Two pieces in I knew this place was great
Yum! Great selection. Great quality. Great service. Iโll come here again and again. Seems like itโd be great for a date too. Yum!
Be the first to ReplyNice Surprise
I was surprised by the dinner menu. No rolls. Straight up sushi/sashimi. I wasnโt sure I would find anything I liked but I gave it a try. OMG! Amazing and so fresh. Who needs fancy rolls????
Be the first to ReplyDiverse selection, especially for those with deep pockets
My wife and I ate lunch there for the first time. The location is convenient and the atmosphere inside the establishment is good. There is a substantial selection on the menu; however, it is a difficult menu due to lack of photos or detailed descriptions. The names of the menu items are not common to those at many other establishments. We had to look around at the other tables to see what others were having. We saw what looked appealing and asked the waiter the name of that particular item. We made good choices because the sushi was outstanding. The service was also outstanding and attentive. The prices vary from somewhat high to extraordinarily high. There are menu items from about $20 dollars to $150 to $250 to $500. We were in the $25 dollar range, but it was good nevertheless. We would likely return and we recommend giving it a try.
Be the first to ReplyFresh sushi... Served/prepared in the wrong order
Dinner with work colleagues - four. The only compliant was the sushi/sashimi was served in the wrong order and the miso soup was an after thought. Fresh, sweet, and great presentation but the disjointed service was frustrating.
Be the first to ReplyAny Fresher and I'd Be a Fisherman
Granted, we were a large party that essentially dropped in on a weekend night. The wait, though, wasn't too long. Truthfully, we waited longer for service than for a table!
Fortunately, the wait was worth it. Our sushi dishes were delicious. The freshness of the fish surprised even my Korean guests. Whether it be sushi or sashimi this was a culinary delight. The restaurant decor is open, modern, sparse yet welcoming.
Again, the main thing lacking is service - at least by American standards. I waited an inordinately long time for my hot sake, something you'd think would be a breeze in a Japanese restaurant. Despite the service lapses, we would definitely return.
The quality of sushi is great - Service is lacking though
I've been to the one in Walnut before and have been wanting to try their new Orange County location out!
The interior is definitely a step up from their original location - but the service was lacking.
Oo toro charges a premium on their sushi - which is fine - because their sushi is definitely good quality - you can easily spend about $200 per person here just on the food (not including drinks)
I definitely would recommend you come for the food - just beware that you are not going to get first class service because their restaurant does not emphasis on service
Other sushi restaurant in the are I would recommend would be 'Hamamori' in South Coast Plaza mall, and 'Sushi Roku' in Fashion Island mall.
