Osteria dei Cavalieri Pisa Reviews
Fabulous restaurant
Advise to book. It is quite small and we saw many people turned away as it was busy. Very good food quality, friendly service, good wine choices. Set menus for meat, fish, veggie as well as full a la carte. Best food we had in Pisa. Highly recommended. Also recommended in Michelin guide.
I love the setting of this restaurant.
They cook the pizza traditionally in front of you. This place gets packed very quickly. I tried the pizza carbonara. Staff is very friendly.
You can tell that this is a longtime establishment taking
You can tell that this is a longtime establishment taking great pride in serving patrons from all over the world. The quality of the cuisine is spectacular and impressive. The service attentive and very professional. I never felt rushed even though I arrived 20 min prior to lunch service closing. I'll remember this experience for a long time.
Bad don't go into this Res
Above all, don't go to this restaurant in the front there are all the macaroons you get, it makes you want to, however, the restaurant is ugly but the welcome is very friendly and we are lucky to have the last table, the restaurant is full... we order and there the total disappointment tasteless starters, Osso bucco with tasteless beans and pasta with asparagus and rabbit swimming in salt water, I was offered equally filthy ravioli! The bill is also steep!!! How can we be on all the guides??? The couple at the table next to us quickly asked for the bill after the dish, we were fooled! If our bad experience can be of use...
Great
Amazing welcome, excellent raw materials, simple but not obvious dishes, good value for money. It deserves it
Don't go there, there are plenty of good restaurants in Pisa
Very busy but BAD Tough and tasteless wild boar dish 20 min wait at the table although reserved... very average service and wine Dear !
Osteria dei Cavalieri?? WOW!!
Apart from the not negligible quality/price ratio, a big round of applause to the dining room service for its professionalism, kindness and friendliness equal only to the quality of the dishes and the raw materials: congratulations indeed! Thanks see you next time!
Don't miss it!
A delicious dinner with Tuscan specialties and an extra stroke of inventiveness. Everything was excellent from starters to desserts. The highlight: Francesca's service (the great one) who knows how to combine professionalism with friendliness! Upon leaving we greeted each other with a hug like old friends!
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
A wonderful place, a unique experience. Professionalism, uniqueness and great pampering, from start to finish! The great welcome and amazing dishes: from starters to desserts. To try and try again every time you want attention! Congratulations we'll see you again soon 😎😎😎
Excellent restaurant
When we pass through Pisa we always stop in this restaurant, the food is excellent, we always leave happy.
Beyond the square, a small miracle in the kitchen
Welcoming place, friendly and competent staff, well-prepared dishes and quality ingredients. The desserts are also excellent, the castagnaccio is definitely worth trying.
Its a 10 from me!
I had already reserved from the UK as this restaurant is renownedly busy, I would advise any UK visitors to do the same as so many 'roll ups' were turned away while I was dining. The atmosphere is very Italian and it in no way bows to the general tourist likes and dislikes, it is unashamedly regional cuisine and done exceptionally well. As is normal in good restaurants here a basket of bread and a large bottle of still or sparkling water arrives on the table while the menu is perused. I chose my courses and a bottle of the delicious Derthona Vigneti Massa, an estate bottle white wine of refreshing character. My starter was mussel and clam soup and boy was it "musselled and clammed"! It was almost a main on its own. I followed this with a delightful tagliatelline plus rabbit and asparagus, scrumptious. Onto a main of lamb chops with a side of various grilled vegetables, mouthwateringly tasty. Pear and cinnamon pie with coffee and a digestive to finish. I was supremely satisfied, so much so I booked for later in the week, by chance they managed to fit me in and once more they did not fail to please! No pictures of the following meal but it included the tremendously tasty Tuscan style tripe (don't be put off British visitors it is really really good), then chickpea and mushroom soup, wild boar in a chianti sauce on polenta, finishing with a local cheese board. The next time I'm in Pisa I know where I will be heading to eat!
Honest about fish.
Very classic, really fast service. I appreciated the honesty most of all. There were razor clams on the menu but they weren't serving them that day because they hadn't found them of suitable quality. Quiet place.
Visit if you are in Pisa!
We really liked this restaurant. Classic Italian traditional restaurant, popular with locals, and very welcoming. The sort of restaurant that can be hard to find these days. The food was varied and imaginative, plus not expensive. I had fresh pasta with white truffles grated on top by the chef which was superb. We both had the scottaditto which were wonderful! Nice wines by the glass. Highly recommended, only a short walk from the main sights. .
Fantastic simple quality Italian cooking at a great price.
Two of us had dinner here in October. The food was just fabulous - very simple - great seasonal ingredients cooked perfectly. The service was super - two busy ladies - and the wine good value - overall - Michelin quality food at gastropub prices.
Good food, better service. By the beautiful Arno river and multiple buses
Located in between the Arno River and the Piazza dei Cavalieri, this restaurant was accommodating, the food was good and the service was excellent. Although there were only 2 servers, over the course of the night they were astute, helpful, and friendly. The ambiance was relaxed and conducive towards conversation. The “Fried Dough with Tuscan Ham” was a delicious starter, and a must-have. According to my family, the octopus and pasta dishes were also very good. However, the reason this is not 5 stars is the lamb chops that I ordered. They were small, tough and I would not recommend them. As a whole, the restaurant is definitely worth a visit if you are looking for a high class restaurant with good food and better service.
