Elegantly decorated and beautiful ambiance located in the garden. The dishes were creative, well prepared and tasty. The staff, servers were on point. A little pricy but definitely worth the visit.

Been going to this TOP spot for many years (twenty), I still love it! Lassere or Laurent are my favorites! Didn't feel as top notch as years ago, but still excellent service/food and atmosphere. Laurent is the entire package, and you pay for it. For me it is a once a year treat, and enjoy every second! Desserts are incredible, I wish they would entertain the idea of desserts only!

Expect exquisite touches of finesse and sophistication at Laurent, starting from the aesthetically pleasing ambiance to the exemplary service. Restaurant serves classic French haute cuisine with an extensive selection of fine wines available to order. We were glad to have a friendly sommelier to provide helpful recommendations. They offer demi-bouteilles (half bottles) here, perfect for light drinkers or for those wishing to sample several varieties of wine in one seating. On to food... We opted for their seasonal menu, a four course meal which included Scallops, Turbot, Grilled Lamb and Soufflé for dessert. The dinner flowed smoothly from kitchen to table with a lot of care on taste, presentation and service. Quality was clearly above average. The Fillet of Turbot was superb- firm fleshed and only very lightly cooked, served in a frothy and savoury cream broth with clams, haricots verts and brown cap mushrooms. A silky leaf of green lettuce atop added a splash of colour and textural contrast. The Grilled Lamb, cooked medium rare, was deliciously succulent and fork tender with an irresistible crispy finish. The lamb course came with a Savoyard tartlet of simmered vegetables, essentially a wafer bowl containing a tasty mélange of chopped carrots, celery, potatoes, radishes, blueberries, fresh herbs plus a dollop of cheese dressing. We also loved the complimentary hors d'oeuvres (so tasty!) as well as the delicious tray of caramelised croissants (Kouign-Amann) while waiting for our soufflé dessert. The portions were substantial and with added servings of food on the house, we were pretty filled up by the time the petits fours arrived. If you are looking for a more contemporary style of cooking, Laurent might not fit the bill. However, if you enjoy quintessentially French haute cuisine, and are looking to dine in a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere, then this lovely spot in Paris is worth checking out.
Be the first to ReplyLovely and friendly servers.
Old school Parisian decor. Lengthy wine list. Stuffy clientele. Bread was bland. Butter was extremely cold. Starters from chef were delicious! Four gras lollipops, seaweed wrapped fish creme on a spectacular crisp and a cauliflower tempura with caviar. Yum! So much flavor in such a little bite. Warm lobster with a crispy Parmesan crusted gnocchi. The best thing I have ever eaten!!Beef was prepared perfectly paired with super inventive presentation of crispy puff potatoes. Dessert was ok. Nice way to end our trip to Paris.
Be the first to ReplyWe booked this restaurant to celebrate our 10th anniversary
We booked this restaurant to celebrate our 10th anniversary based on the good reviews, but what a disappointment! I can sort of understand the good reviews (people have different expectations and experiences) but I truly can't understand how this restaurant gets its 1 Michelin star. From the service (terrible) to the food (overpriced and bland) it was the worst dining experience during our 11 day trip. We do pay and don't mind paying high prices for good food and service but this restaurant doesn't provide either. I guess the fact that there were no locals dining there should have been the first red flag. The service: we ordered sparkling water they brought still water, we ordered white wine they brought red, we ordered rose champagne they brought white champagne, I ordered a drink (Old Cuban) they said they didn't know what it was and the had no alcohol other than wine (although they have a full bar). They gather dishes and clean the leftovers from the dishes in front of you on a tray, something even casual restaurants don't do... the male servers were rude and seemed not happy at all to be there, on the contrary the 2 female servers were attentive and pleasant. The food was overall bland.. nothing memorable, what made it memorable (in a bad way) was the bland food + the terrible service. We wouldn't come back even if they paid us to return.Sadly our anniversary celebration was nothing special, and quite disappointing. We regularly dine at 1-3 Michelin star restaurants in NY and on our travels, and it is normal to have the occasional off-day on food. But many of the problems at this restaurant were obviously the usual way they operate and not a one-off bad day.

Probably one of the most beautiful spots in Paris, right on the Elysee Gardens, near the Presidential residency.I have been there so many times, this is the place to celebrate special events with all the salons that can be privatized. It is possible to purchase gift certificates that include a three course meal and cheese, one bottle of wine/person + one glass of Champagne, and of course dessert and the awesome palmiers at the end of the meal.

I just love Laurent ! It is not for an every day occasion, but enjoyed it for my partner's 40 th birthday, so we decided to spend his 55 th birthday here last week! It was as divine as I remember, and my vanilla dessert, utopia ! Perfection ! And Joris one of our lovely servers was a sweet as the ice cream and chocolate! Hope to enjoy New Year's 2016 into 2017 at Laurent !!! Bravo, for a job well done ! Not for those watching pennies, but a special place for those willing to indulge!
Be the first to ReplySo it looks like I never submitted my review.
Have eaten here twice. In May 2014 and September 2014. Each time was lunch on the beautiful patio. Phillip and his staff treated my party (and all around me) like royalty. Was it expensive? Of course, your eating at a Michelin restaurant. One that has maintained it's quality for years. Well worth the price, going back to Paris again and plan to take my grown kids
Be the first to ReplyI have a wonder time there on my special day.
.it is so perfect to the point is out of my imagination
Be the first to ReplyA wonderful 1 star Michelin institution.
The food is better than average and the wine is superb. An all inclusive menu including champagne and wine aperitif, 3 course meal with wine pairings, cheese, desert and coffee for $150.

.. If center of Paris like Champs Elysees became ghetto I have nothing to say here, but smile. It's located in the very center, close to the American Embassy, by the way. Beautiful garden outside and patio. Unfortunately the weather wasn't very warm, so we sat in the main dining room inside which is not bad either. The ambience is pretty spacious and luxurious, a lot of light and flowers. Alain Pegouret is the chef here. We had a seasonal menu - set of 6 dishes including cheese (180 € per person). But you can order there a la cart too of course. Which wouldn't be very rational decision though, considering the prices on the menu or dishes separately. To start with a spider crab with a jelly and a lot of something that I don't remember exactly as an appetizer. It was brought to the table in a martini glass with a small spoon. Then stuffed morels, very rich. After followed lobster in a curry sauce with fresh pees wrapped in lettuce. That was not very right choice of the chef to my mind, I mean the combination of lobster and curry... The lobster itself is so delicate that this curry sauce just blurs it's taste and you feel mostly curry in your mouth, but not this swell lobster meat. But somebody might like it may be. After this was brought the pigeon. That was the best for me of all 6 courses there. It's meat was smoked and roasted to your likeness and perfection. It came with a little beautiful garden of fresh vegetables on your plate. By the way, all dishes were artistically decorated, especially this pigeon, like a living picture, almost still life in 3D. And then came the cheese cart. A little bit of everything was represented there, pretty good choice of goat and sheep milk cheeses. One thing surprised me that they didn't offer any accompaniment for the cheese plate. Just plain cheese, no jam, nor compote, or figs, or grapes or special bread, nothing at all. And when I asked for some kind of jam or jelly - they told me that they didn't have any. Ok, no then no, fine... But that was pretty weird, that after cheese came dessert: it was hot pistachio soufflé with a cherry compote. You see?! Come on! Cherry compote - couldn't they bring that for the cheese when I asked for something to go with it? They told me "no", that they didn't have any. Of course, somebody might say that it was the symphony and idea of the chef so I shouldn't intrude in it. But I think differently here. And I'm the client, by the way. Of course as in every Michelin star restaurant there was amuse bouche and after dessert sweets. As for other dishes that were a la cart - for me interesting would be to try my favorite Turbot (99 €) or Ris de Veau (98 €) which is pretty rare to find even in the French restaurant and I'm sure it could be cooked spectacular there. The wine selection fits for an institution of this level. Amazing collection of Bordeaux, such as Chateau Margaux 1937, 1943 or 1947 or Chateau Mouton-Rotschild 1962. On the other hand, the iconic Burgundy: DRC, La Tache, etc. is represented only by the young vintages that might be even sinful to drink now. But it's highly matter for somebody else, we rested satisfied with a bottle of red Bandol - Chateau de Pibarnon 2007 for the very reasonable 75 € and were very pleased with it.The service was good, on the level of Michelin star restaurants, nothing either to praise or criticize. Except for "the fromage incident". The prices - somebody told that it's better to have menu with no prices not to look at them. All in all it was a good experience. But considering a huge amount of Michelin star restaurants or just simple good restaurants in Paris - there are other delicious places that you might want to visit next time or to come back to.
