Amazing Food, fantastic atmosphere
Wow, this place is amazing! The food is incredible, we were fortunate to try most of the dishes on the menu and the flavours are Michelin star quality. There was a lively atmosphere with great service. Can’t wait for our next trip.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Meal.
A sublime meal and deserves its spot in time outs top restaurants of London. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only issue was they ran out of items on the menu on the night. Would recommend!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing Bruch and welcoming staff
This is an amazing place to visit, we were very lucky to just be able to walk in, might be best to book, and the team were great at juggling the reservations they had to enable us to sit down. We sat at the counter and had a great view in to the kitchen. The food was great, especially the peri peri chicken and the banana bread BUT everything we saw leave the kitchen or be cooked looked great. An deal place for a weekend brunch. The staff are part of why this place is so good, just the welcoming attitude and great advice - you can not put a price on being so welcomed regardless if this is your first time or your 100 visit
Be the first to ReplyGreat buzz and food but not amazing
We've been thinking about try Kudu for some time, and finally made the journey from SW London. I found it good but not great. I think it is perhaps a victim of its own success. The staff were very engaged and helpful put probably overstretched because we were left without wine and service for too long. That's fine if the atmosphere is chilled but we were asked to move on promptly at the end of our 2 hour slot on a busy Friday night. The food is good. Highlight was the trout with corn and avocado. The pig’s head agnolotti was also dense and delicious. Chicken hearts were stunning. The bread is ok but well overpriced for what it is, similar for the Onglet- for £58 for two I'm expecting more.
Be the first to ReplyGreat, date night treat
Absolutely loved this place .the service and food was excellent Special note to Ryan,Del Roy and Cillan(chef). . Ryan was super attentive, and made us so special as did everyone else.this is a special date night We started with drinks and bread and seafood butter, it was outstanding brioche like with melted butter which was outstanding. Chicken hearts were beautifully cooked, a little spicy(it was peri peri,so thats on me) but fantastically cooked.. Everything was executed to perfection and loved the ambiance. My standout dishes were the carrots with goats curd and the scallops which were outstandingly cooked with the most amazing cape Malay and curry leaf sauce. Ok the chocolate ganache too.. you get the idea, it was beautiful This place has been on the list for so long and we will be back.
Be the first to ReplyBrilliant food and service
I’ve been a couple of times now, for brunch and dinner. Both excellent. Really friendly staff, innovative and great quality food. Always an incredibly enjoyable experience. Nice cocktails and extensive wine list. Big thumbs up from me!
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding food - SA food with bling
I love this restaurant, it is very low-key in decor, it is all about the food. The food was sensational. I am visiting from Cape Town, and had heard about Kudu so was very keen to visit. My daughters and I went, and were not disappointed. Also had a great selection of good SA wines. The staff was so friendly and service was super efficient.

Brilliant restaurant. The staff are so friendly and the food is sensational. Expert command of flavours. Great concept, would return!

Faultless - the staff, the space, the wine, the food were all faultless. I’d go so far as to say it’s the best meal I’ve had in London in a long time. The food was imaginative and full of flavour. Do not hesitate in booking a table!
Be the first to ReplyGreat food. Choose a seat at the bar to watch the chefs
Perfect for the solo diner and others Sensational flavours. Not the most exciting location - a short walk from queens road Peckham station. Lamb rib with miso and carrot with goats curd were standouts
Be the first to ReplyAn interesting family lunch
This was certainly a different dining experience for us, we have several dishes to share between us; depending on individual tastes some were liked better than others, but the final dessert was enjoyed by all.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing 50th Birthday Dinner!
Fantastic experience! We just finished my wife’s 50th Birthday Party at Curious Kudu, the private dining at Kudu. The guests were blown away by the food, drink, and service (Amber)! From beginning to end it was the perfect night. The star of the show was the lamb for our main. It was spectacular. Thank you Amber and Curious Kudu for a wonderful evening.
Be the first to ReplyNice enough
Restaurant located on main Peckham road in a rue of shops. Very dark decor in dining space with nice open kitchen. Very welcoming and pretty good service. Traditional South African dishes with a twist. The main beef Onglet signature dish not as tender as you might expect but overall some interesting dishes and restaurants worth a try.
Be the first to ReplyExciting food, inclusive atmosphere
This was my second time here and it was very good. I sat at the kitchen counter and you could see the passion that goes into the food. Standout for me was the Aubergine main and the Scallops (small plate) and as before I loved the bread with melted bacon butter. It is a small restaurant and on my visits very crowded but still felt like there was plenty of space and the service was just right. I will be going again.
Be the first to ReplyOvepriced and small portions
Tghis was a special occasion and pre-booked. The food was good, if too salty but the portions were hardly filling. No accompaniment with mains. Drinks overpriced - even for London. It was on balance disappointing, even though service was good.
Be the first to ReplyEnjoyable dinner
We were a group of 5 (3 adults, 2 young kids) that visited on a Saturday night. This was a first visit, although we did try out the affiliated Kudu Grill a couple of months before. The venue had a nice ambience. Our table was definitely on the small side though (shrinking tables seem to be trending now in London!), which led to a constant battle to create space as dishes arrived. Our group ordered the kudu bread with seafood butter, peri peri chicken hearts, ricotta ravioli, asparagus, scallop potjie, aubergine, and the onglet beef with rosti potatoes and spinach. We also had the chocolate ganache for dessert. The food was generally quite good. Favourites were the bread, chicken hearts, potjie, the truffle mousse that accompanied the onglet and the chocolate ganache. That said, portion sizing was a bit inconsistent, e.g. a generous portion of asparagus vs. the comically small scallop potjie (despite both being on the ‘small plates’ section of the menu). Service was friendly, bordering on slow at times, but within reason. The bill for our meal came to £260, of which £90 was spent on drinks (side note: at this price point it is standard practise to accept Amex!). This was an enjoyable dinner overall, but it was missing the wow factor that we experienced at Kudu Grill. If I had to pick one to return to, it would be Kudu Grill without a doubt, even though it was the more pricey of the two.
Be the first to ReplyFathers Day Brunch
What a wonderful brunch we had at Kudu today. The food was perfection and the Kudu team were so lovely - friendly yet professional and extremely helpful & knowledgable. We had the best time spending quality time with our lovely daughter on Fathers Day. I would totally recommend Kudu to anyone who wants really fabulous food, great service and a lovely atmosphere.

Took my partner here for his birthday. Saw amazing online reviews and didn’t know what to expect. We were blown away by our experience. We were greeted by the most lovely and friendly waitresses, the atmosphere and vibe was chilled and relaxed. We were seated by the chef cooking area and it was great to watch. The food….. incredible. One of the best places I’ve been for food in a long time. Everything was cooked amazingly, the courses were served in great time, lovely wine and dessert too. Can’t give enough praise. Il be recommending to everyone I know :)
Be the first to ReplyExciting food, lovely personal friendly service
Spectacularly exciting food, different and interesting even to our jaded London palates (seven decades between us). Everything so good that I was wiping up the last bits with my fingers and then licking them.
Be the first to ReplySet lunch menu, delicious food, wine and great service
First visit to kudu. Went for Friday lunch set menu and from beginning to end it was absolutely delicious. Service was great and we couldn’t praise it enough.
Be the first to Reply8th visit!
This is probably my 8th visit to the Kudu group of restaurants/bar, and my 3rd to Kudu Grill. As always, fantastic food, a warm welcome, great service and just a real pleasure to be there. I have a pretty severe gluten allergy and have always been accommodated well and without ever feeling like I’ve had to compromise. The reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is that this time, my gluten free dessert option was a sorbet. I’m afraid a sorbet will never be a dessert in my view and I was really disappointed that this was the case. It was a nice sorbet, but not what I want at the end of a meal and I felt it was a bit of a cop out. Still my favourite restaurant in Peckham though, so I will be back.
Be the first to ReplyDidn’t get to go
Wanted to book a table for 7 people for a birthday only to be told they only take bookings up to 6. Don’t understand this policy at all. Really disappointed as had been looking forward to going.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding food
The restaurant was buzzing on a Sunday afternoon. Very nice atmosphere, the service was charming if a little sparse (can be forgiven because the restaurant was very busy and when we did request anything it was brought straight away). The food was absolutely outstanding. Everything from the house cured salmon to the desserts was top notch. Highly recommended! Thank you
Be the first to ReplySo disappointing!
The food is incredible however the way we were treated was incredibly disappointing. We were placed in the waiting area near the toilets the entire time, even though we had made an advance booking. Everyone else that arrived after us (who was not a person of colour) was moved to proper tables.
We ordered too much food and requested a take away container. We were told that the restaurant had no take away containers (I still don't really understand this) and the waiter offered to wrap the saucy spinach in foil. We told her that we did not think that that would be practical as the sauce would drip all the way home. She then took it to the kitchen where they put the spinach in a vacuum packed bag which they handed to us with no carry bag. We went to the shop next door and requested a plastic bag to put the vacuum packed spinach for the train ride back home.
Such an unpleasant end to any otherwise beautiful reunion with a fellow saffa.
Don’t bother for any Saffas
Very disappointed with my visit to Kudu as I planned this a month in advance for my fiancé and myself’s anniversary. We stated on the booking we were celebrating and nothing was done for this, so why did you ask?
Then it came to the menu which had no South African influence except the biltong so if you’re South African don’t even bother as you won’t get any of it here. I found the names of drinks quite odd “white lady” and “sangoma” pretty sure you could have come up with better names than this as sangoma references a witch doctor in South Africa and white lady seems a bit out of touch and a bit racist.
The food wasn’t great, the scallops were literally the worst so please don’t order as you’re basically eating air, they basically brought it out in a potjie pot that barely had anything inside my partner and I literally had to laugh. The dessert was also disappointing as we had half a cheesecake and at this point I had to take a photo cause it kept getting worse. The only thing that saved this dinner was the otleg so just stick to ordering that. Overall I won’t be coming back as looking at previous reviews it seems as it’s an ongoing issue.
