It's hidden inside the mall and it has some nice window seats. The service was quick and nice. We loved the clam chowder and lobster rolls. The drink was tasty as well.

The high prices are justified by impeccable service and exquisite cuisine. From the moment you enter, you're greeted with elegance and sophistication. The attentive staff, including our exceptional server, guides you through a menu filled with culinary delights. I had the lobster roll and clam chowder. While pricey, the experience is undeniably worth every penny. You'll enjoy your dinning experience here.
Be the first to ReplyThe last time I visited Legal Seafood was back when I was
The last time I visited Legal Seafood was back when I was graduate school across the river many years ago, and back then, I could have sworn Legal Seafood restaurants were much more upscale vs the casual dining eatery it is now. Anyway, we decided to try out Legal Seafood at this location as it was near our hotel and easily accessible via the shopping mall walkways connected to our hotel....plus, it was pouring rain and didn't want to go walking outside. This place is very spacious, clean, and has a pleasant casual interior ambiance. We noticed there was tables by the window with some nice views, so we asked the hostess for one of those tables. We were told there would be a 15 minute wait, which we didn't mind....although less than half the restaurant was filled at this late lunch hour. Our server seemed nice, but not outwardly friendly like we're used to in California....not a problem as long as the food is good. The menu is quite long with lots of delicious looking seafood favorited to choose from. But, we managed to narrow our choice down to a couple of lunch specials, and added an order of Fish and Chips for fun. For the lunch specials, we ordered one Crab and one Lobster Roll, with a side of fries on one, coleslaw on the other, and a bowl of the NE Clam Chowder and Lobster Bisque. So, to start out with the good....the fish and chips was very good....loved the simple coated fried fish which had a very nice light thin crunch to it, and the fish (was told it was haddock) tasted really fresh, fresh and hot out of the fryer, not oily at all, and very delicious. The NE clam chowder was also really yummy.....hot, thick, creamy, and full of ingredients.....not too salty tasting at all. The lobster bisque, on the other hand, was pretty salty and just didn't taste right, so we asked to have it replaced with another NE clam chowder, which our server was more than happy to take care of for us. The crab and lobster rolls were not bad, but the portion of each was really skimpy.....there was more bread roll than crab/lobster meat.....not worth the high price at all. I guess our lunch experience was ok.....defintiely not the same Legal Seafood I remember from many years ago. I'm sure the seafood in Boston is better than this.
Be the first to ReplyService was good.
Salmon was tasty, however the couscous side was awful and didn't even look appealing. Haddock was ok, but once again the side of rice was not flavorful and the broccoli was bland. It was undercooked and seemed like it was just cooked in oil. The calamari was outstanding! For $100 meal for two, I would not go here again.

This visit to Boston I went to this restaurant three times! Lol Alyson and Eli took care of me on 2 occasions and they were kind and attentive. I truly appreciate that. Of course I had clam chowder since the weather has been a bit chilly. I enjoyed the pei mussels and black magic oysters!! The scallops on top of whipped sweet potatoes were delicious too!! Great experience!

We were so excited to eat here because of the strong and steady reputation. So disappointed in the food. Linguine with clams was overcooked, but lobster Mac n cheese was outstanding. Lobster bisque was watery and underwhelming. So a mediocre experience overall given the price....
Be the first to ReplyClam chowder was good.
Lobster Roll nothing special. But, I AM NOT COMING BACK. Service was terrible. Server was rude and given her attitude I should have left without ordering. I asked to see the pressed sushi menu. Server responded that, "it's just pressed sushi." So, I asked what it was and she said, "it's just pressed sushi, not that good, nobody orders it." Other tables around me were sending dishes back before they even arrived because of how long it took, too. Also table next to us tried splitting check in 5 and were told they couldn't.

Good place to bring out of town guests because it's based within the mall. Food was good; the lobster Mac and cheese was such a sight! Yummy and fun looking on the table. Service was okay.
Be the first to Replyyeah unfortunately this place has declined.
they were short staffed with tons of tables but wanted me to wait... and wouldn't seat me in a nice bright area. i was in a dark table...
Be the first to ReplyJust plain bad.
It was like eating at the 99 chain, just more expensive. Legal is nowhere as good as it used to be. BTW - the restaurant was like 90% empty.
Be the first to ReplyLegal Seafoods Copley provided a delightful seafood
Legal Seafoods Copley provided a delightful seafood experience with a menu that showcased freshness and flavor. The clam chowder was a standout, setting the tone for the meal with its rich and creamy goodness. From the crispy fish sandwich to the oysters, calamari, and fish tacos, each dish was a testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality. While the service was good, albeit a bit slow, the staff's knowledge and friendliness added to the overall positive experience. The only drawback was the slightly outdated interior, but the delicious seafood offerings more than made up for it. If you're in the mood for a seafood feast and can overlook the aesthetics, Legal Seafoods Copley is a solid choice for a satisfying dining experience.
Be the first to Replythis place rocks.

I hosted a client dinner for 60 that turned into 75 a few months ago, and they handled it perfectly. Great food, terrific service, and a really nice room all added up to a fabulous evening that my clients are still raving about. If they can handle my crowd I'm sure they will do right by you and your fate or your family (or even both!) Either way, I was pleased.

Had the most amazing lunch at Legal Sea Foods! The chowder was delicious!! The tuna burger and mussels were also amazing! The service was great. If you get the chance ask for Haley she's the best waitress ever, but every staff member was great! The view out the window was stunning. Wonderful experience!!
Be the first to ReplyWe had a poor experiance.
Ordered a dozen oysters that never came out. The cole slaw that came with my order was bad. The waitress then told us that she always tells people not to get the coleslaw, but didn't tell me as it was just a side with the dish, and she offered to get a different side if I had asked for one. The bathroom was also very shoddy. For such expensive food, you'd expect that they would keep the environment up to date.

Surprisingly locally sourced seafood! Ordered the chef special Florentine Sol stuffed with lobster and spinach, with Sichuan green beans and jasmine rice. Overall very tasty but wished the fish had more seasoning and flavor. The green beans were the highlight. Finished off with a predictable dessert-Boston Cream Pie that was light and layered. Seemed like a local chain. Def more casual than a night out on the town.

While the food is pretty standard fair and decent in overall quality, there were some things lacking on the service side. We ordered a dozen oysters which were not ready by the time our main dishes were served and we did not get them. Also, on the main dishes the side dishes got mixed up and were incorrect for the plates they were ordered with. We were in a corner with a large family group, the noise inhibited some of the ambiance and ability to maintain conversation.
Be the first to ReplyThe rainbow trout was excellent as was the banana cream pie.
Service by our waitress Hailey was friendly and efficient. The fish entrรฉe with two sides, a hard drink, and dessert was $50 plus tip. The dรฉcor and ambience were nice too. This is a good place to try if you like seafood.
Be the first to ReplyI went at lunch and it seemed like a barren business.
There was only a handful of patrons and it was a bit musty--like they hadn't been running the air system or something and the carpet was old. I would have probably not stayed if circumstances were different; there's a blizzard outside and I'm here for a conference in an adjoining hotel. I got a half dozen oysters (no explanation of what kind or anything). They were alright. I also ordered the wedge salad--they were accommodating about my salmon allergy and substituted pork bacon. The salad was just fine, I would say. Nothing special or particularly enjoyable. I had high hopes for the food since it was recommended as a Boston institution. I heard the people next to me complaining about the wait time on their oysters too. Mine came out before theirs, which they had been waiting on and ended up coming out after the rest of their meal.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful.
Great food, excellent service and very convenient to the Boston Copley Marriott.
Be the first to ReplyReally mediocre food, high prices, terrible service.
It used to be good but not now. They were empty, noone bussed our table the whole meal, left empty soup bowls on the table the whole time. I paid $275, please bus my table. All food was pretty tasteless and not high-end. I have given legal lots of chances but I am done.
Be the first to ReplyI've had uneven experiences here.
Both times I was a single diner. First time, good service and the crab cake combo dinner was good. Second time, I got the bum's rush. I was literally out in 45 minutes. I don't really enjoy it when waiters treat me like I'm taking up a table that could be seating 2 people. Big eyeroll. Had the crab cake combo dinner again: Scallops were rubbery; Grilled shrimp was ok; crab cake was good.
Be the first to ReplyHusband had the fish and chips.
They were ok. I don't eat seafood so I had the ribs. They were awful. But what can you expect? It is a seafood restaurant. The manager was nice enough to comp the ribs. The watermelon crush cocktail was perfection.

We had seven family members there for lunch today the food was bland and some people did not have enough food. our waiter was very good but after spending over $400 on lunch nobody at the hostess stand out of three employees could say thank you for coming or have a nice day or anything there were four more employees outside the restaurant none of them could be bothered to address us or acknowledge that we had been there
