Fabulous food
Low key and unassuming from the outside but with fabulous Sri Lankan inspired food. Only a small restaurant so make sure you book

Had been looking forward to visiting here after hyped reviews. Tiny portions, overpriced, wouldnโt recommend- lots of much better options in Soho.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely delicious modern twist on authentic Sri Lankan cuisine
I absolutely love this place. With the cool, minimalist decor, the small number of covers, the cosy atmosphere, the delicious food and the fantastic cocktails, there is very little not to love. The sharing-style menu has plenty of options for meat, fish, vegetarian and vegan lovers, the food is spiced well, and the menu is constantly refreshed with new and exciting dishes. It is always busy and loud but in the best way possible, creating a sense of vibrancy at dinner. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly; they care about the food and service they provide. Overall, a 10/10 experience and I have now been back on 20+ occasions with the same high standard I have come to love and expect.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing second visit
I visited for the first time just before covid and it was wonderful. However after deciding to return I was very disappointed. The foo was still good but portions were tiny and very expensive. We had 1hr 45mins to eat - which just isn't enough for a table of 4. We had barely finished (and hadn't finished our drinks when they put the bill down and asked us to go. They offered for us to finish our drinks standing up outside in the cold which is disappointing for a dinner which cost over ยฃ300. The toilets were beyond disgusting to the point they were unusable. I haven't seen anything that bad outside of a festival. I would not return.

superb food in the heart of soho - atmosphere is superb and sri lankan food at its best - huge variety with plenty of spice - not many dishes low in spice. distinctive atmosphere. the food portions were not big but not unexpected due to its location - the alcohol is very expensive
Be the first to ReplyThey're incentivised to cancel your table and keep deposit money.
Given the high cost of the deposit they seem more than happy to keep that even if you arrive on the 10th minute of the 10 minute grace period. Unacceptable business practice.

My third visit. Iโve previously loved it. This time though I was sat on one of the bar stools against the wall. The seating is fixed and it was uncomfortable. The food portions for mains were tiny and expensive ยฃ26 for a halibut main that was two forkfuls each. The service is still friendly and a couple of the dishes tasty but itโs lost the wow.
Be the first to ReplyGreat evening with excellent food
Second time I have stayed at Paradise Soho and I was even more amazed! We ate almost ten of the dishes (small tapas) together and were absolutely fascinated by almost all of them! An impressive mixture of different kitchen styles, but all exciting, tasteful, enchanting! Both the food and the ambience an absolute star!
Be the first to ReplyNice enough food but crazy pricing
The four of us enjoyed our meal at Paradise and the staff were very friendly and helpful. However the portion size of some dishes was a joke. Particularly the cashew nut and hazelnut curry. It would also have been helpful if it was made clear on the menu that the aubergine dish is a cold dish.

We came here on a recommendation from Topjaw. We booked a table for lunch ahead of time. When we arrived the greetings from the staff were very flat, like they were not bothered. We were sat in the window which was OK but this place is small. The food was nicely explained but though Britten teeth really. Cocktails were small and expensive which is ok but donโt expect too much. Food was nice but very small dishes for the price. One dish was 2 skinny prawns. Tasted good. Overall it was ok. If the food sizes were a little bigger and the staff a little happier then great. Give it try if you fancy it.
Be the first to ReplyParadise - The Heaven Of Sri Lankan Cuisine
It is a pleasure to be writing about the restaurant Paradise as it is a restaurant with such great food and interior design. Firstly, the stir-fried devilled prawns were absolutely commendable in both spice and flavor and the texture was the nice soft but also crunchiness expected from prawns. Also, another aspect that contributed to the dish was the mango chutney. With the correct balance of the mango taste, sweetness and other flavors the mango chutney was the perfect dressing for the prawns. Finally, the dry-fried minced chicken was at the absolute top. The roasted spices really gave the dish that Indian sub-continent flavor. However , though it is quite spicy, it is a dish made for Indians and Sri Lankans. The interior design really caught my eye with its simplistic, grayish and industrial design and look.

Delicious food, nice decor, and lovely staff - what more could you ask for? We tried a number of dishes and liked every single one, plus the cocktails were strong and tasty. We also loved that the menu is designed โtapas styleโ so you can try and share a bunch of plates. Yum!
Be the first to ReplyLoved this place!
Delicious, flavorful, fresh food -- loved the spice and every dish surprised us. Yes, these are tapas-sized plates -- but they aren't expensive and we left full and very happy. We sat outside and enjoyed the location, though that part might not be for everyone -- the inside was small but pretty and cool on a hot summer evening. Overall would go back in a second, really enjoyed the whole experience.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible !
Has to be one of the biggest ripoffs in London. Exorbitant prices for minuscule portions with very little resemblance to Sri Lankan cuisine. Cramped and noisy.
Be the first to ReplyParadise inside, Hell outside
This great little restaurant is in the wrong place. Its neighbours include a fetish shop, a couple of 'massage parlours', a takeaway serving dubiously shaped desserts as well as rowdy bars and chancers eyeing up potential targets. Serving tasty sharing plates of modern Sri Lankan cuisine in a dimly lit small space with booths, bar stools and a couple of outside seats. The spice grapefruit mezcal margarita is delicious and compliments the food well. Service was generally sharp and food arrived in a reasonably well timed way. Most sharing plates have 3 items (e.g. scallops, the fiery, delicious prawns) while most groups are 4s, making sharing awkward. This should be flagged on the menu. The restaurant would be better placed in the northern end of Frith or Dean st or in covent garden but certainly the chef in producing aspiration food.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and lovely staff in the main let down by poor service at the end, each time
The food is awesome although for sharing plates the presentation of items in the singular didn't make heaps of sense and involved awkward cutting at times. What lets this place down is poor training to staff on how to turn tables effectively but also politely! I've been twice now and on both occasions our waiter has failed to confirm the 80 min turn time when seating us, nor has given us the typical 5 minute warning that our time is nearly up. On our last visit, this was signalled by the waiter turning up at the table with the card machine, interrupting my friend mid sentence and shoving the machine between us asking 'are you splitting the bill or is it on one card, as your time is up now'. Please note that my gripe isn't with the need to turn tables, or indeed the need to sometimes have to hasten people along, I've worked in plenty of places where I've had to do this. However, for the pricing of the wine and menu, and the implications for service this implies as opposed to say, a Bella Italia or a Pizza Express, the lack of attention here was disappointing compared to, for example, somewhere like Ottolenghi or Bright, where the same need is communicated in a far politer way and doesn't leave you feeling like you're just an inconvenience.

Great little place for business dinners and socials alike. The staff were attentive, continuously ensuring that we had everything that we needed. The food was bursting with flavour - egg hoppers were fantastic. The cocktail menu was just right, a nice variety and not too many to choose from to leave you overwhelmed. Thanks for a great night!

Paradice is a small restaurant in Soho. The food plates are typically spicy. In spite of other reviews I have to say we felt the main size portions were a decent size. Limited wine selection. But it was ok.
Be the first to ReplyClever commercial idea
Rent a small space in Soho, paint it grey, serve tiny portions, ensure rapid turnover by allowing only 80 minutes for bar clients and introduce a very aggressive cancellation policy. The food was excellent but some dishes were so small as to be a joke at the price,e.g. pineapple curry was a small wedge of fruit in an interesting gravy, for ยฃ9.50 plus12.5%. The cheapest white wine is ยฃ30 . Service was better than expected, given I had read some criticisms. There has to be better value out there, even if it means Tooting!
Be the first to ReplyHalf portions
Last time I ate here I thought it was wonderful. The hogget rolls are delicious, but this time, I see it has become hogget ROLL. Just one, rather than two as shown in all of the photos. Every dish has been halved, which in a sharing restaurant makes it laughably difficult to share. The portion sizes are such an overt rip off you almost think they might try to charge you for an empty plate just to see if youโll say anything. Extremely disappointing and feels like they are taking the ****.
Be the first to ReplyMoney-grabbing cancellation policy; uncomfortable seating; food OK
We were visiting our son and his girlfriend in London and they had booked this well in advance for 7 pm on a Saturday. On Saturday morning they tested positive for Covid so went to cancel immediately but were told they would be charged ยฃ35 per person and suggested we could either find 2 other people, or alternatively they could offer us a later table at 9.45 pm for the 2 of us (we had tested negative and felt fine btw). We were determined to spend the minimum, so ate a small meal elsewhere, then on arrival, had a few starters and no drinks. As we were only now 2, we were sat on stools at the bar, which were very uncomfortable. The total came to ยฃ26. If they had let us come at the normal time, we would have probably spent 5 times as much. The food we had was OK. The moral: donโt go here unless youโre absolutely sure you wonโt need to cancel in less than 24 hours!
Be the first to ReplyDelicious but small portions
I was walking up and down the street three times before I spotted the entrance due to its discrete appearance.
The food was Sri Lankan-based and full of flavours. I ordered the chicken curry, which was supposedly mild but felt the strength of the chilli. I was a little surprised by this as chilli is not part of the traditional Sri Lankan culture. We also had some roti and aubergine on the side. The roti was delicious!
Will recommend, although the portions were fairly small and you donโt have the table for particularly long. Also wish you got your wine served in actual wine glasses, and not water glasses.
Itโs good but not good enough
The restaurant looks quite uninviting from outside but inside it is stylishly industrial
The food is essentially south Asian tapas and it is done very well
Service is fine if a little soulless
The wine list is weird and I would file it under trying too hard - most people will really struggle to find a trusty friend and itโs not good enough to take a punt
The bottle we had was ghastly
It all looks very good despite that until you put enough dishes together to leave replete
At this point you get a bill that would not be out of place in a starred restaurant and whilst this place is good and different itโs still a pretty unceremonious quick in and out and in no way merits the price
Wonโt return
Lovely lunch
Excellent very flavoursome meal. Very attentive service. Very small portions, so you need to order several between two, which takes the price up
