Never order for delivery, Extremely over priced for the food. The food is just simple. Definetly not worth the price. I am sure you can get better resoult for cheaper at home. I urge everyone to avoid the disappointment. To go orders and delivery should be half the price.Save your hard working dollars !!!

Be the first to ReplyOne of our go-to restaurants that never ceases to impress.
Whatever you order will be nicely prepared and presented. Four of us dined here on a Friday night, and it was full. Make a res to be sure you're accommodated. We had no wait time. Steak frites were yummy and done as ordered. Love those fries! One of us ordered the polenta fries, and the restaurant accommodated her substitution. Highly recommended for a very nice meal.

Be the first to ReplyHad a lovely dinner here the other week.
Reservations were easy and covered patio dining was perfect for the nice weather. While service was a little slow, all the food was delicious. The escargot was the only dish that was slightly disappointing ( a little bland) but the lamb and pork tenderloin were wonderful as were the appetizer specials we had. We would come back!

Service and food was exceptional. The vibe is of an authentic brasserie.

I was in Paris for two weeks less than two months ago, and Le Chat Noir definitely took me back in the best ways possible. We arrived on a Saturday night without a reservation, and (fortunately) were able to snag a table. Highly recommend making a reservation as the couple that arrived after us didn't have the same luck as the remainder of the tables were either occupied or were being held for guests that would arrive in short order. I ordered the Boeuf Bourguignon. The dish's flavor was complex, the ingredient ratio was balanced (it wasn't too saucy or dry, and there was just the right amount of beef as compared to the vegetables and the linguini), and the beef was so tender. The portion was perfect. I didn't feel the need to take any home, but I was satisfied without feeling stuffed. The crepe may have put me slightly over the top, but it was delicious and beautifully presented. I mean, dessert is part of a balanced meal, right? ;) Le Chat Noir is located roughly halfway between the Tenleytown-AU and Friendship Heights Metro stations on Wisconsin Avenue, NW. If mobility is a concern, the 10-min walk from Friendship Heights is more manageable and even. AmEx is accepted here.

Excellent service. Warm atmosphere. Now I smile even when just passing by because I remember great experiences there. Kudos to the staff.

Ate there one time last summer and was a pleasant experience. Went there again today expecting the same but the owner was apparently there this time. Called to let them know we were coming and no reservations required for us to "just walk in". We arrive about 10 minutes before 2PM only to be told by the owner they were closed when I asked if they could bring out the disable access ramp so my wife could get in like last time. What I asked that, I got a stern look and was told: "we are closed". Very unprofessional and would NOT recommend this venue for any disabled person. Beware. The owner is not very friendly or accommodating with customers.
Be the first to ReplyDivine crêpes, portions are on the larger size.
I sat at the outdoor seating with my kid and everyone was very attentive and nice about bringing a child to a nice restaurant. Everyone was so calm and relaxed that my child sat at the table and ate for a full hour - has never happened before. French and English is spoken here so you may choose your language of communication as you please.

The food was terrible, the service was terrible, the manager was rude. One poor waiter was trying to serve all of the tables and was polite but could not keep up. We will not be going back here.
Be the first to ReplyOne of our favorites.
Excellent service, delicious food, and lovely atmosphere. It was very hot tonight, but sitting with the open doors, we felt a nice breeze. My salmon was perfectly done, and strawberry sorbet was a nice refreshing dessert.

The chicken "Salade de Poulet" salad had a very limited amount of salad greens a few small apple slices and several medallions of horribly over-cooked chicken! My time is not worth the amount of time you have to wait for the food or the staff to arrive. My husband's Jambon crepe was "okay". My son-in-law's chicken looked good and my daughter's crepe was adequate. They are generous with water and stingy with the bread. I wish we had eaten at the Indian restaurant next door. $85 before tip for a lousy lunch!! Never will go back.
Be the first to ReplyI called and made a reservation for 2, inside.
We arrived and the host pointed to a 2 top in the outdoor enclosed area. The gentleman had a heavy accent and it wasn't too hot so instead of asking for inside a 2nd time, we made our way to the table. Figured it would be easier to not re-iterate my request. We waited and waited, no waiter, not a big deal, understood since no one wants to work these days. Took 20-25 minutes just to get our order in. No big deal. Probably 35+ before bread showed up. Sure no big deal. Extra slack due to staffing. Meanwhile our table was perfectly situated to observe all the weekend degenerates pickup their vape cartridges and rolling papers at the adjoining smoke shop. Our food showed up and my steak frites was a general disappointment. The steak was so thin it reminded me of a veal that had been pounded hard. It was cooked fine but it generally lacked flavor and the herb butter wasn't anything special. I get that restaurants have tight margins and that beef prices are insane right now. But I would have gladly paid for a proper cut sized quality New York Strip. My wife only ate half her beef dish. I do not recall what she ordered but she said it was just ok. We observed other dishes going to adjoining tables and they all looked good, well presented. In general, my rating was for the steak being a disappointment. What saved my rating was the deserts. They were fantastic. We will probably try this place again sometime as the duck and seafood dishes were probably way more exciting.Worth a note - Parking is easy on the side streets.

Came to this spot after dinner for a Wine down Wednesday evening, and Le Chat Noir definitely didn't disappoint! The staff was very friendly, offering their recommendations off the wine list and the restaurant practiced great COVID safety protocols. As we get closer to the summer, I've started inching back to the white wines. The Sauvignon blanc was very crips and light. I appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet and also didn't have a "woody" flavor like most Sauvignon's I've tasted in the past! The Chardonnay was also amazing, and overpoweringly buttery, but had a light aroma and still very rich in flavor. I was definitely pleased with all my wine choices, and will have to come back to try out the food next time! The perfect pick me up for my Humpday venture - I mean you truly can't be the prices nor the pours!
