Intimate, cozy Thai restaurant in Hell's Kitchen.
First impressions, the space is a little cramped, but is decorated in a cheerfully kitschy style. I dined in with two friends and getting a reservation on Resy wasn't super competitive. We shared the gang keaw wan, khao pad tom yum, and pad see ew. Gang keaw wan was a very unique green curry -- unlike any flavor profile I'd had in Thai dining! The thickish curry paired well with some rice on the side. Perfect bite is if you have it with the salted egg meatball that comes with. Also really enjoyed the tom yum fried rice. It was pretty salty, but you get plenty of seafood bits in the order. Pad see ew was solid -- nothing super crazy that stood out about this dish. Sharing these three dishes family style was really affordable for 3 and then you get to try more menu items too!I got the iced thai tea, which I personally don't recommend since it was a bit watery to me.Overall, really solid thai restaurant if you want something tasty and reasonably affordable! My only note is that it's pretty loud and cramped in the restaurant, so it can be kind of hard to carry a conversation inside.

Great authentic Thai place with extensive menu! The servers were attentive, and our food came out pretty quickly. You can probably skip the lemongrass chicken wings, but the pad see ew had great depth of flavor (probably my favorite dish). We also got the crying tiger ($28) which is a popular option, but it was pretty salty and oily in my opinion...still good though! All being said, the dishes were beautifully presented and I appreciated all the food!

Feels like you're on an island. The food is absolutely amazing! So flavorful and filling!

Excellent food, great friendly service! I had the pad kee mao and almost wept at how delicious it was. Just a heads up, depending on the time of day, you may need a reservation.

I ordered a dry curry rice dish with beef and my friend got a basil rice dish with chicken. Both were very good, albeit spicier than I expected (especially mine unfortunately). The ambience was pleasant and I appreciate that the staff found a spot for us although they were busy and we didn't have a reservation. Given these redeeming qualities, I'd normally give this restaurant a minimum of 4 stars. But I won't because I'm feelin real salty. Why, you might ask? My dish came with a fried egg and I asked for the egg to be cooked through rather than runny. The waiter took the order like it was no problem. When the check came back, I saw that they had charged me $2 for "EGG COOKED LONGER". Are you serious??? I normally would not have paid given that this is a ridiculous excuse to charge more money (seriously...$2 for you to leave the egg on the heat 30 seconds longer??), I wasn't informed that it would cost extra when I made the request, and THE EGG WAS STILL NOT COOKED THROUGH!! but I didn't want to make my friend uncomfortable by being litigious over $2. Clearly Lum Lum needed the money more than I do if they're scrounging for every dollar, which is perplexing since they asked for our table after only 75 minutes of dining, so business must be booming. So wild. I'm still shook. Really unacceptable way to conduct business, especially at a classy restaurant.

I've heard so much about this place! My friend and I were able to get a reservation at 8:30pm on a Thursday. The inside has a cute tiki theme and the walls are lined with bamboo. We ordered the papaya salad, crab fried rice, squid ink fried rice, mango sticky rice, and pudding for dessert. Everything's was delicious! The papaya salad had a delicious sauce, the crab fried rice had a bigger portion than expected, and the desserts were great to finish off.

Stopped in for the lunch special (you have to look for it on the rather extensive menu) Chose chicken tikka masala for the curry option. Thought it was wonderful. The two sides of the day were delicious as well. And hot pillow-soft naan! Friendly service. Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyEvery was delicious.
Our favorite was the deep fried fish in curry sauce. It hit all the notes, savory, sweet, spicy, a bit of tang paired with the crispy fish skin. It is one of my favorite Thai dishes. The serving size is perfect as well; you can share it between two people or just order it by yourself. Service was good, nothing superb but they made sure you water was full at all times which is what I cared about anyways. Ambience is nice but not a good date spot in that it gets too loud so you can't really talk. It would be a great place to host birthday dinners tho. 10/10 would come back
Be the first to ReplyAll I have to say is, crying tiger special.
Get it and just trust me. Food came out SUPER fast, my friend and I were like "when did you guys even make this lol". Maybe 10 minutes after we ordered they came out. Also the vibes were so cute - very beach/tiki theme which I wasn't expecting, and they were playing J Boog and Spawnbreezie which made me feel like I was on a tropical vacation (and not burning my eyes on a computer screen from 9-5). I was happy dancing the whole time I was eating, it was that yummy :)FYI - if you/your friend are not used to the smell of fish sauce, please be prepared when you walk in. Personally I love fish sauce so it's not a problem for me, but is something I noticed.

First of all the food is outstanding. Fresh ingredients prepared in creative ways make the food worth a visit. The service and ambiance complete the deal. If you're in midtown and craving Thai food give Lum Lum a try.
Be the first to ReplyWe loved the authentic experience and ambiance of LumLum.
The food had a ton of flavor and tons of seafood. The cocktails were very good. Hope to visit Hell's Kitchen again soon.

This place is amazing!! I've been to Bangkok Many times and this place hands down Is the most authentic Thai food I've outside of Thailand. As for Bank when you come he'll take great care of you.

Great new thai spot that just opened! I consider myself an avid thai enjoyer and this spot did not disappoint. Their main feature is the pad krapow (not sure if I am typing that right). Highly recommend it. It has the right amount of spice without hurting the next day. I also ordered the chicken pad thai, and it was delicious as well! Note: since it was hyped up on TikTok... wait times maybe longer for pickup and tables. Food: 5/5!
Be the first to ReplyDecorations and the menus look interesting.
They have a lot of common Thai dishes and there's a lot of unique dishes as well. The best for me is Goong Yang!! And definitely!! Do not miss the dessert especially BuaLoy!
Be the first to ReplyProper Thai food with an innovative flair.
Very sweet and accommodating staff and very well known knowledge of ingredients. I've dined in and done takeout and this is a solid stop. The desserts are to die for. No joke!
Be the first to ReplyTried the chicken pad Thai for take out and didn't love it.
The flavors in general were different than I expected and I probably would not order it again. There's so many great reviews for this place, so I'm disappointed I couldn't enjoy it more.I did appreciate that you can choose different spice levels for the dishes.
Be the first to ReplySUPER GOOD.
everything was very flavorful especially the steamed fish. the padthai, pad see ew, and steak were so tasty. Would definitely come again!!

Great thai spot! Interior has great vibes and wonderful drinks. I got the phuket night - perfect combo of sweet and spicy. I got the kra pao with tofu, my bf got the kee mao with tofu, and my other friend got the chicken stew that everyone is raving about. All were delicious and reasonably priced. Excited to come back!
Be the first to ReplyCame here after a Broadway play.
There wasn't a lot of selection i.e. no curries, but the atmosphere was pretty and the wait staff wore Aloha shirts. And the cocktails looked nice.

I had a flight cancelation and ended up booking a cheaper hotel in hell's kitchen and was kind of having a rough day. For some reason I was craving Thai food and I decided to just walk around hell's kitchen and I came across this on Yelp as it was highly rated. I was a little tired so I decided to order to go in lieu of waiting for a table. I ordered the fried pork appetizer and pad see ew for dinner. Oh my God both were super delicious so I could see why on a Monday night this place was full of people. Even though I was doing a to go order the wait staff were very friendly and nice. Definitely some of the best Thai food that I've had so this is a great place to stop in while you're in hell's kitchen.

Update: got to dine in the restaurant for the first time, and the space is awesome. Staff was super friendly and you could tell they were super busy so they didn't have to be.Beau and I got the classic goi neur again maybe we will get it every time but it's my current favourite form of raw steak. And it's spicy. We got the crying tiger steak dish again and honestly I saw this dish dropped on every table as a part of the diners orders. It's a fan favourite and the garlic rice underneath goes with everything else you order. We also got the curry with crab, comes as a platter so you can curate your own meal, it was awesome. I would get this again but I want to try everything else on the menu.
Be the first to ReplyAnother solid Thai spot in the Hell's Kitchen area.
Loved my beef pad see ew, but wasn't crazy about the chicken wings, super small, very few, and the sauce didn't wow.

I was here with a group of 8 and ordered a bunch of dishes to share family style. We go to Fish Cheeks a lot, and I will say that this is definitely comparable, some dishes are even better. A a few notes: it is BYOB and it does get really warm in the restaurant if you're coming on a hot day like we did. They had a couple fans but no AC. I don't remember everything we ordered but from the ones I do: - Papaya Salad - Moo Krob (Pork belly)- Gai Tod Takrai (Chicken wings)- Muk Ka Dong Yang (Cuttlefish)- Grilled prawn- Crying Tiger - Steamed Fish with lime and herbs - Mango sticky rice - Bua Loy Everything we ordered was delicious and cooked well. The fish was a favorite among the table, we actually liked this one more than Fish Cheek's. The prawn were large and grilled well. I also really enjoyed the dessert, specifically the Bua Loy. Definitely recommend checking out

I was excited to try out this new Thai pl in Hell's Kitchen because of the amazing reviews. But I was fairly disappointed because the food wasn't good.Crying tiger special -- the steak was tough and impossible to chew. I wanted to spit it out but felt uncomfortable to do it in front of my friends. I wasn't expecting amazing steak but that was pretty disappointing.Waiter is a bit rude, I ordered two entrees in the beginning and he kept pushing for appetizers, even after I said no, he said just two? Are you sure? I felt a little pressured at the moment. Ambience is cute tho, food is cute for photos.

This place needs to figure out timing from the kitchen and the servers need to coordinate the wait times better. When we got here the place was packed and there was one party of 2 waiting before us. The server notified us 15minute wait time, and we were waiting patiently. However we weren't seated until around 45minutes later, and 2 parties that came after us got seated first (because one had a reservation an hour ago and another party was a bigger party)- the reservation was understandable but not sure why the bigger party got seated before us. They took our orders while we were waiting so the food would come out fast but i think they just forgot about our table because we had to check on our food and then it came out 20mins later. The crying tiger was good but the meat was just so dry and not juicy. The rice with the garlic chips was good though. The pad see ew noodles were chewy but a little too salty for my liking. The yom som / grapefruit salad did not harmonize with their seasoning as it was spicy yet bitter. Also the food seemed a little bit overpriced for what it is. Maybe i'll try again in half a year when their service gets better.
