Hot Pot Buffet Boston Reviews from The Last Year
This is a really solid place to come to for hot pot.
We usually get the house broth and the spicy broth, which is really flavorful. It's all you can eat, so you can check off whatever you want and they'll bring it to the table. I usually get a couple kinds of steak, crab legs, shrimp, salmon, white fish, quail eggs, an assortment of veggies (bok choy, chinese broccoli, mushrooms, etc), and white rice. They have MANY more offerings, but that's just what I usually go with. You can ask for more sheets to get more whenever you want, which is great. I definitely recommend Hot Pot Buffet as a tasty, inexpensive all-you-can-eat option.
Came here for dinner while wandering around Chinatown.
We got promptly seated upon arrival and the service was friendly. Like a lot of AYCE buffets, it's pretty straightforward. They give you paper and pen to check off what you would like. We got a variety of different things. I must say that I was kind of surprised when we got the things we checked off since it was a little misleading. The sausage that they had in the menu were actually hot dogs. There weren't a lot of sauce options but it was good enough for my friend and me. There's unlimited meat, veggies, and seafood and at that price point, it's definitely an amazing value. The food won't be super high quality for an AYCE buffet but for a casual dinner with friends is great. This place definitely fit the bill of what we were looking for -- an inexpensive yet filling dinner.
Food selection is good with a lot of seafood choices.
House special soup base was flavorful and the spicy was pretty spicy for those who like it! They do pretty well about making sure your pot stays filled with soup but some things that you mark on your list may not come so we had to bug waiters a couple of times.

This was my first experience with hot pot, and luckily I was with a "regular" who knew what to do. Everything was delicious, and seemed fresh. We did have to flag down a server a few times for more food, but it was delivered quickly and the staff was polite. I'm excited to try it again.
Food is good, the service is okay and the ambiance is fine
Food is good, the service is okay and the ambiance is fine ! I just didn't like the beef balls....

Worst buffet experience I've been to in Boston (coming from someone Chinese). They only offer one sauce that's very curated towards the traditional Chinese, it's something only my dad would eat. Meat doesn't come out in great quality, soup is not spicy enough, interior isn't the cleanest. Also, many reviews mention that they're cheap and a bang for your buck?? Don't see how this is possible because the bill came out to be the same as Happy Lamb... would much rather preferred to gone to Happy Lamb instead.
Please please please go somewhere else for hot pot.
I know this is the first big building in china town so a lot of visitors just walk in. It's like the Denny's of hot pot. Dirty, cheap, oh did I mention dirty? The service is horrible they never come back after your first order, they won't give you what you ask for only what they think you will eat. I've legitimately found roaches on our table and floor before. PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELESE for a good hot pot experience, you're in Chinatown! There are so many options (I recommend Happy Lamb or The Q)
I don't know what people expect of this place.
. by far the best bang for you Buck in terms of hotpot, servers are attentive and food is solid borderline good.

I use to go there so often like 2 times a week until my husband complained that he got diarrhea every week eat there lol But for me I'm fine. I think the soup was ok. I like the fatty beef and beef tongue back. They also have crab, it's not too fresh but it's fine for that price. I will go back when my husband not around
We have been to this place a few time over the years.
The services always great and you can't beat an All You Can Eat hotpot. The only issues with this place is the quality of the food is not consistent. Sometime the meats and seafood seems pretty fresh. This time it was not good at all. It could be because the place was packed due to the cold weather? We ordered the fatty beef and the sirloin. The fatty beef was mostly all fats and it was brown/black, as though the meat was dropped on the floor. I was told by the manager that it was just blood stain from slicing them. After we cooked the meat it was very dark gray. We also ordered the shrimp and the crab legs. They were so frozen and all stuck together that we had to throw the entire portion into the pot to break them up. The best was at the end of the meal. I saw a couple of staffs cleaning a table after the party left. While some staffs were throwing the dirty dishes into the tray, I saw two staffs took two plates of beef from that table. Overheard them say " quickly go refreeze them." I am not sure if they are reusing those meats. I think I might need to look for other places for hotpot.

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
