While the Travelmints team was spending a week working in
While the Travelmints team was spending a week working in Sydney, we had a craving for Korean cuisine. It was a Wednesday night, and we'd been mainly eating either at home, or fast food. We love Korean BBQ, and it's not often you come across fine Korean dining. We headed along to Jung Sung during dinner time, and we found that the place was very dark, with a minimalist fit-out. The venue is nice but feels a little bare and lacking character. Some interior design could lift the vibe and enhance the Korean characteristics of the food. The wait staff people were polite. It's quite a new venue, and we got the vibe that the floor staff were still getting the hang of things. They did give us a detailed rundown of each course and ingredients which we found useful. Jung Sung have a set menu, and we ordered the 5-course option, but they also do a 6-course option as well. If you can fit in the 6-course option, then do it - you won't regret it! Maybe eat a light lunch on that day and enjoy a few matched wines with dinner and enjoy the experience. They were kind enough to let us swap a dessert with a course. We had: Red snapper, catch of the day, Morton bay bug 2 ways, Berkshire pork and MB 9+ Wagyu beef. The Morton bay bug 2 ways in a Bibimbap was excellent and so unique. Each dish is extremely detailed with many ingredients and components. To accompany the meal, we had some gin martinis, which were excellent. Although the bar doesn't have an extensive collection, we have no doubt that this place knows how to serve decent classic cocktails. This is an experience that's perfect for a mid-week date!
Be the first to ReplyIt was decent not spectacular.
Bi bim bob had shredded beef which isn't my favorite. The owner was polite and the food came out quickly. I never had pickled eggs but it was good. I may be back but it depends.

I've only been to this place twice, and both ended satisfy with their food, I'm very surprise that I'm the first one who give out this review. The owners are nice and passionate at what they're doing. The foods are great, especially their Korean hotpot, that's the must have entree for me and my friends, it can serves up to 4 people and its under $30.Also their welcome dishes are fantastic, if I have to rank the welcome dishes, I would say it rank at least top 3 Korean restaurant in Philly. Another nice thing about the restaurant is that it's easy to find parking on the street, I paid a dollar to park up to an hour! Not too many people goes there, so you can get the best service! It's worth a visit!!
