Fresh and inventive food
Five of us shared many different things and enjoyed them all. Fish was fresh and delicious. Many unusual preparations. Fish and Chips had nice, light batter but the fish was a bit dry. All our other seafood preparations were very good. Cooked carrot plate was delicious. The night we went, wine was 50% off. We tried the cheesecake and a 'smore pie for dessert and both were good, but the cheesecake was better. Service was super friendly and informative without being intrusive. We went midweek and we could linger a long time over dinner and never felt rushed or pressured to leave.

We saw this place on the way to the hotel, jet lagged like crazy. The Dudley Market is a cool venue and it felt like a perfect introduction to Venice. The service was very friendly and relaxed. The guests interesting to look at and the food was spectacular. Their burger is definitely on my global top three!
Be the first to Replygreat little place in the heart of Venice
this is a great little place in the heart of Venice. the space is small with a dozen tables and another 6 to 8 seats at the bar. food was delicious and the service was good. the place is a little loud. the people waiting for you to leave so they can sit down hover in the back watching you which is annoying. the parking is also a little challenging since they do not have a lot or valet. this place is definitely worth visiting.

Be the first to ReplyGreat Spot but Food Needs Improvement
Loved the space, great service, very friendly and relaxing atmosphere - menu sounded promising with a nice wine selection (1/2 price on Mondays). Sashimi platter (tuna sampler) was tasty and very fresh, but slices were too thick and large - hand roll was uneatable as we could not bite and cut thru the seaweed (old seaweed?), which they comped - delicious and fresh octopus in a disappointing thick chunky uninteresting tomato sauce - finally a delicious clam and mussel stew in a tasty spicy broth, but the bred was old and sour, it ruined it. So, great potential but kitchen needs to refine their attention to details.

Great little local spot away from all of the tourists (like us!). Food was delicious and the staff were great. Highly recommend if you like wine and seafood away from the crowds.
Be the first to ReplyIs it trying too hard. Or should I just learn to chill out.
This is what might happen to the Cadilac Hotel just across the road. (See review). Dudley Market a groovy restaurant/bar with exposed brickwork and shiny gonks placed strategically perfect on floor to ceiling height shelving. I feel like I'm writing this with an air of cynicism. I should be celebrating the gentrification of Venice, a place I have grown to love. The food looks amazing but I chose badly. And I also learned that American craft beers have extremely high alcohol-by-volume content, the typically around 8%! Note: Neither my bad selection of food nor the state of America beers is the fault of Dudley Mkt. I ordered the octopus, with a bowl of fries and the black rice Thai salad. What sort of combo is that?! The salad blew my brains out. Almost literally. It was psychopathic hot. It had no need to be that hot. It could have easily been challengingly hot. The flavour wasn't given a chance. The octopus was nice. But it didn't quite work with the fries and salad. On an upbeat note, the staff here are a delight. On the first night, I had just arrived after a long flight, they'd stopped serving but let me have a drink nonetheless. Back to the second night, I sat eating the mad hot salad staring at the funky shelving and slurping the high alcohol craft beer. Everything seemed to be on one level. I wondered if they are trying just a bit too hard. Maybe they should put some beers on the menu that aren't headache combustible, maybe dial down the searing heat in the salad and put some disheveled tat on the walls in amongst the cool stuff. Or maybe not? Its clearly doing well. Locals were dressed up and dining out and all looked like they were having a great time. I was just sat on my own with too much time to think!

Great little spot for brunch. Beautiful interior and delicious food to match. We had the crab benedict and the breakfast sandwich. The crab Benedict was unbelievable and very filling! Service was excellent, very attentive and personable.

I was at this place every day I was vacationing in Venice. I had coffee several times, full breakfast, and house made pastry. I'm sorry I didn't get to have more of their menu. Everything they make there is especially delicious, and the friendly treatment reinforces the desire come back.
