Italian food should not be this expensive
Italian food of the quality we had should not be so expensive. The gnocchi was in a pizza bowl (nice touch) but had about five very small pieces of pasta and an overwhelming amount of sauce. The presentation was not worth the expense.
Be the first to ReplyUnderwhelming, Overrated and Overpriced
Seated 30 minutes after reservation time. Poor attitude by hostess. Noisy atmosphere. Wildly over-priced. Average presentation. Dry, overcooked 42 dollar veal osso bucco. Acceptable if uninspired pasta. Nothing original or creative going on here. For the average quality and poor service. Waiter brought out one of our guests main course 15 minutes before the others arrived because "it is easier and quicker to fix". One gets the feeling that this place is overbooked and understaffed. 400 dollars and change for 5 people. I wouldn't mind that if it were worth it, but sad to say, it was a waste of money...fine dining prices for diner service. Cannot recommend and will not return. If this is the best Italian SLC has to offer....then OUCH.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Italian on par with North End
We stopped for a quick dinner before a flight and were glad we did. The food was delicious and the staff were wonderful. Very responsive to our tight timeframe. I wish we had more time as the food was on par with what you'd get at a North End place in Boston.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious dinner and attentive service
Parking is scarce and nearby parking may be expensive. Three of us went here for dinner and all of us loved their dinners which were Tagliatelle bolognaise, Penne al la Norma and Lasagna verde. We started off with caesar salads which were well dressed. The tiramisu was particularly good, and notably was made with a thin layer of cake rather than ladyfingers. The restaurant was busy which meant the open space is noisy and at times it was hard to have a conversation without having to repeat oneself. We certainly will come back because the food is terrific.
Be the first to ReplyPretty Good Food, Loud Inside
Dined here with friends. We were seated inside. The indoor area is VERY loud. Service was pretty slow which normally wouldn't bother us that much, but we couldn't hear each other, our water glasses were empty and we were not offered drinks until about 10-15 minutes of sitting there. Our waiter was kind and did apologize for the delay. I know that this is a very common situation these days. Super unfortunate. The food was just ok. We each had a salad and different dishes. We all agreed on the lack of flavor. If you go, try to eat outside. It did look lovely out there.

When I asked our server about a particular wine and he responded, “it’s dry”, I knew our dining experience would be nothing special. Ditto the food. A Caesar Salad with minimal chicken looked like it emerged from a grocery store kit. The lasagna was unremarkable. Both food items felt overpriced for their quality and minimal portion size. Service was impassive except for the warm host who greeted, seated and wished us a nice evening.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect for couples night out.
Osteria Amore was a perfect setting for our two couples. The service and food were amazing! From the moment we arrived the staff was attentive and professional. Our appetizers, octopus (Polpo alla Griglia) and caprese, were a perfect prelude to great entrees— risotto special with shrimp, diavola pizza, and tagliatelle fungi. Highly recommend! Make reservations a couple of weeks in advance.
Be the first to ReplyService, Food, and Flies
When we showed up for our reservation, 9/14/21, we were told that we could not sit at either of the tables, for four, on the patio. It was a beautiful evening and not one table was being used inside. Every guest was seated outside. The hostess told us that we could not be seated outside, due to staffing issues. It is not a large restaurant, and we could not figure out what the difference would be if the server took care of us inside or outside. We were seated inside and the service was excellent, especially since we were the only table inside, at that time. The food was also very good. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The only annoyance that we experienced, at our table, was the abundance of flies that we had to keep swatting away from us and our food. We did not linger, after we ate. On our way out, we noticed that there were three other tables in use inside, and the entire patio was full outside, including the two tables that we had requested.
