Terrific Business Lunch
Great spot for a relaxed business lunch with excellent food. The server, Edward, was simply the best. We look forward to visiting again.
Be the first to ReplyMemorable Thanksgiving Dinner
Many thanks to Roger for making Thanksgiving Dinner an event of a lifetime. JG should be 3 star just like the guys across the street.

The appetizers are innovative, I can tell the chef is trying to mix the taste from other parts of the world with original European taste, such as a spicy fish meat sushi. The entree are excellent with multiple layer taste, also different from traditional French cooking.
Be the first to ReplySurprisingly disappointed by the amateur level service and dishonesty
I had 10 dishes omnivore course from Jean Georges. It was nice, except for the fact that they mixed up the order that the dishes are supposed to be served in the middle. It was quite unfortunate because they switched the order of the last cold served dish and the very first warm savory dish, so it makes the whole thoughts behind the course design dumped to the drain. I would not say my evening got ruined because of this, but I definitely expected more from an establishment that once held 3 Michelin stars. On top of that, what irritated me the most is unlike any other resaurant that I have been with the samr level of price range and formality, they did not even ask me how my evening went. I took it as a clear sign that they acknowledged their mistake and decided to not bring up. Showing amateurism is one thing, but being devious to your guest is just unacceptable. In conclusion, I would never recommend this establishment to anyone, on the contrary, I would rather advise anyone consdering to visit this restaurant not to.
Be the first to ReplyIn a word, the best restaurant in New York.
Let's be clear: I am not rich. Jean-Georges is a serious splurge for my wife and me, but we save our pennies and dine there once or twice a year when visiting from Boston. Yes, you can eat incredibly well at the other high-ends: Per Se, Bernardin, the usual suspects. But, when we are feeling flush, we keep coming back to JG, where every meal--every moment, really--is special. Not a question of price--but of value. And the return on investment at this mecca is uniquely high. We are not regulars--not even New Yorkers. So how do the friendly but professional hostesses know our "usual" table? And welcome us mere mortals like celebrities? The intimidation factor is zero; you get the impression that Chef GJ, whose humble start in the restaurant biz may account for this, will not tolerate a whiff of snootiness. The staff, from the reception desk to the busboys, defines the words gracious, informed and efficient. And the room itself is an oasis of serene feng shui. In particular, Captain Daniel is an exceptional professional: polite and friendly without ever being intrusive. Like the absolute best restaurant servers, Daniel seems to appear magically if you want anything--and fades away when it's clear you're deep in conversation. And he knows the menu--every ingredient--like the chef. This must be particularly challenging with a multi-course meal, where interruptions are inevitable. This guy makes a magical dinner even more special. Did I mention the food? By my count, Mr. Vongerichten owns nearly 50 restaurants. Usually, this is the kiss of death of the quality of the individual shops. The tasting menu at JG, however, has never failed in the times we have dined there. (Clearly, Chef hires tough managers and perhaps having his brother oversee Jean-Georges maintains this astonishing level of consistent kitchen excellence.) Sure, occasionally an exotic combo of ingredients is more interesting in theory than tasty (I'm talking to you, sweetbreads with licorice), but in our dozen or so visits, the inventiveness, freshness, care (without being fussy), and simple deliciousness of one dish after the other amazes. Chef is not afraid to season with gusto--and it shows. Oh, and that yellowfin tuna ribbons! Now in my nightly dreams. Charred duck breast with harissa and caper-saffron infusion. Are you kidding me? One of the best things I've ever tasted. Thank you, Chef and, again, Captain Daniel, for the many extraordinary meals. Two Frenchmen (apparently, bigwigs in the international wine trade) at the table next to us, summed it up: "We come to New York once a year and we head here first. The BEST RESTAURANT IN THE WORLD." Who am I to argue with these experts?
Be the first to ReplyA Most Memorable Meal
My recent meal at Jean-Georges was one of the highlights of my trip – and maybe of all visits to NYC in general. Of course, one expects an elegant experience in a beautiful dining room and one of the finest 2 Michelin starred restaurants… but I was pleasantly surprised about how un-stuffy and unpretentious the experience was. Our head waiter, Ed, was not just pleasant – but a true joy. He walked the line of professional and informative while also giving a glimpse of his goofy and playful side, which made the meal all the more memorable. The service was kicked up a notch further with expert wine advice from our Sommelier, Kristen, whose knowledgeable insight and personalized guidance led us to the perfect pairings to an amazing meal. The meal itself was just incredible, and was kickstarted by one of the most memorable bites I’ve had in my life. The following courses just flowed with ease, with perfect timing and one exciting flavor after another. Then of course – a special dessert (for the birthday girl) plus the mignardises were the icing on the proverbial cake. I think novice fine-diners and seasoned “foodies” alike would find a meal at Jean-Georges to hit all the marks.
Be the first to ReplyIncredible Meal
Dined here on Christmas Day, and everything (food, wine, service) was spectacular. Our dining captain, Ed, kept the mood light but professional and was a fount of information about each course. The sommelier (a woman with red hair whose name I did not catch, unfortunately) was spot-on with suggestions for wine. Interestingly, and somewhat uniquely among similar establishments, Jean-Georges does not do pre-set wine pairings, but her recommendations for bottles and glasses were perfect. The food was, of course, outstanding. Every course on the 10-course omnivore menu was a delight. Among all of the similar high-end restaurants in NYC, Jean-Georges feels the least stuffy even though it is just as fancy (and the food is just as good) as any place in the city. It has become our new favorite restaurant in Manhattan and definitely worth the splurge.
Be the first to ReplyTerrace meal on point!
I recently visited the terrace and it was such a wonderful experience. The setting was fantastic (great weather), and the service and food were totally spot on. Everything we ordered was perfectly prepared and we it was so nice to be able to enjoy such elevated food in a relax setting. We particularly loved the poached shrimp salad and the sea bass. Can't wait to go back.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Service but Food Ok
There were more misses than hits. I only enjoyed the crabmeat dumplings and the rest didn’t really wow me but just Ok. Duck was way overcooked. Service was friendly and professional. I would say this is least stuffy of the fancy restaurants in NYC so if you just want to chill and relax, I would come here instead of other competitors. They even have outdoor dining and the general bar area does not require reservations. I think the menu could only get better and post-pandemic supply issues is probable cause for some menu mishaps.
Be the first to ReplySumptuous and elegant restaurant
This elegant, lush restaurant is a perfect way to have an exquisite meal. We came here to celebrate a birthday, and it was utterly amazing! The staff were accommodating and impeccable, and the food was divine. We chose to order the fixed prix menu, partly because this was the first time we'd seen a prix menu with so many options to suit so many needs (e.g., vegetarian, picky eaters). The parsnip soup, the parmesan risotto, and the gently smoked squab were heavenly! Each course was an improvement on the last, which is saying something, since each dish was clearly prepared with love. This restaurant deserves all of the Michelin stars!
Be the first to ReplyPerfect meal
We ordered the ten course omnivore and loved every one of the courses. The place certainly live up to its two Michilin stars rating. Each course delivers on its presentation, aroma, taste, and service. Dinner took over 3 and half hours and we enjoyed every minute of it. You are being catered to from your taste buds to your entire dinning experience. Service staff is always present but not intrusive to attend to your every needs during dinner without ever being asked to - again well deserving of its two Michilin star rating. This is now our top rated restaurant to go to. Will certainly be back next time we visit NYC ( if able to secure reservation)
Be the first to ReplyAn outstanding restaurant
We had lunch this beautiful restaurant where the staff is friendly and accommodating. The food was of excellent quality, flavorful, presented attractively and delivered on time. Julio especially was amazing and anticipated all our possible needs before we even mentioned anything and provide us with a fun experience. We will be back!
Be the first to ReplyExquisite...ALL around!
We save this restaurant for VERY special occasions mainly because it IS quite expensive! This one was my birthday. First, let's get THIS out there...there IS value in an experience like ours. Half-way through I told my husband I think we would still have enjoyed this meal at twice the price (not to give J-G any ideas...there's only S000 much even we can afford)! The cucumber-mint Hendrick's gin martini was as refreshing as an early evening breeze wafting through the BVI without the airfare and beachfront accommodations. The preferred of the amuse bouches was the scallop sushi presented on crispy rice...the layers of flavor and their time-released impact was genius and other worldly. We ordered the six-course omnivore menu and couldn't have ingested more food than that quite frankly. I won't say each course was "better" than the previous. ALL the courses were outstanding and some were "standout". In my experience, there is no dish that cannot be enhanced with morel mushrooms. When I fall asleep at night I dream of a morel menu meal presenting the fungi in various delicious formats with the "main" being nothing more than sautéed morels in butter, garlic and thyme or chervil...hold the salt & hold the pepper. J-G's asparagus with morels drenched & draped in sauce hollandaise was a delight to remember this special day for me. The black sea bass with ramp puree was insanely perfect. Even though the lamb took a L-0-0-0-ng time to arrive allowing a small amount of fret to slip into the meal, when it DID strut on stage it did so with aplomb. It was daring and rustic in a way but also delicate. Our dessert choice was made for us so if I have a small issue it's that I wish I could have chosen from a selection including cheeses (especially because their bread is among the best) and yet... it was quite good if VERY sweet. One last wine note - - we almost didn't even think of actually ordering our primary choice of wine which was a 2020 muscadet from, of course, the Loire Valley. With my eyes down in consultation with the sommelier my choice became known and he sang it's praises as if to say, "Sir, with your meal this evening there is NO better choice!" Of course, there certainly were other, better bottles/vintages but he let me have my way and didn't compromise his wine knowledge integrity. At $44. it was the cheapest bottle on their extensive menu. We could have paid a lot more but so very glad we didn't because it's exactly the wine we wanted to sip through our meal.

My wife booked this restaurant for my birthday. We had the ten course tasting menu. The food did not disappoint, absolutely delicious. The service was great too. Will be going back.
Be the first to ReplyJean Georges Best Ever
We visit NYC about twice a year. Over the last two years of COVID we have stayed, and will continue to stay, at the Trump International Hotel at One Central Park West, which just happens to be the home of Jean Georges 5 star restaurant. I am NEVER disappointed with any component part of the dining experience. Everything is perfect. Staff is there miraculously when you need anything. You run out of water, they are there to fill it, tea, the same, wine, the same. They watch at a distance and never intrude. The courses in a ten course meal come out at exactly the same time. They set them down (no matter how many staff members required) at the very same time for everyone at the table. There are NO AKWARD moments like so many other 'fine" restaurants that bring entrees out at different times. YOU CANNOT BELIEVE THE ATTENTION TO EVERY DETAIL. When the food reaches the table in perfect timing, you will find that every course is as fine as the finest of any single course from any other restaurant. It takes a lot of effort to organize, plan a menu, buy the raw groceries, prep, teach and train staff, cook, serve and politely and efficiently respond to the unique and special needs of guests. The Trump International restaurant "Jean Georges" works tirelessly and successfully to beat all of the competition at everyone of the component parts of an amazing dining experience. We went head to head against a Deniro restaurant, Nobu 57, and while Nobu 57 is amazing - truly amazing - they don't match the complete product of Jean Georges. Two great places. Try them both.

Longing for what used to be
Have celebrated major life events here on several occasions because it is beyond compare. Our first foray post-pandemic left us sated but saddened. It's always felt like a warm hug when dining there and, indeed, the food is still stellar. The vibe is different, though...more rushed, less time given for lingering. It's less about the experience and more about the "economics." No blame as it's the way things are right now. I just long for the place that used to be.

The answer is "yes" and my husband proved it with a night out at Jean Georges. The dining room is light and lovely. The staff, especially our wonderful server, Carolyn, were perfectly attentive. She described each course with relish and a gentle enthusiasm that heightened our anticipation. The 6 and 10 course omnivore tasting menus did not disappoint. The corn fritter with black truffle and silken tofu with apricot amuse bouche were exquisite bursts of perfection in a solitary bite. My favorites were the yellowfin tuna noodles and the egg toast with 3 perfectly coddled yolks lined end to end and topped with caviar. My husband shared tastes from his 10 course menu and the heirloom tomatoes and badger flame beets were such fresh reminders of the best of summer gardens - all with delicately enhancing infusions, spices and herbs. I also loved the squash roasted with parmesan. The sommelier gave a great recommendation for an Austrian wine (Ott) that complemented every course. And the ending was oh so sweet - a roasted peach and a special chocolate mousse birthday treat. The meal was a "valentine, birthday greetings, and a bottle of wine" all rolled into one.

This restaurant seems never to waver below excellent. We had both the vegetarian and regular pre fixe. None of the dishes were a failure. Some were better than others, but all, more or less were nothing short of excellent. The wine list was extensive with some moderately priced bottles. The only negative is that the restaurant is in the Trump International. If you can move beyond that fact, you will have an exceptional experience.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointed
The menu was priced fixe at $ 150 pp vegetarian meal or a 6 course diner at $ 300 pp
We didn’t want to spend $ 300 pp
So we chose the vegetarian menu.
It was very disappointing, and I ended up with stomach cramps. I also cannot eat fried food so they replaced the fried food with a frizze salad which I hate. No other choices.
We love the restaurant and have been there many times.
Unless they change the menu future visits may not happen and in all sincerity at $ 300 pp for food plus wine and a cocktail plus cappuccino, tax and tip your bill is over $ 500 pp that is ridiculous for getting together with some friends .
And the vegetarian food wasn’t even good, it seemed very exotic but really!
Sorry , I don’t like to leave a bad review but I really loved the old menu and the choices.
The service was lovely , most professional and the atmosphere was great.
They did a good Covit procedure but they were unexpressed by the fact that we were fully vaccinated.
nice french food , great views
4 course tasting menu was excellent , fruit trop desert awesome , lovely staff , great wine selection , what more can I say ?
Be the first to ReplyFantastic meal in our own little glass house!
My family made a reservation to dine in one of the individual glass pods in mid December. It was a beautiful setting complete with a HEPA filter, a heater, and a sound system that we could control. The service was fantastic. Our group did the tasting menu and it was absolutely wonderful. I can't say enough about this experience. I look forward to going back to Jean-Georges after Covid is in the past!!!
Be the first to ReplyExceptional as always
My wife and I had not been to Jean Georges in about two years. Due to the pandemic and we were reluctant to go, but they were very well prepared and took the matter very seriously.
We had the six course tasting menu which was superb, each dish was a standout.
The egg caviar toast was phenomenal. The foie gras was exceptional. My wife is not a big meat eater and the gentleman who took our order gladly replaced the rack of lamb for a lobster dish which she loved, I had the Lamb and was thoroughly impressed.
The service was top notch as always, the young man who was taking care of us was a delight.
I can safely say Jean Georges is clearly among the top restaurants in NYC.
We will not be waiting 2 years before we return!!
