Le Pavillon New York Reviews from The Last Year
Had a private room dinner here with a group of 11 people.
The dinner was 4 courses with 3 choices for each course. Additionally, amuse and little profiteroles were served. The bonus was the appearance of Chef Boulud to see how dinner was! What a great meal and experience.
Eden exists on Vanderbilt.
Le Pavillon uses a garden as a place to pause and be elevated into a gastronomic utopia with unrivaled service and a crescendo of curated courses that create a zen symphony like no other you will experience. The creativity of the food was intricate, balanced and inexplicably superb. Frankly, the foremost private dining experience in Manhattan. Service and kitchen orchestration flowed like a stream in this secret garden with harmonious synchronization. Outside the garden path is the soaring views of the iconic Chrysler Building and Grand Central Terminal through the three story windows framing these New York City landmarks. We were fortunate enough to be in the magical hands of Latina who was the perfect ambassador for this journey. The cherry on top was getting to meet the Chef and his incredible brigade who have undoubtedly placed Le Pavillon on a path to become a legendary destination and a MUST for anyone looking to experience the extraordinary.
Super customer service with good food and decent wine.
Super customer service. Simple but tasty menu. Reasonable (but extensive) collection - that works for me though may be short for a wine enthusiast- of wine selection. We ended up doing wine pairing. Ambience was great. Overall, a very good experience- especially with customer service as the highlight.
Very nice place for dinner.
Perfect for birthday or other special occasions. Would visit again.
An Experience of a Lifetime
If you look at my history of reviews (not that I would expect this) never in my life did I think that I would be in a position to review a Michelin star restaurant. My daughter took me to lunch for Father’s Day and had figured our best experience would be to order the six course tasting menu. Each course was a work of art on a plate. Tasting dishes are small portions rich with such flavor you wanted to only take small bites to savor the dish. The pace of the meal was just right. Service was excellent in every phase. Normally I comment on the price in my reviews, but that would be ridiculous here. This was more than just a lunch, it was an experience never to forget. Thank you Skylar!
Chose Le Pavillon for anniversary dinner because of its
Chose Le Pavillon for anniversary dinner because of its airy and elegant dinning room, but the food actually surpassed my expectation. My absolute favorite was the foie gras. It was nicely seared, served with some grilled pineapples and a biscuit underneath. Foie gras was plump and succulent, pineapples were juicy and refreshing. The richness was balanced out by the acidity from pineapples. My partner and I couldn't help to take bites after bites that it's gone in no time lol. If you're into foie gras like me, you gotta pay Le Pavillon a visit. Surprisingly, their desserts were not overly sweet like many other fancy French in town. Service was detailed oriented that they ensured no stains or crumbs were present throughout. If I have to be picky about one thing, I'd suggest to make some of the dishes more vibrant cuz I also eat with my eyes hahaha.
Just like Yountville California is otherwise titled as
Just like Yountville California is otherwise titled as Kellerville due to almost all restaurants coming from Thomas Keller, New York has evolved into a place where Daniel Boulud has taken over a big part of the market in fine dining. Le Pavillon is located in the beautiful new One Vanderbilt building and is quite impressive in its interior use of plants, creating a sense of a garden, inside the building. A surreal feeling and a design that sets an example for sustainable interiors. When it comes to the meal, the experience is sadly not at a level of a Michelin starred restaurant, at all. The service was incredibly slow. Having to constantly chase down the waiter at a fine dining establishment is never something that should have to happen. Thus, whatever training or staffing issues exist here, also do not belong here. When it comes to the meal, the appetizer of smoked fish with ossetra caviar was presented nicely, but otherwise a simple dish. The caviar served is of very poor quality, the eggs are sticky, no popping and the flavor profile is weak. After inquiring what caviar brand they use, the team eventually came back and noted a brand named Black Diamond. The main course of monk fish and spatzle was absolute perfection, a delicately prepared fish, with a gorgeous presentation to match. Desserts across the table were generally fine, but far from impressive. Very basic preparations, with a lot more emphasis on presentation itself. Small things also came into the picture such as wine glasses being wiped with cloths full of lint, thus the entire wine having a ton of lint swimming in it. Despite that, enjoyed the conversation with their wine director Blake who is a pleasant gentleman and picked a great bottle for a wine tasting. The other thing to mention in the wines is that there are many bottles at a reasonable 2x up charge to retail price, which is incredibly reasonable for a city like NYC. Le Pavillon is a combination of beautiful design and several dishes that are executed to perfection. With that said, some roughness on the edges needs to be polished off.
Went here with my girlfriend for our
Went here with my girlfriend for our 'nice-but-affordable-NYC-lunch' on our short vacation here. While I rarely review Michelin-starred restaurants given the clientele is very different from the typical Yelp viewer, Le Pavillon's price point for lunch ($120 for 6 courses) is quite approachable, that I figured writing this review could be helpful. DECOR AND AMBIANCE Beautiful space, one of the most unique, with plenty of green and a ceiling several stories-high. Lots of business lunches happening. One two-top with a guy in hoodie and jeans. Beautiful view as you walk up the stairs to the main 'dining room'. FOOD We ordered the 6-course tasting: grilled avocado, snapper & caviar, spaghetti alla chitarra "puttanesca", greenwalk hatchery trout, grilled wagyu flatiron steak, and noisette chocolat. I won't go into each dish, but each were quite delicious. Never felt anything was over or under-seasoned. My favorite was the grilled avocado, an interesting take on a salad, with a second being the snapper & caviar. A few notes on the wagyu course, I thought the arrangement of the elements was fairly basic, and had, color-wise, a lot of orange, brown, dark colors. I was expecting more from the carrot terrine (Café Boulud had a wonderful beef stew terrine), rather than just stacked sliced carrots. SERVICE Other than the following service notes, I would say service was mostly good; if it's done well, nothing should stand out. 1) could use more soigné, a few things were placed in front of me back-handed. 2) more thorough check of the plating at the pass, such as messy sauces and crumbs on the edges. 3) the big one: servers not knowing the food. I inquired the beef and the gummies, each had to go back and ask. Regarding the gummies, two people separately came back and gave me two different sets of fruits. OVERALL Food was well-executed and at a Michelin-level, albeit plating could be improved. The service could use the most improvement. Good as your first step in fine dining, but for those who frequent fine dining establishments, I think Le Pavillon's main feature that would stand out favorably would be its space, which I wouldn't be surprised to see highlighted in an architecture magazine. In terms of classic/tried-and-true vs innovative/risk-taking, I would say Le Pavillon lands very much on the classic.
Dishes are not well designed.
Messy. No nuance. Straight forward boring or strange. This is the kind of chef who opens multiple restaurants trying to squeeze out the maximum number of rooftops without having to give it the attention they need to be good. Never again.
Absolutely wonderful!! One of the best Michelin star
Absolutely wonderful!! One of the best Michelin star restaurants I've been to (and I've been to a lot) the service, the food, the ambience... it was all perfect! Came here to celebrate my graduation and they really made the our time memorable by the great service! Appreciate the card and desserts. Such a true fine dining experience. Also, they have gluten free bread!
Food Great Service Atrocious
I was taken to this restaurant by a friend. The ambiance is magnificent. But from start to finish the service is probably everything that a Michelin star restaurant should not be. If I had to create a playbook of what is considered bad service, they hit every point. Reception was rather cold and cool. We got to our table and waiter was friendly but not that attentive. Every plate was put down like I was at Denny's. Explanation for each course were curt. So let's start at the beginning. We brought in our own wine so that seemed to offend the somms as none of them came over to talk about our wine, taste or even serve it. Many times during the night we had to serve ourselves, which is almost never seen at a Michelin star restaurant. We had to direct the waiter to say we would like our wine served and we would like to order. Bread was thrown on the table like we were in a ship's mess hall. The food was actually quite good and the portions were incredible large. Given the reasonable price, this is probably why they have a Michelin star in spite of its service standard. I started with the lagoustine spaghetti which was very nice. The plating was good but there were some streak to the plating which should their sloppiness and lack of care (I know this because my friend had the same dish and did not have the streaks or spot of sauce on the plate). Next I had the lamb dish. Plating was very good and food was of good quality. Finished with the cheese plate, which again was plated very well, very substantial (lots of food on the plate) and of good quality. I wouldn't say the food was exceptional but it was definitely of high quality. I cannot remember another Michelin star restaurant where I have had worse service. It was honestly non existent and atrocious even to a Bib or Michelin recommended standard. There was lot of staff around doing nothing. Not attentive at all.. never once asked us for feedback on the food. Can't recall them refilling water. Never cleaned the table even though there were wine stains and bread crumbs. I know you go to a restaurant for the food but when service is so substandard, it does affect your appreciation of the food. I would think they were given a Michelin star for their ambiance, location, the chef's reputation and the quantity of food. If they were not located in One Vanderbilt or because of Daniel Boulud name, I doubt they woudl have a star. I think I would still go back for the food but would lower my expectation for the quality of service. Really large portions for a Michelin one star restaurant so it does give value if you can ignore the service. Kinda like throwback Paris aloof service only you are in New York
I wish I hadn't waited so long to write this review because
I wish I hadn't waited so long to write this review because I cannot for the life of me remember any specifics about my experience here. The interior is so beautiful, and it's a restaurant that perfectly encapsulates why I love NYC so much. You can see the tall skyscrapers from basically anywhere in the restaurant, and I love that they made it feel like a small park/forest. Service is impeccable. I think the food was pretty good but didn't have that wow factor. Portions are pretty great, and I remember feeling extremely full at the end of it. I wish I could speak more to specific dishes, but I do remember thoroughly enjoying my experience.
Worth every star - the pictures will do all the talking.
Owesum service and location.
Went for lunch and had a very nice experience.
We had: Warm bread salad GRILLED WAGYU FLATIRON STEAK* wasabi glaze, carrot terrine, salsify, marcona almonds, beef jus SPAGHETTI ALLA CHITARRA "PUTTANESCA" shrimp, 'nduja, bottarga, basil CHOCOLATE "NOISETTE" milk chocolate crémeux, praline croustillant, hazelnut nougatine FROMAGE | ABRICOT Comté | cow, hard, Savoie, France Camembert Fermier "La Boissière-École" | cow, bloomy rind, France Bleu des Basques | sheep, blue, France All recommended.
Delicious meal
Le Pavillion is a great place. Very nice fine dining restaurant. The meal was tasty. The food and drinks were delicious.
The restaurant is decorated with incredible detail.
The service is very attentive. We had Walter that knew the entire menu and he made great recommendations. The food was amazing. But I wish the portions were just a little bit more. Daniel did it again. Congratulations
Absolute top of the line dining experience.
My wife and I have been to numerous Michelin starred restaurants and after a while you feel like you're just eating the same 17 course tasting menu over and over again. Luckily, Le Pavillon allows you to order proper portions and have a real meal and the overall experience was way more impressive than the already high expectations we had. I started with a take on chicken soup which was impressive and delicious, my main was a beef duo with incredible vegetables and sauces, and I finished with the best banana pudding I've ever had. My wife had an onion tart that was a play on French onion soup, incredible duck, and then a play on an ice cream cake. The service was impeccable and friendly without being snobby at all and the decor was beautiful, with an entire indoor garden in a high rise with tons of storefront glass. Look one way and there was nature - look the other and it's the city. Everything was impressive and wonderful and we've already talked about returning.
What a spectacular dining experience- exactly what you'd
What a spectacular dining experience- exactly what you'd expect from Daniel Boulud. It's a very expensive meal, three course prix fix. But it's a great special occasion or one time splurge meal. Food was creative and delicious and there are a lot of choices for each course - including multiple vegetarian options which I loved. Service was friendly and impeccable and I have never seen so many staff in a restaurant in my life. Beautiful setting, great service and delicious food. Oh and yummy mocktails too!
We enjoyed everything but nothing blew us away like it
We enjoyed everything but nothing blew us away like it would at Daniel. Beatiful space and we'll certainly consider returning when in the are.
World-class modern French restaurant with soaring views of the city
World-class restaurant across the street from Grand Central Station. Daniel Boulud is one of the top chefs in New York City - probably the best chef in the city; this is a more casual version of Daniel, his place on the upper East side, with a much more open atmosphere - the bar scene offers an amazing view of the Chrysler Building. The food is updated-French - and leans to the ocean in terms of choices - and is always excellent. The wine list is also top-notch, and they have an excellent set of somelliers to guide you through it. Think of it also as a bit-more-casual competitor to Le Bernardin. I've been there maybe 10 times by now, and have always had great food and a great time. It recently retained it's Michellin Star - but it should really have two.
Excellent all around experience.
Our party of 4 had a very good experience. Service was excellent from check-in to wait staff. Both the food and presentation were excellent. The $145 fixed price menu was, I believe, extremely reasonable for the 3 courses. My husband and I had the spaghetti with langostino for the first course - very good. Our friends had the oysters and octopus/seafood and they also raved about the course. I had the artic char in pastery with a beurre blanc sauce - well balanced and complex flavors. I have hearing loss and was able to understand the conversation. We will return for special occasions.
Let me preface this by saying I really hate super high-end
Let me preface this by saying I really hate super high-end restaurants like this. Not just La Pavilion, but all super high-end restaurants like this. There were five of us and the bill was over $1000 and we 3 of us had the pre fix. a drink maybe two apiece and a bottle of their least expensive, as in under $100, Wine. The Issue for me is, while the food was very good. There's just nothing that justifies that kind of price. I understand they have overhead the spaces incredible really three or four story high ceilings. They must pay around 100,000 or more month. The service was great a bit heavy on the upsell, but very good. The atmosphere was quiet and nice, and the food was good I left satiated, but there's just nothing that justifies that tab.
I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this restaurant.
Food was amazing and we did the wine pairing and loved each wine the sommelier had picked out for each dish. We ordered so much food that there was no longer any room left for my purse and my waitress went to retrieve a purse hook for the table which I thought was very thoughtful. The ambiance was sexy and perfect for a Valentine's Day date night.
Dined here for the third time last night.
The service was absolutely impeccable! The room is gorgeous! The menu, which changes regularly, had so much potential but just didn't hit the mark this time. The new dishes are reaching too far and feel over composed. The octopus bouillabaisse was delicious but my partner's spaghetti appetizer just had too many things going on which refused to let any ingredient really shine. I chose the hen for my main, but it was so salty I really couldn't eat it. I took it home not to waste it and will add it to a new dish to make it work. My partner's beef was tasty but cooked under the temperature he requested. Dessert was ok. The citron was bright and tasty but over garnished with too much candied citrus zest/peels. The coffee dessert was delicious. The staff continued to check on us and ask if there was anything else they could get us to replace things not up to standard, but we just didn't want to be wasteful and it was late. I really do love this restaurant, but last night did not meet expectations, especially for the price point.
Another hit from Daniel bolud.
Service is fantastic and food is amazing. Definitely worth the visit.
I was excited to try a Boulud restaurant.
I hadn't been to one in years. The service was quite good. The place is beautiful and elegant with very high ceilings. The food was generally good but nothing was mind blowing. The most underwhelming ones were the desserts. Food: Amuse - was ok Hiramasa - ok Spaghetti with langoustine - very good; loved the Al dente pasta Foie gras and pineapple - I love foie gras so it was delicious for me Scallops - good Lobster - very well cooked; not too chewy Beef - a little over cooked as we asked for the medium rare and it was more on the medium well side Cassis - was not great; not very flavorful Guava sorbet - ok; not very flavorful Chocolate mousse - beautiful but taste was just ok Choux - very good
Great tasting menu
Such a fantastic tasting menu. Enjoyed the spaghetti langoustine, salmon with caviar, ceviche, roasted dover sole and duck breast. The negroni and mango mezcal were great drinks. Worth a visit!
Great dining experience at Le Pavillon
We had a wonderful dining experience at Le Pavillon. The service was stellar and the food was amazing-artistically prepared and delicious! Smart casual attire so no tie is required.
Super High Expectations, Very Poor and Disappointing Experience.
My wife and I attend the Annual Black & White Truffle Dinner, Saturday December 9th. We were very excited and had extremely high expectations. We just returned from our vacation in France and Daniel Boulud is one of our favorite chefs. Our reservation was for 5pm. We told our wait staff at the very beginning we had a theater reservation and had to leave at 7:30. They said “no problem”. The dinner courses arrived to our table and we watched other tables around us receive shaved truffles as part of their individual courses. Our waitstaff never offered or communicated to my wife and I about the shaved truffles. When we inquired we were told “the shaved truffles will be on your dessert”? We couldn’t have dessert or our last wine pairing, we ran out of time. It seems petty, but we didn’t receive the same experience the other guests received. I’m sorry, my wife and I have dined at some of the finest restaurants in the world, when you are spending $700+ per person, your dining experience should be perfect! We also missed our dessert course because we had to leave for our theater reservation. We expressed our disappointment with the GM, he offered to “take care of us” the next time we are in NYC. My wife told him “we came for the truffle dinner and our experience was unacceptable”. The GM removed one of our dinners, $495 from the check. The entire experience was extremely poor and disappointing while having such a high expectation.
A perfect Christmas feast.
Virtually a perfect evening! We were there for a prepaid, prix fix sampling menu and the ten (? We lost count) courses with wines were just unequaled in our experience. The decor, too -- livened up for Christmas -- contributed to our pleasure. Every course was delicious, and every wine perfectly complemented the food. In spite of the plethora of delights, the portions were small enough so that, until the last one (a delicious duck breast, when I ran out of gas), we could enjoy it all. What more an I say? Well. the bill was high, in keeping with everything else. If you go, just don't ask, and enjoy.
Upscale restaurant with French cuisine
Le Pavillon is located on 1 Vanderbilt right next to Grand Central Station. It‘s on the 2nd floor of a very modern building, which translates into the upscale design of the restaurant. Owned by celebrity chef Daniel Boulud, the a la carte menu is classic French. You choose one starter, one main, and one dessert from a selection of meat, fish, and vegetarian options. Dress code is smart casual, most men wore shirts but no ties. We had expected it to be posher, and were pleasantly surprised that the style was less stiff than most traditional French restaurants. Upon arrival, we chose a cocktail to start with. However, while we were asked when to start with the food so that we could finish our cocktail first, the first (sparkling) wine from the wine pairing was served shortly after the cocktail - it was supposed to go with the amuse bouche, which I was unaware of, I thought that it would go with the starter. Hence I finished my cocktail and left the champagne untouched while enjoying the kitchen greeting. Bad idea, because then the 2nd wine arrived which was supposed to go with the starter. I ended up having three drinks on the table, which should not happen in an upscale restaurant. Food was of high quality and courses well composed. For our personal taste, flavors and textures could have been more innovative - everything tasted well, but too much on the classy side for us. While an enjoyable evening, we would probably not visit again as we found other restaurants offer more value for money. Not sure if one Michelin star is justified either, especially as service had several faux-pas and was not always well aligned.
Best Tasting Menu!!!
I LOVED dining experience at Le Pavillon! It's one of Daniel Boulud's latest restaurants at One Vanderbilt. Super elegant and delicious meals prepared with the most fresh and high quality ingredients, LOVED each course! Service was impeccable! Beautiful interior, very smartly designed open concept provides an excellent view of surrounding manhattan skyscrapers with window walls. Very much looking forward to the next visit!

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!
Worked flawlessly!
Worked so well! I was a bit nervous, but everything went very smoothly. purchased the reservation, and got into the restaurant seamlessly.
Love this app!
So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res
instead of waiting weeks I got my 4 charles reservation instantly
Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??
Tune into NBC News - Top Story Tonight 7:40p ET
Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
