Congrats Leroy and Lewis on new brick and mortar!
Congrats to L&L on pre-launch of gorgeous new brick and mortar! Expands on the offerings of the beloved trailer at Cosmic, and makes beverages readily available. Evan, Sawyer and expanding crew always friendly and open to questions. Went solo and asked to join table. Great food…good brew options…good conversation…and a patio tv for us sports fans. Best of luck…and thanks!
Be the first to ReplyBest BBQ I had in Austin
I thought this place was much better than the famous spots. Refined but still delicious bbq. I got the ribeye which was near perfect. Tasted like a perfect prime rib. They give you both a traditional bbq and a mustard base sauce cup on the side. Both delicious. Kale cesaer was a great alternative to normal slaw. Frito pie a unique side option. Located inside of cosmic’s food park. Plus you don’t have to wait the ridiculous lines at the famous spots

Hands down - best BBQ in Austin. I go there pretty frequently. During the week, its some tourists, some regulars, just looking for quality BBQ. Expect little to no wait! Over the weekend, there's specials, brisket, bacon ribs, and a good wait if you aren't there 30-45 minutes before they open. Beef Cheek > Brisket

Wow. The line to order was worth the wait. The meat was out of this world. The sides were delicious and the cheesecake is not to be missed! It easy to see why this is a top ten bbq joint in Austin!
Be the first to ReplyYummy, pricy, not fancy
I loved the meat! What I had? No idea!! i just asked them to decide for me. I’ve got two different meats, one cabbage and sausage side order, pickles, jalapeños, and two sauces. Everything is delicious…. although I feel it’s very pricy for what I’ve got!! 27 usd and no beverages…. Thought I would have a lot to take back home. Well, I didn’t. Its in an open place where they share space with other food trailers.

Solid BBQ, seems like good people, but an absolutely horrible process. Came in from Atlanta for the 4th of July weekend. Arrived at 12:30 and was told it would take between 45 minutes to an hour. 3 hours later, they were out of 9 items and still had 4 parties in front of us. Guys here is a suggestion, go outside the truck and take orders of people in line. Then have the order ready when the person comes up. I promise you will double your profit and not piss off and then run off your potential customers.

Excellent food! Loved the burger - it was huge! Enjoyed the pork belly also. Great sauces. Sides were a bit weird - don’t recommend the slaw or cabbage. Cute food truck area. Misters to help with the TX heat.
Be the first to ReplyToo much Frito Pie
We visited at 6:15 PM on a Sunday and they were pretty much sold out of ever thing but chicken, barbacoa, and Frito pie. My wife and her friends had chicken and her friends added barbacoa. They enjoyed their food and would visit again. I had the Frito pie and it was at best, okay. I would visit again but not for the Frito pie.

Did this dinky food truck desrve a five. Perhaps but while it was very good it wasn't perfect. I went on a Saturday to get the bacon rib and the brisket. They sold out of the bacon rib before I could order it, I was about number 30 in line. The brisket was a ten, best I ever tasted. The sausage was the biggest surprise it too was a ten and I just don't throw around tens, they were absolutely fabulous in taste, tenderness and texture. The burger was very good not great the beef cheeks were tasty but a little too fatty for me in texture, my daughter loved them. It was overall a wonderful experience worth the hour and a half wait in the very slow moving line.
Be the first to ReplySimply the Best All Around Barbecue In Austin
Of all the barbecue spots in (and near) Austin that I tried LeRoy and Lewis was the best all-around spot. While Franklin Barbecue had better brisket, L & L has superior ribs (the bacon ribs were super yummy), delicious sausage and awesome beef cheeks. The sides and desserts were a welcome and tasty addition. L & L provides excellent value for money with their 2 meats and 2 sides special. Sadly it was raining when we visited, but no worries, it was collocated on the grounds of Cosmic Coffee and beer which has indoor seating and a great selection of beers, specialty drinks and coffee creations to go along with your barbecue. Thanks LeRoy and Lewis for an awesome lunch!!!

Overall the food was superb. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, especially since they were very aware of gluten allergy and cross contamination! The young gentleman slicing changed his knife, cutting board, and gloves immediately upon knowing there was a gluten allergy. The brisket and smoked beef cheeks were amazing. All the sides were great also! And wait time in line was very short. Can’t wait to go back!
Be the first to ReplyLives up to the ranking -short wait
Great BBQ lives up to the Texas Monthly ranking. Beef Cheeks-must have, Fatty Brisket-must have and Wild Boar with Jalapeños - must have (specials on some Saturdays). Sides were good also. Line was not long at about 11:30am. We have been to the Cosmic area many times, mostly in the evenings. This time it was to hit up on L&L.Bbq

Well, by the time I got there Saturday night they didn’t have any vegetarian options, but I can tell you that the cheddar cheesecake was delicious and I got to try the beet bbq sauce and the mustard sauce - both delicious. I was with meat eaters and they all enjoyed their food. The atmosphere was great, lots of wonderful dogs.

It’s like they’re doing you a favor by serving you overpriced BBQ and expecting a tip. GTFOH. You’re in the service industry, if you can’t offer a service with a welcoming smile don’t bother expecting a tip.

I had seen an eater video about Leroy and Lewis and drove down. The cauliflower burn ends were smoky yet still had a crunch. Really cool. The briskets was up there with the greats and the bbq sauce was perfect accompaniment. The sausage was also quite good. The kale salad was okay.
Be the first to ReplyThe most overrated place I have been to lately
Well, covid-19 rules meant that Franklin's had a minimum order of 3 pounds. Which is like 90$ plus tax. And I cannot eat so much! So ... the locals convinced me to go to L & L. It was awful! They got my order wrong. Even so, only the beef cheeks and kimchi were edible. The burnt-tip cauliflower and the mac-n-cheese were inedible and borderline, respectively. I was blown away by how such a highly-recommended place could be so awful. I mean the cauliflower was AWFUL!
Be the first to ReplyHidden Gem
Hidden gem for sure! Food Truck style. We tried the Wagyu Brisket, Baracado, 2 different sausages! If in Austin check it out!
Be the first to ReplyVery Good Barbecue
LeRoy & Lewis bills itself as new barbecue. By that they mean it features different cuts of meat prepared in a traditional smoker. We tried their beef cheeks (the first time I ever ordered beef cheeks anywhere) and sausages. Both were excellent. The beef cheeks were moist, tender and packed with flavor. The sausages were delicious. L&L is located in a large lot that is home to other food trailers. They share a tree-shaded outdoor seating area. Parking can be a problem on weekends. The staff was wonderfully friendly, freely sharing their thoughts on their offerings. We even got a tour of their smoke shed.
