Seriously, if you're overwhelmed by the "expanse" feel" of the restaurant venue, don't NOT GO! The food, the service, the cocktails and the calmness of the water are all exceptional. I think that's why the dining room & deck is so wide, so that the experience is shared all. Best swordfish I've ever had; best cocktail and best service. Go, stay long and enjoy.

Rude. Went here for my birthday and after they said there was 4 people ahead of my reservation and I went to have a drink at the bar. I asked the hostess what time it was because I didn't have my phone. I then overheard hostess going "Jesus Christ" and talking about me. Never been treated so rude at a restaurant let alone after my boyfriend told them it was my birthday.

we were at my friends birthday dinner when a hostess was loudly talking about my friend in a negative way for no reason. this is unacceptable behavior, the birthday girl was visibly upset and the hostess never came to apologize. we will not be dining here again

This review is based solely on the APPALLINGLY rude and condescending hostess. My friend and I had a reservation at 8:15 on a Sunday night. The day before the reservation, I checked Resy to see if anything earlier had opened up and to my surprise, there was an 8:00pm booking that was completely available. I called the restaurant to try to switch to that table and the hostess refused and rushed me off the phone. I was taken aback by her in no way hospitable tone but I said whatever and proceeded with my day. The day of the reservation, I get a call from her telling me that they are moving my reservation to 8:30. We had arranged a car to take us there at 8:15 and with the attitude she gave me the day before, I was absolutely disgusted by her nature. It was beyond ridiculous that she told me she would refuse me a table at 8:15 and if we arrived then, I was going to wait. I then, politely asked to speak with her manager and she told me "I will not get the manager, you're talking to me." I said, I will wait as long as it takes and she literally hung up on me. I wonder how the manager would feel if they knew of the way she handled that. She is blatantly rude. If she had simply shown me some kindness and respect, I would've had a much more understanding perspective as a former hostess myself. It was shocking that such a beautiful establishment would allow that type of treatment. Either she lied when she told me that the manager did not want to speak to me (because she messed up and didn't want her manager to know) or her manager is also downright rude. Either way, it is enough for me to never return. I am truly disgusted by the offensive service she provided me. It's very sad because our waiter was excellent, the bussers showed great attention, and the food was delicious.

.. the view, the service, the food ... The tuna viscose salad was so good ... and the Le Branzino de poulet ... their signature dish was the best chicken we've ever had ... dessert ... Apple tart was too die for!

We were a party of 8 and apparently if your over 8 you are forced to select a app, dinner and desert from a prefixed menu of only 3 choices for each section (app, dinner & dessert) and they charge you ridiculously over the prices that are in the regular menu. So a green bean salad, steak with french fries (yes French fries) and apple tart dessert was prefixed price of $175 a person. Cocktails were extra. Our friends chose the restaurant and so we were stuck with this reservation or we would have left. Food was delicious and atmosphere was nice but for that price non of us were wowed and left disappointed. For what we spent, we should have left with a magical experience.

If anyone who works at this place is reading this and isn't the owner get over yourself you work at Le Bilboquiet. The food is average at best, the service is bad and the only redeeming quality is the water views. They literally have a roided bouncer at 6pm standing in the front. After 9pm its unbelievable for people watching - bad plastic surgery, escorts and sketchy old men.

The Cajun chicken has been my favorite meal on the planet for the last 28 years. The original location in Manhattan was absolutely legendary and anyone who experienced a meal at the OG location knows that it will never compare. That being said, the chicken is still outstanding. What is NOT outstanding are the prices and the general experience. I arrived to the sag harbor location at 8:30 on a Saturday night in January. The bar was empty and only half of the dining room was full. Our server was pleasant enough but the timing in which we received our meal was a bit absurd. I don't even need to look at the menu which is usually an indication that we're there for the Cajun chicken and our waitress certainly knew the drill. After ordering a dirty martini and placing our food order, the chicken arrived to the table less than 5 minutes later. The martini, however, arrived a solid 15 minutes after the chicken. I'm sure they pump out these chicken dishes so frequently that they've got them nearly plated as soon as the order comes in. However, as someone who has worked in the hospitality industry for almost 25 years, the lack of proper expediting is incredibly disappointing. I was half way through my meal before I got my drink! Perhaps they should wait until the patrons have received their cocktails before firing the entrees, as a $29 Tito's martini should at least be enjoyed with one's meal. And call me crazy but why did it take so long to make a martini when the bar was empty and the restaurant half full? I've tended bar for many years and that just doesn't make sense even if it's a packed house. Sadly, this place has lost its appeal in every way aside from that damn chicken tasting so good. If only I knew how to recreate it myself *le sigh*

We have been going to Le Bilboquet since it opened in Sag Harbor. At first it was fine. Expensive, but we expected that. The "gatekeeper" definitely looked us over before admitting us. Last week we returned with four friends. The place was so noisy that conversation was impossible. Our server got our orders wrong and no wonder. No way could she hear us. My friend wondered aloud what she was getting. The prices were exorbitant, the portions tiny and the food was edible. We all left with headaches and a credit card bill over a thousand - and two of us don't drink. I told the manager it was criminal to pack so many people in.Never going back.

Wish I could give zero stars! What the other reviews say are true, the host staff are completely rude, elitist, and prejudiced. Came in here for dinner and the host told our friend he did not fit the dress code and suggested he go next door to buy new clothes (we were all dressed very nicely). We laughed and walked out, and the host chased out onto the street and screamed "you're cancelled!" It was actually hilarious because he looked like a fool and he did us a favor by saving us the money on horrible food and service. It's insane that this place is even still in business considering how awful they treat their guests and don't care about customer service at all. To be taken seriously, they need to rethink their staffing strategy because obviously this is an ongoing problem. It's disgusting to think that a place so judgmental is even still in business.

We know this is the big hotspot and said so we wanted to try it. The music volume was more fit for a club than fine dining but I get that they want it to be a scene. High hopes for the experience: not enough menus for everyone ...not the end of the world but a blemish in the start. The servers were pleasant , however hard to hear over the music. Appetizers came wrong (the music?). Drinks took a while but were good. The Wagyu beef was excellent and everyone enjoyed the meal. Service was slow and underwhelming. Food was good. Atmosphere very attractive and trendy. Maybe good overall experience for some but I would be unlikely to return.

Literally the worst experience I have ever had dining anywhere around the world. The entire staff we dealt with from host to manager were completely rude and unprofessional. We came the first night and they wouldn't allow us in because one person in our part had on shorts. Ok, you have a dress code that's annoying but we made a reservation for the next night instead. Upon arrival the host was snobby and didn't seem to want to seat our party of 7 and made excuses for the wait by saying he couldn't find the reservation we made in person the day before. We finally get seated and the waitress is completely not happy to be there or wait on us. She walks off multiple times in the middle of us asking her questions about the menu and gets visibly irritated when we're not yet ready to order after only being seated for 5 minutes. One of our party ordered his steak medium and it came out rare, the waitress replied "oh I thought you wanted rare" when we mentioned it to her and when he reiterates medium she stormed off with the steak. It was brought back to the table dry and overcooked because they retired the already cut steak pieces and slapped it back on a plate. When we asked her for a fresh steak because this one was destroyed the manager came over and told us the steak was fine and that we didn't understand what steak temperatures were but he'd bring a new steak to appease us. I literally was in disbelief that the manager would speak to us this way about a simple steak that his chef cooked incorrectly. Then we asked for an itemized bill because it was a company dinner and the manager was brought again by the waitress who didn't want to print out more than one receipt to argue with us about it. He YELLED at us and began yelling French to his staff embarrassing us in the restaurant and having everyone look at us in a lowly way. When we paid the waitress THREW our card back on the table and walked away. This was disgusting and uncalled for. I have never been so humiliated and degraded in my life !!! This is absolutely THE WORST I REPEAT THE WORST RESTAURANT I've ever attended !!!!

The food was subpar. My main dish for brunch was the Cobb salad with chicken. The chicken was completely dried out and the dressing was very bland. Nobody in my party was impressed by the food. I gave 3 stars for my sherbet dessert and the service.

Felt the food was just mediocre, not spectacular that would justify the high prices. Very disappointed with our server. We waited awhile for him to take our order, I had a question about the salmon special and he said he will ask in the kitchen and never came back to answer me. A table of 2 young girls were seated one table away from us and within 5 minutes he took their order before ours, even though we had been seated for 20 minutes before they came in and I had already asked about one of the specials. I happened to over hear him tell one of the girls that the salmon special was sold out. He never told me, and I was the one who asked about it. After he took their order first, I told him we were ready to order as well, but he said he would be back to take our order. He still didn't come back to our table, he disappeared for 10 minutes and returned to the girls table to deliver their drink order first. Waiter forgot our second round of drinks and never refilled our water glasses. Maybe he had too many tables that night, but the service really turned me off. Ended up getting the Cajun chicken which was just okay. All the reviews rant and rave about this house specialty, but it was just average. Hubby got the steak frites which was good, but not worth the $64. I have no problem spending top dollar for something amazing but it was just average. Would I return? Definitely not! Too many excellent restaurants in Sag Harbor with much better tasting food and excellent service.

We went here on a Sunday night, from the start the staff came off rude and unorganized. It was not even that busy. When we were being seated the hostess forgot the table wasn't set up so she sent us to the bar and when we ordered she came back to tell us our table was ready but we had to wait on our drinks. She seemed annoyed and went away. Eventually we were seated and our waiter came over to tell us the specials. He was extremely rude and seemed off in general. The table next to us also had a very similar experience and he walked away before even finishing taking our entree order. The sun was setting so we went outside to take a photo and one of the waitresses was also taking pictures and was extremely rude bc we walked in front of her to take a photo. I'm sorry, shouldn't you be working?! The entire time we were there our waiter never checked on us once...the food runners took better care of us than him. The food was good but the service was so terrible that we will never go back or suggest this place to anyone. I'm not sure if they think they're hot shit bc D list celebrities come in sometimes but it's so not worth the money or food. Is it possible to give zero stars?

We had ordered bottled sparkling water which we later found out was $17! I ordered the salmon $46 and it was the most unimpressive dry piece of fish with a side of corn that looked and tasted like it came from a can. And topped with a pickle?! No sauce. Highly disappointing.

Decided to try despite all the negative reviews we've heard. Got turned away after the host looked my husband up and down and said sir we have a dress code. It was 89 degrees and he was wearing dress shorts and a button down shirt. We live close by so we went home and changed and went back. Same thing looked us up and down and then said we're full even though we could see inside half empty and hardly anyone at bar. Will never give them our business..

What is even more mind boggling is that the snobby hosts expect you to walk down to a shop and purchase $200 pants so that you can have dinner and drop many more hundreds. Truly absurd and I will never go back here again, and I recommend not supporting such an awful establishment.

The location in Sag Harbor is perfect as it is right on the water, so always try to get a table outside. In any case, you will enjoy being here as the food is impeccable.

I was charged a higher amount and she then tipped herself 20 percent. They were not even busy. I'm still waiting for my money to be returned. Also, I gave her cash at 1st. She took the cash and then came back later and said she needed a credit card instead.The food has even gone down. I was served soggy vegetables sitting in a pool of oil and my child ordered a lemonade that they made with sour mix from the bar.
