Le Club 55 Ramatuelle Reviews
Great buzzy beach restaurant we return to every year…
We visit yearly and absolutely love the buzzy vibe. The food is good you have to know what to order as some dishes very average. We always go for sardines and a fresh fish can’t go wrong.Music and vibe with lots of rose what’s not to love. We’l be back next year…
Club 55 – Worst Experience of a Lifetime
I’ve eaten and stayed all over the Côte d’Azur, and Club 55 was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. This place lives entirely on its old reputation, because the reality is shocking. Rude, unprofessional staff – The waiter actually yelled at me just for sitting in the chair they themselves assigned. They grab plates before you’re finished, take drinks away without asking, and generally treat paying guests like an inconvenience. I’ve never seen ruder service anywhere. Sunbeds & beach service – Total joke. Overcrowded, uncomfortable, and you can forget about early service. Staff doesn’t even show up on the beach until noon, so if you arrive in the morning you’re on your own. Atmosphere – Pure chaos. Jammed tables, no sense of hospitality, and a constant feeling that the staff just wants you to hurry up, leave, and free the table for the next bill. Value – A complete money grab. Everything is priced like fine dining, but nothing about the experience comes close. There are so many amazing spots along the Riviera — this one is an overhyped tourist trap living on its name. ⸻ Bottom line: Club 55 is coasting on nostalgia and Instagram photos, but the reality is crowded, rude, and joyless. Stay away — it’s not worth a single euro.
If you are French go here.
If you're not, avoid it like the plague. It is packed, menu in French only, very few bathrooms and changing rooms, main bartenders are great and work very hard, chairs are small and low slung. After hearing about this place for many years, we were stunned at how bad it was. Go elsewhere.
This is a total tourist trap with no locals and no vibe!
This is a total tourist trap with no locals and no vibe! The chicken was raw, the prawns were cold and rubbery, the tagliatelle was soggy! Absolutely awful! The owner's daughter was extremely rude and combative! All the tables around us and my friend's table agreed that the food was terrible! Won't EVER return 0 out of 5!!!
Beach club not so nice.
Basically you lay on the ground on unattractive beds. The bed attendants are rude. Overheard one telling another guest that they owed him a big tip. Service on beach very random. Restaurant was good but the beach club itself makes me not want to return to the whole beach club restaurant.

Tip: Reserve well in advance, and aim for a late lunch when the energy is relaxed and the sunlight hits just right. We had the best time!
The lunch spot
Must visit when in STP, great crowd, great atmosphere, prices are on the higher end with value sometimes in question. But the atmosphere makes it up
This is the most special place in St Tropez.
Patrice is the best-every day is s party. The food is great & fairly priced. Try the Tarte Tropezienne-best in St Tropez (esp w/framboises)
A nice classic
Always nice to go back to this iconic St. Tropez style place. The service remains impeccable and the food still at high standards. Certainly not inexpensive, but with prices commensurate to the quality and location.

I'm wondering where some of the reviewers posted below have been eating. Certainly not in the same restaurant that I've been eating in for the last few years. Club 55 on the beach in Ramatuelle is a treasure that enhances anyone's experience in the vicinity of St. Tropez. We lunched there almost every day of our two weeks' sojurn at a nearby hotel. The owner and his daughter greeted us every day most graciously, the staff is relaxed and amusing, and the food is everything one would expect in a seaside restaurant. A great experience with a fabulous crowd, and we miss it every day that we are not there. Can't wait to be back.
Highway robbery.
Food seems like it's precooked. My chicken breast was so hard I couldn't chew it. My son's hamburger they called the steak with no bun. Was well well done and Dry. My niece, tomato and goat cheese was not good. I guess if you ordered the fish people liked it. Service is not great and our check was way over what we were supposed to pay. When they noticed that we noticed they had to take a couple things off like the wine and an extra dish. Not going back for sure. Worst restaurant so far by the way, menus only come in French no English menus. And they don't like to explain like I said cold and rude.

The food here was less than ideal (and that's putting it nicely). Not only did the food taste old and reheated, the meat was cold, fruit spoiled, etc. The service was mediocre, somewhat rude staff, not helpful or wanting to do anything above the minimum. The ambience was as expected for a summer beach spot. If you hope to see the water while dining, try somewhere else.
Poor service and poor food quality and taste
Terrible service and the food is really not great at all! Fish is not fresh (we were advised by locals not to order fish) and the bread they give you old toasted bread! There is not even WiFi except on the beach and it does not work!!
Lovely
Love this restaurant we go every time we are in France. The food is incredible. Lovely staff and good service. Definitely recommend
Sad times
Refurb or close but stop taking peoples money!!! On the plage….. in 2 hours saw a waitress twice, got my order wrong and gave me a MASSIVE attitude when I confronted her. Didn’t leave a tip. Juste pour dire… je parle parfaitement le Français mademoiselle!! Could it get worse?? It sure can!!! Food is so dated, poorly presented, bland and so shockingly overpriced that this is the worst beach experience I have ever had!!! I felt like the sardines on my plate. Crammed on the plate, cold and uninspired. I used to go to the voile rouge and have fun and 55 for a bit of refined class. I’ve traveled from Cannes. Gigis and Byblos have spent the money and the places look and feel fantastic. What a dump this place has become. Resting on a bygone era and unfortunately getting away with it. The place is heaving and I’m afraid that my words will fall on deaf ears. Such a shame for such an iconic place with so much history 😢 I will NEVER walk down the sandy path again. I’m quite upset writing this but they need to know how most people feel. Au revoir 55
Worst place ever!!!!! The server was very rude and the food
Worst place ever!!!!! The server was very rude and the food terrible , very limited choice of cocktails . Don't waste your time coming here !!!
Must visit
Club %% has a very nice setting by the beach and lunch possibilities is exactly what you need with good drinks and easy food
Quelle tristesse
Quelle tristesse, Lunch for two. Long time ago we spend so much money for such bad food. I started with the botte de radis/sausage €23. Indeed nothing more but a bunch of radishes, poorly cleaned, with a few pieces of cheap suasage stuffed in between. Main course sardines, 6 pieces presented on a plate with a piece of lemmon. Not to eat. Partner started with cooked ham (good quality) presented as a few thick slices with 3 olives and 3 pickles on top (€26), followed by sole meuniere (€49), a mini piece of fish accompanied by a piece of lemmon. To complete both main dishes they served rice. Unbelievable that you dare to sell something like that. We say: “untill never”.
Great time at Club 55 - can’t beat it for atmosphere and fun
Lovely Sunday lunch at this wonderful beachside restaurant - delish food, great atmosphere, fabulous for people watching and just having a thoroughly good time - loved it
No no no
The restaurant I would not recommend at all. The waitress we had was the most rudest person I have ever come across She literally told us to use google translate to choose our menu opinions. Ignored us 3 times and made me feel so insignificant.
Absolutely love this place❤️❤️❤️🥂🍾
This was our first time here having heard about it from many friends who had visited. We will for sure be back we absolutely loved it.Great venue and beach, fab food at affordable prices, great wine list and an amazing ambience. The band came around taking requests and everyone was dancing.Just loved the vibe here and will for sure be back sooner than later.A unique specisl place.Dog friendly and my dog got a special bag of Club 55 treats a lovely touch.
Ehhh
Do not make this you primary destination for St Tropez. I you want to stop for a drink, fine. But it’s lackluster for sure! Very casual beach chair shack… beer, wine, coffee.

Great atmosphere and food, however be warned about the CRUDITÉ. The server casually asked us if we wanted crudité for our table of 10, which we agreed to. We were presented with an array of whole vegetables, including full tomatoes, uncooked artichoke and mushrooms, etc. Along with a nice anchovy dip and three boiled eggs. To our dismay, the unnavigable assortment of essentially raw produce cost €250..... beware.
We stopped by for a quick bite and some drinks.
They staff was very busy but checked in throughout the time we were there. Although the waves were pretty large, and a good amount of wind, the view is always spectacular. The food was delicious and always impresses. This place isn't the cheapest but was certainly more than I expected. I've never been let down and I highly recommend enjoying some sun and food at this amazing staple in the Saint Tropez area.
The service was amazing, however the restaurant and beach
The service was amazing, however the restaurant and beach were nothing like what I expected. The food was not great, they had a limited drink selection, and overall the restaurant was very unorganized and dirty (Bugs in bathroom, dining area very crowded with chairs and tables, sand all over the floor). The beach area was not nice at all either, the beach chairs were mattresses with a wooden back rest on top of it which I found weird. I would not recommend this place to anyone and there are plenty of better/nicer beach clubs in the area.
Definitely a restaurant that gives you the vibe of being a
Definitely a restaurant that gives you the vibe of being a St. Tropez jetsetter, especially if you are arriving by boat. Food is very good, and service is excellent. Certainly pricey, but not out of range of normal for an upscale venue. Might need a bit more of a wow-factor on the food side to get the fifth star, but would definitely recommend it.
