Pasta not great
Antipasto: soy and lemongrass octopus was nice with the right amount of char. Pasta was a letdown since this is a pasta specialty restaurant. We tried the Tagliatelle 24hr slow cooked beef cheek and saffron crab pappardelle. Both were rather bland in the sauces. The beef meat was tough and latter had traces of crabmeat so tiny that we did not know how it tasted. Texture: former pasta harder than ideal and latter too soft. One would expect the kitchen to understand the various types of pasta and cook them for different durations. The only delicious items were the desserts. The lemon cello tiramisu and millefeuille with chocolate and raspberry compote were both refreshing. Service was attentive and cheerful.

Booked for lunch on 2nd June 2pm and decided to visit since saw it on social media..true in senseโฆcan not really believe too much in social media.. Itโs pretty much a โstudentโ joint type Of pasta place in our perspective,We are both frequent traveler and consumer of pastas from Japan,Europe to Milan,Firenze and Roma. We ordered :- -Prosecco & an Ale -Grilled Octopus -Prawn spaghetti and -Uni pasta A total of $207 We were shown 02 seats at the counter@2.05pm (TQ appreciate it) Svc: -staff was generally polite and pleasant and sat us promptly. -after taking our orders and serving us the sparkling h20 and alcohol.it somehow just went โoffโ. -we were given a condiment dish of Olive oil and balsamic vinegar. -then our Octopus came.By the time we finished out octopus,The olive oil was still Sitting there sadly staring at us. -after noticing everyone after us on our left and across us was chomping down & finishing their bread.I then enquired with a lady server,is the sourdough a side order that needs to be ordered? She replied my question with another question,โoh there is none?โ Itโs always very strange to reply a question with another question especially when the counter is small and pretty much self-explanatorily Empty. -Well itโs a small matter actually, but thereafter itโs just a long long wait. -After the 2 guys on our right was long done with their mains(they came in after us when we were having Octopus) and 02 young girl diagonally opposite us(who came in after us too) was almost done with their meals. -our 02 pasta FINALLY came at exactly 3pm.seems that they were going off for siesta at 3pm. -thereafter they came with the dessert menu few minutes after. -we decided to try a Cannelloni. Food -the Uni wasnโt fresh and the pasta was Over-salted. -my prawn spaghetti the sauce was ok?but the spaghetti style was thick like UDON.itโs great to offer regional Italian style of pasta but the pasta was DOUGHY.Iโm a big fan of al dente but this isnโt.Prawn was chewy and tasted like itโs been treated with Soda bicarbonate. -Both our pastas was half Untouched, but nobody even wondered why. -Cannelloni-was acceptable with an expresso machiatto. Verdict -itโs unacceptable to practise queue jumping in Sgp.and for the price of the pastas that they r charging itโs strange to skip customers.Waiting 55mins for 2 pasta during the โLowโperiod of 2-3pm is totally unacceptable. This is not Swensens. -for a place that charges $40-50 per pasta, nobody even bothered when the plate is half eaten is indeed strange.Granted this isnโt a Michelin bib gourmand/recommend or even star,itโs a pretty decent price to pay.Even Swensens staff would check. -There is poor communication and coordination between servers and chefs who are just standing right in front of the counter. When there are only 06 pax at counter and the 1st pair that ARRIVED sat there has been staring at the empty plate of octupus for 45-55mins,someone should at least enquire or check.Again this isnโt Swensens. We would peg our expectations if this was Swensens but then again,Swensens do have better svc and recovery. -we were planning to organise a food event and consider this joint but having โexperiencedโ this level of svc and food ,well there are plenty of other Italian options to consider(Garibaldi,La fiandra etc) This review most probably wonโt change much, but it serves to remind others that social media reviews arenโt something to buy too much into. All the best to those that still do dare to try.

Great pasta, confused service. We dined in a group of 5. Itโs a restaurant that everyone talked about so we decided to hook ahead and looked forward to going. On a positive note pastas were great, 3 friends reported under-salted sauces in their ravioli. Portions were generous. Appetisers , I would skip! Now onto the service. Many waiters, most are useless. Manager is a nice indian man but could do with more training himself. The service was hectic and not on par with the restaurantโs level. Another pointer their pino Grigio wine at $18 per glass was pretty awful.
Be the first to ReplyThe worst take out
Had great dine-in twice. Tried the take out and it turned out to be an embarrassment in front of my guests... pathetic serving portions. $125 before taxes for a very dry truffle lasagne with bad packing. Most cheese got stuck on aluminium foil which was weighed down by other items in my order.

I recently visited Pasta Bar, located in a trendy area with many interesting restaurants and bars. While the restaurant was busy and had a lot of hype, I have to say that the experience was rather disappointing. I booked outdoor seating due to the restaurant being fully booked, but what I received was just a small table on the street outside the restaurant, and at 9:30pm the staff started to clean the restaurant and kept pouring water into the drain outside, which was less than two meters away from our table. We felt that the staff was very rude and inconsiderate, and it detracted from our dining experience. When we went to the bathroom, the lighting was so dim that I had to use my iPhone flashlight to avoid slipping. The food itself was mediocre at best, with the pasta dishes under-seasoned, and the desserts forgettable. Overall, while Pasta Bar may be popular for Instagram photos, I would not recommend it for anyone looking for a satisfying meal or enjoyable dining experience. With so many great restaurants in the area, I suggest looking elsewhere for your next meal out.
Be the first to ReplyGreat, except for one staff member
Our lunch experience there was almost perfect. The food (especially the lobster ravioli) was fantastic and staff members were attentive, polite, friendly and welcoming. Except for one. Without going into specifics, service staff members should understand that customers do not always know everything about a restaurant, especially if it's our first visit. We do not always recall your operating hours, we do not know what your SOPs are, we may be a bit hard of hearing (because of the loud music in the background) and because of this, we make mistakes. In situations like this, it's fair that staff members inform us of our errors (or lack of knowledge), and gently guide us in the right direction. Unfortunately, gentleness is not a trait associated with this staff member and customer mistakes cannot be tolerated. So I was at the receiving end of a sarcastic remark, and subsequently, almost a militant-like usher to my seat (alas, another misunderstanding because of the music in the background). So please, be kind. You may think your words are harmless, but there are ways to phrase it better.
Be the first to ReplyPretty good Italian but is it really that good?!
The pasta dishes we had were beef ragout and carbonara. Both were good, delicious but as we heard so much about this place, we had high expectationsโฆ. Ambience was good, fun and casual. Service was average.
Be the first to ReplyOpen concept kitchen
Very nice cosy pasta restaurant in town. Love the bar seating area that overlooks the pasta kitchen. Every step of the cooking can be observed and I enjoyed the slight hustle by the chefs on display. Extensive list of pasta, most are not your run on the mill pasta.. but specialty that probably layman like me canโt even understand. Nonetheless, the pasta we chose were not bad. Starter was fantastic too. Price is definitely not your usual budget, but still worth every penny.

My friend and I had a wonderful lunch at Pasta Bar! This was my third visit here, and an excellent reminder why I keep coming back and why this is my go to spot for pasta in Singapore. The service was friendly and attentive, as always, and the gentleman who I believe was a manager (I've forgotten his name!) was particularly welcoming and kind, and when he and the chef surprised us with an extra pasta dish to try we were thrilled, and very grateful. Such a thoughtful gesture! And the food was exceptional, as all of the meals I've had here have been. We thoroughly enjoyed the two stuzzichini we ordered, the lobster cannolo and the prawn toast, which were packed full of flavour, and hada great balance of textures and temperatures. The prawn toast in particular was delicious, with the buttery brioche, creamy nduja and stracciatella, and perfectly cooked prawn. The highlight of course though was the pasta. I've tried many pastas here and the lumache with smoked duck ragu bianco is definitely my new favourite. It was an absolute flavour bomb, and the salty, tender duck with the creamy sauce and crisp, buttery breadcrumbs and perfectly al dente pasta was a divine combination of textures and tastes. It was rich and comforting, and also unique and interesting, the perfect dish of pasta. My friend loved her tagliatelle with beef ragout, and the tagliolini with ricotta and san marzano tomatoes that we were able to try courtesy of the chef and manager was incredible. Such a simple dish but full of so much flavour, and the creamy ricotta complimented the sauce and pasta perfectly. Very light and yet very satisfying. Dessert was equally fantastic, we both had the chocolate salted caramel tart and it was a generous size and tasted amazing. Our glasses of prosecco were also excellent! Overall this was another wonderful meal at Pasta Bar, and I can't wait for the next menu updates and my next visit.

We were parking in front of their restaurant, where the kids had gotten out of the car first. As our kids stood there, a staff shouted at my kids: โwhy are you staring at me? I owe your parents money?โ I immediately came out to ask what happened, she snapped at me saying my kids had no manners. It was just curious kids, what harm could they do? The five foot way is a public area, and in no way should my kids be verbally abused like this. You guys had packed the five foot way with no way for pedestrians to walk, and I am informing the authorities about this. I will also be writing to the hotel and the Unlisted Collection for an official apology.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic pasta, avoid the octopus and get dessert.
The atmosphere in this small eatery is great. Super cozy and sitting at the bar watching the chefs is fantastic.
We got the lobster ravioli and the duck rignette and an octopus to share.
The pastas were fantastic although I found the duck pasta a bit too salty and wished there was more Brussels sprouts throughout.
The octopus unfortunately was a let down. It wasn't grilled nicely and the crumbs and potato served with it didn't work with the octopus. The crumbs didnt do anything we felt and the sauce although nicely roasted was bland. This was a letdown.
Dessert of the canoli was great, fresh, light, airy and the cheese in the cream was so good.
Overall very good we will like to come back.
Lip-smacking Homemade Pasta
I require gluten-free pasta and it is so hard to find this until Pasta Bar. Great counter seats to watch chefs create heartfelt Italian masterpieces. Will definitely come back for another pasta dish and pair it with a red vino, per favore. Gracie mille for the great dining experience.

My girl and I are regulars here, and this is my favorite restaurant in Singapore.
Amazing table service, supremely friendly, extremely professional & attentive staff, and hands down the BEST pasta in Singapore.
I've been making pasta since I was 12, and almost gave up cooking after tasting it here - the freshness, harmony & thought in each dish take them to the next level.
In my opinion, the place deserves a Michelin star, or three. Very generous staff as well, the food seems better each time we visit, and there's definitely some perks to being a regular!
Extremely rude and arrogant behaviour by the manager of the place Pasta Bar
Had made a reservation for a family of 4 for 6:30pm dinner, through the email address. The manager sends a confirmation stating table for 2, I immediately sent a reply highlighting the error and keep calling the place from 11:30am. Must have tried calling 8 times ranging from 11:30 am to 5pm. Our booking was 6:30pm, my only fault was I did not keep up on time to arrive( blaming the terrible traffic island wide, thanks to change in dining restrictions to be enforced from Monday)was at the door at 7pm, was welcomed by the waitress who was courteous, I highlighted the error in booking by the restaurant, apologied for the delay, just when she was letting us in, our comes this Manager, pulls up an attitude, stating the reservation was for 2 and that we were late. I mentioned his flaw on making the booking and said that we were sorry to be late
And that i had called them multiple times to say we were on the way only to be disappointed. He was so rude to say that they have been so busy all day serving and canโt take calls while on service. What attitude is this, we are in a age of technology and one canโt get back to a missed call. The manager was definitely trying to prove this attorney and superiority and I was definitely not going to take it, walked out wishing him good luck. His point was there was another booking at 8:15, in which case all he had to ask me was if I was ok with the time crunch, but there was no humility or any intention to give the customer good respect. He better polish his speaking skills,
I am not sure how the food would have been but hospitality and attitude of the manager sucks.
A go to for your pasta fix
An excellent choice for fresh pasta and popular in town. We came for dinner with 6 pax, atmosphere was great, quite buzzing even during COVID. Service was attentive. Shared starters of portobello mushroom, burata and octopus. Octopus was the star. Then shared 4 dishes of pasta, all were superb except the carbonara which was very soso. The Ragu was the star. Then the veal Milanese, very tasty but a bit too thick than the traditional one. Beef rib was good. Wine and desert great. Overall great, a few tweaks and it would be more authentic. Definitely try it...
Be the first to ReplyCan do better
Went for dinner on a week night. Started with a ricotta and Parma ham salad which was under seasoned. Had the Ragu pasta main which was delicious. The leek gratin side was too cheesy and also under seasoned. Service was a bit intense. Otherwise a nice venue. Then are better pasta restaurants in the area.
Be the first to ReplyDecadently delicious pasta
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Pasta Bar on New Year's Eve. The food was excellent; we shared three pastas (carbonara, duck agnolotti and sausage ragout) and all three were exceptional. The portions were generous, the pasta was cooked perfectly a dente and the flavours of each dish were divine. The carbonara was rich, salty and cheesy with crispy bits of pancetta, the sausage ragout was just the right balance of tartness and sweetness from the tomato sauce and complimented perfectly by the creamy stracciatella, and not too spicy, and the duck agnolotti were an absolute flavour bomb, filled with tender duck confit, and covered in a salty duck jus and a very generous amount of shaved truffle. The desserts were also great, the strawberry millefoigle was particularly delicious, with its luscious strawberry mascarpone, and the flavours of the zeppole were wonderful, though the donuts themselves were a bit chewy.
The servers were friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes, checked in with us on our enjoyment of our meal, and were quick to clear plates and refill our water. The only letdown with regards to the service was the somewhat long wait for our first dish, due to a large number of takeaway orders being filled first. We also enjoyed the counter seats, which gave us a good view of the pasta dishes being prepared. We were lucky to get a seat on the corner opposite the grill, which looked like it might be a bit smoky and hot, but our side was great. Overall a fantastic night, and we will be returning again soon!
Interesting Reservation System
Perhaps this is expected for F&B outlets to survive during a pandemic, but reservations online has to be held with a $50 booking fee. I assume it is forfeited in the event of a last minute cancellation or change. In any event, it motivated us to be punctual. Inside the Keong Saik shop, the open kitchen concept is set in a rustic look. Simple but I can see why the younger generation can find it trendy. We decided to try 3 pastas for sharing as afterall, it is a Pasta Bar. The linguine with clams is average for the price, but we enjoyed the home made ragout and trugffle al dente pastas. As the lunch was rather late, we decided to just have a quick bite of the pastas. Perhaps a next outing, we can take our time to tryout the rest of the menu.
Be the first to ReplySitting with garbage or next to a fire
I made a reservation several weeks ago but when my wife and I arrived we were shown to seats at the bar directly in front of a cauldron of steaming water and an open fire. The heat and stream were overpowering. We asked to be reseated and were given a table outside in front of garbage with an overpowering smell. We complained to the Maitre d who would only say "You made your point", refused to apologize and then disappeared, never to show up again. Nothing was offered to compensate us and so we ate 2 pastas and quickly left, never to return. Tot6al bill (with 2 drinks)--$200. Please go to this restaurant if you like sitting with garbage and paying over the top prices for average pasta.

Great food, great wine list but a bit pricey.
We asked for half portion of pasta for our 3 year old and that was not straight forward, which is just a bit annoying... However, we got the half portion in the end, our toddler loved it.
