Crazy good meal last night! Our server, Gregory, was incredible. Funny, polite, so attentive -- we'll be back!!

Mother Wolf, you've probably heard of it and that's why you're here. Despite all the hype and other people's thoughts on it, it continues to be one of our favorite restaurants after multiple visits in the past year. TLDR: Food and service is 5/5, make a reservation on Resy 7 days in advance, get the prawns, secondis are good but if you stick to pasta you'll get (in our opinion) the full experience, dessert is skippable unless the menu truly speaks to you. Full review below. Parking: There's a valet service right in front of the entrance. I don't recall the exact amount, but it's the typical $15-$20 LA parking tribute. Street parking can be tough in this area. You're already balling out on dinner, just pay the valet fee. Service and Ambiance: The service every time has been incredible. From the hostesses to our servers, everyone was attentive and kind. The waiters provided great recommendations and kept the mood light with friendly banter. Comparable LA restaurants in this scene can feel quite stuffy, not this place. On one of the occasions, it was our anniversary and they provided complimentary champagne! Make sure to make reservations on the Resy app 7 days in advance. The restaurant page on the app outlines the specific time reservations open. Food: We've tried quite a few items here so I'll only include the highlights. Fiori Di Zucca (Squash Blossoms) 4/5: Fried perfectly and pleasantly salty. The cheese inside is light and flavorful. Polpette Di Coda (Oxtail Meatballs) 4/5: Crispy on the outside and extremely flavorful on the inside. If you're a fan of oxtail, would highly recommend. Gamberi In Salsa Verde (Blue Prawns) 5/5: Definitely one of our favorite appetizers and menu item overall. Prawns are always very fresh and cooked perfectly. The salsa verde sauce is amazing and the trick is to keep the plate on the table to dip your pizza crust into. Diavola Pizza (2.5/5): Good Roman style pizza. We preferred the pastas however but if you're going for the first time you should try a pizza. Spaghettone Alla Gricia (5/5): Our favorite pasta. Think a Cacio E Pepe with a salty guanciale (more flavor!). Rigatoncini All Vaccinara (Oxtail Ragu) (4/5): We're a fan of oxtail, so we loved this pasta. The pasta shells ensure that each bite is filled with oxtail goodness. Scottadito (Australian Lamb Rib Chops) (5/5): Lamb was cooked perfectly and had a great flavor (not too game-y or salty). If I recall, the dish typically comes with 4 ribs, but we were able to order one additional rib for our party of 5. Dessert (Sorbetti and Olive Oil Cake) (2/5): Unfortunately we weren't too crazy about the dessert at Mother Wolf. Granted, we only tried it once during our first time. Since then, we prefer to grab our dessert elsewhere. (Levain Bakery is just ~15 minutes away if you want some of the best cookies in LA!) Overall we'd definitely recommend Mother Wolf. The food, atmosphere and service is impeccable. The vibe inside harkens to low lit Italian restaurants in NYC.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was spectacular, as was our server Jenn.
..BUT the staff at the check in stand was inexcusably rude and unprofessional. We had to wait a half hour past our reservation for a table on Sunday night, and the host and hostess on duty were at first indifferent, then rude, then bordering on hostile. It wasn't until manager Roy Morales stepped in that we were finally seated, and he went out of his way (along with Jenn) to make the evening a success. It's not complicated -- treat customers with respect, make some sort of gesture if there's a mixup. But the front of house staff acted like our group was simply beneath them. Do better, Mother Wolf - you're a great restaurant, but your hosts and hostesses need a major attitude adjustment.

Where do I begin? The reception by the lovely group of the charismatic hostesses... Our amazing waiter Gregory?...The warm greeting from manager, Josh? It was all an overwhelming dining experience from start to finish. A round of Prosecco followed by a Rosso pizza was a complete surprise The occasion was my mother's birthday (which I never disclosed to them), and she has never felt so well taken care of in her 75 years! The lamb chops perfectly cooked over fire, hefty salad perfectly seasoned and dressed, fresh pastas perfectly timed and dessert was to die for. We had When the smoke cleared and we were ready to go, mom and pops insisted on finding Josh for a big hug and warm thank you. This post/ review is a late one as Josh is no longer there, but I'd like to express how thankful we were and give the restaurant and team the best review I can. We have been back since and our experience has been the same!!! Thanks a million, Mateo and Dania

I've had Mother Wolf on my radar for ages, and finally had the chance to swing by. Booked a table for 6:30 on a Thursday night. Arrived 15 minutes early and scored street parking - no need for valet. Hostess greeted me and seated me right away. Now, onto the food. Nothing here blew my mind, but everything was executed perfectly. The squash blossoms were fried to perfection, the Margherita pizza was thin and crispy (though a tad light on sauce), the Cacio pepe pasta was simple but satisfying, and the rib eye cap was cooked just right - though the potatoes stole the show! A bit odd when the side outshines the main. Service was top-notch, with everyone super attentive, and the ambiance was super cute and very vintage chic vibes. I'll definitely be back to try more of their best selling dishes. Mother Wolf is a solid dining spot, just a smidge overhyped (in my humble opinion)
Be the first to ReplyEverything about Mother Wolf was exceptional.
From the stunning interiors, food, to the amazing service. You can spend money on a good meal anywhere, but here, we felt so taken care of by every single staff member there, and they were all so kind. Especially our amazing waiter Gregory- He was fun to talk to, attentive, and even when it was busy, you can tell he really cared about his table's experiences- Which we really appreciated!! Ask for Gregorryyyy!!! The food: The bruschetta and squash sprouts - amazing. And we will definitely be back to try more of the pastas and of course, the amazing vibes brought on by the staff!

Hands down, my favorite restaurant in Los Angeles, but I could be biased. Request Andrew if he is working. You won't be disappointed.

HANDS DOWN THE SPOT!! The oxtail meatballs and blossom squash was out of this world! Our server Bruce omg sooo awesome!!! He was so knowledgeable on how the restaurant prepared their food to the history of why they called it mother wolf! The drinks were made perfectly! Ughhh we need more restaurants like this! Thank you Bruce and mother wolf with the best experience.

So much hype around this place and I was curious to see if it would live up to it. After my recent visit, I'd say Mother Wolf is definitely worth it to an extent. It's not the most amazing food I've ever had, but love the aura of the spot and I had a positive, memorable experience here overall. My sister and I came for her birthday dinner. We ordered the Squash Blossoms, the Blue Prawns, the Diavola Pizza and the Oxtail Ragu. The Squash Blossoms and the Blue Prawns were definitely the standout dishes for me. They exceeded my expectations with such unique flavor profiles. The sauce on the shrimp...wow.This was amazing and dipping your pizza in here is a game changer. Our server Gregory was great throughout. Incredibly attentive, friendly and provided us with some great recommendations. The only qualm we had during our experience here was that it took almost 40 minutes for our pasta to come out. We sat around for a really long time, and we were getting a bit impatient. And turns out, the Oxtail Ragu was honestly my least favorite dish. Leaning very al dente and a bit too salty for my taste buds personally. For dessert, Gregory brought out the Strawberry Sherbet with a candle for my sister's lil birthday treat which was very nice. The icecream was quite delicious and refreshing. If you're craving pasta, I think there's definitely better spots in LA, so I'd actually recommend leaning more into the appetizers / shareables game here.
Be the first to ReplyFav dishes were oxtail Ragu and cacio e Pepe.
Lettuce salad was great but too pricey .
Be the first to ReplyDisappointed after all the hype.
Beautiful art deco building and cool ambience. Cocktails are outstanding and appetizers we tried were also excellent- especially the burrata and prosciutto, squash blossoms and ox tail meatballs. Margherita pizza was solid but not inspiring, and the much hyped pastas were very disappointing. The rigatoni carbonara was inedible- sauce was congealed and gloppy and unappetizing. The spicy spaghetti was overpowered by too much heat. Server was friendly and attentive but tried to over sell items- she insisted we needed at minimum 8 items for 2 women and 2 men. We ordered 6 items and wish we hadn't ordered the 2 pasta dishes she recommended. We had over half of both left- mainly because they just weren't well executed. Heard it was similar to Carbone which we love in NYC and Dallas- so our expectations were high, and Mother Wolf just didn't t deliver the same elevated experience. It is over the top expensive- over $500 for our dinner and cocktails. If pastas had been better, wouldn't have minded so much. Recommend for cocktails and apps at bar. Skip the rest.

I was very excited to try this restaurant which is considered one of the hottest spots in town. When I walked in, I was surprised that it was the size of a Cheesecake Factory, but I was even more surprised after learning the food wasn't as good. Needless to say, I was not impressed by the average food. Pasta was fine but lacked any bold flavor and the meatballs were stringy and tasted like beyond meat even though they are oxtail. The pizza was good but there's a million good pizza joints in LA that are much less expensive. The ambiance was cool, with chic decor and dim lighting, but it felt like a lot of old stinky dudes in there. I will not be going back, but I doubt they'll be open long enough for me to return anyways.
Be the first to ReplyNo reservations.
No problem. There's room at the stunning bar. And the skilled and charming bartenders had next level service game. We kept it basic with pasta and salad. But nothing is basic at Mother Wolf. Every dish is art in your mouth. Masterpiece collision of flavors that celebrate Roman cuisine to its core. Bravo!
Be the first to ReplyA+ on all fronts! Atmosphere, food, service, drink.
... Everything. So happy we came and will return many more times. Thank you!

Beautiful restaurant, nice ambience, great service, and delicious food. We loved the Diavolo pizza so much that had to order extra to take home. Unfortunately reservation is very difficult but will try to return again to taste other items on the menu.
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to.
The food was truly amazing, as authentic as it gets. The service was top notch, everyone that we dealt with was professional and kind. I like the ambiance, it was an eclectic themed restaurant if you ask me. Would highly recommend if you do not have reservations that you arrive just before they open in order to get a spot at the bar. Otherwise you'll have to try and make a reservation which is difficult to do.
Be the first to ReplyThis place has it all.
Beautiful ambiance. Fantastic service. And excellent food. Squash blossoms are definitely a must and so is the cacio I pepe some of the best homemade pasta I've ever had. Our food was slightly delayed (weren't upset at all) and server comped both of our pasta dishes. Thomas was our server and he was spectacular. Would definitely recommend this place if you can get the reservation!
Be the first to ReplyWe were overall disappointed with our experience at mother
We were overall disappointed with our experience at mother wolf. We had an 8:45 reservation for 7 of us. Overall, the food was a 4.5/5, but the service was a 1.5/5. I give them the extra 0.5 on the service instead of a 1/5 because they did try to make it right when they screwed up massively, but it was too little too late. Food was generally excellent. Nothing was bad, and most things were especially good, but this place is so hyped and I feel like nothing was insanely craveable and memorable. There's so much good Italian in LA and you don't have to go here to get it. But you could arguably get that level of Italian here. But oh my god the service. Our waiter was absent for most of the night and essentially never checked in on us. They didn't seem super slammed and whenever we'd check on something that was lagging behind it's friends (my mom's forgotten Arnold Palmer that came out 25 minutes after the cocktails and wine), we'd get lame excuses instead of sincere concern ("it's brewing"...yeah right). Also, his attitude was far too casual and "TGI Friday's like" for how bad of a server he was. The big miss was that they forgot one of the pastas we really wanted, and the kitchen was closed by the time they realized it. Also his reaction to us bringing up the forgotten pasta was "oh they come out at different times". No, dude, you forgot to put it in. Only after that did the manager come by (who was absent all night in the setting of awful service) and apologize and say he'd hook us up with dessert. So we ordered 3 desserts (for 7 of us), and they sent out all these extra desserts but charged for the three we ordered. Just weird. Anyways, probably wouldn't go back. Which is a bummer cause we're so close and love good Italian.
Be the first to ReplyFood was delicious.
Ambiance was great. Service sucked. Unless you know how to speak Italian or do some heavy research on food, the servers will not help you. We came here to for galentines and mind you that it's nearly impossible to get a reservation. My dear friend stressed about getting reservations because the only times available were 10pm on any given day. You'd think for a first timer that they will help you understand the menu but they don't. We had 3 different servers (why?) and every time we asked what they suggested, it didn't sound good at all so we were left to guess. On top of everything else, trying to decide, we felt rushed because they kept coming back to see if we were ready. Like dude, you told us to order everything at once. Like give us time.Over hyped.

Came for dinner last night after waiting a while to finally get a reservation. The staff was great the vibe and decor were awesome. The food was very good as well. I feel as this place was hyped up way to much for what it was but nonetheless the food was great. I would definitely come back but definitely not rushing to do so. Order the prawns and the cacio Pepe.

Reservations may go quickly but once you see it snatch it! The food was great and so were the drinks! THE SQUASH BLOSSOMS ARE A MUST! To be honest the Rigatoncini Alla Vaccinara wasn't really anything special. I can't wait to come back here again
Be the first to ReplyI have been wanting to come to this restaurant since it
I have been wanting to come to this restaurant since it opened, and I was finally able to get reservations for a Friday night! First off to start, the area is great and in the center of Hollywood with lots of options around to go to after dinner. Valet parking and the entrance were very easy to locate and once you open the door, you'll see the beautiful interior which is unexpected from the outside. Our table was great, in the middle, closer to the kitchen area, and very lovely. The ambiance and music were good all night and this place is a very modern twist to a classic Italian restaurant. I'm giving five stars for my dining experience not only for the food but also the service. We had impeccable service all night from the start to the end of our meal. Our waiter was very informed of all the dishes on the menu and explained everything in detail to us before we ordered. He went through some of the popular menu items and then answered all of my questions about other dishes. He was also well versed about the alcohol and helped me pick my Amari of choice with dessert. We had clean plates almost after every dish and the other wait staff was also very attentive throughout the night from refilling our water glasses to asking us if we needed anything else. The sommelier of the restaurant also came and introduced himself in the beginning and let us know he was available should we have any questions. Overall, great dining experience but now I'll also give the reasons why the food deserves five stars! Our first round of drinks consisted of the negroni della casa which was nice and bitter with a large ice cube. My guest enjoyed a white wine, the Cataratto to be exact. For our stuzzi e sfizi, we ordered the fiori di zucca and suppli al telefono, better known as squash blossoms and risotto croquettes. The squash blossoms were amazing and the ricotta cheese was oozing with each and every bite. It's an absolute must try! As for the risotto croquettes, these were also very good and came in three pieces. It had a tomato sauce inside which was flavorful and didn't feel like it was too fried or cheesy. We didn't want to try a salad this time and also have prosciutto most of the time, so these appetizers were a nice change to our usual Italian food options. Now, for our pizza we decided to keep it simple and order the margherita. My first bite of this pizza was the divine moment where I was transported back to Italy. Wow. Amazingly thin, crisp and just the right amount of tomato sauce. It was absolutely delicious and I could've ordered another one just for myself. I think I ended up eating 3-4 slices and we didn't even have any leftovers. I highly recommend this pizza if you've ever been to Italy, it will not disappoint you. For our pasta, we ordered the tonnarelli cacio e pepe which was also quite good. It was the right amount for two people and had the perfect amount of pepper to it. And yes, we finished this entire dish as well. At this point, we ordered our second round of drinks and I tried the S.P.Q.R. which is just like a classic dirty martini and my guest enjoyed a second glass of the white wine. The highlight of the night though was our secondi dish which was the scottaditto better known as the lamb chops. They're served medium rare and I wouldn't have it any other way. I usually don't order lamb chops but since our waiter recommended it, we gave it a try instead of the prime ribeye. Wow, that salsa verde sauce and tenderness of the meat was just phenomenal. Every bite was juicy, flavorful and just right. It came with a side of greens which were also a good addition to the dish and complemented the lamb chops very well. For our dessert, we ordered the olive oil cake with gelato and I also got an Amari as an after-dinner digestif. Another great combination and recommendation from our waiter. The olive oil cake was warm and moist. The gelato was delicious and citrusy. My Amari had notes of caramel and rosewater with a nice kick of spice with every sip. It was very enjoyable to finish off the meal with this dish and drink while enjoying the atmosphere of the restaurant. We ended up being there for almost three hours and I didn't feel rushed at any point to get up and turn the table over. There are many other dishes and cocktails I would like to try from this restaurant and I will definitely be back but for my first experience, I truly enjoyed it and will be recommending it to friends and family. We had a special reason to come here, celebrate and splurge on a nice Italian meal but I will return on any given night given the chance to snag another reservation in the future!

It's super hard to get a reservation on Resy but sheesh, it's so worth it! Italian food is everything to me and this place shoots straight to the top of faves list. Showed up a little early, grabbed a delicious Old Fashion at the bar. Background music made for a chill vibe. We were Seated on time smoothly. The whole menu is in Italian and our service did a fantastic job making sure we understand everything and made some amazing recommendations. Oxtail Meatballs are a must try! Chef puts a speculator spin on classic Italian dishes. From the first sip at the at to my last bite of dessert I was so satisfied when I left. MotherWolf has me checking Resy every morning trying to book a table again. I'm trying every on the menu!
