🤮 1/5 - Worst service experience of my life

First off, I would like to specify that the food & cocktails that we had were absolutely phenomenal. But our experience with the service was absolutely terrible and one of the worst I've ever had. As two best friends that haven't seen each other in almost two years, who have a modest income and have been extremely isolated for the last year and a half, we were excited for our first night "out" to a fancy and unique restaurant. Unfortunately it was completely ruined by staff that just did not care at all about giving us even respectable service. We made reservations 3 weeks ahead of time for 8:30pm (the only available slot at the time) and made sure to anticipate being out in 1.5 hrs at 10pm. When we arrived we were told by the hostess that they were extremely behind and were having trouble flipping tables between seatings because patrons were taking well over the 1.5 hr allotted time period. Being a former hostess/server of 10+ years, this is something that I know can be tricky so we knew to practice some patience. I made sure to ask the hostess that even though we'd be seated later than planned, we wouldn't be rushed out due to the kitchen closing and she assured us we definitely would not be - I was still a little concerned but didn't want to assume this would be the case especially at such a sophisticated establishment. After waiting for 40 mins I suggested to the hostess that we start our meal at a higher bar table right next to the front window (we were uncomfortable with sitting indoors but the front window was wide open so felt there would be a good about of ventilation). We made sure to order our starters and drinks right away trying to make this process a little easier on the staff. It took 15 minutes for us to get our drinks because the bartender was sitting at the bar on her phone. We got our starters well before the bartender decided that maybe it was time to make our cocktails. This is where I started to get upset. We were doing everything we could to make the night easier on the staff and were already being treated like we were worthless. When our original table for our reservation was finally available on the patio it was an hour and 15 mins past our reservation time. The servers were obviously trying to figure out who would be staying to serve us and the gal that ended up with us was clearly very unhappy judging by the way she approached our table with no greeting and a brunt "so do you want more food or what?". We explained that we'd put in more food with our previous server and were met with "oh I have no idea what's even going on but I guess I have to find out". She then forced us to put in the rest of the food that we were planning to get which then all came out approx. 2 minutes later and were shoved hastily on to the table by who I am pretty sure was the floor manager that night. At this point we were frantically trying to eat the many course at once that we had hoped would come throughout our seating time at a leisurely but reasonable pace - as anyone expects at a sophisticated restaurant. It's worth it to mention that there were still other tables continuing their meals around us so it's not as if we were the only table in the restaurant just taking our sweet time completely ignoring the clues of closing. As I said we frantically ate as much as we could, feeling completely unwelcome, hurried, resented and worthless. At NO POINT did the server come back to ask us how our meal was or if we needed anything else. We wanted more flatbread for this amazing sweet miso/pepper chutney flatbread dish and I had to hunt my server down finding her sitting at the bar on her phone. Once again - I guess the staff at this restaurant are allowed to "clock out" whenever they see fit. This whole time - where we were obviously being rushed out and mistreated, the gentleman who I assumed was the manager did not come over once to apologize for the way the night had been, maybe offer us a free dessert or comp some of the food that came hastily that we shoved down our throats while they closed up the patio (sending the obvious message that we should just get out) as a way to maybe remedy the situation or acknowledge that we had a less than even decent time. We made a reservation 3 weeks ahead of time, planned to be out in 1.5 hrs as asked, showed up on time, remained patient when told we couldn't be seated right away and even began problem solving ourselves by suggesting we sit at that table in the window while we waiting for our original patio table. We even ordered quicker and made ourselves ready to go to make it easier on the staff to start us off later. We were punished for something that was not our fault. I know we've all had a rough year but please do better. Even after being patient, kind and mindful of the staff and what a rough time this has been for restaurants and their staffers, this was still completely unacceptable. Please consider NOT having 8:30pm as a reservation option because your staff and kitchen are obviously not willing to accommodate that seating time especially when it's pushed later because you don't give a long enough window for earlier seatings to leave. We did everything right and were still treated as though we were just some horrible late night walk ins. They also deleted my reviews from Facebook and Google and never responded to a private Facebook message and phone call.
