A TOUCH OF ELEGANCE ! After a glorious week in Salerno and
A TOUCH OF ELEGANCE ! After a glorious week in Salerno and Rome we had just the one day to discover beautiful Florence. We enjoyed a fabulous private guided tour of a few museums and then it was time for dinner. This classy restaurant was highly recommended by the staff of Hotel Berchielli ( right next door ) where we were staying. We turned up at 7.30pm on the Thursday night without a reservation ( no time ). NO PROB ! The restaurant was virtually fully booked but I managed to convince Serena the charming manager to fit us in. We were seated at a table towards the rear of the restaurant....with a good view of the kitchen. One could tell this was a restaurant that did things a certain way.....keeping it classy ! Initially a server named Klaudia looked after us with glasses of water but in the end it was Serena the manager who took perfect care of us during our dinner visit. FIRST UP ! I ordered the Italian house beer - 5% abv...similar to a pale ale. We also ordered the Home Made Potatoes Focaccia ( Tuscan DOP ham and pickled artichokes ) for a starter. My ice cold beer arrived with a lovely tall stem glass and a complimentary serve of Artisan Bread & Flatbread courtesy of Serena. My house beer tasted quite good but the bread was a bit too crunchy for our taste. GOOD STUFF ! Our starter of Home Made Potatoes Focaccia hit the table and tasted sensational. We love well made focaccia and this was as good as it gets....the delicate ham and flavorsome artichokes hit the spot. ENTREES ! Serena was quite helpful when we chose our main dishes....my wife ordered the Fried Beef Meatballs On A Tomato Puree From Il Borro while I chose the Beef Sirloin, Garlic Green Beans And Roasted Cherry Tomatoes. It became totally obvious that everything about this restaurant was executed with extreme thoughtfulness and panache. Our beautifully presented entrees arrived together and tasted very good. DESSERT ! The dessert menu had a few interesting choices on it. Surprisingly my wife went for the Tiramisu ( it's usually chocolate cake ) and I selected the Chocolate Mousse And Rum, Honey Wafer And Candy Orange. OF COURSE ! And as we had found out in Salerno and Rome...Italians love to dine out late. The tables were filling up fast as we waited for our desserts to come out around 9pm. Our desserts tasted exquisitely delicate. I was not surprised to find out much later that the owners have similar restaurants in London and Dubai. They must be ticking a lot of boxes. We enjoyed our lovely dinner experience here right next door to the best boutique hotel on the planet. And then we walked outside to admire the spectacular Arno River ! NOTE - Of course with over 22 million views of my Yelp reviews and pics world wide in 2022 I can tell you what is great !

Be the first to ReplyI only had one night with Tuscan food and this meal really
I only had one night with Tuscan food and this meal really put me off of this cuisine. All stars goes to service, deco and location of this place but none of the dishes impressed us or was even good. The onion soup was dry and had no soup! Just slow braised onion with bread! The signature beef meatballs were dry and the tomato source was far over powering. The lamb in lasagna has very strong taste should be reminded to customers since not all can take it. Ordered a classic desert crème brûlée and thought nothing could go wrong it that but no, the top layer sugar was so thick and custard base was cold! Was head chef working on the day!? But service and location is great. I also liked the deco of the place.

OMG this place was FABULOUS! We have pretty high 'foodie standards' and we loved every morsel. We knew we were in the heart of the 'tourist zone' so didn't take all the rave reviews to hear but... they deserve it all. The restaurant is really beautiful inside. Service was great and the food was amazing!! We ate every bite served. We started with a soup, a wonderful bean and bread soup and a fresh burratta with mint infused zucchini and sun dried tomatoes. SO good. They have house branded olive oil and it was stupendous. We ate every morsel of our bread serving and could have just about drunk the olive oil it was so good! It was lunch so we couldn't eat TPP much so for our next course we had the squid ink pasta and the omelette with spicy eggplant. Both were delicious. So fresh. We didn't leave a morsel on either plate. We highly recommend this place!!

Crostone with parmigian Mayo was amazing! Lovely bistro with organic wines and beautiful street side seating to enjoy the weather and view of ponte vecchio.

We arrived here at 5:30pm, google and yelp said they were open. Upon arrival we tried speaking Italian and got a cold response in English. We wanted to know if they were still serving food the waiter replied that they only had some tapa-style finger food available (mini bruschettas and such) and that we could only have it if we ordered something to drink from the bar. We ordered a glass of wine and had a plate of finger food. It tasted like left-overs from the previous lunch and the wine was nothing special. Throughout the entire experience the waiters waited at the back of the restaurant chatting. If you choose to go do not go between lunch and dinner.

On the Arno River, the restaurant is in a restored barrel vaulted building. The sea bass, mixed salad, and roast beef with salad and potatoes were all very good. Just the right amount of food. The house wine was good however the bread was not great.

**This review is based on a tour mealOne of my favorite meals on the tour. This restaurant is nice and clean and they have their own wine. We had a cheese risotto and duck as the entree. The duck was cooked perfectly: rare and came with a side of potatoes. Nice ambiance.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic food.
We had an amazing wine tasting event here and the location is fabulous. If you're in Florence looking for lunch, this is the place. Highly recommend!!!
Be the first to Reply#florence #Italy #michelinguide It was just okay.
Not amazing. My salad was not good being honest. It was a salmon whatsoever which a waiter recommended. But compared to price and taste, it wasnt worth it. My pasta was so good. Dessert was just okay.
Be the first to ReplyClaudia serves you wine while you sit on the Arno bridge.
The service here is exceptional all around. Sit at the bar or outside and let Claudia take care of you. She's the sommelier as well. Let her guide you. All very reasonable prices so have fun. Had the fresh anchovies 3 way. Didn't taste like anchovies. Meaty with texture and each way had its own taste. Then had anchovies with butter on bread. That was typical anchovy salty but another great dish. Pasta with bacon and tomatoes grilled fresh veggies cooked with fresh thyme. Meatball appetizer with tzaziki sauce. Not typically Italian. I'd have it again.
Be the first to ReplyThis place was so good, we came here twice over our five
This place was so good, we came here twice over our five day honeymoon in Florence.Service was top notch, but the food. THE FOOD. My wife had the perfectly cooked steak and potatoes. I had the herb crusted pork chop and green beans. It was so good, we just had it twice. Good choice of wines too; we had the house red, which was good, and the rose, which I was happily surprised by.
Be the first to ReplyFor me this was a 4.
5 stars restaurant. As there is no such option, I do believe that is more a 5 than a 4, that's why the review. The restaurant is really nice, it has a casual ambience, but there is some elegance in they way they conduct themselves. The service was great, the waiter that served us was really attentive, proactive and had a good knowledge of the menu and dishes. He even said that our appetisers selection was similar and recommended us the eggplant dish that we ended up loving. Here's our experience in a few paragraphs: - Drinks: I ordered a glass of Chardonnay of the house (they do their own wine), it was good but they don't have more white wine options by the glass, and that let me down a little bit. - Appetiser: we had the burrata zucchini marinara e balsamico, this dish was really good. Great combination between the tenderness of the burrata with perfect crunchy cuts of zucchini. Additionally, by recommendation of our waiter, we ordered the eggplant stuffed with ricotta in tomato and pesto sauce. This was the highlight of the meal. It was perfectly cooked, simple and rich at the same time.- Main: I ordered the risotto with pepperoni and goat cheese sauce. This was delicious. The first bite was not what I was expecting, so it didn't impressed me at first. But as you're progressing, it is getting better and better. My husband ordered a homemade pasta alla bolognese that was one of the off-menu specials, this was good but it tasted too much meat, is not the bolognese we had in mind, and looking back, we would rather ordered something more exciting.- Dessert: you must have the Tiramisù! It was excellent and it seemed to be a modern interpretation of the classic dish without losing its traditional flavours (the cacao/coffee sprinkles on top was a really nice touch). My only complaint was that was too small and we love to share desserts (if you have this: DO NOT SHARE).The restaurant reached the expectations and it was not excessively expensive (the usual for Florence). We definitely recommend it as a safe option to dine here.
Be the first to ReplyOne of my most favorite restaurants in Florence for lunch
One of my most favorite restaurants in Florence for lunch or dinner. The menu changes according to the season just like most authentic and superb restaurants in our city. Staff are professional you can see the kitchen with professional chefs making fantastic meals. You can eat anytime from 11am - 11pm. Perfect for business lunch meetings or dinner with your family. The selection is perfect choose from fresh fish, meat and vegetable plates. I love the organic chicken crostini, first course pasta dishes with Gragnano Pasta and the second course whether is meat of fish are delicious. Be sure to leave room for dessert !
