A small group of friends walked there after having a drink
A small group of friends walked there after having a drink at the nearby piano bar. No troubles with seating or service. Everything was quite good. The cauliflower appetizer is delicious. I think it was a favorite for all of us. The Cavatelli dish was amazing, the meat in the dish was so tender! We split a couple desserts. Love a place with a wood fired oven, you know the pizza will be top notch.

The pizza was good, but it as not tasty this time; hence, I rated it three stars. The people are really nice and friendly. I will go there again to see if it was just an off night.

Advertising New Haven pizza, but those who truly know about New Haven know it's coal fire not wood fire oven like this place. However, good try better than other places around this area

We were seated right away even though there were other people waiting. We ordered crispy cauliflower, Linguine with shrimp, and white sauce clam Pizza.Cauliflower was hot and crispy. I enjoy the vinegar, pine nuts, raisins on it. The shrimp in the linguine was cooked nicely not over cooked. The white beans in the linguine was nice and hearty. The clam pizza was delicious with a thin smoky crust. As far as service, I have to give credit to Sam our waiter. He was very attentive and quick. He was able to provide us tea which was not on the menu. He was constantly checking if we needed anything. I haven't had this type of excellent service in a long time. In fact the service he provided was similar, if not better, than a five starRestaurant. I hope the owner recognizes him for his awesome work habits. This was my second time here and I definitely will return.

OMG!!! Andy, Andrew, and Chef are back!!! We have waited so long for their reopening of inside dining. Food was awesome as pre covid. And Elizabeth our server was great! Shrimp and Grits was as mouth watering as before! Pizza awesome! Nothing more to say. Don't take my word for it, come on down!
Be the first to ReplyThis is some of the best thin crust pizza in the bay area.
It might even be the only New Haven Style thin crust pizza in the bay area. I drive from San Jose at least once a week to pick up a pie. That's how good it is. For the person who complained that he drove from SF and wasn't able to "eat in" all I can say is you probably should have looked at their website before you left SF because they clearly state "TAKE OUT ONLY" so if you want to be mad at someone then look in the mirror

Best pizza I've found in the wake of Applewood Pizza closing down in Menlo Park a few years ago. Good crust with good char. Management are friendly and I can tell they know they're sending me home with a wonderful meal.

Really good pizza, loved the margarita and smoked eggplant and peppers one. Crust itself was a little salty though. Best focaccia we've had!!

One bite everyone knows the rules! In search for a New Heaven style pie, I stumbled onto pazzo. Highly rated pizza parlor. I love New York style pies so I wanted to give them a try.I score Pazzo at 7.1. They have strong authentic New England pie influence. Best way I can describe is their pies are between Neapolitan and New York style. Medium size pies that start off puffy on outside and goes thin towards the center. Overall pie is good. They have wood fire stove which brings out slightly burnt pie. Many people enjoy that, but personally not a fan of the hype. The burnt gives a distracting bitter taste when you get closer to edges. Maybe, if they gave customer option for how burnt they like it, then it can be better by personal preference. The cheese is good and right. However, I think there's too much tomato sauce for a thin pie. It would be better if it wasn't floppy and overwhelming from that much sauce. Nonetheless, pie is well done and good. I'd recommend giving it a try for people who like New England style pies. I was hoping it be more like famous pizza parlors in New Heaven like Sally's or Pepe's. (Super thin big pies).Btw, their dinning area is closed. Only to go.
Be the first to ReplyPazzo has been one of our go-to takeout places for pizza
Pazzo has been one of our go-to takeout places for pizza and pasta throughout the pandemic. We came in person once a few years ago and immediately wanted to come back with our kids. I am excited for when it's safe to reopen for in-person dining because I'm sure the pizza would taste that much better if I could eat it straight out of their oven instead of driving it home and getting everyone ready to eat.I tend to overorder here - it's hard not to pick out a couple pizzas and pastas, add a (kale) salad and an appetizer or two, and then tack on a cannoli (or two) or piece of tiramisu for dessert. All of the pizzas we've had are great - the kids love the Magherita. I particular enjoy the sweet and salty combination of sweet prawns and salty guanciale (the "White Gulf Prawns" pizza). The crust is perfectly light and chewy, slightly charred from the wood-fired oven. We also really enjoy the pastas, which have great texture and sauces. I always appreciate a nicely prepared spaghetti (and tomato) dish!We order online and the food-is-ready predictions are usually accurate.
Be the first to ReplyGreat spot.
Ordered one pepperoni and one sausage pizza from their take out list when walking up. Ready in 20 minutes. Big, hot, tasty, pizza charred on the edges. No complaints. Will be back

This pizza is soooo good!! It has been on my radar for a while, and I recently finally tried it on my way home from dropping off my roommate at SFO - it's not too far from 101 so was perfectly situated in the middle of my drive home.I ordered the eggplant & peppers pizza. Anything with eggplant will get me. A polarizing vegetable but definitely top 5 in my opinion. Pazzo is currently takeout only, so don't plan on dining in (although check to see if this has changed!). My pizza was delicious. The crust was super thin, sauce really flavorful, and just the right amount of cheese and toppings. You don't need to overdo it, especially with such a thin crust. The cheese on the eggplant & pepper pizza is actually smoked mozzarella, which I wasn't initially sold on, but it really added a great flavor to the whole pie. I think the eggplants could have been cooked just a tad more, but that wasn't a dealbreaker. After my 18-minute drive home the temp was just a tad lower than I would have liked, so now I know for next time... just scarf this down in my car. And I won't be ashamed. There are a few more pizzas on the menu I'm interested in trying, so I'll be back!
Be the first to ReplyI just had one of their pies tonight.
The Cherry tomato pie. I'm being generous with 3 stars, but am factoring in the Covid struggle with restaurants.I recently read an article somewhere on the best Pizza joints in the Bay Area. Pazzo was listed alongside Tony's in SF, so I was excited to try it thinking I was going to discover great Pizza in my hood!So I picked up the pizza and took it home. Initially I thought it was too light - feather light, is there anything in the box light?! ....lol! When I opened it I discovered it was cold for starters ( no worries, I'll heat it up ) but it was deficient in toppings, flavor, and was essentially a thin layer of dough. To say I was disappointed, would be an understatement.I wanted to like the place, but unfortunately it was lacking.

Be the first to ReplyI can't say enough good things about Pazzo.
I recently moved to San Carlos from SF and Pazzo is one of the few places down here that easily rivals the best food spots in the city. The pizza is unreal. The pasta is fresh. And the tiramisu and cannoli are perfection. I highly recommend the cavatelli, fennel sausage pizza, and the focaccia. Easily a weekly date night spot. Also they infuse smoke into some of the pizzas and pastas which is incredibly unique and flavorful.
Be the first to ReplyStill take out only.
Good reputation is well deserved. Recently had a New Haven (authentic) and a memorable Margherita.
Be the first to ReplyOrdered on a whim.
The pizza crust was thin as my hubby likes it.. AND he's a pizza snob from the east coast.. nuff said.. My favorite was the focaccia starter and the ricotta gnocchi.. yummy!! Quick service -- easy to use online ordering and a good menu - not so much that I couldn't decide but enough variety too.. Will share with our snobby pizza friends :)
Be the first to ReplyDamn good pizza.
You see hype all over the internet proclaiming New Haven as the pizza capital, and pazzo is one of the few joints in the Bay Area that serves new haven style pies. The San marazano is a must try -- you can eat an entire pie and you won't even feel bad about yourself. Theres no grease, the crust is light and airy, and the sauce has a nice tang (similar to what you'd get on a Neapolitan pizza). If you enjoy Neapolitan pizza, you'll love this lighter/more airy variation.
