Perbacco San Francisco Reviews from The Last Year
Best Italian food I had in the US!!!!
This Restaurant is perfect in all aspects: food quality and taste, service, wine, love for details and attitude of employees. I can highly recommend it. On a side note: most restaurants treat single guest as second choice- it was the opposite here. Thank you for a fantastic experience

I recently came to Perbacco for a investor dinner that was a pre-fee with appetizers and drinks before hand. This restaurant is definitely beautiful, and I love that they have two floors and many spaces for private parties! The staff was so friendly, and the service was great. The only feedback I had was that for this event, we got a schedule saying that drinks would go from 5:45 PM until 6 PM, we would all be seated for dinner at 6:20, and eat once we are seated. However, the staff did not seat us until around 715, and we did not eat our first course until about 20 minutes after that. They took so long to serve each course that many people were actually leaving in the middle of dinner because it was long past the scheduled time. By around 8:30 PM we had just finished our entrées and had not yet been served dessert, so I'm not sure if this was an issue with the kitchen or the scheduling or how many private parties were happening That night, but the timing was definitely off and it affected the meal

Food was amazing also the vibes in this restaurant are spectacular it's very lively. I had ended up having a cocktail over wine of course the gimlet there was bomb I ended up having two. Service was overly great I must say like a little too great not saying that I don't like to be checked up on but any given moment things were cleared and we were asked how is everything ...glasses were always full. The potatoes were alright and the brussel sprouts the same. I wasn't really digging the beef short rib but the agnolotti dal plin ugh was so good I will come back just for this.
First Time Trying a Michelin Restaurant
This was our first and only (so far) experience at a Michelin restaurant. Perbacco is in the Financial District of San Francisco. A cute little space, but I would recommend asking to sit up near the entrance, where you are surrounded by brick walls. We sat in the back and the view was just of other tables. We each had a drink to start. My friend ordered the French 75 and said it was room temp so she didn't finish it. I had a great glass of Rose and the waiter let me try the 2 Roses that had by the glass, which was nice. I didn't even have to ask! We had the burrata and the Frito Misto. Both were quite good. I wasn't thrilled to see the frito show up as an almost tempura dish - everything was deep fried. But the batter was very light so it was actually not bad. I just wouldn't order it again. We decided to split 2 pasta dishes. The pappardelle and another that had mushrooms (can't recall the name now). It was a great combo and the pasta was truly delicious. I liked them both equally! I will say that there were 2 size pasta dishes and we got the bigger size ($29 each) and there wasn't a lot. Still, it was filling with the appetizers to start. We also had the Sommelier recommend a bottle of Pinot that went well with our dishes. Occidental, from Sonoma. It was pretty good but for $99, I would almost recommend going with 2 glasses each of their wine glass pours. Those ran around $20 or less and they had some really amazing options. All in all, it was a good restaurant experience. Nice ambience, good service (even though our waiter wasn't the friendliest guy), great food. But I will say I've had better meals at non-Michelin Star restaurants, so that was a bit surprising and makes me question the whole "Michelin Star" thing.

Delicious food! when a restaurant can get me to eat endive, that's WOW. duck: yum! with kumquat and endive (caramelized with balsalmic?) pastas: all yum bread with honey riccota old fashioned fancy service. only complaint: loud. people all around us with loud distracting conversations.
This place is not good.
The beet salad was okay but the pappardelle (with gluten free pasta) was awful. Very disappointing especially at this price point. Service was nothing special and same goes for the ambiance. Will not be returning.

I had a business lunch here recently & had a wonderful experience. We didn't have reservations but were seated in the main dining room quickly. We started with the burrata which comes with stone fruit & was a light starter. We were also provided with complementary focaccia bread. Yum! I chose the Tajarin which features hand cut, thin tagliatelle, five hour pork and porcini mushroom Sugo. It was delicious & I ate every morsel. My co-worker had the Langaroli pasta & I sampled a little bite & it was yummy. I wanted to end the meal with a palate cleanser & close the citrus sorbetto, which was light & refreshing. Service was warm & helpful. I like the formal dining room with proper linens.
We had a reservation here for Valentine's Day.
When we arrived, we were 15 minutes early and seated right away. The ambiance is nice with a classy bar setting and nice booths or tables. The dining upstairs might be inaccessible for wheelchair users or those with movement impairments. I did not see an elevator. The service was swift and friendly, I always felt like we were taken care of. The server acknowledged that our entree was taking too long and checked on it without us asking. The food was delicious! We had a lovely potato and leek soup, pasta, and sorbet for dessert. Everything was fantastic! A bit pricey for the pasta but still within a reasonable range for an upscale dining experience. The only "miss" was the complimentary truffles given to us at the end. We couldn't eat them, they were too rich. We would love to be back!

Came here on Valentine's Day with a reservation and got seated right away. Really liked the ambiance on both floors of the restaurant. We ordered the acme bread, the tajarin, gnocchi, and poached pear with vanilla ice cream desert. The bread and butter were good but not notable. The exterior was a bit hard even though the inside was soft and I would've liked a little more honey in the butter. I liked the tajarin -- the noodles were cooked perfectly and the sauce was very meaty and savory without being too heavy. It tasted more like an East Asian noodle dish than a pasta though. The tomato sauce gnocchi was simple but really well done! Finally, the poached pear desert was my highlight of the meal. The different textures and flavors from the pear, cake, ice cream, red wine, and biscuit worked really well together. It was a little pricey (~40/person) but expected for 3 courses at a fancier restaurant. Overall, solid place for a fancy dinner and service was good too!
Overall I enjoyed my experience! Went for a Galentines
Overall I enjoyed my experience! Went for a Galentines Dinner and their servers were all very nice. We did have to wait a bit before someone came to take our order, but it was a busier day than usual. The pasta was great but I will say the portion size was small for the cost. The dessert was definitely the highlight, would recommend this one.
Food was very middling for the prices.
I did leave full, though. And we got free chocolate truffle because it was Valentine's Day. We only had the seafood so maybe the meat is better?
Food is really good.
We got the papardelle and the tajarin and I have no complaints. Service was very attentive as well. However it was pricy and because it was Valentine's Day they put us at the upper level and the ambience is not good. The ceiling lights are bright "neon" white and the wall sconces are warm light and weird carpet. I feel like if you get seated in the lower level it could be nice enough (a little hotel lobby style) but upstairs is not nice.
SF Perfection
This restaurant serves consistently exceptional food and provides consistently exceptional service. I have had every pasta dish they make and they are all great. They have an excellent wine list as well.
A bit disappointed with the service for the money paid!
I have to say that, for walking out having spent $200 for two people (only one of whom had a glass of wine), is approaching "fine dining" in The City. We are locals. But for that, I'm not sure that we would return. Here's why: Pros: My meal (the gnocchi) was pretty good! I can't complain about the taste! And the visual setting was nice. Cons: By far, the biggest con is the noise level! It was difficult to hear and be heard over all of the raucous! In fact, we were relieved to finally be done with our meal, paid, and to leave! Others may think that's "lively". I expect it at Olive Garden...not an establishment that is thought of as "fine dining". For this money and venue, I hope that I won't have to ask for my soda (Sprite) twice...but I did. Not a huge deal! But then no one acknowledged us when we were finished. After about 20 minutes of sitting with our forks and knives in parallel on the plate, we finally raised our hand to get our waiter's attention. I don't think this was "the European way" of waiting to be asked for the bill, either, as we watched other tables come and go. Was that the crime of the century, and worth a nasty review? Not entirely (but a little). Was the total price for pasta and salad, coupled with the minor faux pas worth it all? No! It's the combination of the two that causes me to rate as I have. I have a feeling that others have had more positive experiences. And I hate to publicize negativity. But on the other hand, this is an honest, and I think balanced review of our experience. I'm afraid I don't think we'll return.
Superior Food and Service
Refined, fresh, delicious food and the best service. We reserved for 6 and ended up with a party of 9. The restaurant did everything they could to seat us together. What was most extraordinary was that they stayed 2 hours after their closing hour for our dinner, with no complaints, no stares, no rushing comments, no reminders of hours, just all smiles and the most professional, friendly service. This is one amazing place to be if you are in San Francisco. We are grateful for their superior cuisine and first class accommodation.
First Timer
This was my first time eating here. I had a reservation so I was quickly seated. The place was busy with a lunch time crowd. My waiter was not quite attentive, but I guess he was busy. I had the Pappardelle for lunch. I loved it. The pasta had the perfect firmness.
Great Business Dinner
The staff was great. We held our dinner meeting in their semi private room and it worked out well for a party of 12. The sales manager was great to work with and very responsive.

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
