One of the best Chinese cuisine we ever tried ❤️d
I am surprised that it's got just 3 stars overall as me and my boyfriend going there every few month since 2 years and we never have enough 😍 The food is absolutely delicious- we always using buffet option- and the Customer Service is outstanding 👍👍🤗🤗🤗 Restaurant looks really nice and even music is great- we decided to add some of the songs to our playlist 😍😍 We would highly recommend to visit King of Kings ❤️❤️❤️ Great quality and variety of food- including the desserts-, menu changes, alcohol and fantastic prices.
Be the first to ReplyGood food :) Cold plates :(
Food was great apart from the cold plates. Now the food wasn’t exactly hot to begin with, it would really really help if they were warm. As it is… warm food onto cold plates = cold food!! I noticed someone else sat nearby complaining about this. Apart from this… everything was great. Drinks were overpriced but that’s to be expected and overall the meal cost was about right.

Staying at hotel next door so decided the 4 of us would eat here. My son decided not to eat and the restaurant were happy for him to still join us. I first asked if I could have a look at what was available (before we paid). They were happy for me and my sister to do that.a young lady explained what was where and then explained that there was a hot pot available. Didn’t have a clue what she was on about in which my daughter explained. Once seated the staff brought over our ordered drinks within 5 minutes. We decided on having the hot pot/buffet for the 3 off us. The staff were exceptionally polite and quick to help us with any off our needs. I can not fault the staff, and the food on the buffet was hot and tasty. I have seen numerous negative reviews about this restaurant on here and I decided to try it out for myself. I will definitely be returning back to this restaurant and thumbs up to the chef and staff. Thank you
Be the first to ReplyDisgusting, made me throw up
Felt really sick straight after and threw up, so the food isn’t good here AT ALL so don’t go unless you fancy that
Be the first to ReplyVery cold
Drinks was overpriced. Food at the buffet was cold even though we ate at 1. The food tasted good but it was cold.
Be the first to ReplyI would return! Great food & staff!
I visited this restaurant and I thought the interior was lovely, really lovely staff and a good atmosphere. it's normal in most buffet places to pay before eating and I was cool with this! There was a lot of selection and they was replenishing the food regularly, the ice cream was lovely and tasted so good. I thought it was nice that customers came before it closed to get left over food to reduce waste which I think was a really good idea to prevent food waste. I would be returning if I came back to Birmingham as we had a good time with good food and the staff were friendly. Everyone has different tastes and it met our tastes that's for sure.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely awful. So bad.
First time in Birminghams fabled Chinatown since pre-Covid, and desperate to sample an "All You Can Eat Buffet". I was staying at the hotel across the road from this restaurant, so logic said "win/win" The posters advertised Vegetarian Dishes too. Entered the restaurant and abruptly told where to sit. I ordered the Buffet Lunch for one. Was told "You pay now!" again, rather abruptly . £14.99 which is about right. I confirmed they had a Vegetarian selection and was assured there was.I As soon as I saw the selection, I knew I'd made a mistake. Apart from samosas, spring rolls, onion rings and chips, ALL deep fried, the only other choices were fried rice, reheated mushrooms and over-steamed Broccoli that looked very mushy. There WERE noodles, but traces of pork still remained, like they'd made one batch and seperated them whilst picking out the meat! I took a selection of what I deemed to be vegetarian and sat down. I was given a glass of like-warm tap water. It was slightly colder than the food which was all tepid at best. I didn't venture to desserts as my appetite had gone. So, £14.99 for a plate of less than warm food. Really rubbish. I said I wasn't happy but was met with a blank look. I can see why I had to pay up front, otherwise I'd have simply refused to pay. Afterwards, I had a stroll around the area and annoyed to find several busier restaurants that had happier customers. My advise is to have a mooch around as King of Kings is not a good example of what Chinatown in Birmingham has to offer!

We were in China town and looking for a buffet lunch and called in. Lunch was £15 per head. There is a good range of food with some choices for vegetarians, but some of it was a bit colder than we would have preferred which makes me think it had been cooked a while ago. There is also a choice of desserts, fruit and an ice cream machine. The toilets are very clean!
Be the first to ReplyNot returning…
I was initially concerned when I had to pay before I had eaten. I wish I’d have listened to those concerns and not eaten there. I’ve had better meals.
Be the first to ReplyThis place will not exist in a year!
I wanted to treat myself for Lunch, and decided to visit this easy-to-get to venue around about Midday Saturday 22 April 2023. Upon entering the facility, there was no warm greeting or welcome. A woman sitting at a table got up, and asked me if I wanted something. It was unclear who this person was, but I surmised it must have been the owner, who promptly asked for payment first, rather than enquiring about my wellbeing. I paid £15 cash for an "All-You-Can-Eat" buffet and found a table. There is no finesse about the place. Some of the food items I selected were lukewarm and lacking in flavour, which I found disappointing, in view of the fact that they allege to provide cuisines from multiple locations around the world! It is clear that money, and quick profit is the driving force behind this establishment - there was zero customer service skills demonstrated during my time there. These minute elements actually make a restaurant. Apart from lukewarm, flavour deficient food, the arrangement of the options was a little illogical - main course food appeared before starters. there was no signage indicating what each item was, which left one to guess what was available - potentially dangerous if one had allergies. All in all I was disappointed that a "doggie-bag" was not made available, as I did not wish to waste the few leftover items I had left over on my plate. Staff devoid of common sense, logic and customer service skills blatantly denied me the opportunity to minimise waste and take the food away. If fact, they indicated I would need to pay extra for a doggy bag - again indicating the Number One motivation of the place - it is most certainly not customer satisfaction - it most certainly getting as much out of customers for as little as possible in return! I predict this place will not exist in a year!

I love this place so much, the food is amazing, and the the people that work there is amazing so friendly an kind
Be the first to ReplyCold, inedible food with a hint of rudeness.
From the outside, it seems like a nice, friendly place to eat. Good location too..although as soon as you enter the 'so called' restaurant, you immediately have to pay (£16 each) then the waiters will stare at you straight after until you awkwardly shuffle yourself to a nearby table and grab yourself a plate. From there you have a selection of around 12-15 trays of lukewarm, rough looking dishes that have obviously been there for a couple hours without being changed or moved. The beef dishes were dry and old, the chicken was too hard to swallow and anything that was breaded was again just dried up and inedible. After a plate of warm noodles and chewy chicken, we decided it wouldn't be best to try any of the fish dishes. At the table, a waitress approached and asked if we wanted some drinks so we ordered ourselves some soft drinks and after receiving said drinks, we had a card machine pushed in front of ourselves and the word "Pay" spoke at us quite rudely, mid fork in mouth. The waiters and waitresses looked lost whilst they stood around watching everyone eat and for some strange reason one of the managers sat down and put the TV on, turning off all the music and decided to catch up on some football. When the customers sat at the table underneath said television complained about the sound, they were told to move to another table out of the way. After that, all the customers looked uncomfortable and kept quiet due to the insensitive manager. The restaurant is truly unreal and I would 100% not recommend it to anyone. Save your time and your money and go elsewhere. There are tons of lovely restaurants and areas in Birmingham to eat at that appreciate you & your service. Do not let this one place ruin your view on the city.

The food was great, the staff were friendly. I would kill to have some more hot pot. It was kind of difficult to figure out what to do though.
Be the first to ReplyAVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! Waste Of Money!
Visited here last night. As our local Chinese buffet is closed on Mondays. Payment on arrival, I now know why as I’d of refused to pay!! We went to bathroom to wash hands before eating and there was sick all over bathroom floor aswell as full bins with dirty sanitary products showing! Reported to staff, They didn’t look too bothered! Not much variety of food! Deserts were non existent! Few cakes which included inedible frozen profiteroles & some dried up rotten fruit!!! When I asked a staff member if they were going to be restocked he said “No, they frozen! No time to make ready” baring in mind it was 6pm & they closed at 10pm! Ice cream machine was broken which I was informed of by a Chinese lady shouting at me & my daughter when we went near it “NOT WORKING!!!!” Went back to use toilet Approx 30min later & sick was still all over the floor!! Used plates always stacked up on our table aswell as other tables! Service was shocking!! Paid £65 in total for 2 adults, 3 children! Will NEVER return here and would advise everyone DONT GO!! Buffet Island on Tyburn Road is same price & is 1 million times better than this restaurant could ever be!!! Seriously DONT waste your money!!!!!!!!!!!
Be the first to ReplyYuk! Disgusting place
I would give this place 0 * Food was all over cooked and cold, when confronted the manger/owner woman she started raising her voice very loud and we had our children with us, youngest is 8 yrs old she has very bad anxiety problems, horrible place don’t waste your money. Will never ever return to this s**t hole, never known such a rude horrible woman in all my life. Disgusting behaviour. No people skills don’t know how to talk to people £72 for manky food 🤢
Be the first to ReplyDisappointed and Not good Value
Went 19th Nov while visiting German Market. Payment before we ate anything which I understand as I would have asked for a discount after the food. Poor choice, empty dishes and food didn’t look appetising at all. Picked out the best of what we could but extremely disappointed with quality and choice. Deserts non existent unless rancid fruit which wasn’t fresh or cold. 24hrs later still have terrible upset stomach as does my partner and her sister too. Been to plenty of these buffet type restaurants and this was the most expensive and I feel ripped off. Never again. Lesson learned. 1 out of 5 at best. My Chinese friend very embarrassed at my report. Shame on you.
Be the first to ReplyThanks Michael!
I visited King of Kings buffet with my brother and we both thoroughly enjoyed our experience, mainly due to one member of staff, Michael. Michael looked after us throughout our visit and remained, polite professional and super friendly and accommodating. The food was was delicious and cooked perfectly. Sushi was amazing, best I’ve ever had and when asking for more sushi as it had ran out, the chef made me some as requested and with salmon specifically. It was fresh and brought to my table promptly. Thank you for a great dining experience!
Be the first to ReplyNot a Chinese, Japanese or Cantonese restaurant, go somewhere else.
You pay on entry because you wouldn’t pay your bill if you had the choice! We visited whilst in Birmingham on business. The food is Buffett style, Luke warm under heating lamps. Lots of msg with tasteless offerings, these stay out until finished and appear to be heated up and put out rather than cooked. My colleague was just about to eat a dark black long hair when we stopped him, I am blonde and the other members of our party short haired or bald… There is a desert section with open ice cream containers, these are littered with finger prints, children eat from them with their hands, the staff say or do nothing. A shambolic place that is apparently a restaurant, do not go there. Shame on you, my Chinese friends would be sickened by this place. This is the only thing we ate upon arrival, I have been I’ll since the meal and would never go back.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible services and not enough food to call King of King buffet

Be the first to ReplyIt's not like before
The people aren't welcoming, if ur Asian u pay at the end and if ur any other race u have to pay at the start. Since they changed the owner the food isn't the same it's worse, I used to come once a week now it'll be the last time I ever come.
