A great discovery
Perfect stay. We stayed for a week in the establishment. Very nice room. Magnificent swimming pool. A quiet hotel with parking. A pretty view. The chef's extraordinary tapas in the evening. Thanks again for the welcome. Jerome, Sabrina and the Little Terrors.

We arrive in this charming village of Aragon, not far from Carcassonne. Warm welcome in this hotel restaurant that my niece recommended to us. Old sheepfold completely refurbished. Pretty rooms with small private terrace. Air conditioner. Comfort. Very pleasant swimming pool in this heatwave. Restaurant in a carefully decorated room. Refined meal. Discovery of pork “presa”, a choice piece. Excellent Corbières region wine 100% Syrah. Address to remember.

3 / 3 Nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Aragon, France (15 minutes by car from Carcassonne), La Bergerie Hotel is a hidden gem that offers a truly enchanting boutique hotel and restaurant experience. The hotel's location is nothing short of idyllic, with breathtaking views of the rolling hills and the Pyrenees in the distance. Our room, overlooking the sprawling gardens and the infinity pool, was a delightful haven. It was tastefully decorated and furnished with all the modern comforts one could wish for. The hotel's restaurant was a culinary delight. The menu, centered around locally sourced ingredients, offered an array of French and Mediterranean dishes. We were especially impressed by the chef Julien's innovative take on traditional recipes. The wine list and the suggestions of was extensive and featured a fantastic selection of regional wines. We were especially delighted with the suggestions made by Kristele who is one of the owners. She certainly chose well for us. The service was impeccable, the staff, from the reception to the restaurant, were attentive, knowledgeable, and always ready to make our stay memorable. In the evenings, we enjoyed strolling through the hotel's well-maintained gardens and savoring a glass of wine by the outdoor fireplace, while gazing at the starry skies. Our stay at La Bergerie Hotel was such a delightful experience that we hope to return in the not too distant future. Thank you Julien & Kristele!!

Well, where to begin? The last night of our two week stay, on the outskirts of Aragon, was supposed to be the ‘piece de resistance.’ Upon arrival we were told there was only the set menu to choose from. Being reasonable and easygoing folk, we went with the flow. Firstly, the amuse bouche (liquidised water melon), was highly un-amusing. The shrimp crumble, slightly more amusing. The cod and cabbage, thoroughly offensive. The cheese ‘platter’ ventured into hilarity. At this point we realised the only other six guests were sawing their way through meat dishes with what appeared to be grimaces on their faces, I politely enquired why there were options available on other tables and was told this was because they were staying at the hotel. Bearing in mind we made up 50% of the clientele (ie there were 12 of us in total), I found this somewhat perplexing. A thoroughly mediocre evening. Over priced and a place that flatters to deceive. Extra star purely down to location and decor. Totally lacking in atmosphere and charm. Avoid.
