3 chef course tasting was excellent but the service is what really took the spotlight of the evening. Our server was extremely helpful with the wine tastings and patient with us while we deciding on the wine. The food was good and portions were appropriate. Dinner for the chef tasting and two glasses of wine came in just at $200 for two of us with tax and tip.
Trying too hard to be something…
The ingredient list on the “shared” plates was so overly complicated that the flavors hit wrong on the palate. Whoever cooked the steak had to have worked in a steakhouse, it was perfectly cooked, perfectly sauced and came out hot. The “best selling” bread with pimento cheese was deconstructed with pimento in one pile and cheese in another. Guys really? We ordered the crudo which was sauced well but the fish was bland. The noodle dish which was so embarrassingly small, luke warm and brown. This your best offering for a vegetarian dish at $14? We sent it back. We eat all over the world, the constant changing of the cutlery and dishes seemed like a cup game to dazzle.

The tasting menu was yummy, my favorite was either the caesar salad or the tortellini :)
Must go!
Tori was amazing: she was one of the best server we have ever had. The dinner was sublime - you must order the Brussels Sprouts. Also black drum curry was delish.
The setting has potential to be an awesome date spot.
The food was very mediocre all around. We had the crab fingers (very dry, flavorless without the chili oil), shrimp tostadas (cold shrimp made tostada limp), pork mole was ok, drum fish was the best thing we had. The service was also just ok. It felt like everyone there was on a first or second date from a dating website.

Took advantage of their half off 5 course tasting menu, which made the venue accessible. Wish we could have made it for their happy hour, but the anniversary special was popular and it was hard to get a reservation. Excellent lighting on the cool, oak-tree lined wine bar. Loved the lighting. The flower arrangement of dried out flowers was a little sad, and the pop techno music wasn't our favorite, but it seems like all the restaurants go for this upbeat dance music. Yuck. BUT THE FOOD! And our waitress! And the bartender, Clinton! Those things were just wonderful. It feels like a home-spun family-run place, and I love that. Thank you for the special event, Todd and Jess!

We'd been wanting to try Lenoir for quite some time and decided to take advantage of the half off chef's tasting menu during their anniversary week. Boy am I glad we did! To start, the ambiance out in the wine garden is unmatched. It's extremely charming. The food was unlike anything we've ever had not just in Austin, but perhaps ever. The flavor combinations were so unique and memorable. We loved everything we had from the Pullman bread, to the crab fingers, cauliflower, gnocchi, pork and chocolate mousse. The service was excellent and our courses were paced out perfectly. All in all this was a 10/10 experience and we will be back to try more! This is one of the few restaurants left in Austin where the food is actually worth the price.
WHAT A TREAT! Lenoir Restaurant truly delivered a memorable
WHAT A TREAT! Lenoir Restaurant truly delivered a memorable dining experience that exceeded our expectations. Revisiting after a few years, we were delighted to celebrate their 12-year anniversary with a special offer - half-priced 5-course chef's choice at $40. The added bonus of arriving during happy hour made our evening even more enjoyable, with half-priced bottles of wine under $100. GREAT SERVICE! Our server, Emma, played a pivotal role in enhancing our experience. Her wine recommendations were spot-on, and we appreciated her attentive and friendly service throughout the evening. EATS! Seated with a group of six - a mix of vegetarians and omnivores - the menu catered to all tastes. Four out of the five dishes were versatile and received unanimous praise from the entire group. While the chargrilled cabbage for the vegetarians wasn't a huge hit, the pork shoulder with purple carrot mole for the meat eaters was a standout, showcasing the chef's creativity and skill. Despite the multi-course format, we were pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes, which were filling without being overwhelming. Each course left us satiated and eager for the next. PARKING! The restaurant's location made it convenient, with a small parking lot and available street parking along Mary Street. We particularly enjoyed dining in the magical wine garden, where we could bring our pup along. The ambiance was cozy and comfortable, thanks to heat lamps and fire-pits, making it a perfect setting for a delightful evening. In summary, Lenoir Restaurant's 12-year anniversary special, combined with impeccable service, delectable dishes, and a charming ambiance, made for a truly delightful dinner. We left with a renewed appreciation for this gem of a restaurant and look forward to returning for more memorable experiences.
We visited Lenoir on an anniversary trip to Austin.
The place is comfortable and just a little quirky. We loved every dish, especially the shrimp toast. The cheesecake was lifechanging. It was served warm, and it was unexpectedly savory - made with talleggio rather than boxed cream cheese. Absolutely amazing. The bartender helped us out with wine pairings and nailed it. 100% would recommend.
The ambiance can't be beat.
We sat in their enclosed and heated garden behind the restaurant and get like we were in a fairy garden. The food was delicious and unique. We opted for a bunch of their appetizers bc we wanted to keep it light but their tasting menu look intriguing as well. Our winter was kind and on point with his recommendations. He checked on us multiple times without hovering. It was a great dinner and we will definitely be back.
Friendly staff, cute restaurant with indoor and outdoor
Friendly staff, cute restaurant with indoor and outdoor seatings, but the food was okay. We sat in the back patio for a party of five. We ordered the five course tasting menu, but it was nothing special and most items were already on the a la carte menu. Some dishes had more flavor while other dishes were lacking flavor. Overall, we enjoyed the experience because the staff were great, but everything was on the pricey side.

Lenoir has been on my list of "must visit" restaurants for several years, but I didn't make it happen until recently. It was less expensive than expected, especially if you're lucky enough to visit on a Wednesday for their half-off bottles of sparkling wine and champagne promotion. Our server was funny and extremely nice, and was passionate about every detail of our meal, including the local origin of each ingredient. We started off with Lenoir's signature blue corn and pecan hushpuppies with sweet corn queso fresco. I love hushpuppies but am often met with disappointing dry blobs of cornmeal. This was not the case at Lenoir. Lenoir's hushpuppies are everything I look for -- crispy on the outside, soft and buttery on the inside, and perfectly cooked. We next ordered the blistered gai lan with chili crisp, fresh valley citrus, and hakurei turnip. It was like broccolini with a flavor explosion in your mouth. The spaghetti alla chitarra was equally delicious, with homemade noodles, garlic caramel, fried shallots, and Fresno. Don't skip dessert - we ordered a candied hibiscus torte with chocolate mousse that was perfectly fruity without being too sweet. Overall, Lenoir was an experience that was even better than I expected. I love their incorporation of local produce and the small, cozy vibe of their restaurant. I don't recommend visiting starving, to avoid making a larger dent in your wallet, but I found every course we ordered to be priced and portioned well, and cheaper in comparison to the similar quality Odd Duck and 1417. I look forward to my next visit.

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
