I had a great time.
We did not make reservations so we sat right near the door which isn't ideal but wasn't that bad. The waiter was informative and attentive. We got the $95 chef special and it was amazing. All of the food had great flavor and it was nice to try different options. The restaurant was pretty and not too noisy even though it was very crowded. The cocktails and wine did the job.
Be the first to ReplyMake sure you ask for Sal to be your server, 10/10 service.
He is devoted to his craft. Highly recommended. Food is outstanding.

This place is the least accommodating, rude, ridiculous place. I have a few food allergies all to things easy to avoid and frankly expensive so most places are happy to charge me but leave them off. This place said no accommodations. Even for allergies. Go to Nobu instead. They were kind, delicious and actually live up to what they're known for. This place I had to pick around what I actually wanted simply because someone doesn't think people with allergies deserve to eat good food.

Very small portions, the service was nice due to our server. The ambiance was cool. Once again the food is not meant for the hungry.

Need to update my review as my last 3 trips here were very negative. Possibly new management now?? I'm keeping it at 3 stars but only because of how good it used to be and my hopes of it returning to its former glory.
Be the first to ReplyThe decor is trendy.
The interior is beautiful with dim lighting . Good for date night . They have a $7. dollar Monday specials menu. I would recommend to try the sushi rolls . The lamb chop roba is delicious .
Be the first to ReplyWe had the best experience at Izakaya tonight! The food
We had the best experience at Izakaya tonight! The food was amazing, most notably - Korean bbq, wagyu fried rice, and soup dumplings. Our server, Sal, was very attentive and we were never left without a drink, next round of food, etc. He was wonderful! We stopped by the bar after dinner and Kelly made us some amazing drinks - if you like spicy, the Oso Hatsu is where it's at! The entire staff made for a welcoming & enjoyable experience. Overall, it was a 10/10! We're already planning our next night out here! If you're on the fence - book your reservation now!
Be the first to ReplyTrendy vibes.
Very dark interior with dim lighting. Came with a large group and ordered drinks and food to share. Pear lychee martini is supposedly the most popular drink and it was delish. Some of our favorites were: Hot Oil Yellowtail, Tuna Avocado, Crispy Rock Shrimp, Wagyu Beef Rice, Charred Chilean Sea Bass, and Big Eye Tuna Roll Great service from Michael the server. Helped us order the perfect amount and was very attentive. Dishes came out pretty fast. Our go to when at Borgata.

Start to finish hands down one of the best meals i have ever had, service was friendly and prompt. Rotating kitchens so food came out randomly. High points were the salmon negamachi, wagyu sliders, chicken katsu appetizer and the short ribs.
Be the first to ReplyVisited Izakaya with a party of 10 for my 50th birthday.
We were immediately seated and promptly served by our incredible waiter Kevin. Once we ordered shortly after we had a constant flow of food coming to the table allowing everyone to sample the divine delicacies in front of us. Some our faves were the edamame and soup dumplings. We mostly had sushi for our main course and was probably the best we have all had. The fish just melted in your mouth. Throughout our meal Kevin was checking in on us. I want to highlight that my son has food allergies which Kevin and staff handled professionally and perfectly... thank you! We were surprised by a beautiful dessert platter to celebrate my birthday and end our meal which was incredible!! Thank you Izakaya for making my big day extra special!
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best meals my wife and I have had in years.
Kevin made exceptional recommendations and we just went with every dish and drink he suggested. The Yellow Tail and the Sea Bass were real stand outs. We will come back again.
Be the first to ReplyWe had the best time tonight for date night.
Our server Sal was excellent! He was very attentive and knowledgeable. The food was amazing!
Be the first to ReplyThis is our go-to spot at Borgata.
The crispy rock shrimp has great texture and is perfectly balanced with the aioli. The wagyu beef rice and all the robatayaki options we've tried have all been good. The spicy tuna roll is not actually spicy but that's ok. Everything is delicious and service is always good. The table next to ours said the wagyu beef sliders were the best thing they've ordered so will try those next time. I'd steer clear of virgin cocktails - I ordered a virgin mojito at the suggestion of our waiter for non alcoholic drink options and it was just ginger ale with lime and mint but double the price of a regular soda.

Be the first to ReplyWe stayed over at Borgata on a Sunday night and had dinner
We stayed over at Borgata on a Sunday night and had dinner reservations at Izakaya for 7:00pm. Shortly before 7 we had a change of heart and decided to ask if they charge to cancel reservations - they don't. The girl at the front desk was very understanding and said it wasn't anything to worry about. Not even a half hour later we were both craving sushi and decided to come back. We were seated immediately (I guess it helps that they weren't very busy but I didn't expect them to be on a Sunday night). The ambiance inside the restaurant was nice and the lights were dimmed. The dress code says business casual which felt about right for the setting. We were seated in view of a chef. I couldn't tell if he was preparing sushi or robatayaki, but I enjoy being able to see the people preparing your food. Our server wasn't what you'd expect from a nicer restaurant. A little abrupt, sloppy, and had trouble answering what seemed like basic menu questions. All that being said our server was nice. My girlfriend had a glass of Prosecco and I had a Dirty Martini which I really enjoyed. We started with soup dumplings, 4 dumplings served in a bowl with what tasted like a vinegary soy sauce broth. They were delicious. Also split some sushi rolls and nigiri. This sushi easily compares to some of the best sushi I've ever had. Not quite as good as the best I've had as I've been to Royal Izakaya's Omakase twice in Philly, but I was very very impressed. We split a Spicy Tuna Roll, a Miso Glazed Sea Bass Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll, and then two pieces of the following Nigiri: Bluefin Toro, Tuna, Salmon, Yellowtail. The Bluefin Toro was heavenly - buttery and melt in your mouth. The sushi was all fresh and the soy & lemon added a refreshing bite atop the nigiri. The Sea Bass had a nice little char broil that came with a pleasing taste and texture. Our experience was pleasurable and I would definitely dine here again as this was my first time. The downside is the price, but ultimately you're paying for quality and location. Most nice restaurants in Atlantic City are expensive and the quality of our sushi was undeniable.

I went back to visit for the 2nd time & we got a couple of the same items that we liked from last time (shrimp fried rice, cheese curds, korean bbq & chicken Robatayaki) & a couple different dishes to try. The wagyu beef sliders were amazing, we each had 1. My bf & I were very pleased w/these. The rock shrimp were also great, & our regular faves didn't let us down. We will be back when we are in town next.

We come here every time we're in AC and the restaurant has never failed to delivery on quality of food and service. However, tonight exceeded our expectations in every way mainly thanks to our wonderful waiter, Sal. He was attentive, helpful, and most of all, engaging. Whether it was a recommendation for Sake or a suggestion for dessert, Sal was there and hit the nail on the head. If you eat here, ask to sit in his section; you'll make a 10/10 experience a 20/10 one.
Be the first to ReplyTrendy, dark ambiance.
Menu - no specialty rolls but the items we ordered were all fresh and delicious. Would probably try a place with a better menu next time.
