Amazing at all planes!
We had truly amazing experience while dining at this Restaurant. All factors contributing to overall picture were at the very high end - ambiance, decor, personnel, service, food and wine - all divine! What needs to be mentioned is the amazing personality of Retsaurant Manager, Ludovic, who is surely perfectly tailored for the venue. Nothing was too much, he was extremely helpful and accommodating, making us feel extremely comfortable; he made a real difference. Bravo! We will certainly be back! Ps. 'Wine list is not only comprehensive but also very interesting and diverse, able to please any relevant requirements'.

For the level this restaurant seems to be aiming at, I think it is overall unreliably variable. Decor is fine - they have softened it so that it is not quite as loud as in the Tripadvisor photo. Food though is variable. The beef fillet was beautifully cooked and juicy with pink centre and the raw, spiced sea bream we had as starters were tasty. However the same cannot be said of the cod with 'black' pepper sauce and the John Dory. Both were overcooked and dry and cardboard-y. Such a shame as these could be delicious when handled well. The kitchen staff cannot be excused for being under pressure because there were only 2 occupied tables the whole night we were there - ours and one other. I suppose this is either indicative that evenings early in the week are always as deadly quiet, OR that word of the declining standards has got around! Positive points -- breads in the bread basket were delicious and they accomodated a request for a slight change in the sauces for one dish. The lady who oversaw our table was very pleasant but we weren't sure her english was fluent enough to fully understand at times what we wanted. With a bill of just over £700 for 4 inclusive of a very modest bottle of wine at £90, I think I expected at least consistently competent handling of ingredients in the kitchen. Incidentally, for information, the wine I know well and I see the markup is 200%.
Be the first to ReplyGood, but skip the Sole
Sole was a bit tough. Cavier egg was delicious but overpriced. The bread was quite good as was the pasta with mushrooms was good

Le Comptoir is an excellent restaurant, with several of the traditional Robuchon dishes (quail, mini "burgers", etc.) but also some more traditional dishes. The danger is their bread basket, which is so good that you may no lunger be hungry after eating it.
Be the first to ReplyHospitality at its finest
What could have been an unhappy dining experience turned into an example of the highest standards of hospitality. Both my wife and I ordered La Sole Meunière. She wanted hers cooked well done, so that the fish was firm and solid, and I wanted mine slightly undercooked. Both dishes were served slightly undercooked and, having tried to eat hers, my wife asked that the fish be cooked further. Subsequently presented the fish was not firm and solid as my wife wanted and after a bite or two she left the dish and the plates were removed, with my fish stripped to the bone. We then asked for, and were served, a wonderfully presented cheese selection which we both ate, and coffee and digestifs followed. When the bill was presented, and without any request or complaint on our part, none of the Sole for my wife, the cheese selection nor the coffee and digestifs had been charged. We much appreciated that display of the highest standards of hospitality and, naturally, tipped appropriately. Despite the issue we much enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant; a long room with tables and banquettes on one side and the open kitchen with a sit at counter on the opposite wall. On entry, the staff were warm and welcoming and the service was prompt. That standard of hospitality won our business and the next time that we are in London we will return.

Outrageous Prices The online menu did not show any prices... Dishes were sooooooo expensive that it made us feel as if we were being robbed. Margarita cocktail was less than average yet they charged £18. We decided not to stay and eat and left to go and eat at another venue with great food, atmosphere and Service. Be warned to ask about menu prices before eating here
Be the first to ReplyAmazing pastries !!
The original plan was to get a few drinks as the cocktails are great. But the looks of the desserts was impressive that we could not resist the temptation. Thank you Chef Moos, we are glad we tasted your delicious macaroons and tarts. Un régal pour le palais.

I had lunch here and cannot wait to go back. The food is spectacular, and the service was so sweet and attentive. The ceviche was fabulous, and the Spanish gazpacho (so different from the American Mexican/California versions) was simply one of the best things I've ever had. This is a must visit.
Be the first to ReplySolid food & services! Never disappointed!
The restaurant is conveniently located in Mayfair. The interior is stylish and comfortable. We both ordered fish for main course. When I saw the portion of the Dover sole I thought I could never finish the whole fish. But it was so perfectly cooked and tasted silkily tender. The best sole I tried outside of France. Next time I would probably ask them not to debone the fish in front of me as I want to eat the whole! The manager Romano, the wine sommelier Mattia and the team surely did a wonderful job to make sure everyone dining there having a good time! Its solid food quality and attentive service do live up to the Robuchon name.

When four tourists two of whom are teenagers walk into a top end French restaurant in London...anything can happen. All the best did. We were offered a fantastic table on the window at the front of the restaurant. The service was gracious and friendly with everyone making a visible effort to deliver a great experience. The ceviche starter, seabass main, pasta with caviar and the tenderloin were all delightful. The seabass was perfectly cooked with an extra crispy skin and moist flaky flesh. The baby broccoli that accompanied had slightly charred ends adding a delightful smoky aroma and subtle crunch to complement the crispy skin. The tenderloin was gone no sooner than it was served and the pasta was a revelation with caviar adding an unusual counterpoint to the creamy pasta. The mixed salad was super fresh with each leaf and vegetable yielding a crisp bite. The dressing was a bit tart for my palate. The burger, with flavourful top notch patty cooked medium was delicious. The bun had too many seeds atop for my liking. Yet these two minor issues in no way took away from the evening. The spicy margarita to start and the profiteroles to end, bookended a highly recommended experience. I still miss L'Atelier though and miss the revelation that each bite used to be.

I love this place, it’s very special. The serving staff are so very welcoming, helpful and attentive. The food is excellent, “le bœuf” is mouth watering, and the potato purée (mash!) is always a hit. There’s always something new and delicious on the menu when I go. It would also be great to have a couple of vegetarian main courses on offer, there was only one veggie starter when I visited with my daughter.

One of the best meals I have had in a long time. Amazing service, lovely setting and the food is simply divine. I highly recommend the ceviche starter and the cod main. Also the profiteroles are fabulous. Worth every penny.

Like a few other reviewers on here, I used to enjoy L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Soho very much and was sorry to see it close. Obviously things move on and I've finally found time to dine at the latest incarnation in Mayfair. It's a typically high-end looking space for this part of London and far less quirky than before. A good thing? not sure. The menu is tasting or à la cart, but you have no actual tasting menu to review, it's all done blind, which I actually enjoy very much. Opting for the seven course tasting menu, service kicked off with: Sea bream ceviche with a citrus dressing, White asparagus with a black truffle dressing, Cavatelli pasta in lemon sauce and Oscietra caviar, Sea bass with baby broccoli and beurre blanc sauce, Chicken breast with morels and chicken jus along with the trade mark pomme purée. Unusually, dessert was served from a trolley, which consisted of lots of little patisseriea and you can choose what ever you want. Along with a very pleasant amuse bouche of foie gras and port reduction plus some lovely breads, the whole meal is extremely plentiful and for the most part, extremely delicious; the Ceviche and Pasta dishes particularly, were awesome. My only complaints would be that the Sea bass course was quite under seasoned for my palate, although all other courses were spot on. Also, the desserts I had: a passion fruit and pineapple tart and chocolate brownie, were really not that best at all. The Sommelier who served me was extremely good also. He worked hard to provide great wine accompaniments and even adjusted one course to a Sake after listening to what I preferred. All but one worked brilliantly. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and the food mostly lived up to my fond memories of L'Atelier, but not completely. For this seven course tasting menu and accompanying wine flight, plus Champagne, water and tea, the bill came to £311 a head. I have a list of London eateries I love to revisit and L'Atelier was on it, not sure Le Comptoir will be just yet.
Be the first to ReplyA Wonderful Dining Experience!
Three of us celebrated a (delayed) birthday dinner here on April 1st, and opted for the tasting menu. Thank you to your team for making the evening special for us. The meal was EXCELLENT from start to finish, and the service was top notch. Wine selections were plentiful and reasonable, as well. After dining at 7 top restaurants that week, Le Comptoir Robuchon was my very favorite of all. The food, the service, the beautiful atmosphere (with perfect music).... just outstanding. During our tasting courses I mentioned something to our waiter about a delicious side dish, and later in the evening the chef came over to visit and explain how it was made. We will return next fall. You are my now my FAVORITE London restaurant. Bravo to your team!!!
Be the first to ReplyNeeds more serious work to get it up to speed
Let’s start with the basics.
Service is confused, serious delays with food preparation, very small portions for what you pay, and decor is bland (far too greyish in colour which is a bit miserable).
It has excellent potential to become one of London’s top 10 restaurants, but now is too far away.
I will visit again in about 3 months time hoping to see good improvement.
The manager needs a good speaking to as well. …
Superb Food!!!
This is the type of place you would expect to find in London- simply AMAZING! The food id delicious, the place is lovely decorated, and the team are fantastic! I love going to Robuchon, its a treat worth spending!
Be the first to ReplyVariable food, frenetic atmosphere, poor service
My wife and I went here because we used to enjoy L’Atelier de Joel Rubochon restaurants in London and Paris.
We were deeply disappointed.
The food was variable in quality. A reinvention of French Onion soup for starter was, in our opinion, thin and soggy. The quail dish that followed was very good. And, in the amuse bouche and creamy mash potato that accompanied the main there were pleasant memories of better times in the food world of Joel Rubochon.
The atmosphere was frenetic. Loud, techno music was playing throughout the two hours we were there, at the same insistent speed, while waiters dashed around, often to no apparent purpose.
Which leads to the service. At the beginning, it was too fast: we were served our starters while we were still enjoying our cocktails. At the end, it was too slow: we had to wait and wait after we asked for our bill and before we could pay. For us, this was the opposite of what good service should be, since it was obtrusive and not very effective.
The acid test? Would we return, as we did to L’Atelier? I guess the answer is obvious.
An evening to remember
We celebrated in style and what style! The Signature menu was faultless and wine pairing outstanding. Service, as ever, friendly, attentive, never pretentious. This is all about treating guests to a great food experience in a spectacular venue.

There was a mix up over my reservation. I requested the a la carte menu and this was confirmed by the restaurant. However, on arrival I was offered only a set menu (it was New Year's Eve). I did not want the set menu. However, my waiter was able to offer me a choice of any of the items on either the main set menu or the vegetarian set menu. I selected some of the dishes and they were individually priced. I really appreciated the lengths the restaurant went to to make up for their original mistake over the booking. The food and service were outstanding and the evening was a great success. I'd recommend a visit. Try the caviar with king crab and the foie gras. Delicious.

We had a really enjoyable lunch in a restaurant which deserved to be busier - Covid strikes again. The decor is wonderful, the waiters made some excellent recommendations both in terms of the food and wine and the food was just lovely. We were really well looked after and look forward to returning.
Be the first to ReplyA favorite French in London, just exceptional
it was a pleasure to be there, with an old friend, who just happened to be a wine connoisseur . once they restaurant staff realised they served us the best wines to taste with our delicious food. The servive was exceptional, from the moment we walked in. our lunch started at 1:30 and we were the last guests to leave at 4:30
Unforgettable lunch ever
Simply exceptional!
Simply exceptional. What an amazing restaurant. Food, service, ambiance. 100pc perfect. We were long time fans of L’Atelier in Covent Garden. This may be even another level better. Bravo!

We loved everything about Le Comptoir from the design of the venue to the delicious food. I don’t usually write reviews but felt I had to after this. The setting is one of high-ceilinged elegance, interesting marbles and textures with a fabulous bar and then the counter where couples can eat and view the chefs at work. Groups of 4 or more sit a tables overlooking the counter on sumptuous banquettes.
Every bite of the food was delicious and each course bought more surprises.
A highlight was the bread basket - the breads had to be seen and tasted to be believed. Complete heaven!
We were looked after so well on quite a busy night. The sommelier brought us a delicious Rioja and the Manager was completely charming and made sure we were looked after all night.
If you go, have the truffle Parmesan waffles and the teriyaki salmon. I’m still dreaming about both of them!
What a find!
From the moment we walked into this Art Deco heaven, and were welcomed by the lovely Manager Tom, we knew we’d hit the jackpot. What a stunning place! Awesome food, lovely staff, and great music! Le Comptoir Robuchon - we’ll be back….
