brooklyn

3/5 by 👻 @Loungesong on 04/15/2024

I've eaten at the Brooklyn location many times over the past 30 years. My reservation was made 30 days ago but we still had to wait over 45 minutes for an 8:00 reservation. Cocktails are straightforward but a whopping $25 each for low end booze. Wine list was fairly priced for Vegas. Problem was with the food. Just not spectacular. Steak for 2 was delicious but plate was not sizzling as it is in Brooklyn. $110 lobster tail was tiny, cold, and not split even though we asked them to. Was extremely awkward asking the runner to split it in half during a business dinner. It was like we asked him to deliver a baby. I had asked for grated horseradish when we ordered but took 15 minutes to get it to the table after asking multiple people starting with the runner. $25 baked potato was not steaming hot. Mushrooms were uninspired and oversalted. Cheesecake was divine, however. If this place just wants to cater to expense reports where the standard is pretty low, they will do fine. But for people celebrating something special I would have been extremely disappointed. Almost $800 after tip for 2 beers, 2 cocktails 1 $120 bottle of wine, shared wedge, steak for 2, shared lobster tail, mushrooms, 1 potato, shared cheesecake.

Great food…exceptionally rude service!

2/5 by 👻 @vb333 on 04/11/2024

Breaking a 4 year Trip Advisor hiatus, as we dined here today and had the rudest service we’ve ever experienced. Booked a 12.30pm reservation and ordered the burgers (thinking that would be acceptable as they are a “lunch special”). The minute we ordered the burgers and not a steak, our server (called Obinna I believe) switched from friendly and polite to exceptionally rude (ignoring us when speaking to him and aggressively slamming down drinks and other items). Once the food arrived, he didn’t come back to check on us, didn’t ask or offer any additional drinks or desserts (just slammed the check down) and didn’t give us any of the famous gold chocolate coins (when all other tables received them). The burger was amazing, juicy and delicious, but the experience was ruined by his childish and obnoxious behavior (as a side note, all other staff seemed very friendly). We spent close to $100 including a generous tip and were in there for a grand total of 30 mins! Whilst I appreciate we weren’t spending crazy money on steak, it wasn’t exactly a cheap lunch and we didn’t hang around taking up the table (not that anyone was waiting or queuing at that time anyway). Would not recommend or visit again as there are much better restaurants in Vegas (with staff who are actually genuinely friendly and helpful!!)
