If you're seeking an introduction to Michelin-starred
If you're seeking an introduction to Michelin-starred dining, Jean-Georges stands as the epitome of such an establishment, ideally situated in Columbus Circle at the Trump International Hotel. Upon entering, you'll first encounter its casual yet upscale "sister" restaurant, Nougatine by Jean-Georges. As you traverse through the lively atmosphere of the bar and the Nougatine dining area, you'll find yourself greeted by the iconic, understated elegance of the JG entrance. Inside, the space is open and dimly lit, a spacious sanctuary of sophistication that defines the high-class dining experience. We opted for the TEN OMNIVORE, which was absolutely exceptional. Highlights included the Madai Sashimi, which was out of this world with its green apple jus, the Yellowfin Tuna Ribbons, the Black Sea Bass, and the Grilled Squab, which has transformed my perception of BBQ. For all that is sacred in the culinary world, please protect your pastry chef at all costs! The dessert I experienced was a straight-up showstopper, catapulting itself onto my all-time best things I've ever eaten list with just one bite. You'll simply have to visit JG to experience their masterpieces for yourself. At Jean-Georges, the service was as remarkable as the cuisine itself. Each staff member demonstrated an attentive, sophisticated approach, ensuring that every detail of our dining experience was seamlessly managed with grace and professionalism. Their warmth and attentiveness made us feel truly special, enhancing the luxurious ambiance that Jean-Georges is known for. This level of service, where elegance meets genuine hospitality, truly set the standard for what fine dining should be. An often-overlooked perk of the Michelin dining experience is the take-home goody bag, a gracious gesture from Jean-Georges. The almond cake included in it was remarkable, so much so that it was worth the menu's full price on its own. Back at home, this cake was so coveted that we all vied for just one more slice. Fights broke out. It's a testament to the enduring impression Jean-Georges leaves with its guests, right down to the last bite--even outside the restaurant's walls. JG. Perfection.

Been a while since I gave a 5 star review, but this was so deserving!! Food and service were amazing. We ordered the 6 course menu for $298pp. Each dish was unique with creative flavors and everything worked very well. I also loved the asian influence on the dishes. One of my favorite fine dining restaurants for sure!

Jean-Georges in NYC is a culinary masterpiece, offering an unparalleled dining experience in the heart of the city. The sleek decor and impeccable attention to detail create an elegant atmosphere from the moment you arrive. The food is the true star, with each dish presented as a work of art and bursting with flavor. Opting for the tasting menu, every dish exceeded expectations, with the standout being the egg toast topped with decadent caviar. The service is equally exceptional, with attentive staff ensuring a flawless dining experience. Jean-Georges sets the standard for fine dining in NYC, making it a must-visit for any food lover.
Be the first to ReplyWe went for Sunday brunch during NYC restaurant week.
Their menu was just perfect in terms portions for a prix fix menu.. flavors of the dishes were outstanding. Loved the unique combination of flavors and textures chef used to elevate each dish.. even the colors in each dish were beautiful.. each plate was a work of art! we got a table facing the central park and it was perfect. Their burrata appetizer that comes with toasted bread was heavenly and so was their entree with crispy chicken... service was really good too.. our server had great recommendations for drinks.. they do customize their drinks and made them 'skinny' (less sugary) version as I wanted. The only small hiccup in service was they forgot to give us the package of left over food. Would definitely visit again. It offers the Michelin star experience we were expecting. Highly recommended
Be the first to ReplyWhat an incredible night.
We celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary and it was everything you could imagine. The service was impeccable. Never overbearing yet super attentive. The dining room is simple, elegant and timeless. But the food. The food was out of this world. Delicious food that pleases the eyes as well as the tastebuds. Gorgeous presentation and placement as well.
Be the first to ReplyIncredible French dishes elevated with Asian fusion.
The black sea bass fish with banyuls vinegar and brown butter jus was the most surprising dish I have ever had. Right off the bat, the aroma from the brown butter jus and vinegar was divine - fragrant and nutty blended with an interesting sour tingling. The broth is so full of flavour - rich and buttery but is perfectly balanced by the sourness of the vinegar. The pearl onions, tomatoes, mushrooms enrich the broth's flavours and are a wonderful accompaniment. The fish is cooked perfectly and has a subtle light flavour, an amazing pairing with the rich broth with the crusted skin lending a crispy texture. Overall a truly magical dish with the most incredible and astonishing combination of flavors, I have never had anything like this before or since. The ingredients were some of the finest I've seen - king crab, black truffles, caviar, Hudson valley foie gras - all cooked perfectly, so exquisite. The Asian fusion elements incorporated into many of dishes elevated them and made very interesting flavour combinations. Perhaps there were a few too many sour elements, where the sourness became overwhelming toward the end. The bread and butter were amazing, the butter rich and creamy. The dessert was a perfect ending to the meal, very sophisticated and beautiful.
Be the first to ReplyDear foodies, you should know that Jean-Georges is now
Dear foodies, you should know that Jean-Georges is now owned by a real estate consortium, and many of the people who now work there haven't the slighted clue of high-end restaurant culture. We understand that issues can happen, including with fine dining, and we are nice people who are understanding. But this was just absurd. After our awesome waiter immediately encouraged us to return one of the tasting menu courses for improper cooking (rare in stead of medium rare as requested), and after a long wait it came back blue (!!) instead (our waiter was clearly embarrassed) so we sent it was back again... and, well, instead of describing all of the other mistakes that went along with these big ones, I'll cut to the quick: the restaurant manager completely abandoned us, We just sat there waiting. He seemed unaware that he should at least come by and apologize and offer a glass of wine while we waited....twice.... for one of our entrees. We finally called him out on this... and again to just cut to the chase, he said he had to check with management, and after a long while offered to deduct the cost of one of the courses of my dinner, since the mistake happened on the tasting menu of another person's (my husband, though that shouldn't matter) because -- he actually said this -- it was too difficult to break down the cost for the one part of the tasting menu that was ruined to deduct that. What??! There's so much more, but that's enough. We ended up being there for hours due to the long waits involved and so had to to cancel our after-dinner plans. For entree attempt #3 my husband gave up on the steak, feeling it's safer to do something else instead. He requested it to go -- we both just wanted to go home at that point. If you are looking for high end dining, please pick one of the other fine options of which there are plenty in NYC. This place has apparently become pathetically degraded by investors who, aside from the inept chef that night, apparently hire some grossly inept staff even to high level positions. (I should note that the sommelier was also excellent, not to be included in the incredibly incompetent staff we dealt with) Though we just happened to have bad luck, in the process we also learned that this restaurant is no longer what it was, and we'll certainly never return. I encourage you to go elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplyWow, we really had a nice evening at Jean-Georges.
Been on my list to come here for a while and it didn't disappoint. Roger, our server, was excellent and made some great recommendations. We did the 10 course tasting and enjoyed every morsel. Service, ambiance, food - all top notch. Definitely deserving of it's 2 Michelin stars. I also highly recommend having the Chocolate Martini, it's a very unique take on it.
Be the first to ReplyLike everyone in New York, I had heard great things about
Like everyone in New York, I had heard great things about this restaurant for a long time. I tried it last night with my girlfriend for my birthday and it was amazing. We had an 8:30 reservation so didn't do the 10 course primarily because it would have taken too long. We did the 6 course option which was delicious filling. The pumpkins desert was probably my favorite item. They have these weird cubbies where you can sit.. we were first sat there and then moved to a normal table. At the cubby when we first sat there were dirty napkins on our bench which isn't what you want at a place like this. Everything else was great though
Be the first to ReplyService is truly white gloves Our waiter Ed.
was knowledgable and great conversationalist. Well the food truly heavenly. Thank you for a great special night
Be the first to ReplyWent here to celebrate my wife's birthday.
It was an amazing 10 course dinner experience. Definitely recommend the 10 course over the 6 course. Everything about the experience was excellent. Our wait staff was so professional and attentive. The courses were not rushed and well timed. They inform you at the beginning that it will take about 3 hours typically, and quite frankly the time flew by. Each course was nicely explained. Nice touch at the end on the dessert choices. Also the almond cake gift bag at the conclusion of the evening was a pleasant surprise. Although certainly pricey, the true value is wrapped around the totality of the experience given the special occasion we were there for. Many times these upscale restaurants don't seem to live up to expectations, however, Jean Georges really hit it out the park that evening IMHO. Location near Central Park and Time Warner building is a plus as we enjoyed a nice walk afterwards. Jean Georges is likely a once in a lifetime experience for us but one that will be very memorable. If I were to nit pick at all about the experience I would say that the entrance hosting could be improved as it seemed they were not extremely inviting when we first walked through the doors.

25th Wedding Anniversary dinner! Night starts off well with the waiter telling my wife that she must have been 10 years old when we got married. Don't think she bought it but happy nonetheless. As they say, happy wife, happy life. We both went for the 10 course tasting, which is a lot even for French portions, so I knew I should not fill up on the bread but the sesame crusted bread was irresistibly delicious! With so many courses I do not want to go through each of them (descriptions are in the pictures) so I will hit the highlights and the lowlights. Highlights were the sesame bread, scallop over crispy rice, mushroom ravioli, king crab, the lobster, citrus dessert with a sugar dome and the complimentary mousse. The lowlights were most of the sauces, which did not usually compliment the proteins, which were all prepared amazingly. The duck was a perfect example where the duck itself was delicious but the harissa and caper saffron infusion sauce was overpowering. We still really enjoyed the dinner because the ambience and service were so good but the sauces kept me from giving 5 stars. One final note for those sweet lovers, during desserts they let you pick sweets from a tray. My wife was so full so she asked If she could take them to go, and they will give you one of each in a JG to go bag. We have not tried them yet so maybe I will do a follow up on just those desserts...
Be the first to ReplyWarm Shrimp Salad was the best salad ive had hands down.
It's similar to the warm shrimp salad at my fave french restaurant Le Diplomate in DC, but maybe a notch better! The amuse bouche was so good i was tempted to ask for another, it was some crispy, fried cheese flavored "ball".. my raspberry lychee bellini was refreshing. My only complaint was the service hovering (not my waiter).. its awkward having 3-4 ppl in your immediate vicinity just standing around, pacing in front of you. Maybe ill sit at the bar next time for less distraction. Same chef or owner as Perry Street which has the best lobster dish I've ever had. Ill be looking out for the name 'Jean Georges', I'm impressed.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing restaurant.
We had the 10 course tasting menu & left very full.My favorite dish was the foie gras.Only downside is it was very expensive!
Be the first to ReplyJean-Georges is a culinary experience like no other.
From the moment you step through the doors, you are transported to a realm of haute cuisine and impeccable service. The atmosphere is one of understated elegance, with a tasteful dรฉcor that exudes a sense of refinement and class. The menu is a symphony of flavors, showcasing the talents of the renowned chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. Every dish is a masterpiece of culinary artistry, with a perfect balance of textures and flavors that tantalize the taste buds. The seafood is particularly noteworthy, with the freshest catches of the day expertly prepared to perfection. The steak, cooked to a succulent medium-rare, is a tour-de-force of flavor and tenderness. The service is nothing short of impeccable. The waitstaff is attentive and knowledgeable, able to expertly guide you through the menu and wine list. The sommelier is a master of their craft, able to pair the perfect wine with each dish. The pacing of the meal is flawless, with each course arriving at the table at just the right moment. But what truly sets Jean-Georges apart is the level of artistry and creativity that goes into each dish. The flavors are bold and inventive, with a masterful use of herbs and spices that elevates the meal to new heights. The presentation is nothing short of breathtaking, with each dish a visual feast for the eyes as well as the palate. In short, Jean-Georges is a dining experience that is not to be missed. It is a temple of gastronomy, where the food, service and atmosphere all come together in perfect harmony. If you're a food connoisseur looking for a truly extraordinary meal, look no further than Jean-Georges.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful atmosphere and lovely staff.
The food is complex and interesting, but nothing made the evening more enjoyable than the staff. If you're trying to time your experience with another evening event (Broadway show?), just know that the 10 course menu takes about 3 hours for a nicely paced meal. Our favorite dish was the Yellowfin Tuna Ribbons - has been on the menu since the restaurant opened. It's obvious why.

I don't see how anyone could give this Michelin starred restaurant less than 5 stars. Quite frankly, I don't know how it's possible they lost one Michelin star because it truly is an incredible dining experience. Firstly, the ambiance is unlike any other restaurant I've been to. From the moment one steps into this alternative reality, it's clear the clientele is chic, refined and sophisticated. There are countless people watching opportunities and entertaining conversations all around to eavesdrop on. The dining experience itself is unmatched. I did the vegetarian chefs tasting and my husband did the omnivore tasting. Both were about 6-7 courses, but honestly seemed like we got ten courses because they throw in some extras. I cannot even name all the dishes I was brought out, but will say that each dish offered a unique burst of flavor. Items such as "cauliflower tea" and a vegetarian caviar were so original I don't think I've ever tasted similar concoctions. They also send you home with their homemade almond cake, which is delicious. The service is impeccable of course and each dish is perfectly curated and explained by the server in detail.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing Jean-Georges' 6-course Omnivore Tasting menu and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. The service was impeccable and the ambiance of the restaurant was chic and sophisticated. The meal began with a selection of freshly presented bread, including a diver scallop with crispy sushi welcome dish. The highlight of the meal for me was the Venison Loin with Smoked Bacon, a balance of rich flavors and textures. Desserts included a variety of freshly made chocolates, also rich in different textures and taste, which was the perfect ending to a truly memorable meal.Overall, Jean-Georges' 6-course Omnivore Tasting menu is a must-try for any foodie visiting New York City. The attention to detail and high-quality ingredients truly set this dining experience apart. I highly recommend it and give it a full 5-star rating.
Be the first to ReplyDELICIOUS.
Service was awesome and the food was delicious...we had the Boston Lettuce salad for an appetizer and the simply grilled salmon which was prepared perfectly and both were truly wonderful...I had the Beef Tenderloin which was amazing... the sauce is TDF... on a cold rainy day, fantastic food in a beautiful cozy atmosphere, inspired the funnest conversation.

My friend and I got sick, and they're impossible to get a hold of on the phone or email.
Be the first to ReplyThis was my foray into fine (fine) dining.
The visit was worth everything. We opted for the 10 course omnivore. Every dish was a surprise and a piece of art. Personal favorites were the king crab, tuna ribbons, and the duck. Overall, worth experiencing at least once if you can afford the price.
Be the first to ReplyThis is a special place.
The meal was one of the best I've ever had. The service was probably the best I've ever experienced. I opted for the 10 course omnivore menu consisting of,Crispy trout sushi - very good.Sweet Pea Soup - this was excellent, my only complaint was I wish the dish was bigger.Caviar - good, but least favorite dish of the night.Yellowfin Tuna Ribbons - one of the standout dishes, the tuna was fresh and delicious and the presentation of it as ribbons was excellent.Scallop With Truffle - absolutely incredible.Hearts Of Palm - after the two previous dishes this felt a little lackluster but still good.King Crab - another incredible dish, this was probably my favorite dish of the night. It was like a King Crab risotto and delicious.Black Bass - very good.Roasted Foie Gras - incredible, the Foie Gras literally melted in my mouth. Another standout dish.Gently Smoked Duck - been using this word a lot - INCREDIBLE. I'm not a big fan of duck and this was easily the best duck I've had. Cooked to perfection with perfect flavor.Chocolate - very good.Chocolate Moose Cake - this is a bday special dessert and I thought it was excellent. Basically a chocolate molten cake. I enjoyed this more than the standard dessert that comes with the tasting menu. Jean George is a special occasion place and if you have the chance to go it's well worth the price.

First time here and we were impressed! I appreciated how the wait staff was polite and knowledgeable. My wife and I both had the ten course meal and multiple drinks. Usually when I order a prix fixe, some of the courses are duds. That wasn't the case here. We thoroughly enjoyed each course! The langoustines were stellar and surprisingly I enjoyed the amuse-bouche the second best. The Manhattan was just ok, but I enjoyed the luxardo cherries. The Negroni was great but I would have expected higher quality ice. I don't remember the wines we selected but we enjoyed them! The only small annoyance was; even though I asked for no more water, they kept pouring me more and charged me for a new open bottle. $10 means nothing when you have such a large bill, so why play such a silly game. Otherwise fantastic! One of the best dining experiences I have had in Manhattan.
Be the first to ReplyThis is def a 3 star Michelin.
I may not be the best Michelin food connoisseur, but this place has elegance, taste, and reasonable portion. The dessert options themselves are plentiful. Just take a look at the pics. My favorite was probably the king crab dish or the salmon ceviche dish. All of it excellent. You wanna drop a few hundred on an excellent meal, this is the place to go
Be the first to ReplyAmazing food! Phenomenal atmosphere.
