Don’t bother unless you want to burn money
One of the sad things about service these days is the lack of humanity and soul. The food was mediocre and the service was really lacking in their ability to be personable. Why bother to go out if your server doesn’t care about your experience. The food was substandard and what was sad is that our party was directed to focus on the food. Wrong move. Heirloom tomatoes were not ripe and tasted like commercial Beefsteak grocery store tomatoes. The Peach Burrata salad was half pluots - a substitution that did not work. When this was brought to the attention of the server she apologized but didn’t take it off the bill. This is a restaurant that was half empty and for good reason - this is not the place to be. kudos to the manager Jonathan for acknowledging the severe deficits of our experience. Without him, this restaurant should close.
Be the first to ReplyMeh. Michelin, huh?
Visited here in December 2021 and enjoyed the experience. The staff were very friendly and created a nice environment.
The decor of this establishment was also nice, nothing over the top but had classic trendy restaurant ambiance.
The food was decent. I was not blown away by anything in particular. We ordered the cornbread, truffle pizza, maltagliati pasta, nerano pizza, loup de mer.
The best dish served was the loup de mer (sea bass) and probably is the best thing on the menu.
I wouldn’t visit again based on food alone. The staff would be the reason I visit again.
Tasty - great vibe
We stopped here for a late-night nosh. Great pizza - good drinks. The amazing outdoor area was beautiful at night. Fun interiors. Attentive staff.
Be the first to Replyexpensive and unpleasant
I live in the neighborhood and have enjoyed this restaurant several times. Yesterday I had Saturday brunch there. The noise level in this restaurant is always high, but the trio playing (lovely music) made a conversation almost impossible.
The server could not have been nicer, but was stretched way too thin. He apologized but the fact was we were barely waited on. And my cheeseburger, which he sold as being "delicious" was grossly over-salted. We were in a hurry, so I didn't bother to send it back. It was one of the worst burgers I've had.
Insult to injury was a lunch tab that was over $100. It felt like a $40 dollar lunch. We did have a glass of wine each, so that contributed, but it was still an incongruous price given the food quality, stretched service and decibel level.
I rarely give bad reviews. But this was exceptionally bad. There are lots of other options nearby and I'll be taking my business to them.
Crap in a good neighborhood
I live next door. Before Norah came we had a quiet block with respectable restaurants. Now we have a trashy valet service and trashy music blaring through speakers until 1 am every Thursday. My friend is a bartender there and he constantly tells me how the food is tainted. Not to mention they don’t care if they’re disturbing local residents. Don’t bother with this place. It’s just another wanna be fancy LA joint where you’ll pay 15 for cornbread when you could make better cornbread for a dollar at home. Don’t waste your money.
Be the first to ReplyFood was great, service was good
Had a nice dinner here the the other night and got to experience a few items on their menu including the Risotto which was really robust and flavorful along with 4 pieces of bread (although they did walk around and offer more as there was considerably more cheese left over) and the Cornbread which was rally amazing and therefore I highly recommend. I also ordered the Ora King Salmon which was also prepared really nicely on a small bed of potatoes. The food was nicely presented and quite flavor filled. The service was good, not stellar as our server often got distracted. The place had just a few other tables. I presume it gets busier on the weekends.
Be the first to ReplyMostly excellent food with nice casual yet elegant ambience
Location - along Santa Monica Blvd , with street parking nearby on a fri night
Ambience - casual elegance - very nice.
The food - mostly wow . The most memorable dish was the gnocchi with truffle - it just melted in my mouth . The gnocchi was very nicely done And the truffle so tasty . The magliotali (?spelling ) pasta dish was to die for - super tasty pasta that was done just right . The duck dish was excellent too . The only criticism I have is the scallop dish - the scallops were AMAZING - but the yoghurt sauce sitting below ruined the dish - it made the bottom of the scallops soggy , and the sauce just did not match with the scallops .
Overall , a great dining experience - most of the dishes were so amazing that I’m willing to forgive them for that silly yoghurt sauce in the scallops dish !
Good food and relaxed brunch environment
My daughter and I had Sunday brunch at Norah. I had the fried chicken sandwich and the ancient grains pancakes. I devoured the sandwich which was good and being mostly full, I was unable to finish the pancakes which were a little dry and needed more syrup. My daughter had the french toast with pistachio nuts and the vegetarian burrito. The vegetarian burrito was not as delicious as my daughter had hoped but the French toast was good. It seemed appropriate for us both to order two items from the brunch menu but neither of us could finish it all. I had green tea which came in a glass pot shaped like a beehive and my daughter had the coffee latte. The atmosphere was casual and relaxed and there was an accordionist and a bass player providing pleasant musical accompaniment. Service was fine but not spectacular and it was a bit noisy for normal conversation.
Be the first to ReplyGood quality food, but service not fully attentive
The food is well prepared and testy. The choices are a bit limited and all even not available when we were there. We order salmon, but it was not possible even though it early in the evening - no other fish as an alternative. Not fully attractive waiter.
Be the first to ReplyNot a bad place
4 of us went for dinner. The food was quite alright. Nothing too memorable but good enough. We picked 2 different wines but were not completely happy with them (could just be us, nothing to do with the restaurant). Ambiance was cozy. Service was adequate.
