Joseph Leonard New York Reviews from The Last Year
The worst food I've ever had in my life! The chicken
The worst food I've ever had in my life! The chicken sandwich was so dry and oily, and the fries was so dry and almost brown.
We loved it
What a find , friendly staff in this cosy eatery opposite the famous Stonewall Bar , the food was very good and seeing other peoples food go buy its a place I would like to work my way through the menu if I lived local , on our visit we had the Eggs Benedict which was cooked to perfection and washed down with a sparkling wine and great coffee .
Great food, great service, loud and joyous room.
But, oh boy, the music. Total dad rock ala Coyote Ugly/Applebee's/Cracker Barrel. People seemed to enjoy it, but couldn't tell if it was ironically so or if it was New Jersey Nite Out. I'd return.
Very cute and trendy restaurant in the heart of the Village.
It's not a large restaurant, so tends to get packed quickly. It has a range of selections on the menu, but many were not things I could eat. My brunch date, however, ordered the French toast, which looked like a home run. I wish their menu was a bit more accommodating to my dietary restrictions, but otherwise is a solid neighborhood choice.
I don't really go out of my way to write these but I was
I don't really go out of my way to write these but I was really disappointed by this restaurant's service. For background, my partner introduced me to this restaurant and we have gone a couple times, seated at a booth, always pleasant. Today, we were seated at the bar and this particular female bartender was so rude from the moment we sat down. The bar is loud so I misheard the milk options, responding with one they didn't have. Instead of responding like a normal person that that one wasn't available, the bartender continuously repeated her question in a passive aggressive tone over and over again until my partner, who was closer to her, had to turn to me to clarify what she was actually saying. This unnecessary interaction just left a bad taste in our mouths as we had just started and put us in an uncomfortable position for the remainder of our time at the bar. We wont be returning anymore due to this particular employee, but I appreciated the prior experiences.
Love this cozy spot that is full of friendly people.
The staff is fun and welcoming. We love their burgers which are served on English muffins. I have been here numerous times but the latest time is most notable. My friend and I shared the steak special for two with bordelaise sauce that was melt in your mouth sublime. Then we had the Banoffee dessert (pictured) that was incredible. We were having such a great time that we lingered a bit too long and they needed our table. They very nicely relocated us and we stayed for esspresso martinis! Can't wait to return.
best service ever! the waiter was so kind and funny.
the food was good but not amazing, and the restaurant itself has good charm. Definitely a cute spot.
Delicious! We got the burger, French toast and croque
Delicious! We got the burger, French toast and croque madame and everything was amazing. Service was super friendly- our server was attentive from start to finish. And did I mention this place is super cute and cozy?! Will definitely be back. It's packed so be sure to make a reservation.
Best hashbrowns In the city.
Possibly the world. You will hear them crack a table over and your mouth will being to salivate. Pavlovian. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
went to joseph leonard for the second time on a saturday
went to joseph leonard for the second time on a saturday evening for a drinks and apps. i'm not usually one to post a review, but I had to come here and say that I have never been made to feel more welcome ANYWHERE in NYC. from the host to the servers and two bartenders, everyone was so welcoming and lovely and attentive. they were a bit busy (not packed) but the service was excellent- so excellent that i'm still in a good mood 12 hours later?? I don't think I ever realized how bad the service is everywhere else in the west village, or how important it is, until the positive experience I had here. we sat at the upper bar which was cozy and cute, though right next to the kitchen, so a little loud. cocktails were good, solid dirty martini and flavorful espresso martini with good espresso. we ordered a few apps and sides (hummus, cod croquettes, fries) - all very good and came out FAST. both bartenders had offered more bread to finish off the hummus before we even finished the first plate. croquettes were a highlight, mild flavor and great texture with a nice dipping sauce. definitely a new neighborhood go-to for me, perfect for a cozy date or catch-up with an old friend and just so damn homey. thanks, JL
This was such a wonderful surprises.
We were walking down the streets of Greenwich. We were lured in by the ambience that this restaurant possessed. We were there on a Wednesday, and it was packed so if you plan on going on the weekend, please make a reservation. This is a tiny corner restaurant. It's extremely romantic. The music is spot on the lighting is very flattering. The food is 10 stars ! We took a chance on a bottle of Pinot and it turned out to be exquisite. This is in my opinion a date night restaurant however, there were girls night party there . There are no televisions here... so if you're looking to watch a game go to an Irish pub. This place was meant for gazing into each others eyes and chatting. And if you happen to get a little lit, that's OK too.
Excellent
Excellent. Very original ratatouille with very fine taste. Service as usual in the USA. A second dessert offered after the compliments on the main course.
I wouldn't go back
The small restaurant has a romantic and cozy air, but the quality and quantity of the dishes offered is decidedly low. I wouldn't go back.
A surprising vintage drawer
An excellent recommendation from you. A really cool vintage space. I went with my family and we loved the new American cuisine. The menu is short but sophisticated. The service was friendly. I recommend
a $10 deviled egg did not taste like golden goose!
the house $10 an egg for devil egg!? golden goose is Gabriel the chef who charges $10 for one deviled egg plus tax and tip! because it is the village the server said! limited menu. there is a section hour between lunch and dinner. the service is great. the décor makes shabby chic like it has been gone with the wind!

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
