Lovely La Sosta
Our family of six stayed at La Sosta in early September and had an incredible time. The location of the property is very secluded and special. After exploring Cinque Terre and Levanto it was the perfect place to "come home" to. We would get back, clean up and decompress from the day with delicious wines and nibbles. Honestly you could pitch a tent in the garden and the views alone would make this property special. The friendly service, the delicious food (probably our favorite breakfast of the whole trip) and the immaculately clean rooms made this a wonderful stopping point. The only thing to be aware of is that for those with mobility this may be a more challenging choice. The addition of the funicular to move luggage (and if needed people) up the hill is a great addition. There are still stairs and gradients to manage - this did not detract from our stay at all but it is something to be aware of.

Disappointing food, steep pricing, good wines and awesome location. Some dishes were OK but boring, others were a total mess - too many flavors and no harmony. The wine pairing and the location is a plus but in total this is highly overpriced.

Truly special place! Excellent view and garden. The room was very nice and the rest of the hotel was super charming. The dinner was served at a beautiful terrace with a view of the sun set. The host is fantastic, super nice and helpful with recommendations. Have already booked a second stay ⛰☀️🍷
Be the first to ReplySecond visit became a disaster
Our 2nd visit to the place. First time a really nice experience. This time a total disappointment. The 2 is only for the great location. Service and especially food a clear 1 only. It started with not allowing us to order the mixed starters which the people on the table next to us were having. They said it was too late to order at 7 pm. When you read their advertisement they allow to order this till 7:30 pm. Finally we tried the disastrous menu. The factory made Trofie with walnut sauce weren’t having any taste at all. For desert the cucumber sorbet was looking like already eaten and horrible also the 2nd desert- a Ricotta which they tried to prepare as a kind of Straciatella - didn’t taste well at all. We left completely disappointed without being asked about our experience at all. They simply don’t care. Means they’ll never see us again. No recommendation at all.

This hotel is a very special place. Nestled up high in the mountains of Cinque Terre just a short drive down to the city Levantó. The woman who runs the hotel is absolutely lovely. She helps guide you through Cinque Terre and things to do. Our room was charming, the views were spectacular. The setting is so special, not to mention how delicious the restaurant is and how delightful the staff was as well.

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights on or tour down the coast. What a nice and peaceful place. The staff is extremely helpful and nice. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Surprised to hear that it’s rated only 2 stars because I would have guessed its at least 4. The dinner was excellent, it was a gourmet 5 star meal. The views in all angles are amazing. I did not find the parking or the monorail a problem at all. Levanto and Monterroso are only a 8-10 minute drive. Breakfast was also fresh and delicious. Angela will guide you for an easy trip to Cinque Terra!
Be the first to Reply5 STARS!! ROMANTIC hotel near Cinque Terre!
This hotel deserves 5 stars! Beautiful rooms with amazing views. The food is divine and the service is great. Angela and her team go above and beyond. Very close to Levantó and Monterosso. If you want to stay in a romantic hotel this is the place! Highly recommend!! 5 Stars

As a family of 4, La Sosta was the perfect base to start from and come back to following the hiking recommended by the Valentina at Reception. We love discovering local products and enjoyed the fact that all meals are prepared with local ingredients. Our pesto was home-made and it makes a difference! We took the hotel’s private monorail from the car park up to La Sosta: our daughters were thrilled. Being in a medieval village was an experience: the church bells, the one narrow street, a bit like living history. Warning: being on a hillside means that everything is either up or down, so a pair of comfortable shoes helps. My moment of total peace was my glass of local wine recommended by Carolina while the family was getting ready for dinner. Ideal for our family’s short break.

What a wonderful stay! Truly off the beaten track and the view of the valley and sea at sunset is so peaceful... sipping a glass of wine of the terrace. We took two rooms; each one was different but both spacious and very welcoming. Loved the extra olive virgin oil soaps and creams in the airy bathrooms. The staff’s local knowledge allowed us to make the most of our time exploring the Cinque Terre (but not only) and their warmness made us feel so at home. Really enjoyed our dinners and the wines proposed, and knowing that it’s all locally sourced made it that bit more special. Will be back!
Be the first to ReplyDirty and mildewed room / cannot recommend
Summary: I cannot recommend at all!!!!!
Would I go again: for sure not
Rooms: dark rooms with several serious damages that does not deliver on what is promised on the hotel webpage or by the Magazin „white line“- e.g. the ceiling in the bathroom came down and had mildewed spots
Cleanness: several dead mosquitos could get found on the walls and the room was dusty
Location: located in a cute mountain village that gives you a quite relaxing feeling. The view from the restaurant is awesome and compensated for some but not at all for all shortcomings
Food: good food that felt quite authentic. The prices (39 Euro) are far too high for a 3 course menu consisting of anchovies with oil and bread, a meat pasta dish and 2 scoops of homemade ice cream
Service: quite mixed - the lady at dinner was really friendly and gives you a welcoming feeling. The lady at the reception was also friendly but had some problems with handling our complaint regarding the room (gave mixed answers, wanted to push us to stay, etc.) but finally handled the case in our interest (canceled our remaining stay and compensated us with a free dinner). sad that we had to have such an intense conversation
Overpriced and understaffed
The position of the place is great overlooking the sea. Our room was really nice and spacious but the light in the bathroom mirror did not work. The food was really bad and we are used to eat in good italian restaurants. We were promised that the fish was from the local sea and local market when we booked the place. But they did not serve any fish at all so we had to eat pasta which clearly came from the local supermarket and not fresh from the market. There were no a la carte which we were led to believe but only the pasta menu with. In the evening there were one chef and one waiter who had to help in the kitchen and run back and forth to serve all the guest which clearly was to difficult for one person. The noise from her running annoyed and what could have been a nice quit evening outside was a stressful experience. The food was as the service a big disappointment and spoiled our stay since it was a big part of the stay. We complained about the food and did not have to pay for it, but that did not change our experience and we wasted out expectations, time and money. On arrival we were greated with the expectation that we should not burden the staff since they were busy. Not exactly the message you want at that price. Definitely not recommended, unfortunately.
