Terrible experience. Service was terrible, very strange experience as the party were left waiting a very long time to order. Staff did not engage with us at all, not even smiling. Food ok but overpriced. My advice is go somewhere else.
Be the first to ReplyAuthentic Delicious Thai Food.
Excellent service, fast! Food was delicious-very authentic. I’ve lived in Thailand and the food here was very reminiscent of the food I ate there. We had the drunken noodles and pad Thai.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointed with service
Very disappointed with the level of service we received when visited the restaurant on 17/02. We ordered starters and mains , and brought our mains while we were still eating our starters. They went on to then clear our starters without even asking if we are finished. While we we’re having the mains we had three different waiters coming to ask us if we were finished & one of them tried to snatch my husband’s plate without even asking if he was finished. Very disappointed with the service and will not be returning again.

Dined as a party of c. 15 at Mango Tree and overall we had a good experience. We all ordered the set menu which provided more than enough food. Starters included spring rolls, prawn crackers, and chicken satay, and were served to share between groups of 3. This was followed by tom yum soup with prawns before mains were served. Again, these were large plates to share between 3 and included thai green curry, phad thai, stir fried beef, and sweet and sour seabass. To finish off, those who still had room were offered a coconut mousse with raspberry sauce. The set menu is incredibly generous, with most mains not finished - this is unlike most menus based on 'sharing plates' which leave you fighting over the last grain of rice to stave off the inevitable hunger from having to share between 4 what is really meant for 1. The dishes included in the menu combine classics (such as phad thai) with a few more unknown, but nevertheless delicious, dishes. The menu also has many vegetarian and vegan options, with one of us choosing the vegetarian set menu which, according to them, was delicious. Unfortunately, the service was not particularly attentive and tried to give us a round table for 10 with a rectangular table added on for the remaining party members, instead of one table for all of us. Overall, the food was great with generous, tasty portions and we had an enjoyable evening.

Dreary atmosphere, passable service, poor food. Especially given some positive reviews, a disappointing and unpleasant experience.
Be the first to ReplyABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL FOOD
Service was a little slow to start but it was worth the wait - the food was delicious. Everyone in the group thoroughly enjoyed our visit and each of our courses. The presentation of the food was first class and portion sizes were good. It is certainly a location that I will revisit
Be the first to Reply“Rusty” service with mediocre meal experience
Whilst the place has an impressive and very pleasant ambience, we were a little disappointed at being seated in the bar having arrived early, and not offered any refreshment. After quite some time we chased up a wine list from the waiter, who was most accommodating… but the fact remains we were left for ten minutes plus, and had to resolve the situation ourselves. Not a good start. When we were seated, the table service was perfectly fine - our error was going for the set menu which resulted in being served a mixture of delicious fare (the starters in particular) alongside some obviously stock “gap fillers” in the main course. The closing set dessert being incredibly bland. All in all, if you know exactly what you want, and you arrive on time rather than early - I imagine you’ll have a great visit. But if, like us, you’re arriving to enjoy a relaxing meal and to go with the flow in terms of what your meal options might entail - be prepared for a somewhat average experience.

The service, food and ambience all very good. The complimentary dessert to celebrate birthday boys special day made the time spent extra special. Thank you Mango Tree!!
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely awful
Absolutely terrible service and less than average food. Waited over 30 minutes for our drinks and more than 45 minutes for the starter to arrive. The calamari is served in 3 tiny pots with very small pieces of calamari in each. Not worth the £12 price they charge. Duck spring rolls similar to what you can buy in a super market. The mains were not much better either. I would suggest going to your local Thai restaurant and paying half the price for nicer food. I’m not sure what’s happened to this place. It used to be high end fine dining Thai cuisine. Very disappointing and will never be returning.
Be the first to ReplyMultiple Course Meal
Ordered the Luxury 5 course meal with soup. Amazing selection, the food came out fast. Our server was constantly coming back and checking in on us when we finished or needed a water too up. The lemon grass chicken was probably the best I've ever had. Servers were outright professionals. I would recommend anyone to this restaurant

yes; i was walking to the toilet. the food was nothing special. the cocktails were better than to food. and for me overpriced, black cod 3inch square and 1.5 inch thick for £22 and the wagyu was dry and lifeless. music was not Thai or even Asian so no atmosphere furniture had more to do with a works canteen than a restaurant.

Came without a reserve and loved it and we had a great time. The service was great and the restaurant very good.

Be the first to ReplyGreat hospitality, super food
If you're in central London and looking for lovely Thai food served with a warm smile thus is the place to eat. The manager was so sweet when I booked a table that I couldn't resist going there. She even introduced us to the owner and gave us a complimentary drink while we were waiting. The service is astonishingly quick in this busy restaurant and the food was really tasty. Just enough spice for us.
Be the first to ReplyLovely food, slow service
We had a lovely meal here. However we disappointed that it took an hour before the starter came out, plus we had to be ask for drinks. Then when the main came out mine was completely wrong and by the time I did get it my husband had finished his dinner. The waiter was kind though and bought us a complimentary drink.

Simply amazing
As soon as we arrived we were met with attentive staff and exemplary customer service. The cocktails were sublime. The food particularly the lamb shank and cheesecake were out of this world. Our server Joyce was brilliant abs all the other waiters and waitresses were also very attentive. 5* all the way!
Be the first to ReplyMango Tree exceptionally bad Customer Relations and experience
I booked Mango Tree well in advance of my Daughters Birthday on 31st December. We booked a table for 7:45 and the restaurant called me to confirm my reservation 3 days early and being vegetarians I confirmed that we could either choose from their A La Carte or set menu and they confirmed this was perfectly fine. However, on 30th December a day before my daughters Birthday Ms Choon called me back and said we would have to go with only their set menu at £68 per person or I could cancel my reservation. I asked her to raise this to her Manager Chai as I had made my reservation in good faith, weeks in advance, as they had confirmed that I could select from either menu. When they finally called me back in the evening of 30th Dec they said there was nothing they could do, went back on their confirmation and said they would cancel my reservation. The lady Choon then hung up on me, leaving me stuck with no reservations to celebrate my daughters Birthday on 31st December. I am appalled with the behaviour of this restaurant and would caution anyone looking to celebrate or visit them, as they cannot be trusted in keeping their confirmations or treating their customers with any respect.

Another really nice lunch
Was pleased to return to the Mango Tree when last in London. Close to Victoria station, it serves excellent Thai food.
Be the first to ReplyLovely restaurant with great food and staff.
Had a lovely meal here, the staff were very friendly. The Thai Red duck curry had an amazing flavour, as did the banana desert. Nice atmosphere inside too. We'd definitely come back.
