When I showed up with my wife, they refused to seat us pretexting there was an issue with the reservation. My wife is black, I didn't know the restaurant was that racist until now.

Went to Manko's last night (Friday) and before that, a Tuesday. Wanted to do a quick review. Summary - lovely place, good food, nice people - would highly recommend! For context, we are American, but pretty much no-one else in the place were tourists as far as I could make out. At the door we were greeted with a smile by Samuel - charming, polite, but you definitely wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of this guy! (also if we had just rolled up on a Friday with no reservation it might have been a problem, but he recognized us from the Tuesday). Inside, the hostess was very beautiful and exchanged compliments with my wife - again, charming and friendly. And inside, Gucci was very efficient and (on the Tuesday when we ate) was very detail oriented - knew all about the food and drinks and exactly how he wanted them made by his bartender. On the Friday "people" (very funny and charming guy) and Nelson (more serious but still friendly!) were very, very busy making drinks for the large crowd at the bar. The crowd was all well dressed, mostly 30+ I think, very happy and friendly. Side note - we ate there on the Tuesday from the full menu and all was very good. This being Paris, they are not geared for eating at the bar, but Gucci made an exception and asked the chef and so we were able to try the dishes - excellent! Oh, final thing, we left around 1am (I think!) and only just realized as we left the place had a nightclub at the back - people dancing, bottle service, music etc. Too crazy for this old(er) couple, but looked like a lot of fun for the well-heeled 30+ crowd. I see other reviews with pics of the owner - didn't meet or see him, but whoever he is, he has some very good staff here - every one was right on point, friendly, efficient, a real credit to the place. Merci beaucoup Manko's!

Racism is happening in this restaurant in broad daylight, shamelessly. If you support humanity, unity, universal respect for all people of this world, then do not step into this illegitimate place, do not lower your dignity and allow your value in this world to be baselessly degraded by such restaurant owners. We must end racism.

Front door couldn't find us on the list and allowed us in. The host was able to find our reservation and we were seated right away. They also checked in our coats. The server was pleasant and efficient. The food was absolutely delicious! I had the quinoa burger and yuca fries, the sauce was was incredible. The spicy green margarita was very tasty. Wonderful experience from beginning to end and highly recommended.

We didn't eat here this time, just came for drinks and the scene. It was also welcomed to just come for drinks and weren't turned away because we weren't eating. They have reservations available online, but not for the bar. Warning: This is a very upscale, elegant/chic bar/restaurant that ranges from well dressed businessmen to ladies in haute couture. It's incredible and very Gatsby feeling- but can make you feel underdressed very easily. Do not come here dressed like a slouch or you'll feel out of place. On the other hand, use this place as an excuse to go all out with an outfit. The drinks at the bar are world class. €20 each on average but well worth it. Comfortable seating, friendly staff. Highly recommend the old fashioneds!!Definitely a spot to hit on your trip- and easy to coordinate if you have tickets to crazy horse which is around the corner.

Racist establishment beware this is not what to support in 2022. Please Google manko racism and there horrible apology.
Be the first to ReplyAvoid this restaurant.
Terrible place that perpetuates Racism. If you didn't want people of color patronizing your establishment then you should let everyone know your a racist eatery and put a sign on the door stating "NO blacks allowed" instead of embarrassing those poor women who came to enjoy themselves. Disgusting.

It is unbelievable! I am dumbfounded by the racism in this restaurant by everyone who worked there. And I said everyone because for that worker (front door guy) to have done that - it has to come from the owner and management since the workers are just sheep. HOWEVER, I don't think I am able to blame them completely. SHAME FALL ON THE PEOPLE that still go there and support racism. You are as guilty as they are! The star is just because Yelp would not let me post without it! Shame on Gaston Acurio for hiring that manager! Gaston Acurio many restaurants around the world including the one that is going to be open in East Rutherford, New Jersey (USA) the restaurant name is JaranaSearch his restaurants under Gaston Acurio (Peruvian chef)
Be the first to ReplyThe food was nasty and burnt.
They took a long time to prepare the food. Do not eat here.
Be the first to ReplyGreat environment.
The food is sooo good and the design of the place make you feel you wanna stay there for ever. there is always a lot happening and the cabaret is the piece of resistance. I ll get there again for a drink definitely if the food is too pricey.
Be the first to ReplyThis Peruvian restaurant was worth every dollar! The dishes
This Peruvian restaurant was worth every dollar! The dishes were beautifully platted and showcased true South American flavors in a very gastronomical way. We had the bao, ceviche, Alain's Fish, Boliyucas, and for dessert we had the Maracuya and Cachanga. It was my mother's birthday dinner, so they brought a special firework candle for her, and a candle to blow out. It was a very special evening. Overall, I would give the restaurant an 8.5/10, the food was great, our waitress was amazingly helpful and she spoke English. I only wished there was a little more lighting so I could visually enjoy the dish and maybe soften the music just a little. Oh, and before I forget, for the coat check, there's a charge. Bon Appetit!

Food was awesome! Waiter service very good!Hostes - not very friendly. Got to restaurant 20 minutes early and she told us to wait outside even though there were a couple of chairs at the entrance. She retracted and we waited inside. Just very unfriendly. Other that that incident everything was worthy just a bit expensive

We stumbled across this place while walking around champs elysee. We went for lunch, but it is down stairs in a basement / club type atmosphere, very trendy. The menu has English translations but lacks good detail that I'm accustom to. We got a fennel and potato salad to start. It was really unique and delicious! We then each got an entree, which was only 2 pieces of fish and 3 pieces of octopus. They were so flavorful and cooked well, just smaller than we had hoped.

The food was good, the service was good, but it wasn't what I would call exceptional. Perhaps my expectations were set too high but I wasn't wowed by anything here. Nice décor but I wanted the food to be better.

They seated us without reservation even though they were completely booked. Tried two kinds of ceviche and a slider. They were delicious. We were late for the set menu. Will go there for sure to try.
Be the first to ReplyFood is incredible and service was phenomenal.
It's very pricey but you are in Paris and it's not everyday you come across a Peruvian restaurant here at this caliber.

Spectacular food varieties and excellent service in this place with its famous owner the Canadian singer GarouThe varieties in the menu lead us to take the tasting option for €75 per person and that will almost fill you upAfter dinner the bar has its own ambiance and music which is good for after dinner drink
Be the first to ReplyI went to both dinner and the cabaret at Manko.
The restaurant is so beautiful inside, they did an excellent job with the finishes. This is a Peruvian restaurant with a heavy emphasis on fish. The quality definitely matched the price point.Food we tried: (that I can remember)Nikkei Cebiche - yummy!Octopus - extremely good but they cut the octopus into very small pieces and mix it in a sauce. So if you are not sure if you like octopus, this is an excellent way to start. If you really love octopus, you may wish there was more of it. Quinoa Salad - tasted great and balanced our meal with a fresh finish.Mini Veggie Quinoa Burger - our server suggested this and I was on the fence but it turned out to be very good. Each burger is the perfect 2 bites.Black Angus Beef Flank - by far this was my favorite. The beef was perfect and the sauce really complimented it. It is a great item to share because all of the beef is bite size.Bottle of wine - I love how nice wines in France are not very expensive. I don't know what we ordered but it was suggest by our server and paired perfectly with our food.Contrary to other reviewers, our server was extremely nice and helpful. The Cabaret:Personally I loved it. The performers are so talented and each performance was impossible to take your eyes off. The format includes frequent breaks for dancing and getting drinks in between each performance. We did not get a table because they were sold out but that's really the way to go. Since we were standing the whole time, we worked off dinner by dancing the night away. This place is full of gorgeous, well dressed and eccentric people. If you are not dressed right or you act like a "stupid American" you will not get good service. Think of the trendiest, most difficult places to get into in Los Angeles but with Parisians running it. LOL! I would definitely come back. If you decide to go, dress up and bring your best manners to have a great time.

I went to the cabaret at Manko, I was hit in the head by one of the acrobats metal rod, had to get 6 stitches to my forehead at a french hospital. The staff lied about calling an ambulance, the security guards did nothing to help, I was severely bruised black and blue swollen eyes for next 2 weeks. I sent a letter to the owner Benjamin Patou at the MOMA GROUP in Paris and he has ignored me.GO AT YOUR OWN RISK!
