Nobu Barangaroo Reviews
Is very good, good enough at these prices?
Cannot fault the service it was perfect. Food was great we had the wagyu type tacos which were beautiful morsels, the tuna sashima salad was fresh and tangy, the lobster tempura with honey was a fantastic dish and the sashimi was mixed (scallop/tuna outstanding, snapper and salmon we have had better) but it was tasty, fresh and presented beautifully. Mochi to finish was nice as well. Wine menu though was poor, I expect markup but nonalcoholic wine bottles ($13 in store @ $52) and very limited 'by the glass' selections of some very average/poor wines means your options are ridiculously limited if only one person is drinking.
Terrible and expensive experience
Terrible and expensive experience last weekend with friends. It’s seems Nobu is in trouble with personnel. We arrived at 9pm and took half an hour for the waitress to get our order. Tuna Caviar was not good despite the $60 dollars price. Overall food was average. It has not been our first time, but definitely was the last.
amazing service and food
The customer service was exceptional, celebrated my daughters birthday and the staff were hospitable and quick to take orders when required. Highly recommend
Signature 7 course dinner was excellent
Dinner for 2 in Feb 2023. Have read previous reviews so we were interested to experience Nobu ourselves. We had the Nobu Omakase signature 7 course dinner. Food was excellent and 7 courses were more then enough. Service was attentive, no problems and no loud music thankfully. Found the beer and wine selection very good. Yes expensive but a memorable dinning experience. Would go back again.
Food was nice, service abysmal
3 of us went to Nobu for lunch last Saturday . The food was Nice, but, nowhere worth the price. The service was abysmal, right from the start. We were kept waiting at least 10 minutes before they showed us to our seats.they delivered the wrong food, said they would serve the correct dish, they didn’t, but they charged us, we ordered wine, they delivered it to the serving bay, but after 15 minutes we had to go & get it ourselves. We also had to pour it ourselves. The staff rather then serving customers, generally chatted amongst themselves. We complained & Han a supervisor was understanding & apologized. They asked us to complete a survey, which we did outline the above, they have done nothing , I don’t know why we completed the survey. How they can charge the sort of money they do & then provide this service is mystifying.
Super expensive low quality hotel restaurant
We booked for our daughter's significant birthday and asked for a view. We got one, over a building site. The music was an awful thumping musac that was way too loud for an upmarket establishment. When we asked to turn it down, they said they couldn't, because it was a 'DJ'! Weird. The service started out OK, but soon deteriorated. Almost harassed to order our food, when it did come out it was hard to work out how they made Japanese food so incredibly bland. Tiny. Tasteless. Served on crappy white plates you can buy at Kmart for $3. Then they forgot to take our plates away and when we tried to get their attention, we simply couldn't until I stood up. "Bill please, no tip, sorry". This is NOT a place for a special occasion. There are literally dozens of better up market restaurants in Sydney to choose from.
A lovely experience
After dining at Nobu in Dubai a few years ago and loving it, I was excited to see how Nobu in Sydney would match up. We had the Signature Seven course tasting menu and it was delightful-- I particularly enjoyed the sushi course.
No for Nobu
Super expensive. Great drinks , great service , shocking food especially given the prices. Left hungry, really disappointed
Great food but service is not up to speed
Have a business dinner here. This is the fourth time we are here, the food is always good yet the service and waitresses need more training. Water did not get top up until being ask and even so take a long time to come back. After few entrees we order rice with four main dishes. But the rice did not serve after the third mains already arrived. Have to chase it, not a five stars restaurant.
Lived up to its reputation- great experience
Beautiful restaurant with great views. Staff were super great! Food was excellent. We had the set menu and the pace of delivery was perfect. Each dish was a pleasant surprise. Desert was the show stopper for me being a sweet tooth. Green tea mochi icecream- yum.
Connect with users posting reservations for Nobu Barangaroo
AppointmentTrader is a community-driven platform where users can exchange their reservations or leverage their personal relationships with Nobu Barangaroo. Buyers can make informed decisions using automated seller ratings, which reflect past transactions and reliability.
Each posting on AppointmentTrader shows you which user submitted it and along with that provides a trackrecord of that user which indicates how much experience
the user has and how many percent of their transactions resulted in them issuing a refund.
If there is no user posting that fits your schedule, you can bid on your preferred time.
Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Nobu Barangaroo at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Nobu Barangaroo page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* PerceptiveWash44, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* PerceptiveWash44 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to PerceptiveWash44 for any questions Peter may have as PerceptiveWash44 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* PerceptiveWash44 now uses their connections at Nobu Barangaroo to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If PerceptiveWash44 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, PerceptiveWash44 receives the $200 reward which is credited to PerceptiveWash44's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Nobu Barangaroo!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
